Today was a grand day for Aargau. A day of memorial, praise and grand celebration! It was the first renewal of Empire Day, which celebrated the founding of the FIrst Galactic Empire. This Empire Day was not only to celebrate the Empire before and the great minds who became immortal through their duties to the Empire, but also to celebrate the first year since the rebirth of the Imperial Remnant under the Head of State, Nicademus Delvardus. Parades and festivals could be heard across the city as the Imperial citizens were displaying such great loyalty through words and cheers of praise to their sovereign nation.
In one of many Imperial-funded buildings, a small gathering of nobles, generals, government officials and dignitaries of the Remnant's worlds had begun. It was not only a meeting to celebrate the renewal of the Imperial nation, but also as a means of discuss the current politics of the Remnant and the galaxy. In one of the large meeting rooms that was off to the side of the great gathering stood the Head of State himself. The young and charismatic Nicademus Delvardus, a former Major-General of the Imperial Army. He had welcomed various dignitaries and members of the higher strata of Imperial Society before leaving the scene of publicity and relaxing with members of his Council and others that the Head of State trusted. Nicademus, with a drink in hand, gazed out at the procession of the Imperial Guard. Their armor polished and weapons in ceremonial position as they marched down the main street, a sight of the Remnant's ever growing military power. He sipped the drink lightly.
Simply amazing. I remember when the Imperial Guard consisted less than a thousand soldiers. Now it has expanded to over five thousand strong. The core of the Imperial Army's restored and ever growing might. And only within a year...it feels like the Galactic Empire is with us again.

Beside the leader of the Leader of the Empire sat Xeonon Solomon, an Imperial not by birth but by choosing he had always enjoyed this day. That was until he was forced to become the leader of the Empire a few years ago, then the crushing responsibility broke something inside him, a man who was once strong and proud turned to alcohol to deal with the pressure. Despite this his appearance had stayed pretty much the same, but as he sat there watching he pulled out his ornate gold and diamond flask and took a swig of the scotch whiskey inside.
Standing tall beside Delvaradus, Xeonon put the flask back and in doing so clanked his blood red armour causing a few people to look his way but none could look the man in the eye. Many out of respect, some out of fear for the Leader of Imperial Knights was as imposing a figure as any with his many battle scars. Looking over at his liegelord he smiled something he hardly ever did.
] Ha! I remember a time when it was me and a handful of Knights, you pulled us back from the brink this is as much your holiday as anyone who has helped the Empire stay alive in this dangerous universe.

The Head of State glances over at Xeonon who spoke of the old days after the Mutiny on Falleen that resulted in another Imperial Civil War. Sent the Remnant back into the Dark Ages for some time. He would finish his glass, setting it upon a passing tray before Nicademus would turn to look at Xeonon.
I could never be in such comparison to those sorts of minds, Xeonon. Not like Gilad Pellaeon nor Jagged Fel. I am but a tree sapling and they are grand and aged oaks, enduring the greatest of summers and the harshest of winters. I was only lucky to have made my way to the Deep Core in order to help my fellow Imperials.

You are far to modest for your own good General, sure I managed to keep it from totally falling apart in true absence of leadership. But you, you not only kept us going but have allowed the Empire to flourish and grow, that is something worth mentioning. Something worth recognizing.
As Xeonon stood there he felt his vision roll for half a second before going back to normal. Shaking his head he looked around, he had not drank that much and it was obviously not an attack on them. No something small seemed off everywhere, it was not even noticable. Almost as if all the furniture in a room had been moved an inch from its original position and you kept bumping into stuff. The colours were more vibrant, the air sweeter.
Little did he know that in fact something was different, the universe had changed ever so slightly. Now when a coin was flipped instead of heads it would be tails, small stuff. Due to a debacal from the universes programming everything was destroyed, everything frozen as it was. This was not the original Xeonon Solomon but rather Xeonon 2.0.
So Our glorious leader how is the Empire these days? I cant say I miss being in charge of it all my friend.

Nicademus laughs at the remark by Xeonon. Though he was a not one who would kiss the boot of his superiors, the Imperial Knight's opinion was highly valued among those of the Head of State's personal and close advisers. He would walk away from the large window as a procession of the main Imperial Army was now seen. The Imperial sat down in his chair and looked at Xeonon.
I am sad to say that I cannot agree with you, Xeonon. This is only one year that the Imperial Remnant managed to survive further and thrive under my leadership. Under Pellaeon, it lasted for thirty-four years of great peace and reorganization. Under the Fel Dynasty, it lasted for close to a hundred years of revival and further strengthening. Compared to the military mind of Pellaeon and the charisma of the Fels, I have only achieved a small percentage of what they achieved. Perhaps by the end of my life time, I can say that I rival their achievements..
A cater arrived, handing the Head of State another one of his drinks. He thanked the server and set it down beside him. Nicademus would look at the various Imperials of the upper strata of the society before glancing at Xeonon.
The Empire is still rebuilding. The economy is booming, so the first phase of our plans has bore fruit. Now its time to move into the second phase, militarization. We will need to pass recruitment measures, organization laws, planetary defenses and doctrines for the military through the Imperial Diet in order to revitalize our navy and army. We have an adequate military to protect our holdings in the Deep Core, but we will have to look towards expansion and possible conflicts. With fresh conscripts from our worlds and the cloning facilities of Khomm, as well as the the vital shipyards at Foerost, we will be able to expand our military and ensure an effective standing army and navy to repel invasion and conduct war.

There we go thats what he wanted to hear, it was true pride was ones undoing but it also could help fuel a man. He would have to ask Fiana to speak with him a little about his past or something. Whatever, or however you decide to act the Knights will back you up. Although we also are not what we once were its not like we are wimps. Hell last Sith I encountered, his head was turned to pulp. Despite being a believer that a persons personal feelings made them who they were Xeonon was fueled with anger. It ranged from his childhood up to his constant betrayals from people left right and center. Its good to hear we are in a position to expand, dont forget we have powerful allies out there who would love nothing more than to sink their teeth into some Republic hippies.
Although at they were at peace with the group, it made sense that they would be their first target at least in his mind. Many of the planets they now control had deep seated roots in the original Empire not to mention them being the closest to the Deep Core where they currently reside. I was thinking we should possibly weaken them even more than they are now before attacking. With the Mandalorians keeping many of the more active force using groups at bay, it would be unwise to draw attention to ourselves. Right now stealth is still on our side, hit them with hired guns. Key figures. Looking over at the leader his face was solemn. A friend of mine and relative of yours is something we should consider...

*Standing at attention off to the side of the Empire day celebration Lieutenant Merrik Piett felt very out of place. Gathered around him are the greatest minds and leaders of the empire. He was one of the lowest ranking imperials and certainly to most insignificant one present. In fact he couldn't even understand why he was here. His ships were in orbit, although his invitation had allowed him to let a good portion of his men down to the planet for some much needed R and R after their years on their own in the unknown regions. His ships had been restored to fighting shape but his men would take longer. On top of that he was busy managing the new crew members recently brought on after their return to Imperial space. In fact he should be up there now tying to make yet another attempt to avoid fights and misconceptions. Of course that could always just be his usual hatred of having to wear his dress uniform. He had completely forgotten about it when it had hung unused in his cabin for years. Truth be told he wished it was still there, but orders are orders and Merrik would follow orders to his death if necessary*

The Imperial Remnant will need such allies in order to gain further power and territory. Even if it means allying with the Sith, we will still keep our Imperialist mind that is not influenced by the Sith cause. Our goal is the renewal of an Empire for the Imperials, for our people. Nicademus' eyebrow went up slightly when Xeonon spoke of a relative of his and a friend of Xeonon. The only man who came to mind was the Tarkin boy who was successor of Cygnus, Adulph Tarkin. From his lessons and advice with the former Horica Emperor, Nicademus was wary of his relative; someone who enjoyed powergrabbing and trying to get his foot in doors that was not any of the young Tarkin's business. The Head of State quietly strokes his chin before glancing at Xeonon.
Only if that relative of mine knows that this is not his nation. That his aid only helps our cause, not his. That none of his merits will help him gain a foot in the door of the Imperial Remnant. I am aware of his actions during the Fourth Galactic Empire and I will not tolerate such behavior. This is our nation and our time, Solomon...not his. He will be rewarded and given gratitude, but I will not tolerate such powergaming play in this government from an inexperienced relative of mine.

After the star courier, Grimblade, landed at the designated coordinates out of the way of the parade, a hydraulic hiss sounded as the rear hatch began to open. A boarding ramp was extended to the ground, leading from the ship's pitch black interior, down to the laminated duracrete of the landing pad. All was quiet for the better part of a minute, but then as though on cue, a high pitched whistle sounded, followed by the sharp melody of a flute. "??? ??? ??? ??? ??? ??? ???"
Emerging from the dark interior was a creature vastly alien when compared to the high majority human population in attendance. Garbed in a pearlescent white robe was a Barabel, black of scale and crimson of eye. The figure strode down the ramp atop talon tipped feet, swishing his long serpentine tail behind him. His clawed hands were busy tapping away manically at the flute pressed firmly to his scaled lips, playing the instrument with great expertise. As though this weren't an odd enough sight, following the saurian was a group of ewoks, four to be exact. They danced merrily behind him, entranced by his musical tune, performing pirouettes and cartwheels. If it hadn't been for the lack of a logo, one might have mistaken him for one of the performers in the parade. In fact, some did, with the occasional Imperial citizen handing a credit chit to the fuzzy dancers following behind him.

As Xeonon was busy he had tapped a couple of buttons on his datapad to one of the more trusted knights, a human named Finnick. An aging Imperial Knight aged 50 his long curly red hair matched that of his armour, he arrived there just as the ship touched down. To say he was surprised when the Barbel exited the ship playing a flute and even more surprised to see four little Ewoks dancing along to the tune. Not one to interrupt such a fabulous display he let it go on while approaching Dragus I take it you are the one who wished to meet with the Imperial higher ups? If so I suggest entering the same way, your sure to get a huge tip that way but they may not want a travelling troop it may be a day of celebration here but well serious matters and stuff. Even as he said this it was obvious that his hand stayed close to his Lightsaber, the Empire had many enemies out there and try as hard as they may keeping an entire nation a secret is hard as fuck.

When Finnick addressed him, the Barabel stopped playing the musical instrument, causing the troop of ewoks behind him to freeze in place. He lowered the flute from his lips, the corners of his mouth rising to reveal a razor-toothed grin. It was easy for the Sith to forget how savage something as simple as a smile could look to others. His more reptilian qualities were rarely appreciated outside of his Order. However, as his blood red orbs noted the Knight's hand resting near to his lightsaber, part of him wondered if that was what truly disconcerted the human. It could just as easily be due to the fact that Dragus was a Sith, a publicly sworn enemy of the Imperial Knights. The saurian's darker leanings often earned him the ire of many light side oriented groups and individuals, though occasionally that was over looked once they recognized him from his holonet-commercial. After all, Dragus was the galaxy's lead-most Ewok conservationist. Dragus looked over his shoulder at the Ewoks, then turned his snout back towards Finnick, slowly nodding his head, satisfied with the Knight's suggestion."Ssso be it." He said with a raspy hiss. "Kneecha, Jutse, Leebo, Lil'Bacca. Chuna el gringo shippe, cessste mika fir nap-nap." The last part he had spoken in Ewokese, the Sith's preferred and most commonly spoken tongue. Unfortunately most beings in the galaxy didn't speak it, so he was often forced to converse in galactic basic. In any event, the troop of ewoks hung their heads low and began to waddle back towards the ship, following their shepherd's order to return to the Grimblade and take a nap. The Barabel then pulled back the front fold of his white robe and placed his flute away, revealing in that action the silvery hooked cylinder hanging from his belt. Whether it was intentional or not, Finnick would now be aware that Dragus was packing some heat of his own. "Thisss one iz known az Dragusss. Are you the ambasssador thisss one iz to meet?"

The Imperial Knight smiled, although at face value the tune was pleasing the way that they Ewoks just stopped made him think that somehow it was compelling them to be his preforming troop. Draguses guess was one hundred percent correct the ginger could sense the dark side flowing around him, although he did not recognize him from the commercial he did from old footage of the lizard. Someone from NOE and anyone from there is someone you should keep your guard up around. Ignoring the creepy smile he nodded. No I am just an Imperial Knight, I am going to bring you to those who can speak for the Empire.
Not wanting to start shit with the Lord of Famine he brought both of his hands up and motioned to follow him to the party which was just down the street. Part of him was actually happy that Dragus, he only gets invited to the higher ups when he brings people along. Walking down the street he opened the door and took the stairs two at a time in full armour to the top level and opened a huge metal door. See the big man with the fancy beard and gold eye patch over there? He said pointing at Xeonon You can either talk to him, or the guy beside him.

Dragus followed behind Finnick, occasionally turning his snout to either side and flicking his forked tongue back and forth in the air. Though he possessed two slitted nostrils capable of detecting scents, his taste buds were far more sensitive, allowing him in essence to taste the air. He clasped his hands together as he walked, bowing his head slightly as though disinterested by their current surroundings. Nothing could be further from the truth, since the Sith constantly craved new sensations, but he didn't want to give off an aura of excitement. Instead he remained poised, careful not to swat anyone they passed with his tail. You'd be surprised how frequently that occurs.
After being directed to Xeonon, the Barabel offered Finnick a nod and proceeded forwards, rising a few inches more as his head lifted and his neck straightened. Once directly in front of the leader of the Imperial Knights, he offered the one eyed man a polite bow, then stepped back and inspected Xeonon first hand. The human reminded the Famine Lord of his brother War. He was far more contained than Bacca and certainly didn't share the same stink of dried blood and rage pheromones, but his aura had the same sharp edges, suggesting that he too was drawn to battle. Dragus suspected that unlike his brother, Xeonon didn't year for conflict quite the same way. Oh, and there was the matter of him having one eye as well. It was perhaps best that the Sith had left Lil'Bacca back at the ship. It was possible he might have thought Dragus was mocking him by parading around an ewok with an eye patch. In any event...
"Greetingz, Lord Knight." He assumed the title. "I am Famine, High Lord to the Order of the Eye."
As he introduced himself, Dragus' aura became more pronounced. He projected a hungering void, drawing in all life around him like some sort of sentient leech. Even the air felt colder when he was present, as though the Force essence that connected it to everything else in the universe was drained away and devoured.

Simply nodding, the new alcohol took another drink of his flask noting the new comer with Finnick, watching the lizard approach nodding as he spoke his name. Despite having his force taken from him years ago, his reconnection to it has been growing stronger everyday, as such when he started to get cold like cold to the bone his brow furrowed. It is a pleasure Lord Famine, would you like anything before we get on with talking? It is Empire day its meant to be a party so you name it its yours! It could be the alcohol talking or it could be the fear that was being created by the lizard but probably just him trying to be a gracious host. Oh and this hitching a thumb beside him is our head of state so whatever you have to say, lets hope its worth while.

Worthwhile? He wouldn't have bothered to make the trip otherwise. Dragus still wasn't entirely sure it was wise for the Order to ally itself with the Imperial Remnant, but that decision had been made during his hiatus. Of course he could spite his brothers decision and see an end to said alliance just as easily. All it would take was a quick thrust of the glass dagger concealed up his sleeve, burying it hilt deep in Nicademus' chest. The Knight Commander and his crimson clad accomplices might respond with hostility to such action, but mortal danger had never been a particular concern for the Sith, who prided himself on surviving the most impossible of situation. Even so, it seemed far more trouble than it was worth. He would honour the alliance and the decree of his Order, for now at least. His voice changed, becoming more severe. "I need for nothing sssave a moment of your attention, human. They merely warmed his seat, until the resurrection day when Palpatine returned from death's grasp and resumed his iron reign over the galaxy. That belief was at the heart of the Order's dogma, and the reason they guarded the remaining Eye of Palpatine. When He returned, they would be among the first rewarded."The Order haz decided that to uphold thisss sssacred duty, we mussst remove ourssselvesss from the galaxy, leaving behind only the Imperial elementz of our forcesss to continue sssecuring the galaxy againssst the threat of ultimate annihilation. He reached into his robe and withdrew the sigal ring he had crafted for himself. There were five in total, one for each of the high lords of the Order, and this one was his. Dragus extended his hand and opened his palm, offering the ring to Nicademus or Xeonon, whoever the first to snatch it was."We want you to dessstroy uz."

Who did not know about the infamous NOE, they were one of the most hated and despised groups out there. Personally Xeonon had no qualms with them, despite being followers of the dark he had always admired the way they got stuff down. Sure over time they had been whittled down as all the former Empires had before them, they were still here which spoke volumes to their track record.
How do I know you are who you a- Looking down at the outstretched hand for the first time Xeonons mouth dropped open, before him was a ring. Hesitating for a second looking back up into Dragus's eyes he reached out and picked the ring up. Looking it over with the trained eye of one who owns a mining company he was even more surprised; Dragite, a rare crystal often used for lightsaber focusing crystals and upon closer inspection the symbol of the NOE. As he held onto it he could almost feel the dark side feeding off him eking away at who he was and replacing him with something stronger, better. You want us to destroy you?
I take it obviously want to melt into the shadows so that you may plan more sithly things. He was really hoping that Delvaradus would speak up here, he was a man of action and it would please him more than anything to go and kill a bunch of Sith. Nica on the other hand could talk his way through this. How do you propose we do this and more importantly whats in it for us?

Nicademus quietly listened to the words of this strange creature and gathered the fact that this was an emissary of their supposed ally, the Order of the Eye. A treaty had been negotiated by Gabriel Solomon, hopefully. Nicademus would slowly reach out, taking the sigal ring into his hand from Xeonon. He examined it quietly, gazing at the fine structure of the object. He felt the weight of the ring before his eyes looked at the High Lord, Famine. You want us to destroy you? Our supposed ally wants the Imperial Remnant to destroy the most dreaded and powerful Order of the Eye? What is the reasoning behind this request, High Lord? This is such a surprising request by one of our fellow brothers of the Imperial cause. I only remember yesterday when Gabriel was sent to negotiate a treaty between our two sovereign nations...unless that was not achieved as predicted, High Lord.

They both raised reasonable questions, though Xeonon seemed to be the quicker of the two to have caught on. He also asked the best question: what's in it for us? It was the sort of thing Dragus would have considered if their roles were reversed. Unlike the Knight Commander, he wouldn't have asked it openly, for he preferred to find his own rewards and benefits when agreeing to an arrangement. Another of the many differences between them.
"Fear not. Gabriel sssucceeded in hiz attempt to form a treaty between our two organizationsss." He said, responding to Nicademus' query first. "He proved sharp of tongue, and sharper ssstill of fang when we forced him to engage in blood sssport. Few sssurvive the trialsss and tribulationsss of the high lordsss court."
He was uncertain what exactly the Miraluka had told his fellow Imperials about his encounter with the Order of the Eye, but needless to say he had not been greeted with wine and rose petals. They had put him to the test in the only way they knew how. That he survived unscathed was a testament to his worth as a warrior. That he had remained uninfluenced by the Darkside in that time further pronounced his strength of spirit, though the Famine Lord still held high hopes that one day he would persuade the Blind One to give in to his baser desires and join them in unbound debauchery. All good things to those who wait, or so the saying went. For now there were more important matters to contend with.
"The Knight Commander haz the gissst of it. We wish for the galaxy at large to believe uz dead and defeated ssso that we may pursssue our own agenda undisssturbed. What thisss one proposssesss iz that we ssstage a masssive engagement between our two forcesss, with numbersss ssso unevenly matched that the Imperial Remnant will undoubtedly be the victorsss. The galaxy will witnesss our sssupposssed dessstruction, and your forcesss will appear the championsss of good, defending the galaxy againssst yet another threat of evil. Beyond furthering your reputation..." He focused his slitted gaze on Xeonon as he said this, as though stressing that the victory would be its own reward and that helping an ally should not always come at cost. "...you will alssso receive the asssissstance of the remainder of our fleetsss to further the IR's manifessst dessstiny over the galaxy. We intend to leave behind only the Imperial elementz of our forcesss, which while ssstill sssecretly loyal to the Order, will follow your command az an extension of the IR's expansssionary fleet."
Dragus was certain that last part would be of interest to the Head of State and the Crimson Knight, for even if they were without the lust for power that afflicted all of the Sith's kind, they were Imperial. Expansionism, restoring order to the galaxy, building greater and larger bastions....these things were written into their very DNA. They could no more resist the urge than Dragus could refuse to take an ewok to bed.
"You know the sssize of our fleetz. Thisss iz no sssmall boon."
