A warm cup of coffee freshly brewed sat upon the Chief of the Imperial Police's desk. The soft sound of a yawn was heard from his lips as the Aargau Standard Clock read 7 AM. Things had been relatively quiet since the assimilation of the Imperial Remnant into the Galactic Empire. The Chief reaches over, taking the cup and taking a few sips. Thank the stars his secretary knew how to make a good Cup-o-Joe.
However, this morning suddenly flared up as he noticed a few people running around frantically and calls started going off the hook. The Chief's eyebrow goes up slightly, walking to the door of his office as red flashes appeared on a large screen where the Police coordinated efforts and pinpointed locations of trouble. He walks to the balcony since his office was on the second floor.
Oi! What in the blazes is going on? Some sort of malfunction or is this a drill from the Imperial Government Center?
Chief! We are getting rampant reports of armed individuals, riots and gunfire against police units. Units have asked for reinforcements in the red sectors and are barely holding against the waves of people. It just flared up within the past few moments. Unit 12 reports hundreds, if not thousands, of armed individuals making a mess throughout the civilian districts. And...and it appears to be a coordinated effort.
Send a report to the Imperial Government Center immediately. Make necessary calls to call in the paramilitary reserves and get a line to the Commander of the Stormtrooper Corps. Prep the riot gear and initial a level 3 city emergency! We need to get this under control now. Tell available units to fall back to intersections and prepare road blocks till reinforcements arrive.
He downs his coffee and throws the cup to the side. It had been awhile since they had riots, but by the looks of the screen, never had there been riots of this scale before. The Chief grabs his uniform and laser pistol. Outside of the complex, smoke could be seen rising from several districts within New Escrow...and it was only the beginning.

Sector 7 lost! I repeat Sector 7 is lost! Imperial forces are retreating to the Central District Line. Be aware of friendlies in the area! We are taking-....AHHH!....
The transmission cut out as General Garik sighs deeply. He gazes at the defensive perimeter established shortly after the outskirts of New Escrow were lost to these well-armed and very coordinated rebels. Garik had been left in charge of Aargau and he had failed Moff Delvardus. The only thing he could do was hold off as long as possible. He waves to section commander who nods and proceeds to open the gates as friendlies rush in from Sector 7; battered but not beaten. The General then proceeds to walk down to the perimeter taking some opticals to examine the battlefield that was approaching his section of the defensive line. He turns to a Stormtrooper.
Make everyone aware that we have to hold here...no matter what. Are the mortar rounds coming from the Armoury soon?
Yes, General. We are just awaiting the transports to arrive with a small amount of reinforcements and ammunition.
Garik pats the shoulder of the soldier and proceeds to walk down to those battered from the recent loss of Sector 7.

Hope, Hope was something that the defending Stormtroopers and Imperial reserves needed against the tide of rebels that continued to flood towards the Imperial Capital District. The High Moff and his commanders knew they couldn't hold out much longer; their defenses were growing thin and their munitions starting to dry up.
One day, a massive shadow fell across the northern perimeter. Troopers looked up to see a massive Pellaeon-class Star Destroyer descending upon the city and eclipsing their section of the city. At first, many thought it was the end, but the High Moff knew that ship. Within moments, scores of gunships, carriers and barges flooded down upon the capital district. Rebel placements that were just nearby the capital's line of defense began to throw down their weapons and flee as fresh Stormtroopers, Imperial regulars and vehicles rolled out, beginning a counter offensive to win back the city. Moff Delvardus had arrived...
As promised, Nicademus went straight to work. The capital's defenses were given a day of rest before being rearmed for deployment. The fresh troops spread out in four directions. The rebel offensive began to falter now as these reinforcements tore through them. Those that attempted to surrender were lined up and shot by firing squads. Imperial rule would be once more imposed upon the Deep Core and Aargau would be the first to taste this new era of order and stability through fear, terror and the force of arms. Elements that came from the pages of the Tarkin Doctrine.

While the pacification was being dealt with by Delvaradus, a single outdated CR-25 flew from the direction of the Solomon Mines. Or what was left of them. On board were casualties from the fighting there. Most would be dead within a few hours. Only a handful had any chance of survival on of which was Erebus, who lay on the middle of the transport. Doped up to the brim with morphine he couldn't move besides the occasional mumbled words. Inside his mind though was a battlefield. Back at the mines Ambrose had said for the greater good, from that moment on he couldnt get the image of a man with a gold eye patch and glowing eyes staring back at him in a mirror. Looking exactly like him save for extra scaring he kept saying
"The greater good, The greater good, THE GREATER GOOD. THE GREATER GOOD, THE GREATER GOOD THE GREATER GOOD
His head pounded as much or more than his body did. He wasnt aware of his body being transported to a medical droid.
Looking over Erebus over for a few minutes he spoke to the two real medics there.
Its amazing this man is alive, a testimate to his internal strength. He has five broken ribs, his left shoulder is dislocated, 70% of his body has 3rd degree burns. He should be in absolute pain had it not been for his drugs hed be unconscious from the pain.
With that he pulled on the left arm and pushed on the body, expertly resetting the arm.
Place him in a bacta pod and he will be fine.

Post by Senator Wash Dupp on Aug 17, 2015 22:52:32 GMT -8
It was a beautiful day in Aargau. Perfect for a takeover. No one was using the place, after all, so that meant it was ripe for a change of hands! That was the intent of Senator Wash Dupp of the Galactic Republic, who saw it as a quick and easy way to expand the Republic's reach. He'd had his chauffeur personally ferry him to the world in his personal shuttle and made his way to the Capital Building of New Escrow, fully intent on simply stepping in and assuming control.
That was when he received a call from his chauffeur, Lar Jass, on his personal commlink, and the Senator was not too pleased by the interruption. He frowned as he answered it, walking as he spoke.
What is it? Don't you realize I'm busy?!
There's a problem, sir, those ships in orbit you told us to ignore? Well they're bearing down on my location now!
Psh, the world is abandoned, there are no ships!
If there aren't, sir, then why am I looking right at them?!
His voice sounded panicked, but Wash Dupp scoffed.
This is some elaborate prank. Please don't bother me again.
He cut the link just as Lar Jass began to protest, but the Senator was approaching the Capital Building now. A proud smirk on his face, he began climbing the steps when he was suddenly stopped by a pair of Imperial soldiers.
Halt!
The sudden stop made the Senator flinch and look at them confusedly. Resistance? How was that even possible?! The world was empty and ripe for the picking now! Well, he would just have to see that was amended, as he adjusted his collar and stiffened his short posture in a failed attempt to seem larger.
I am Senator Wash Dupp of the Galactic Republic, here to claim my rightful place as new leader of Aargau!
The soldiers shared a look. They had received word about an intruding Republic craft, and now they knew who exactly the intruder was. An act of intrusion, and a man who simply thought he could march into the Capital Building unopposed simply because there weren't some posts on the planet for some time? It was almost too rich. Smiling beneath their helmets, they looked back toward the Senator, one of them gesturing with his head to follow.
Right this way, we'll show you where to go.
Ah, that was more like how this was supposed to go. The Senator smirked and rubbed his hands together, then gestured onward as he prepared to follow.
Right then, thank you. Lead on, gentlemen!
Senator Wash Dupp was never heard from again.

News came of the an impending visit by the Supreme Commander of the First Order, causing a great jubilee among the citizens. For long, they had served and been loyal to the person known as Nicademus Delvardus. To them, he was a savior, who crushed rebellious elements within the Deep Core and united them as the Imperial Remnant. Even though those days were gone, the markings of Imperial culture and architecture still remained. The people began gathering for the impending visit, cleaning their streets, getting stores and buildings in order, raising the banners and practicing speeches of praise by their orators. Ever since the dissolution of the IGBC, the financial assets of Aargau had been thrown in with the First Order's financial sector for usage within various campaigns. Certain families had been honored with medals and titles, commemorating their donations in moneys to the Imperial cause. A number of the First Order's core soldiers were also from Aargau and hoped to come and visit their homeworld.

The Deep Core. Gifted to the Knights of Ren for their services to the First Order. From its humble beginnings upon Muunlinst, where Soku Ren helped avert an assassination attempt upon Nicademus. To the present day, where the First Order stretched across the stars. The Knights of Ren had contributed their share to its success. Helping lead many of the First Order's campaigns. It was no surprise that Nicademus entrusted them with the very place he had begun his career.
Every resource it had to offer was at their disposal. Which included the great wealth of the banking world, Aargau.
While it still paid the required tithes to the First Order, much of its interest had been focused upon the Deep Core. Solomon Mines had been seized by the Knights of Ren, and its operations used to send materials primarily to the shipyard of Foerost. While required amounts were distributed to Khomm, Prakith, Foerost, and Aargau itself to help further construction efforts. The most valuable of minerals, meanwhile, went straight to the leading banks of New Escrow. Using them to further back the credit and provide additional monetary assets for the Knights of Ren to use

Life on Aargau continued at a steady pace. The banking clans of the world amassing funds from trading with other First Order worlds, and occasionally making under the deal tables with neutral governments to provide them money in return for resources that were funneled into the Empire's vast war machine. But while the First Order benefited from these gains, the Deep Core was the primary beneficiary of these trades. Focusing more resources to reconstruction efforts and improvements, as well as the many secret projects being run

Ships had started arriving to Aargau within days of the first Purge Troopers being deployed to Prakith. While the Ren remained caretakers of the Deep Core, Harnan had decided it was for the best to deploy some of their forces to other worlds. To that end, the Purge Trooper forces were deployed across Aargau and, more specifically, New Escrow to provide additional security. The main Stormtrooper Legions continued to remain a major presence, but Purge Troopers could be seen guarding various infrastructure and acting as bodyguards to high ranking officials, both Civilian and Military

The citizens of Aargau had felt much safer and secure in their position since the arrival of the Purge Trooper forces. This lead to a flow on effect across the economy with people more inclined to trade and make deals that the government could profit from. As thanks for this additional security, the Banking Clans ensured resources were funneled to Prakith and the Citadel of the Ren. A small cut of the overall profits which would provide the Ren with a near limitless supply of resources for what ever it was they saw fit to use them for

Aargau, Muunilinst, Ralltiir, Coruscant... it was like the Tetrarchy of the galactic economy. These four planets represented the banking industry of the Empire that was firmly within its grasp. The Bank of Aargau, the Bank of the Core, the Ralltiir Financial Division, the Imperial Banking Association, the Imperial Economic Administration, and more were attached to these four 'purse' worlds that made the First Order so stable economically. Credits flowed from Aargau, for example, that was invested into what little economy there was in the Deep Core, but also expanded into the neighboring Core Worlds region. Traders and banking officials made their homes on Aargau and ensured a vibrant economy in this thinly populated part of the galaxy. Its role as a former capital has proven to be a wise investment, for its a planet that has yet to see the sun set.

Annelise never let the Grand Moff know how much she enjoyed giving progress reports to investors, the younger woman would tease her in privet if she had. Annelise loved the details and the numbers. As such, she hid her excitement when she was tasked with meeting investors in New Escrow. Most of the reports were good. There had been a few medical breakthroughs that offered enough of a return on investment to help make even the hardest heart feel better about the gifts of charity.

The aide was surprised at the number of investors that wanted to reinvest the dividends. Many of the ones that were the most reluctant to invest were the first to re up. The tax breaks and return on investment were great motivators after seeing things play out. Annelise was able to alter some of the deals, abet carefully. She wasn't a saleswomen by nature, but it helped when the numbers spoke for themselves.

She was able to take some time for herself and visited the gardens. They were wonderful. She was so often kept in administrative buildings and star ships. This was fine, but the Alderaanian in her wanted to see beauty. The gardens did not dissapoint.

Missionary of the Obsidian Order
Aargau had once sat within the purview of the Ren, but shifting authorities had left the planet now under the oversight of Baltasar Delvardus. But that did not mean any fond memories of the Ren had been snapped out of existence over night. The Obsidian Order thus found moving into New Escrow a much easier task, invoking the Knights of Ren to find allies amongst the citizens and leadership of the Banking World. Here, as with most worlds, they would cultivate assets important to the ongoing work and plans of the Arch-Mage

OPERATION: Overshadow
Their orders had been staggered out across several days, with some units and cells striking targets across multiple planets at the same time, while others would strike a day or two later. Too sudden an attack all at once would be too suspicious, and too staggered out would be missed. As with other planets across the Empire, agents were at work here in New Escrow as well. A number of friendly business leaders and military leaders would be soon laid to rest in the ground as their bodies were discovered by their families or servants
