Von watched the little Kushiban and the woman sitting with him, looking down at his right hand he noticed it was shaking uncontrollably. Trying to shake it off he placed his thumb from his left hand into his palm of the right. Standing up from his seat he walked over to where the Kushiban was and stood over the little creature for a moment before sitting directly next to him and just sat there staring intently at the little creature before he spoke to the girl across from him. He did not make eye contact with her as he spoke but the words were meant for her
What can you tell me about Johun Starfield, from what I have been hearing you seem to know a lot about the Masters on this planet. An seeing as Johun is from here I figured I could get as much information on him while I can. Don't get me wrongVon turned to the girl across from him and looked into her eyes, his own eyes flashed a deep orange-red color for split second.I like the man but I am still skeptical about this whole Jedi and Sith faction nonsense. He says Korriban is a bad place to go but I lived there for 16 Years and I am still alive. So Johun who is he...
Looking back at the Kushiban he smiled a devilish grin and then brought up his left hand and started scratching the little Kushibans ears.

*It took some time, but Jade eventually found her way to the dining room. Her stomach had not been silent since leaving the training rooms, sensing the direction she was heading. She paid no mind to the people that were around, only focused on gathering something to eat. She was surprised at all the choices that were available to her. She had not expected, nor had she been used to such choices as she stood there looking between the selections. Opting for something simple, she grabbed a few sandwiches and something to drink. despite how hungry she was, she knew she would not eat much. Thanking those who were there, she made her way over to a vacant table.
As she walked, she noticed the others that were there as well. While she paid them no mind, there was something strange in the feeling that surrounded one. She sat down, her eyes focused on the table as she tried to figure out the feeling. There was something familiar about it, but how she couldn't tell. Did she know any of them? Her gaze moved to them once again, if just slightly. She looked to each of them, but none of their faces registered in her mind. Still, the feeling did not subside. She didn't know why or from where it came, only that it was there. She took a breath as she shook her head, trying to dismiss the feeling. As it settled, she looked to her food again with a smile, her stomach once again rumbling.*
"Alright, I hear you." *Her words were soft and gentle as she began to eat.*

As Von was petting the young kushiban his head jerked up right and looked towards the doors leading into the dining hall. Von knew what the dark side felt like, it was what made him what he was today. He may not have been consumed by it but to grow up on a planet that was soaked with it made it a very easy thing for him to sense out. Someone had walked into the dining hall just know and they reeked of the dark side, scanning the room he looked for someone that was new to the group that was here when he walked in and besides a droid their was only one person. A girl probably a few years older than him, she seemed to keep to herself. Von watched her as she gathered her food and make her way to her seat, though what Von didn't know was that she also sensed him. Von though had the advantage of sniffing out the girl first before she figured out who he was. Slowly rising out of the seat that he was sitting in, his hand drawing away from the little fox. Not turning to the woman he was speaking to he flipped his hood over his head covering his eyes and nose. Before he walked towards the direction of the woman he spoke to the one across from the kushiban
On second thought, I just realized I have to speak to someone. Nice talking to you.
Von didn't wait for a response as he quietly made his way over to the girl sitting alone. Grabbing an apple he flopped himself directly in front of her his elbows propping himself up and an apple in one hand and dagger in the other. Slowly pealing away the skin and not making eye contact with the girl he spoke in a hush tone. He didn't want wandering ears to hear his conversation with the girl.
Tell me how did someone like you get into this academy, I thought the Sith and the Jedi don't get along to well. So I say again why is someone like you who reeks of the dark side sitting in the dining hall of a Jedi academy.
Von could be asked the same question, and for the most part he didn't believe in the whole Sith/Jedi roles but he noticed a lot took this to heart so maybe he could use it for something if not have some fun with it.
Sniffing the air around the girl a tormented smile creaked at the edge of his lips.I take back what I said, your not Sith. Your scent would be more familiar than what it is now. No you smell of weakness, you barely tasted the hint of strength and found it to much to handle. I suppose thats why your here….Whats your name …..

*Focused on her eating, she didn't notice the boy leave the group and make his way over to her. When he sat down in front of her and spoke, she froze, keeping her eyes on her food, not looking up to him. She wasn't afraid of him, nor was she shy or embarrassed. She wasn't even really surprised at him suddenly sitting in front of her. It was his words, his tone that bothered her. She had assumed Jedi to be much more friendly and welcoming. Arvis had been as such, but this boy was different. The very first things was to accuse her of being a Sith, yet, by the way her father spoke of them, this boy seemed to talk like one.
She kept her posture, refraining from reaching over and smacking him. Slowly she put her sandwich down and let her hands fold together. Slowly her head rose a bit until her shining emerald eyes looked up to him. But as soon as they were within his sight, they darkened as if a shadow was beginning to fall over their light. She hadn't realized that since the day her parents died, since her step into darkness, her eyes always darkened if she was anything but cheerful. When she spoke, there was a calmness about it, gentle even, expected of a young girl taking a serious, yet calm tone.*
"And I thought the Jedi were much more friendly and welcoming. Tell me, does everyone fall to that charm? How about you try that again if you'd like for any of those questions to be answered."
*She let her eyes focus on him a bit more before she returned to eating. She had noticed that the feeling that surrounded the group had moved settling around her. Clearly, it came from him. He spoke of her being in darkness like he could sense it, read her mind and dip into her past. She thought about it for a moment, about him feeling her darkness and what she felt coming from him. Her mind reflected on that day, when she lost sight of any light, diving into a desire to kill the men that were in front of her. What she felt flowing through her then was what she could feel now. So that was what darkness felt like. And that explained why it was familiar to her; they both had stepped into darkness. But she continued to eat. while curious, she wasn't going to give him the satisfaction of answering any questions nor ask any until he seemed to show a more friendly and genuine desire to know her. It was sad though that the second person she met talked to her like that.*

Von smiled at the girl before him, he smirked as he laughed at her words. Von placed the now peeled apple on the table along with the dagger. Sighing he raised his hood over his shoulders allowing his view to be unaltered. He could now see her with his own eyes. Leaning back a little he spoke in return to what the girl had said.
I suppose Jedi are supposed to be kind and welcoming but when did I ever give you the impression that I was a Jedi. No I am just someone who is looking at new options in life, not a lot of Choices for me back on Korriban. Figured here I could learn a few things and maybe make a name for myself. But my master isnt took kind on my out look on life. Says I need to be one with the force and bull shit along those lines. Don't know what he sees in me other than my huge tap into the force or the ability to use it that is. I just see it as a tool, it kept me alive this long. Anyway I suppose I can ask nicely, why do you smell of desperation and guilt. I know what I speak of because I lived in darkness for 16 years and look at me. I am still fine, no matter what any Jedi says I am still the same ole Von.
Von sighed he was curious about this place and perhaps it wasn't a good idea to piss off someone who may be important besides, he wasn't to sure if his case was aloud to be trained.

*Jade finished the bite she had in her mouth before setting the sandwich down again. Even still he wasn't the friendliest. She expected something more around the lines of "Hi, how are you? I'm so and so. What's brings you here?" But she could tell from the way he handled himself, the tone in his voice, and now what he said about himself. This is probably the friendliest he'd get. She gave a sigh as she scratched her head through her silver hair. She looked at him again with a focused look.*
"I guess that will do. My name is Jade Hanac. As for the reason I'm here, I'm here because I chose to come here, nothing more. I could have easily gone anywhere. As for desperation and guilt," *Her headed dropped slightly though her gaze never left him.* "I have no clue as to what you're talking about. Neither are feelings I have."
*She closed her eyes and leaned back a bit, letting her arms cross in front of her. As her eyes opened, she caught a glimpse of her blaster at her leg. The slightest thought of her holding it just in case passed through her mind but it left just as quickly. She studied the boy in front of her, the long black hair, the brown eyes, every detail, letting burn into her mind. He had the darkness about him, even his outlook appeared darker, yet he was here. She could only wonder why he was here.*
"Korriban, huh? My father told me somethings about it. It's said that darkness thrives there, ready to corrupt any who let their guard down. True enough you are here, but why? Wouldn't someone like you be more suited to stand with the Sith guys?"

Von looked towards the ceiling as if he was looking towards the sky towards Korriban. Sighing at the woman's question about Korriban he looked over at her as he traced his dagger.
Korriban is a harsh and dangerous planet, your master was right in a way. If you let your guard down the planet will try to kill you. But I survived, I lived on Korriban for 16 years, most of those years were by myself. Having to survive the planets crushing will to kill you. I survived because I knew what was needed to be done and I don't regret any of it. I know how to kill a bull rancor without having to pick up a gun. I can handle a sword far better than most. But I never met a Sith nor do I believe in your idea of Sith and Jedi, the idea of two must seem pointless. As my master sees it I am in tuned with Korribans nexus of dark energy. But I have another idea, I was born out of the Nexus. I was born from no father, the planet did try and kill me yes. But over time less things tried to help me and tried to avoid me. But these are just theories from a kid, but this kid could take you on in a sparring match.
Von loved to fight it was who he was, he was a attack first think later. Which wasn't generally a Jedi trait but again he wasn't born a Jedi or with that mindset
You want to know who I am, Then spar with me. You will see and I can get a feel for you. So what do you say, we will have to get a second to over watch the fight. More for your protection then mine, I tend to get a bit into it. But I am sure it will be good for both of us to test our metal against another being.
Von remembered how Johun reached out in the force with him and how it felt. So smiling he attempted the same thing with Kulaan. He could feel her nearby but didnt feel like looking for her.
Kulaan, I know your out and about but would you be willing to look over a sparring match I met someone who has a hint of dark side on them and I want to see if they are still tapped into it. I want to know if you can over look it and bring it to a stop if I get a little out of hand.

*Jade listened intently as he spoke about Korriban. True enough, he must have had a strong will if he was able to survive it as a kid, especially by himself. But from what little she knew of the Dark-side, whatever existed there had left something with him, that was for sure. It was beyond her to speculate any further. All she knew was what little her father told her, and that wasn't much. Her father had left the Jedi here when she was born. When she was two, they left so to get away from any who came to ask him to return and to keep her from being dragged into it. He did, however, train her a little in using a sword, blaster and the Force. But the abilities she gained was meant for the everyday and low-class scum. He never pushed her training to match with Force-sensitives or even those extremely skilled in fighting.
And here came the challenge. Outside of her father, she had never sparred with anyone. The only time she had used a weapon otherwise practicing was on the thugs that killed her family. Her only use of a lightsaber was a training saber testing with a remote not thirty minutes ago. By the way he held himself, considered his skill, she already knew the outcome. By the simply saying how much he'd get into it, she never be able to handle any of his strength. She leaned forward a looked at him, giving off a small sigh.*
"You just met me and don't know anything about me and you're challenging me to a sparring match. Let me save you the trouble. You'd win without much of a fight. While I can wield a sword well enough, my skills are not at the level of any here. I was taught enough to protect myself against the normal and everyday. I'm sure you'd overwhelm me quickly enough. I'm proud of my abilities but I'm not fool enough to jump into a fight, sparring or otherwise, that is more than I can handle."
*Deep down, part of her had the desire to accept the challenge. There was a stirring to test herself against someone who knew what they were doing, to truly measure her skills. But she had to think, be rational. She was new here and probably not even fully set in with the academy yet. She wasn't even sure she should be having a sparring match without permission. She just got here and didn't feel like being kicked out.*

Von's body language gave off a posture of disapproval and disgust in Jades words and her reason for turning down his challenge. Not sure whether he wanted to sit with this girl or argue with her over something so stupid as to quick because of an impossible looking wall. So Von did both, standing to his feet he brushed off his robes and sighed. Clearly this girl was nothing like him, nor would he find many who could challenge him on another level. Von grew up with no one, he didn't have friends, he didn't have family and true his social skills were far from perfect but his way of communication was always in fighting. Disappointed and angry Von wasn't sure how to reply to the girl. So he spoke the first things that came to his mind.
Forget my offer, I don't want to fight someone like you. You quit before you even try and attempt something and personally I can't stand looking at you when you say that. Do you think I had that option growing up by myself on Korriban. If I wanted to eat I had to kill something, and I went some times weeks without having complete meal. When I was 8 I took on my first Bull Rancor and do you think I stopped and considered whether I was going to live or die. NO! because if I didn't try and kill something I would die. But yes I lost the first time and got a scar down my chest where the Rancor tried to grab me. But I learned from my mistake and tried over and over till finally I killed the beast. But you know what I took from all those mistakes, I figured out that no matter what life throws at me I could take it on head on and not think twice about the failure. Win or loose you still learn something from a sparring match or a fight against an enemy.
Von let his robes fall to the ground, he stood before Jade wearing nothing but his issued pants and shoes. He let Jade see his multitude of scars running up and down his chest, arms, neck, and back. The scar tissue was intense from crude healing methods and wounds over the same area. Though across his chest was the a very remarkable scar, one that traced from his right side of his chest down to the left side of his lower peck. It was apparent that it was deep and life threatening wound at the time. Von clenched his fist in disgust, over every thing, he never showed anyone his pain and suffering that Korriban gave him. His scars were his physical proof of it.
Personally I don't know how long your going to last here. I don't know whether you intend to keep that mind set but if the Sith are as bad as what I hear and they use the dark side of the force. Then you might as well leave here now. Because some day you will come across someone stronger, faster, and a far better fighter than you. An you wont be able to decline the fight, because that person will kill you. If I know anything about what I want to do for the Jedi and that is to train hard, take what ever they throw at me and become the strongest warrior here. I will never turn from a fight that I know that I have even 1% of winning, because I will do what ever it takes to protect those I care and hold dear to me. So as of now I have never had family, no one that I could call my own. But Since Johun took me on and I met Kulaan I know I have to become strong for them. An I swear if you tell them I said that I'll lie.
The air around Von was heavy and thick, he was unintentionally tapping into the force and his anger was fueling his connection. Von bit down hard on his lower lip till he could taste the feint hint of copper. Holding back he grabbed his robes and headed for the door. He had to let go of some of this anger. It may not make sense to Jade but what she said was the most disrespectful thing she could say to Von. But that was how he was. Von left for the sparring grounds.

*Jade listened to to his words. She didn't so much as move a single muscle, didn't even let her eyes shine in the least. But the words he spoke began to tear at her. She already had a desire to fight him anyway and had he simply asked again she would have ended up agreeing to it, if not at least waited until tomorrow. She never viewed life with such an outlook. She came her to train and become stronger because she knew she wasn't up to par. She thought it was logical to progress oneself at a steady pace, not pushing into something that was beyond what you were capable of taking on. She might have been the age of a Knight who was experienced in combat and the Force but she was not. And to add to it, she had only just gotten here. She needed to get set with everything here.
But his words spoke truth, a truth she didn't want to admit to. She didn't even try to take him on, just shut everything down, knowing she'd lose. In truth, she'd never know exactly what she could do until she did it. Though she thought she'd last well here with the proper training and she didn't see anything wrong with the mindset. But as he said, if she ended up encountering an enemy that was stronger than her, they wouldn't just let her back out. They'd kill her all the same, only she'd die shamefully and without any sort of honor. Her fists tightened slightly as he let his cloak fall. Her first thought was why he was doing that in the dining hall around all the others. Then her gaze focused on his scars. There were so many, the proof of his story.
As he finished his speech and left, she followed him only with her eyes until he was gone. Once out of sight, she leaned over the table and looked at the last remnants of her food. But she couldn't bring herself to eat. Her appetite was gone. She let out only a sigh before standing to her feet and leaving, dumping her trash in the can on her way back to her room.*

The aromas of different cuisines fill his nostrils as Talon enters, making his hunger that much more apparent to him. His body aches and shivers and his eyes loose focus for a brief moment since he hasn't had a meal for the last few days. Stumbling over to the serving counters, he picks up a number of dishes and drink before setting his meal down at the nearest table. There is only a handful of academy residents in here at this time, most are enjoying the peace of night to grab a few minutes to meditate, while others converse and eat.
The table that Talon occupies is currently empty of anyone else for now. Not caring if it was full or empty, he devours his meal with gusto, not stopping till his tray is clean and his hunger sated.
feeling the pangs of hunger have finally left his body and mind, he now concentrates on who to speak to about formal training here. He remembers the kindness Master Roma showed him in the past, and smiles with affection for the Padawan he sent some time with the last time he was here, recalling her name as Terra.
Not knowing if they are both in the academy now, he tidies his tray away and returns to his table before slowing his mind and body to calm so he enters a meditative trance so that he can sort his thoughts out from the last couple of months.
He can always find someone to talk to later..

Arvis entered the dining hall, feeling one of his late evening snack cravings coming on. Given that he had put a full day's work in and hadn't eaten much was probably the reason for it. He made a mental note to adjust his schedule a little bit when he got a chance.
The dining hall wasn't very full at this time, so it was easier to spot the unfamiliar face sitting at one of the tables. Figuring he may as well introduce himself, the Knight walked over to the table."Mind if join you?"

*Jade made her way into the dining hall and noticed a few people around. She noticed Arvis talking to someone, but she didn't want to interrupt. Right now, the only thing that matter was getting something to eat. Going through, she grabbed a couple sandwiches and a thing of water before finding an empty table to sit. It was only yesterday that she first came here and met up with Von. She could still remember the conversation well. Despite it only being a day, it had felt much longer now. She let of a sigh as she took up her sandwich and began to eat.*

*Jade took her time eating her sandwiches, knowing she just spent two hours training already. Eating quickly would end up making her sick. She also had no where important to be so she had all the time in the world. The only thing she knew she'd be doing would be back in the training area, working further on her skills with the lightsaber. She didn't know much more involved in expanding her skills in the Force, so she'd stick with what she knew and could improve on and that was combat. Finishing off her food she deposited the trash before heading out once again.*

Opening his other eye, he noticed he was still in the dining hall where he had eaten and meditated for the last few hours. Pointing to the table and gesturing around himself for the other to join him, he gave his newer companion a slight smile and a bow of the head. "Talon" He then awaited the name of the one who is joining him.

Arvis smiled and sat down as Talon introduced himself."Arvis Valthomer. Is this your first time here at the academy?"The Knight didn't recall seeing this man before so he could only guess that he was a newcomer.

Talon gave a small chuckle and a slight grin as he said "No".
For an instant impossible for a normal being to notice the happy look upon his face changed to that of hurt and sadness as he remembers when he was just a lad, helping his family on Corellia.
They live in a cabin deep in a forest, with only those who have become lost being able to find its location. The sun is warm through the thick canopy where its able to reach the forest floor..
He tries to be big and strong like his father, chopping wood, building...
He wants to be careful and patient as his mother, as they hunt for food in the forest...
It seems like an eternity since he had a memory of his family, there only a few left but the strongest one is when they disappeared and the forest burned. He can still feel the heat even now...
The moment passed, and he pointed to the Jedi as he smiled once more.
"Tell me, do you remember hearing about a ship crashing in the courtyard a while back?".
Talon chuckled once more

Arvis nodded, not recalling any previous sighting of Talon around the academy before. Of course, he was often quite busy and didn't keep track of who came and went so there was that to consider.
The Knight raised an eyebrow at Talon's question."Hm...honestly, I cannot say that I have. Or maybe I did and just forgot..."

Bringing his left arm horizontally in front of his chest, a holoimage started to appear along his forearm, depicting various menu choices in a variety of coloured shades arranged in a circular pattern.
He deftly shifted his right hand over the interface and whirled the menu clockwise until 'Data' was highlighted before swiping to the right, bringing up the data sub-menu.
Scrolling the different headings down, he found what he was looking for. Lightly tapping his choice cleared the menus away to reveal an old recording from the bridge cameras of the 'Hope', showing the ship's crash from orbit down into the Academy courtyard before switching to an internal view where his unconscious body was slumped against a bulkhead, sparks flew and fires raged around him. After a few moments figures could be seen entering the wreckage attempting a rescue, Master Serrin Roma could be clearly made out. The camera feeds shut-off and talon selects another recording, this one in one of the academy training rooms with Master Roma again, various students and teachers accompanying the Republic Senator Nadwai.
The feed cuts again and Talon looked at the Jedi before him, giving a slight shrug.
"I had a crash, and stayed for a while, leaving to asist a negotiation between the Tarkin family on Roon and the Republic before being Recruited into the Imperial Remnant.." His face hardened a touch.
"..Whom i have since left due to 'lack of communications'.."
His hands raised up and imitated quote marks with his fingers.
"And now I have come home to try and find some peace and quiet, and possibly some formal training, while what is rest of my combat group resides on my ship in the hanger. They have expressed an interest in joining the academy as i do".
He nodds slightly at his companion

Arvis observed the recording with a raised eyebrow, wondering just how he could have missed that. He just didn't remember being there when it happened, or where he had been at the time. Strange...anyway, it looked like a fairly serious crash so he was glad to see that Talon hadn't been permanently harmed by it. Of course, if Serrin Roma was involved with the recovery, then it wasn't surprising that Talon had pulled through.
Arvis smiled."Well this academy has plenty of places to relax if you need to. And we can certainly find a place here for your crew as well."
