So I just posted my shots missing Urdak. We'll see how this plays out now. Hello everyone. Sorry to hop onto your thread like this but I noticed everyone seems to be checking this thread so this would be the best place to get a message along to everyone. I most likely will sound like a dick with what I have to say and I apologize in advance for that but some things need to be stated before any of this goes any further. Firstly. Clark you did see the post early about post orders right? Yet you posted twice before either myself or Urdak have had a chance to post. I'm not sure if you were trying to defuse the situation by suddenly deciding your shots missed but either way you SHOULDN'T have done that. Post orders are important when writing. One because it helps give everyone a chance to reply without completely post cutting them, two because things don't get as cluttered and unorganized as Urdak said earlier, and three it's just plain common courtesy to your fellow RPers. Secondly. Our group will be leaving now to avoid this situation from developing any further. If you do continue to follow us as you did outside the bar then you're agreeing to putting your characters lives on the line. So when we leave back off or prepare for a fight because this will be the only time we'll go out of our way to avoid a situation you guys have caused. Thirdly. Ty it's fine that your post didn't have any real effect on our characters with the exception of the last one. But I'm gonna emphasis post orders again here because in the three posts you made managed to walk in on this mess, have a conversation with Mirania, and enter the fight after Clark had shot his blaster off and before the shots had either hit or missed. It screws up the timeline when you do things like that and it doesn't benefit Urdak or my own participation in this temporary SL with your crew. Anyway that's all I have to say about that for now. Take what I said however you like or with whatever attitude you wish to read it in. I highly suggest keeping in mind, and keeping to, posting orders in the future. It helps with generating positive experiences with people you may write with who may even have a slower schedule than your own and good writing in general. Also follow us and be prepared to die because I'm not known for being merciful when I go all out on killing others.

Dick. Yes. lol. But also right, and I appropriate the constructive criticism. And yes that was what I was doing there, diffusing.

Well technically speaking I'm not part of this crew, I'm simply there to hire/recruit them, I apologize if I rushed but it wasn't without reason. I have a job to do and that is to get the best of the best on board with this project, so I needed to insert myself somehow. A quick conversation was the easiest way and I figured I would interact with someone who was actually involved, but I suppose I could have bypassed that by putting it all in one post and NPCing a bystander who happened to see the whole thing I just thought that would cheapen it.
As for post orders, I'm a fan, but there are exceptions to every rule.
Now let me get to my intentions for involving myself in the fight, first off I had no intention of actually fighting, I was hoping to get to talk to one or both of you IC along with the rest of these guys to further the backstory between our characters and open up more opportunities to RP together in the future.

A quick conversation is fine. Interacting with another player in the situation is fine. But when you're managing to join the group, have a conversation, give orders to your current crew members, draw your weapons, and join the fray all in the matter of time it takes two blaster bolts to be shot from a blaster and fly towards another play it kinda throws the timeline out of wack. That being said I agree sometimes post orders aren't necessary. For example when one group is doing something on one side of the city/planet and another is doing something somewhere completely different. But that isn't the circumstance here. The moment you included yourself in the group here you joined the short storyline that was going on between our characters and thus entered the posting order. As for RPing together in the future. I'd like to emphasise again what I said previously. Of course I would write with you lot again in the future but given the circumstances our characters are leaving off on I assure you future interaction between our two characters won't be on friendly terms. Namely because my character isn't going to exactly have warm fuzzy feelings towards your characters! I just won't be spending time going after and hunting you guys, not unless I'm getting paid for it of course!

I chose Yractos as a meeting place specifically because it was abandoned. The chances of someone outside our group showing up seemed slim at best, as there are far better meeting spots in the galaxy than a single hole in the wall bar created specifically for the purpose of our story.
I feel obliged to point out that the both of you showed up unannounced while we were trying to get our team going. That's all fine and dandy, it wasn't a closed RP or anything like that. Shit happens. It would be greatly appreciated, however, if you fine folks would stop complaining about how we're doing things. It's more than a little galling to be lectured by someone who showed up unannounced and uninvited and inserted themselves into our RP without so much as a "Hail fellow, well met" PM to get a feel for the place. We will do things at our own pace and in the order that best suits the story. Since you're already there, we'll work with or around you as necessary, and you're more than welcome to deconflict yourselves at any point with no hard feelings. That being said, I'm neither obliged nor inclined to accommodate your apparent need to tell us how things should be, nor am I particularly willing to let that go unanswered. I offer my deepest and sincerest apologies if my stance on the matter offends you, but alas, that's just how things are.
Any questions? No? Good.
Now, for the sake of clarity, who is there for the STARS recruitment?

Me, me, I am! Pick me! Oh, I'm ever so tough, pick me!
I would rant again on about the benefits of good planning, but I think I've done that to death. I will say though that with TMM announcing new arrivals, and these mercs rocking up when we are recruiting mercs, heck, I thought we WERE on the same team… Anyways, we’ve all had a lot of learnings and I’m sure we’re all better for it. On with the show!

I'm only there to recruit you, Arn, and Clark to become the first members of Team Alpha. Though you still probably need a couple more people to complete your team, because as I'm told, STARS team are made up of about 5 people and you currently have 3.
I would, however, like to extend an offer to @mirania to join the team if that is alright with Gulliver since it's his team.

Thanks for the offer Ty, but I kinda have something set up already. I do appreciate the offer though and I'll keep it in mind in case plans change.

Yeah, gotta admit I was confused about the whole thing. I was not expecting you other three to show up and when you did I assumed you had got in on it on the SL at the last moment. Kinda turned into a clusterf--k

I initially thought that the Mysterious Man had sent them to join too, which would have rounded out the team fairly well I think. It was also another reason why I sort of rushed, I thought the team was breaking apart before it even got together.

Yeah our bad. We didn't know you guys were gathering there. This whole thing was just one giant miscommunication.

It was what Mir said, miscommunication like I said in pm I was unaware of your crew there or you forming there so I took the bar and interfering with Bravassa hostile, though I don't know anything about your group until I saw Aran post the first time and saw he had posted in this thread. Which is when I posted the first time offering a chance to break it off, but was shot at. But then rp had already happened, and I couldn't change what was already set in motion.

Regardless of how and why things worked out the way they did, I think we can all agree that it sure did make things a lot more interesting

I offer my deepest and sincerest apologies if my stance on the matter offends you, but alas, that's just how things are. Any questions? No? Good. Now, for the sake of clarity, who is there for the STARS recruitment? Well Gulliver I offer my deepest apologies as well, I'm not offended by your comment, but I will respond. There's no need to say 'we' when you talk about our group complaining. At the moment I am the one complaining not Urdak, just to clarify. Now that being said as far as I can tell neither of our groups knew about the other meeting on the planet, which is why when I first posted I was still under the assumption you were a part of the same group as us. But that proved to be incorrect, and it seemed our groups got thrown together unintentionally on both sides. My apologies for that confusion. But that being said we were already removed ourselves from your meeting place in the bar before YOU specifically chose to insert yourself within our RP along with the rest of your group by following us outside the bar. But I digress your comment about you doing things at your own pace is just bad practice. Collaborative writing requires actual collaboration which is why we were willing to wait on you, Gulliver, to get another chance to post before we responded. We got thrown together in this mess by accident at the very least a bit of courtesy should've been enacted. But I suppose not everyone feels the same way about what is considered roleplaying courtesy. Either way with that I'll leave your thread alone, this isn't the most appropriate place to debate about this. If you have anything else to say Gulliver you can always message me but I won't be continuing the conversation here.

You suppose right, but in the words of the great philosopher Socrates: "Wait, I drank what?" In other words, ain't nothing to discuss, debate, or otherwise converse about. So long and thanks for all the fish buddy.
Sorry for the lag folks. Real life is a bitch right now, and posting time is going to be rare until I get back stateside. Can't say how long that'll be. You guys are welcome to move on without me. I'll either catch up later or not at all, depending upon where things stand when I get back.
