Hey everyone!
I'm something of a noob to this board, but I've done some text-based RPG's in the past. I'm looking to either recruit a crew to go on some adventures in the Wild Regions, or perhaps even join some crew currently traversing the vast expanse of the Wild Regions. Someone point me in the right direction!
Name: David Brightsky
Species: Human
Height: 1.7 meters
Languages: Basic, Huttese, Bocce, Sullustese, Yuuzhan Vong
Hair Color: Green
Background:
David Brightsky was born on the planet Adumar in Wild Space to parents who were enslaved by a local bounty hunter following a bad bet during a game of chance. David spent much of his early life in bondage to a series of owners, including a Hutt and a Sullustian. It was during this period of bondage that David initially discovered he was force sensitive, but fearing for his safety if his owners should discover this, he chose to avoid any type of formal force training. During the Second Galactic Civil War, David briefly flew the venerated X-Wing fighter with the Galactic Alliance, though he left soon after Adumar broke with the Alliance. Upon leaving the Alliance, David became a freighter pilot, plying routes between worlds, avoiding areas of conflict, and above all else trying to stay away from the travails of galactic politics.
David has never been a supporter of either the Jedi or Sith and vaguely supports the goals and aspirations of the Jedi. As a freighter pilot and sometimes-smuggler, he has worked for almost every type of paying customer. However, David has always stayed away from the less reputable sources of income, including transporting slaves, and has all but avoided weapons smuggling.
David’s smuggling and shipping routes are entirely unorthodox. Rather than staying tied to formal shipping lanes and the great trade routes, David instead chooses to map his own individual hyperspace routes. Although this is a time-consuming process, David’s latent force abilities have allowed him to tap into the force as a way of guiding his ship. This has given him an edge on the competition in terms of speed of delivery, as well as safety of the cargo.
David’s personal freighter, Star’s End, is a heavily modified Dynamic-Class Freighter he found abandoned and drifting far outside the spacelanes around Dantooine. Onboard he found the bodies of the crew of the freighters, killed during the Jedi Civil War thousands of years before, and a T-3 Series Utility Droid named T3-D4. How the freighter had ended up there was a total mystery to David. He spent a year rebuilding the freighter and spent what seemed a small fortune to reactivate the T-3 utility droid, which he had initially intended to sell for a large profit. However, once D4 was activated and explained the circumstances of his deactivation and death of the ship’s crew, David chose instead to keep the little droid around. D4 is David’s only real companion onboard Star’s End. With a few exceptions, he has chosen not to have any crew onboard the freighter, which has allowed him to save a small fortune, but has lead him to a somewhat lonely existence out in Wild Space.
Because of David’ unorthodox travel routes, he has also discovered a long-abandoned Old Republic Thranta-Class Corvette, disabled and evacuated during the Jedi Civil War, found outside the Bastion System. Although David has not been able to repair all of the systems, D4 and he were able to repair the hyperspace motivator and fly it to his base of operations outside the Adumar System. For the moment, David is considering returning to the Adumar System to break his long solitude and recruit a crew to man the Thranta-Class Corvette, bring it back to life, and make some credits. Piracy is not on the agenda, but where credits are needed, a way must be found.
