The Mines Running deep beneath the ground of Aargau the mines upper levels are well lit and designed for humans to get the large veins of metal. If one was to take the elevators to the lower levels however they will find that life down there would be hard pressed to survive for an extended period of time. Due to this machines are sent down to dig up the minerals present down in the darkThe Exterior A flat expanse surrounds the compound Due to the mines being located on an Imperial world it soon found itself being armed to the teeth as a mini base. The walls was 20 feet high and 10 feet thick. It was dotted with security towers and turrets that would defend the facility against attack... The walls and turrets were elevated to 30 feet, so they could look clearly over the walls. The walls were constructed in a square around the main facility.Storage Compound The Storage compound was a heavily reinforce vault where droids and workers would store raw material ready for shipment. What made it unique was the Large hydraulic lift that would raise containers of minerals all the way through the facility to the Landing Pads.*Forges Here the minerals that are taken from the ground are purified, sent here before storage the furnaces that dot the buildings are kept on nearly all day smelting materials only being turned off to allow them to cool down. Landing Pad The open air landing pad was constructed on the roof of the Mining Facility. The huge expanse and flat surface allowed for Bulk frieghtors and other large transports to land easily without space constraints and pick up their cargoes. Anti-grav emplacements around the roof and tractor beams helped distribute weight and guide in heavily loaded transports.Administration Center This was the nerve center and control point for the entire mining operation. Large control panels and holo0tables allowed the facilities administrators to monitor the productivity, safety and shipments of the base. They also monitored power levels and incoming transports. There was only one entrance a large titanium door that could be locked and magnetically sealed. The entrance as constantly guarded by at least four men. |
