Graemon Gorgano, Baron of Fondor, was ahead of the delegation with Jedi Master Carak and her apprentice beside him. The party gives the Queen Mother her due respect, giving polite bows and dignified, but silent, greetings when it was custom around royals. This was something that Graemon was used to, considering the Tapani Sector had its own nobility and royals akin to that of the Hapes Consortium. After all, a great empire within the Tapani Sector once existed long ago and it was said that the Gorgano family was descended from a certain Emperor Gorgano IV. Whether this was true or not didn't matter right now. What mattered was the future of the Coalition and the desire to have Hapes become an ally or ensure the Consortium became a member of the growing nation.
Graemon Gorgano steps forward, bowing his head to Queen Mother Emelie Ka.
Your Majesty, I am Graemon Gorgano, Baron of Fondor and the duly appointed representative of the Corellian Coalition. I would like to introduce to you Jedi Master Carak and Apprentice Iseul, representatives of the Corellian Jedi. We wish to offer our thanks for accepting our audience.
Once more, the Fondorian bows before getting right to the business at hand.
Queen Mother, I must ask a very important question: what are the Consortium's plans against the resurgent Empire?

Their role in the proceedings primarily to act in an advisory capacity for Baron Gorgano, Jedi Master Carak Fervse'dra, a diminuitive, elderly female Bothan with the watchful, poised feline grace of a dancer, and her padawan, Iseul Yi, a lean and willowy, pink skinned and purple haired thirteen year old Zeltron with a practiced tranquil air that matches her Master's, both remain silent as the Baron takes the lead in the negotiations with the Queen Mother, each bowing respectfully when introduced and then remaining still a few paces behind Baron Gorgano.
Carak finds little fault in Baron Gorgano's lead in to the proposal he has come to make; the Queen Mother's answer to his question will certainly make it clear whether or not the Hapan's are likely to share the Coalition's sentiments where the Empire is concerned, and could also, depending on how much the Queen Mother elaborates on her answer, help him determine an appropriate tack to take should that answer suggest the Hapan's have no love for the Empire. As Prince Lassiter is almost certain to have passed on to his mother the reasons Baron Gorgano has sought an audience with her, Carak suspects that the Queen Mother will know precisely why the Baron has elected to open with the question has he posed to her.

Lassiter continued to watch on as the delegations began. Listening to the Baron speak, Lassiter had to give it to the man, he knew how to speak in a throne room. Respect where respect was due, after all. The Jedi though, they caught his attention. Keepers of the peace. Defenders of the innocent. The stories surrounding the Jedi were vast and varied. Much like the Consortium's own history. Though with a little less mysticism and the wielding of laser swords. Continuing to listen, he wondered exactly how his mother would handle the situation...though he wouldn't have to wait much longer.
Queen Mother Emelie Ka. Aged like fine wine and having withstood the tests of both time and politics, sat upon the throne and inclined her head as the representatives from this Coalition approached and were introduced by Baron Gorgano. While she wasn't overly fond of meeting with male delegates, this one at least knew how to address her with some modicum of respect. And then came the true purpose of their arrival here. The First Order. A resurgent Empire that was apparently shaking the galaxy to its very foundations. While the Consortium had no quarrel with the First Order, and it, in turn, left the Consortium alone, Ka knew it was only a matter of time before this Empire would come breathing down their necks.
"Welcome to my court, Baron Gorgano of Fondor. And Master Jedi Carak and Isuel. As of right now, the Consortium has no outstanding quarrel with this Empire. We have not ventured beyond the cluster and they have not poked their noses into our domain. However, I suspect that it is only a matter of time before they too, come to our home. To answer your question, Baron Gorgano, the Consortium will do as it always has when it comes to outsiders. We will drive them from our borders and ensure that the Consortium remains intact! I can see that you are a man of stature, Baron. Military, perhaps? And ruler of Fondor, correct? Let me pose a question to you. Were you in my position, what would your decision be? We are a strong and independent people. We have accepted outsider help in the past. And it has brought us nothing but grief..."
Leaning back in her chair, Ka watched the Baron carefully. Lassiter, on the other hand, merely watched the exchanged. His mother wasn't wrong. Past events show that accepting outsiders help usually led to trouble for the entire Consortium. The most recent was when Varro Calistarious took control and used the Royal Navy, among other things, to achieve his own ends. If this Baron was even remotely aware of the Consortium's recent history, he would know that what he was implying by asking his question, was a very delicate matter right now. Though Lassiter said nothing for the time being. This was his mother's court, after all.

The Queen Mother answered truthfully and so would Graemon.
True, the most recent of outside help did nothing but bring you grief... but if I were you, Queen Mother, I would still extend my hand to those willing to join the fight. Alone, I know I can not stem against the tide of the Empire. I have seen their fleets firsthand, Your Majesty, I have seen their effectiveness and their higher state of technology. This is not some revived Empire... it is a new and evolved Imperial successor.
The Baron speaks truthfully, he did not care if he sounded blunt or eloquent at this stage. For the truth hurt the most and there was no need to sweeten the purpose of his words. No, it was better to bring forth the cold and hard facts. This Empire was not like the ones of the past. It was firmly united and strong, their Emperor charismatic and diligent, her commanders seasoned and resourceful, her soldiers loyal to the point of fanaticism.
I would fear every waking moment if I stood alone against this Empire, Your Majesty. I have seen warships old and new and the fearsome firepower at the hands of these Imperials puts any nation before to shame... I have seen their Resurgent battlecruisers tear through our ships like bullets piercing flesh.
Graemon pauses for a moment, letting his words linger and echo through the throne room.
The Consortium and her people are proud of their heritage, proud of their sovereignty and their might. For yours is a grand history that shines among the many bright stars... but so was every other nation that has fallen to this Empire. The Muuns and the IGBC, the Chiss Ascendancy, the Galactic Alliance, and various planetary governments. Countless more could fall within the next year.
The Fondorian exhales deeply, wondering if Fondor may one day see Imperial fleets over her surface one day.
The Tapani Sector has such pride. But we knew that we needed allies and that's why I convinced them the need and necessity to join the Coalition. You do not need to fight alone, Queen Mother... there was a time with the Consortium once helped a Coalition fight against tyranny and oppression. In fact, there were many times it has done so. I have come here to offer that possibility once more.
Gorgano then made his closing statement.
There is still pride in having reliable friends and allies, Queen Mother. People who you can fight alongside with. People who you can look at and call comrade, friend, ally, brother, sister... because we fight to see the galaxy freed and reborn in light and not darkness. To be honest with an answer, if I were you, Queen Mother, I would rather accept the helping hand than fear the storm.

Elsewhere in the palace, Alyalli, dressed more suggestively than usual in a black skirt, white blouse, tall black boots, and matching stockings. Sitting in one of the large, vaulted gardens in the palace, she watched as turquoise water flowed throughout the lush plants, heavily laden with flowers and fruit. Sipping a glass of pinkish Oi-Oi champagne, watching the bubbles floating in the thin glass. The trees in the garden had several species of small, multicolored birds on them, who flew about, chirping happily. It was a tranquil space and one that the young commander enjoyed to relax in, even though she was only there because of the respect the few guards for the garden had for her. It was also a space she enjoyed being lost in her thoughts, and today she was more lost than usual. Although she was not really dressed to meet the Queen Mother, nor any of the members of her family, she didn't really mind, finding a large part of Hapan society very silly. She was meeting Lassiter, who was a man, and therefore she did not need to dress up even this formally. However, she had respect for the man, for breaking out of the chains that were placed on him by the other Hapans. A brilliant man, and someone she wanted to get to know better, as it was unlikely he liked the scruples of Hapes any more than she did.

A quiet contemplation fell across the Throne room as Baron Gorgano finished speaking. Looking upon the youthful Baron thoughtfully, thinking, Ka slowly inclined her head in agreement. It wasn't a decision made lightly, nor was it something she, as the ruler of the Consortium, would ever do to jeopardize the independence of the Consortium. Her people came first. The interests of the Hapan Consortium came first. But aside from all of that, there was one key factor that influenced her decision. Preservation. Several millenia of history, culture, influence and a matriarchal dominated society could potentially be lost if the Consortium stood alone against the First Order. And that right there, was enough to make the decision she was about to make. Clearing her throat, Emelie Ka replied to the Baron.
"The truth and conviction in your words in inspiring, Baron. For all your bravado, all your stature and discipline, there is one thing that you can't hide in your words. Fear. You fear the coming darkness. It has left its marks upon you and has changed you... You seek to preserve your way of life. As do I. I would rather see Hapes burn in defiance of this empire, than watch it be consumed and erased from the histories. We, within the Consortium, are known for a great many things. But submission and cowardice are not among those things. The Consortium will support the Coalition, Baron Gorgano, under one condition; my son, Sebastian, leads the Consortium's mighty navy against this foe. He is valiant, brave and is willing to die in support of the Consortium. You will find no one more devout to defeating this First Order than him..."
Lassiter inclined his head at the mention of him leading the Hapan Royal Navy alongside the Coalition. He had spent his entire life preparing for a moment such as this. The enemies of the Coalition had now become the enemies of the Consortium. And the Consortium was more than willing to stand toe to toe with the First Order. Given the wealth of the cluster, it would be a valuable asset to the Coalition. And with Lassiter at the helm of the Hapan fleet, the Coalition was guaranteed a loyal allied navy.

The arrangement was more than acceptable to Graemon. The Hapans were known for their preservation and, certainly, the appointed of Prince Lassiter was not only a gesture of good faith by giving the Coalition the skills and competency of Sebastian but also to give the Consortium a peace of mind. They were being more then generous and the Baron understood the reasoning by the Queen Mother's decision. He bows his head.
The Coalition happily accepts your condition, Queen Mother. He will be given a proper rank within the Coalition Navy and the Hapan Fleet will remain, together, as a command within our armed forces. We appreciate your understanding in the matter and welcome the Consortium.
Graemon continues to speak after a moment.
We ask that you send a trusted official to act as the Senator of your Consortium so that they may represent Hapan interests and participate in the daily governance of the Coalition. We also have refugees from the Outer Rim that seek homes and a means to build a new life. We have asked our members to take any and all they can. We will not impose on the Consortium, but allow your government decide on the matter.

With the conditions met, business was concluded for the time being. An appointed Senator to represent the Consortium would be chosen in due time. But for now, Emelie Ka was tired. Well aged and wizened in her years, the Queen Mother was unable to partake in too many hearings, sessions or deliberations of the royal court. And this one had tired her out. Immensely. But her son, Sebastian, would represent them well. He would be the go between for the Consortium and the Coalition. At least until a Senator was appointed.
"We will convene again at a later date to decide upon a Senator to represent the Consortium. For the time being, Sebastian will represent the interests of the Hapan people. I thank you for taking the time to come all this way, Baron Gorgano. We have much to discuss amongst ourselves. And I am sure Sebastian is eager to get to work. The Royal Court will now stand adjourned until tomorrow. Peace be with you, Baron. Master Jedi. I bid you adieu."
As the Queen Mother and her entourage took their leave, and the court began to vacate the chambers, Sebastian strode over to the Baron and extended a hand.
"Well met, Baron Gorgano. Prince Lassiter. Commander-in-Chief of the Hapan Royal Navy and heir to the Consortium Throne. A pleasure."

Graemon bows his head to the aged Queen Mother. Certainly, Hapes and the Consortium would be alive with much debate and reorganization with its entry into the Coalition as a full member state, with special privileges given the Hapan's background and culture. He would rather not have that cause a deterioration in of just improved relations. With the Queen Mother gone, Graemon turns to Lassiter and bows his head first before giving him a firm handshake.
Your Highness, it is good to see you join our ranks and to see the Consortium be with us in our struggle. The Coalition will surely rejoice at this news once it is heard. Certainly, your presence in the Coalition's military and politics will put an ease on the Queen Mother's mind.
Graemon looks at where the nobles had gathered, murmuring among themselves. They were certainly planning for a way to secure their position and influence among the Coalition. The Fondorian turns back to Lassiter, placing his hand on his shoulder as an indication to direct him to join the Baron on a walk.
I can give you assurances now that, anything the Consortium needs to prepare for the future, the Coalition is ready to aid our Hapan colleagues. We are in this struggle together after all and we are members of the same nation. We will not ask for the Hapan Royal Navy to re-position unless it is absolutely necessary. The Coalition will respect the Consortium, this I promise.

With a firm shake of the hand, Sebastian follows the Baron as they walk. Listening intently, the Hapan Prince nods his head.
"Baron, respect is all well and good, however, if this First Order has its way, there will be nothing left to respect. While I appreciate your thoughtfulness and respectful approach, I would rather see the Consortium's resources spent helping those that need it, rather than lavishly building up those that can't elevate themselves any further...but...I digress. Our Consortium is well defended enough. Send us wherever you need us."
The Prince pauses for a moment and thinks. Eyeing up the Baron thoughtfully, Lassiter speaks once more.
"We also have a handful of new designs that I have been interested in field testing. Perhaps I could 'lease' out a few dozen to your fleets, to help bolster their ranks...?"
The few new ships that had just finished being constructed were ready to be crewed and utilized in battle. And while it wasn't much, providing the Coalition with a few Hapan ships to bolster its ranks could prove to be advantageous, under the right commander.

Striding past on of the vaulted gardens, he spotted Allyali sitting alone, drinking a glass of Oi-Oi champagne. Motioning to the guard to leave as he strode in, he inclined his head."Allyali...I hadn't been expecting you until after the session..."He trailed off, taking in Allyali's full choice of wardrobe and did his best not to let his jaw hit the floor. Though, she always did seem to enjoy surprising him in unexpected ways. Shaking his head and blinking, he glanced back up at her."I have a few moments. Our...guests are still at the hangars."Being the Prince and the Commander-in-Chief of the Hapan Royal Navy had it's perks. The Courtroom proceedings wouldn't begin until he was present, mush to his Mother's dismay, however, he rarely got the change to actually speak with Allyali. And she was one of the best Commanders on the ground that he had ever seen. So taking these few moments to speak with her wasn't going to hurt anything.

The least they can do is have some patience after their rather... improper entrance.” Turning to the guards in the room, she ordered them to leave before turning back to the bird she had perched on her finger. It was a small, red thing, almost in a similar shade to her hair. As it eventually grew bored of hopping around on her finger, it flew off, rejoining the chorus of similar multicolored birds flitting between the branches of the trees in the garden. Placing her glass down next to her, she invited Lassiter to come further into the garden with a simple gesture of her hand, her lithe form generally unmoving during all of this. Even though this was his Palace, for all intents and purposes this was her garden, and both Lassiter and her knew that.Turning her gaze back to the prince for just a moment, she slowly stood up and began approaching him, across the small path that had been made of perfectly hewed stone to the doorway. She elected against responding to his query until she was rather close to him, but as they were quite close as is, this was not likely to make the young prince uncomfortable, which was all the more important now, as Hapes entered this new period. As she walked, she grabbed a fruit from one of the trees. While he gardener would likely lose his mind over attempting to replace that one fruit, it didn’t bother Allyali much. When she finally reached Lassiter, she offered him the fruit.“Taste it,” While a strange request, it would be likely he wouldn’t refuse. Once again, despite being her superior officer; she and Lassiter were friends above all else, which is why she felt so comfortable speaking as plainly as she did.“I hadn’t expected to see you either. With how much you seem to love attending your conferences and whatnot, I was certain you wouldn’t have time to spare...” Her trailing off was said in an almost suggestive manner, an extremely bold move, all things considered. Lassiter had a meeting to attend, she had a strategy conference the next day. Not to mention, he was her direct superior. He was effectively her boss, but even so, she pursued this angle. It wasn’t unlike her to adopt rather bold strategies, whether in battle or in her life, but this perhaps was too much even for her. She would have to wait and see.

Tell me, what is the situation in the systems surrounding the Transitory Mists? I have not heard of any Imperial advance into these systems, but I am curious how the state of the systems around your nation. Procuring a small handheld holo-projector, Lassiter flicks it on. Images of the freshly designed Pulsar-Class Battle Cruiser appeared, with detailed technical information alongside the image."As of yet, untested in battle, I expect this design to rival our Battle Dragons in terms of service and abilities. Along with these..."The Prince swiped through to bring up both the images of the Hetrinar-Assault Bomber and the Atlas-Class Troop Transport."With these two designs, we were hoping they would provide us with an edge in starfighter combat and troop deployment. Perhaps they might even give the Coalition an advantage?"Switching off the projector, Lassiter offers it to the Baron, while answering his question."Our borders are strong. We have several patrols in multiple locations within the Mists. Unless the First Order gains our closely guarded knowledge of the Mists, they won't be advancing that way. Though I am curious, Baron. If I may, how are your own borders? As I understand it, the First Order has left you alone since the collapse of the Galactic Alliance?"Despite the isolationist nature of the Consortium, Lassiter made a point of knowing what was going on beyond the cluster, if for nothing more than to better prepare and defend should the worst come to pass, though so far, the First Order had left them along and showed no ill-intent toward the Consortium. Though, but becoming a member of this Coalition, they very well could have just placed a giant target on themselves. Though the cluster would make for an excellent fall back point, if it ever came to that. Limited ways in, resources aplenty, strategic choke points. If the First Order dared to come for the Consortium, the would pay dearly for it, that much was certain.

And that was something he wished more people would see him as. Just a man, not a title. Silently observing Lassiter, Allyali quietly made note of the expression on his face. A brief smile flitted across her face as he made such a comment. It was certainly something she expected. His mother, while fixated on protocol, and equally concerned with imparting this fixation onto her son, was aware that Lassiter did not care as much as he did. She would have made a similar remark at the expense of her male companion, if she was as fixated on Hapan tradition as she should have been. Fortunately, however, she was not. However, his comment about making time for her caused another minute grin to play across her lips. Apparently, Lassiter did intend to at least stay with her for the moment and he was planning to put off the meeting until later. An acceptable course of action for what her intentions were. In any case, she had known that Lassiter would likely allow her to edit her schedule at will anyway, and so was unsurprised by his course of action. Even so, she grasped the bottle of champagne she had left lying in the grass, alongside an extra glass. She had been predicting this visit. Pouring the bubbling liquid into the thin flute, she handed it to Lassiter, inviting him to continue to stay here with her for the moment. She was not unaware of how this looked, what with the two of them alone together in this garden, her dressed the way she was, and how Lassiter had eyed her as he first entered the space. She was quite certain that her figure was pleasing to the eyes of the Prince, and as such decided to play on that appearance, continuing her walk towards him in a slow, seductive manner. As she eventually reached him, she looked deep into his eyes, the smile from earlier slowly spreading across her lips."I would have expected nothing less of you, Sebastian." This was very clearly said with such an intonation that emphasized his name, as she took a sip of her champagne, her body tense with emotion, yet strangely at ease. Such encounters were thrilling, especially with the one that stood before her, and she knew he spoke with conviction. More than could be said of most other men. As she continued strutting through the garden, she eventually came upon a tree that would allow her to directly face the Prince, and as such she rested upon it, continuing to lock eyes with him."Though, the question naturally arises of what to do with that limited time."

Graemon takes a moment to examine the schematics of these newer Hapan warships and support vessels. Seemed the Consortium was advancing with its technology, despite its isolation. These would be good ships to have available for production at the Coalition's shipyards. The Fondorian gave a nod of approval and gratitude.Very interest models. I know of the Hapan Fleet by history and these new ships should prove to be helpful. In exchange, Graemon showed some vessels of their own. There were several to note. The larger vessels were the Corellian Dreadnaught, Proficient-class Cruiser, and the Tapani Assault Frigate. The support vessels included Bothan Frigate, Tapan-class Carrier, and Mansk-class Light Frigate. At the end was the Manta-class Assault Starfighter among other models. The Coalition's access to some of the most major shipyards on the south side of the Core has helped use tremendously. On the topic of the First Order...Indeed. We do not know why but they have not come any closer than the nearby systems of Kuat and Balmorra, two of their greatest fortress systems and certainly future obstacles. We do not try to antagonize them, but I am certain they will look our direction eventually.

Accepting the fruit and taking a bite, the tart sweetness of the fruit greeted his tongue. Chewing for a few moments, while listening to Allyali speak. Smirking, he replied candidly to her."You and I both know that these conferences and court sessions are simply a formality. And I only attend them to keep in the know about our people...though being able to sneak away for a few moments and forget about being the Prince is always welcome."Despite the fact that Hapes was run by women, his mother in particular, and despite their rather different upbringings, Lassiter enjoyed being able to duck away from his duties, even if only momentarily, to spend time with Allyali. Something that, surprisingly, his mother encouraged. Though there was the subtle political machinations behind her encouragement, Lassiter decided to not read too far into it. Sure, Allyali was attractive, smart and definitely skilled on the battlefield, but taking a queen wasn't something that he had thought too much about. Though he could see why his mother encouraged him. Allyali's upbringing would make her an ideal queen. But he was getting ahead of himself."While time may be valuable and rather limited due to my duties, I will always make time for you. You know that."Allyali knew him well enough, and while he was Prince, she never really seemed to notice that. He was just Sebastian Lassiter to her. A small smirk came to the Prince's face, watching Allyali as she moved purposefully through the garden. Enticing and intoxicating, being around her, she knew exactly what she needed to do in order to have the young prince eating out of the palm of her hand, so to speak. Such was the way in a female dominated society. The women knew what they wanted and simply went for it, without so much as a second thought, in most cases. The question still hung between them, however. Eyes sparkling somewhat mischievously in the garden's lighting, Sebastian spoke, a sly smile crossing his lips."I have an idea..."The prince trailed off and took three steps towards her, closing the gap between them. Wrapping his right hand around Allyali's waist and pulling her into him, he placed his left hand upon the back of her head and proceeded to kiss the woman passionately, portraying the pent up desires the prince had towards her...

As per usual, The Organization, under the capable leadership of the man known only by the moniker "The Illusionist", was expanding its net once more, seeking allies and resources to further the publicly unknown goals. Publicly, The Organization was one parent company, Aegohr Manufacturing Ltd. that purchased majority shares of other businesses and companies, in order to establish majority control and boost economical values of any given world they held company shares on. The Organization also provided humanitarian aid or relief wherever it was deemed the most vital, maintaining a compassionate public image. However, this was all merely shadow tactics. Publicly, The Organization was seen as benevolent and not threatening to anyone. Privately, they were at war with Force Users and their quasi-religious sects. Curing and completely eradicating Force Users and Force Sensitivity was their main goal, though that was known to only a select few. Now, after the recent acquisition of Geonosis, The Organization was expanding its influence. This time it was set on the Hapes Consortium. Known for a rich, if isolated culture and significant wealth, the resources of the Hapes Consortium could prove to be invaluable. However, the only hurdle that could cause issues what the alliance between the Consortium and the Corellian Coalition. However, the nature of the Coalition was vastly different to that of The First Order. So perhaps there was a way to make an alliance work while still staying true to their commitments with the Coalition?*
*Shimmering to life in the middle of the throne room, a sharp dressed man sporting silver hair and piercing blue eyes would appear before the Queen's court. With a lit cigarette in his right hand and a glass filled with ice cubes and some scotch in his left, he spoke politely to Queen Mother Emelie Ka.Queen Ka of the Hapes Consortium. I come before you and your court with a proposition and a partnership.Having his technicians hack through the Hapans encryption, there was no real way for them to decline his sudden appearance without at least hearing him out, as rude as that may seem. Directly approaching matters such as this head on usually produced the best results. Usually.

The sudden appearance of a well-aged, nobly dressed man, came as a shock to the Queen and her court, however, as it was merely a hologram, there was little else that could be done other than play along, for now.
"A proposition and a partnership? You are rather bold to assume we are interested in the first, and would be willing to accept the second. Given that you've taken it upon yourself to appear before myself and my court, speak your piece. I am willing to hear you out until my technicians undo your hacking and shut you down."
She spoke confidently, as any ruler would. Though it was hard to say whether or not they would actually be able to undo this mysterious man's intrusion quickly, or at all. It had happened so suddenly that no one could have expected it, much less prevented it.
