"Well then, I would remind her that I try never to let personal feelings get in the way of helping innocent people in need." He replied with a smile.
=Capt. Ruluwoor=
When Annalise had gone, Sara glanced both ways out of the door of the office, then turned back to Koronov, who was gathering the last of his personal possessions. Dipping a paw into the Senator's bag as Dmitri slung it over one shoulder, she drew out his holdout blaster, and pressed it into his hand. "You may need this before the day is over, Senator." As his eyes widened, she smiled reassuringly. "Not everyone on Coruscant agrees with the Chancellor's decision, especially not the loyalists in the Republic Guard, and right now, they assume you were complicit in the act. It's best to be prepared." Then, with her own blaster rifle held at the ready, she led the way down the hall in the opposite direction from the one Annalise had taken.
Suddenly, three men in blue armor jumped from a doorway, two of them grabbing for the Senator while the third shoved the Selonian CorSec officer aside and into the wall. Letting out a screech, the Selonian bit the shoulder that had just been shoved into her face, her needle-sharp fangs instinctively finding the seam between two armor plates. As the man staggered backward, howling and clutching at his shoulder, she clocked him in the head with her blaster butt.
Meanwhile Koronov had wriggled free of his captors, and, leaving only his luggage in their disappointed, grasping fingers, put his back to the wall, and trained his holdout blaster on the senior officer of the three, a heavy-set man with captain's stripes. "I am not your enemy, you fools." He coughed, catching his breath.
=Captain Wallace=
The Guard captain snarled. "We'll see about that, traitor. Your lies will get you nowhere with us. We have seem the truth."
Koronov glanced down for a split second, trying to check whether he had his blaster set to stun, and with the Corellian's attention split between Wallace and his pistol, the other guardsman lept forward, ripping Dmitri's gun to the side and out of his grasp. However, before he could seize the former Senator, blue rings of energy exploded outward from Sara's gun, and the perfectly placed stun blast caught the man and blew up backward, while leaving Koronov untouched. His motionless form collapsed on top of his unconscious comrade. Staring upward through eyes that refused to blink, he would do nothing more that helplessly watch the rest of the fight.
=Captain Wallace=
Ruluwoor had been quick, but so had Wallace. By the time she had her third target in her sights, he had Koronov by the neck, using him as a shield as he thrust a blaster pistol under the Corellian's chin. "Stand down, alien." Wallace glowered. "We just have a few questions for your boss. There's no need for all this violence. Let me take him in, and I won't even press charges for assaulting my unit." He smiled behind his faceplate, trying to portray a false front of peace. "Can't we be reasonable about this?"
Spotting her perturbed face, Dmitri winked at Sara, then projected as much fake terror into his voice as he could. "Please just drop your weapon, Captain Ruluwoor. He's won. Don't shoot! Don't shoot!." All this time, one of his hands had been out of sight, pinned between his back and the guardsman. At the Senator's words, Wallace started to relax, and Dmitri was just able to reach one of the man's standard-issue belt pouches. The Republic's uniform standards, and his minute knowledge of them as a former Military Committee member, told Dmitri exactly where he could find a flashbang grenade. As the Selonian CorSec Captain dropped her blaster rifle and slowly raised her paws, he suddenly set it off.
=Capt. Ruluwoor=
Both the Senator and the guardsman were knocked to the floor, blinded and deafened, whereas the Selonian had just enough time to cover her eyes before the flash of light and wall of sound rolled over them all. Her ears still ringing, she hit each of the immobilized guardsmen with another stun blast for good measure, stun cuffed all three of them together with as many cuffs as she could find, and then practically carried the barely conscious Koronov out of the Senate Building. Instead of heading toward the Republic's official hangars and landing pads, she made her way toward the commercial spaceport.
