*Reed looked at the Herglic. He thought he had been speaking Basic, he only thought scientists and medical professionals were this dense.*
"Syren is the name of a sentient being, you clod. She was brought in off the street for medical care. I'm listed as her next of kin on her Republic ID. So if you think you can take her off my hands, you are sorely mistaken."
*The Epicanthix did not particularly take a liking to being called punk, his pride was prickled.
Syren dropped down from the tree branch and noticed the fighting stance the herglic had taken. Reed was itching for a fight too, but he was going about it in a stupid manner. What you get from using a blaster all of your life. Syren pushed Reed back against the tree's trunk, hard enough to knock him off his poorly balanced feet when she unfolded from her crouch. "Whale," *She addressed the herglic.* "I hear, from the middle of this tree, that you are looking for me. You are simultaneously irritating my friend. I am called Syren." *She paused and slowly blinked, her hands were at her sides, but her feet were balanced and ready to move should she need to move. It reflected a soresu stance of defense. "Who is paying you..." *She looked at his hands, then to his jumpsuit. His profession was not clear, but she hazarded a guess anyway, "...Merchant, to procure me as a package?"
*Reed was off put by the push and by the amount of words Syren had spoken to the herglic. Aside from an awkward jibe or very important information in brief, Syren did not say much, at least not out loud. Her species did not need to use a lot of words to communicate, they had the Force, they had body language...well, that summed that up. No Force, more words. Reed sighed. Syren had always mentioned that words led to miscommunication. Let your feelings do the talking... yada, yada, female and Jedi mumbo jumbo. He attempted to reach for her hand.* "Sy..."

Keahi stepped back, he'd honestly thought the epicanthrix was trying to be funny, but this made things ... down right twisted into absolutely nothing resembling anything functional.
Firefek... My name is Makana Keahi. I'm a mover by trade, I get things from one place to the next for a modest fee. My current employer is a repeat customer, his jobs are the oddest, but he pays time and a half for everyone of them, with a sizable signing bonus on every contract. Who exactly he, or she, is I don't have any idea. Never needed to know anything about him, his word is always good. I don't know why, but he wants ...you on Myrkr, miss. Why he didn't just send you a shuttle I don't know, but he sent me and I'm here and I promised to get you to Myrkr. Would you please do me a huge favor and come willingly? I don't think he wants a slave, it doesn't really fit his, or her, style. Plus anywhere is better than here. I'm kinda surprised these fools haven't accidentally killed you yet.
What the blazes? Did hoth just melt? Has tatooine finally frozen over? What is going on here, I've never been asked to transport a being before. But everything else was exactly as it usually is with him, and it was designated as highly dangerous and high priority... I'm now far to flabbergasted to consider a fight and my body tenses up in pure stress as I try to figure out what all of this means....

*Myrkr... Syren could not remember when last she had heard about the Ysalamir planet. Mandalorians had held it when last she was involved with politics. She had been so transient she had not kept track about the comings and goings of holdings on planets... not that she had ever paid much mind to that in the first place. Dealing in secret sounding more Sithlike than Mandalorian --- A Mandalorian would come himself anyway.
Syren cocked her head to the side thinking for a moment. If this was someone she knew from the past, they would know that she was potentially dangerous, and if he or she wanted Syren on Myrkr, it was possibly to keep her unconnected to the Force, or a coincidence... Jedi may not believe in coincidence, but Syren wasn't a real Jedi -- she wouldn't rule it out. Not that it mattered, she could not touch the Force anyway. She was currently no different from Reed, or possibly Makana here.*
"Your employer seems to be showing an inordinate amount of caution in thinking that I am difficult to acquire." *She paused, unable to read the Herglic's emotions effectively,* "What do you mean that you are surprised the Togruta have not killed me?"
*Syren had been in treatment in many hospitals around the galaxy, not a one ever seemed to acknowledge that her species existed -- as if any mention of Thallassans had been wiped from databases -- they all tried bacta and then kolto with the same result. The only problem this time: no Force to accelerate her healing.
Syren had a feeling that either Aydyn or Avarath were up to erasing their species existence from the records. Some ridiculous scheme about keeping them secret until Thallassans could rule the galaxy. She felt herself frown at the thought. When Thallassans entered their last few hundred years of life, they did go a little insane. Avarath and Aydyn were going out spectacularly, though she had not heard a whisper about them for some years now. She shrugged then turned her attention back to Makana.
Reed was leaning back against the tree watching the herglic as well. He sighed and addressed Syren,* "I know that you are going to go, if only to play with vornskrs again. But if you think you are going to go packed like luggage in whatever crate this guy calls a ship, you are mistaken."

Keahi was greatly relieved that her answer was not "no." He wasn't particularly concerned that it wasn't a yes either, knowing that as long as it wasn't no, he had time on his side. And these silly holistic healers too, though that probably wasn't entirely their fault. They did mean well, usually, but their patient's recovery never seemed to work out the way they thought it should either. His pod had been near just such a hospital on his home world and he'd seen their success rate and was not impressed with them or their methods, though the theory sounded nice enough.
He is exceedingly cautious, in all things, but perhaps he was referring to your protective friend here. And I said accidentally killed you. These holistic types mean well, but they usually have a distinct lack of ability to follow through with their good intentions. I grew up not far from a place like this, and we noticed that you had a even chance of being carried out as walking out if you ever dared to enter it. Maybe these Togruta are better at their job than the ones I know, but the performance levels seemed pretty standard from what I've seen, so I doubt it.
Makana, gestured to Reed, with one hand as he mentioned him. That same hand raised a single finger to punctuate his next sentence, then jerked a stubby thumb at the nearest Togruta, now accompanied by two more, all whispering and gesturing at the group unsure of whether or not they aught to intervene. He shrugged his massive shoulders as he finished his spiel, and pointedly ignored Reed's comment, when it came. Just because his information was wrong, didn't mean he was a kriffing Trany slaver, of course she wouldn't be packed as luggage. He could easily arrange the installation of a state room in his hold, if she didn't mind waiting the four or five months it would take to have it done. Makana, blew air through his air hole in what amounted to a sigh, as he realized he'd probably end up hauling this guy along for the ride as well... great wouldn't that be fun... maybe he wouldn't mind riding in the luggage? Makana didn't get his hopes up.

*Syren nodded to herself. She was paranoid. This must be what Reed felt like all the time without the Force to guide him. She felt a little strike of pity, then let it go.* "Reed, where is your ship? We can follow mover to Myrkr to go play with the vornskrs. You bring the rest of your crew."
*Reed nodded and promptly added.* "We're gonna need to round them up from the cantina."
*Syren nodded again and clapped her hands.* "I smell a sith." *She turned to Makona,* "His ship is easy to find. It looks like a giant rusty turtle in need of a wash."
"Hey!" *Reed looked hurt for a moment but the expression cleared quickly at the advance of a nurse. She looked first at the Herglic, then at Reed, and lastly at Syren. "If you are feeling well enough, we would like to come to some accord about your stay here, Knight Syren."*Syren nodded and shooed Reed off to find his crew. Whatever had happened to her on the streets, she had not remembered much before the Bacta dip, so there were holes in her memory that she needed to fill, and first she needed to know exactly how she had gotten here and the nurses would have some clues, and had dropped hints, but they were tight lipped until they saw green.*
"This may take a moment Makona. You can go prep your ship or go play pick up with Reed if you would like. He is not as bad when you give him some Han Solo Rum and you aren't threatening to steal away his sick lover."[/color]

Keahi considered the woman before him with no small amount of suspicion... Who was she anyway, and what was she doing here? It sounded as if she were at least intellectually familiar with sith, a breed of creature he tried to avoid. And she showed no fear at the prospect of meeting one in the near future... maybe his employer hadn't been referring to her lover after all... or maybe he was referring to them both. Keahi put it out of his head. They wanted to travel comfortably that was fine by him, and he pulls a data chip out of his pocket and tosses it to Syren, before following the epicanthrix out of the garden.
The chip held the coordinates of his delivery point and his contact information. So they could find their destination should they get lost or distracted along the way. He didn't much care how they got there, or even when, so long as they arrived. This job was paying well enough he'd not need to take on any side jobs to pay the bills, so he could wait for them if he needed too. Keahi moved into town and the spaceport. He considered tagging their ship as a precaution, but decided against it. He was not a bounty hunter or slaver, if the "package" got lost while out of his hands, then someone else could find her again. Keahi boarded his own ship, a lightly modified YV-929, most of the modifications simply improving his own comfort and ease of access within the craft. He checked the ship for stowaways and began his pre-flight checklist wondering what this was all about, and why the message had been worded in such a misleading manner.

For a long time now, Shili was among the worlds that sat in close proximity to the borders of the resurgent Empire. The war had not come to its surface, yet eventually, the wedge shapes of Imperial warships exited hyperspace over the planet. Transports went down, carrying a full legion of Stormtroopers to begin a full occupation. The reasoning behind this planet's integration was its farming potential. It had plains and savannahs that were ideal for plant and animal farming, something that the native Togrutas were good at, as well as the immigrated species of Humans and Twi'leks.
When the Stormtroopers arrived, a Commissioner-General was appointed, alongside a council of native rulers, with an elected 'chief leader' to serve as the formation of the local governance. The Stormtroopers did not seek any reprisals, but did their best to secure the peace. New technology was brought down and offered to farming families, hoping to gain their support for the new regime that had arrived.

One would think that Shili was a relatively primitive world. The tribes of Togrutas that cultivated the turu-glass scurblands and valley canopy forests, dotted with packs of primal Akul, which were large, carnivorous predators, native to the world. Being stationed here felt like a sentence for a Stormtrooper, a bad one at that. However, there was still civilization. Corvala was a trading capital, known for rather holistic medicines, that the Togruta were known for. So spiritualistic was the humanoid race that they didn't even wear shoes, for they believed they were connected to the land spiritually and wearing shoes cut their bond from the land. One could imagine the questions to Stormtroopers, on and off duty, by Togruti children who asked why they wore boots. There were a range of answers. It seemed, every day, a child came home to speak with their parents with a new answer from their political overlords and militaristic protectors.

Dr. Navlen, Senior Advisor to the Humanitarian Fleet, arrived on world in his own star yacht. This was a professional trip, but he was making it on his own time. Many Imperial trained doctors were very strict in their understanding of medicine. Navlen, on the other hand, was more open to alternatives. He cared about results. If it was "stupid" and it worked, then it wasn't stupid. He wanted to study the Togruti physicians to see what could translate. He was always wanting to learn. He also hoped that, if there was something to this brand of healing, to get some healers to volunteer for the fleet.

The Dr. couldn't deny the effect, but he couldn't point to a tangible reason for it. This frustrated him. There was more than placebo effect, but he couldn't point to anything. There were a couple of physicians that had expressed interest in joining the Navy and the Humanitarian fleet. He was really hoping to work with them so he could study more.

The attack had taken most people off guard. The pirates had some of their team on planet ready to loot during the chaos. This was the group that Dr. Navlen saw in person. He rushed to provide aid to the people hurt in the attack and the powerplant explosion. It was here the pirates decided that a First Order Doctor could make a good hostage.
