Vasari hardly noticed the threat from the Spaceport, her mind was still largely focused on the surrounding jungle area and the mist approaching them ever so slowly from behind. She held her saberstaff lightly between her fingers running her gloved hands over the 'shield' blades engage mechanism. She was taught in the standard form of dual saber combat when she trained with the Zhaboka as a child, one end was for offense, and the other was defense - the shield blade. Once she had adapted what she had learned as a child to the saberstaff at the academy and learned the principles of Form Three she realized how wrong her training had been, how primitive and simplistic the styles she had spent hours training with truly were. Regardless the action had taught her discipline and had strengthened her body at a young age... she considered this another such lesson. Everyone here was focused on their goal, looking at this mission just like normal, the goal was the spaceport - and yet something nagged at Vasari's mind and her consciousness was always drawn back to the mist behind them. She wished she had had more time to study the culture of the Anzati people, there had to a significance of the mist that would give them an edge.
She shifted slightly and finally got to her feet her mind extending out towards the troopers searching for any sign of weakness or outside influence within their minds. She wished to form a protective shield around all of the, but that would leave them blind - or at least her, and if Luxeria was depending on her ability to assess and locate threats then her desire to protect the team could hinder them further and get someone killed needlessly.
"With your permission, I'll take Viox's Advanced Recon team and attempt to find us the least guarded route forward, I'll still be able to shield you - I wont be too far away." She spoke loud enough to be heard by any nearby but she was now standing beside Luxeria, her head tilted slightly to the side her friend stood on."I'll be able to give the team more warning if i'm closer to the enemy than they expect..."

As Luxeria looked out towards the direction of the spaceport sorting out possible plans, she, like Viox, caught the feeling of another residing at the spaceport. No doubt the master that had them shot down. She could sense anticipation and the desire to catch them, but that was all she could gather from their distance and not diving into the Force further. She was just about to do so, closing her eyes.
But shortly after she did so, she heard Vasari step up beside her and request heading out to do some recon. Keeping her eyes closed, she contemplated the idea. She wasn't the leader Viox was and didn't possess the full grasp of being in complete command, so her choices were slower and harder to make as she debated the best option. She was typically better off just fighting and following the lead of another or, at the very least, leading a small group under the orders of someone higher. But it was her time and she needed to cross this bridge.
But there was still more to it than her slowly growing ability to lead. It was the simple reality of where they were and what they were facing. What little she could gather of the Anzati displayed them more as assassins and hidden predators rather than typical soldiers. That alone would make the idea of a recon seem pointless. True that Vasari could sense them out, but as assassins, they'd either attack right away at being discovered or wait until more arrived, moving around to keep their location in question.
Giving a sigh, she opened her eyes, looking out towards the spaceport. "Hold off for the moment. While there may be patrols out there, I suspect they will be the least of our worries. Remember, these guys are predators and we are in their home. Small groups of assassins are the bigger issue. No point in sending anyone in until we are all ready to move. But when we do move out, we'll need an advance team with skilled defensive and sensory abilities to find our enemy and relay their position to the main group a bit behind. That way we are ready to fight and defend in any position and at any moment."

Still standing, facing the direction of the spaceport, somewhere off in the distance, the Zabrak merely listened to the planning that was unfolding around him. Vasari was eager to prove her worth. But Luxeria was playing it cautiously. As it should be. She was indeed correct. The Anzanti were natural predators. And they currently held the home field advantage. Dispatching a small team to scout the surrounding terrain would be foolish, and wasteful. Until they were fully prepared to move out, they needed to ensure their perimeter was manned and ready. And everyone needed to be alert. Stealth, darkness and silence were the Anzanti's greatest strengths right now. Even he, with his heightened senses, would fall prey to them on his own. And that was an unsettling thought. But they would make exceptional allies, provided they were able to get that far. Right now, however, they were stuck. Moving forward in the dark was too risky at the moment. A rumbling off in the distance, well behind them, caused the Sith to turn and look. A bright orange light flared up on the horizon, in the direction of their downed vessel. A small smirk crossed his lips.
"It seems our foes found our crash site...which means it won't be long until they find us here..."
The Zabrak trailed off and glanced towards Luxeria, seeing what she'd suggest next. At this point, they could either dig in and hold out for reinforcements or press on. Both decisions carried their distinct advantages and disadvantages. He knew what decision he would make, but this wasn't his operation. It was Luxeria's. And even though she preferred to lead small teams, she was more than capable of leading this group to victory. If reinforcements arrived sooner, they would bolster their numbers and remain under their respective commanders. Overwhelming Luxeria was not part of the plan. Though he didn't doubt her capabilities, being in command carried its own stresses. Too many under her command and she could break. And she was far to valuable to run that risk. No. The complement of soldiers from the ship they had arrived here on would do fine. Bennette could handle the reinforcements.

It was true Vasari was chaffing a bit. The crash and the bits of action that followed - along with the ever growing feeling of being hunted - coupled with the literal looming threat of the Mist encroaching ever closer upon their position had raised her adrenaline and her natural born hunters instincts were kicking in. She growled at no one in particular, mostly herself, and moved off towards the rock she had been sitting upon and continued to study the mist. She had worked hard to silence those feral impulses, for years at the academy she had trained her mind to always trump those instinctual behaviors that had been bred into her species for generations. This place seemed to draw out what she thought to be the worst in her. Sitting down she attempted to refocus the shards of her mind, it was more difficult of course the blood pumping through her hearts was a distracting noise in her ears and her eyes kept scanning the shadows surrounding the relatively small group as if she didn't already know that there was not a hostile threat for at least a mile in any direction. The only thing that bothered her was that someone knew of her security net and had the skills to drop beneath it. She closed her eyes - steadied her breathing and dedicated herself to her job, furthering the connection between the hearts and minds of the group layering them all within the first current of the force tethering them to her mind and searching closer within the sphere of influence she had already cast - she was the first line of defense and she wasn't willing to let her usefulness decline by being bypassed by an unseen assassin.
"Not today..."
She whispered so softly she had to strain to even hear herself and opened a page to the book placing a hand upon it scanning it with her fingers for a half moment before opening her eyes to read from a passage that spoke of connecting ones self to the Living Force of an entire planet, drawing upon the energy around you, the flow of the force was strong on this world, but it all seemed to move towards the mist, or away from it... as waves rippled around a moving boat upon the sea. First out, then back in creating a strong riptide that drug all things under the surface. The further she allowed herself to connect to the planet the more she was distracted by the mist, but this time she didn't shy away from the unknown. She pulled strength from the mist and scoured her security net once more - still no one. She felt stronger, revitatalized as the passages said she might, she must have been doing something right. But this feeling came with any connection she made to the living force. what was different with the ritual the ancient emperor spoke of the power of those passages still alluded her, but regardless her mind slipped deeper into the mist as she proceeded to draw from the world around her to focus her mind, protect her team, and suppress her base instincts.

As had Viox, so too did Luxeria hear the activity from the location of their crashed ship. Turning her head at first, she then moved to the other side of the hill they rested on to gaze down towards the area they started. It was then she heard the Sith'ari's words. She didn't think twice about the situation, already knowing what needed to be done. Despite the frustration, Vasari felt towards being told to remain instead of leading a team to scout, he'd now get her chance to play the part. Giving off a small sigh, she spoke loud enough that both Vasari and Viox could hear. "Looks like our time to rest has run out then."
Moving to the center of the area, she began calling in the soldiers as quickly and silently as she could. She didn't need to be yelling out across the mountaintop and giving away their position before they had the chance to move. By bringing everyone in, they would be losing their perimeter for a short while even while everyone's senses alert. They needed to make this quick as possible. Once she was certain all had been gathered she began to speak. "I hope you all have rested up enough because its time for us to make our move. Our target is the spaceport ahead. To ensure our comrades in orbit do not face the same pleasant landing we've faced, our priority will be to bring their defenses offline. But we have quite trek ahead of us. The enemy knows we are here and they have the upper hand when it comes to terrain. For those of you that don't know of the Anzati, they are a powerful breed of warrior. Physically capable of feats at peak human levels, excellent predatory skills, and potent telepathic abilities. These warriors are not to be trifled with and, as such, will become valuable allies for the Blackguard. As strong as they are, however, I know we will succeed. You are soldiers of the Blackguard Reborn. Strong and vigilante, we will show them just how capable we are." She then took a breath before continuing. She wasn't much for speeches to inspire troops, but now that that was out of the way, she could discuss the plan for their approach. "Given the skills of our enemies, we will have to be cautious and slow. As we've already seen, they work most effectively as assassins, working in small groups, using their terrain to their advantage. And when coupled with their telepathy, it is essential we remain on guard. In a large group, it'll be harder to pick us off without alerting others, however, we cannot dismiss the idea that we'll run into a large group. As such, we will divide into groups of four that will remain a few yards away from each other. This will allow us to keep alert and eyes on all directions for assassins. Should we need to spread out to take cover, it'll be easier to do so. Same goes for if we need to group up. Leading the first three groups will be the Sith'ari, Vasari, and myself. Vasari will maintain a connection with each of us, relay the movement of any assassins around us while strengthening our minds from the Anzati influence. I want swift responses and efficient kills. We do not have the time to waste nor the luxury of losing any advantage we have. Any questions?"

The crash site of the Sith corvette had been easily located. Billowing clouds of smoke gave a very clear and defined trail to follow. My scouts approached and reported back to me, stating that the enemy had fled and salvaged everything of use. Upon closer inspection, my scouts triggered a trap. Disappearing in a large and unforgiving cloud of fire and debris, the corvette was effectively destroyed, removing any and all traces of information I may have learned from the invading Sith. Upsetting as the loss of intel and my scouts had been, I knew that my prey was going to be on the move again soon enough. Slowly and surely forcing them to come to me, I would satisfy my hunger soon. And perhaps I would satisfy other urges as well, given the company the male Zabrak kept. Only time would tell, however.

Luxeria's plan was solid. And he wasn't going to interfere with it. At least, not until he had to. Motioning to one of the troopers nearby, he tossed his rucksack and rifle to him. If he was going to be at his best, he couldn't be burdened with gear. Ensuring everything was as it should be, he absent-mindedly ran his fingers over the crystal embedded within his chest. Having healed nicely, the crystal helped to stabilize his mind for the time being. Hidden beneath both his cloak and tunic, no one would suspect anything yet. But this the fighting intensified, as it had a tendency to do when he was involved, he may end up revealing it to Luxeria and Vasari unintentionally. Remaining silent, the Sith'ari merely nodded in understanding as Luxeria asked if there were any questions. He had none to ask, and there was no sense in dragging this out longer than it needed to be. Improvising would be key here. And his soldiers were skilled at it. They should have little trouble making it to the spaceport. Unless the Azanti had an army marching towards them, they weren't likely to encounter anything more than they could handle.

With the destruction of the downed corvette and the loss of my scouts, I had several distinguished members from the Assassin's Guild brought in to reinforce the small garrison of soldiers at the Spaceport. I knew that the stranded Sith forces would eventually make their way to me, even if only to shut down the defense cannon so they could safely leave. I, however, had other plans. The young woman seemingly in charge of the group would make for an excellent plaything while my forces destroyed theirs. The Zabraks of the group would also make for an excellent distraction while their forces in orbit were delayed due to the operational defense cannon at the spaceport. All in all, it was a stalemate, but only for the time being. Allowing the enemy access to the spaceport, seemingly undetected to me would require crucial timing, but it would be done. I was not about to be denied satisfaction.

When she saw that no one had any questions, she began working on dividing the groups up as effectively as she could. These soldiers were well trained and with Vasari being connected to at least some of them, she expected little issue, especially with her and Viox at the front as well. Plus, she had something else she planned to enact to give them a bit more of an advantage.
When all the group was set, she gave her command. "Alright, let's move out." She had placed Vasari's group dead center with the Sith'ari to her left and Luxeria to her right. As they began moving out, Luxeria began to focus her energy, gathering it within her. It was a few moments before something seemed to pull out in front of the woman, a copy of herself. Since she first saw her ability to utilize the Doppelganger ability shortly after joining up with Darth Andor so long ago, she had furthered her understanding of the power and saw that it transmitted everything it saw and sensed back to her. As such, it would be a scout that moved ahead of them, drawing out any assassins lying in wait for them. Without even a sign of acknowledgment that anything happened, the copy took off into the woods towards the spaceport, looking to keep a fair distance ahead.

Jogging through the misty valley was not nearly as treacherous as he had expected. Staying a few meters ahead of his group, he could still faintly hear Luxeria's group pushing forward over the beating of his own hearts. So far, only the odd assassin here and there had tried to sneak up on them, much to their failure. It was enjoyable, ripping apart the Anzati before the could attack them. They certainly would make exceptional allies, provided they manage to secure the spaceport and gain their cooperation...moving swiftly, the Zabrak continued on, keeping pace with the other groups.

Things seemed to be moving smoothly in their approach towards the spaceport. With all of them on alert, Luxeria, Vasari, and Viox at the lead, pushing their senses further, Vasari's mental connection and her own Doppelganger finding and eliminating enemy scouts were but a simple task. She was glad she had learned the copy ability and took hold of what it could achieve in the right moment. Some of the assassins waiting in the mist fell for the trick and attacked, revealing their location. With that knowledge fed back into her own mind, she was quick to point them out before the enemy could gather themselves from the deception.
But part of her felt off as they went. She still didn't fully understand the Anzati and their methods, but only a few scatter encounters worried her. Why weren't they coming across larger parties. Maybe it was just how they did things as assassins, but she also wondered if they were merely toying with them as much as they were of the natives. That meant they could have been feeding intel back to the spaceport, attacking and sacrificing themselves to reveal their abilities beforehand so that they could prepare accordingly. If that turned out to be the case, then these assassins were not to be underestimated. It was wasteful and reckless, but effective. Once they arrived at the spaceport, she'd have to relay this thought process so none went in assuming they held the upper hand.
It wouldn't be much longer now. Soon, the true fight would begin.
