Equipped with dozens of communications stations, the communications hub is the center of the Organizations Intelligence division. Each station is outfitted in the latest and most advanced technologies including translator modules and encryption programs. The communications hub also contains the mainframe which is heavily guarded at all times and only those with top level clearance can access. The firewalls protecting the mainframe from cyber-attack were tested against the best slicers that the universe had to offer, including artificial intelligences from around the galaxy.
The communications hub is directly linked to the Mysterious Man's offices both on the Nexus and elsewhere so that he can access all information received where it is automatically downloaded to his private system. Each ship in the Organization fleet and each agent carries devices that directly link to the communications hub so that they can report in, request assistance, get authorization, or communicate any other needs they may have. These devices may only send and receive information but cannot access information, this is a security protocol.
In addition to communication with agents the communications hub monitors news and media outlets all around the galaxy, bounties posted, market fluctuations, and open communications within range. It is also the sensory center for the Nexus, constantly scanning for incoming ships. The communications hub contains the programming and controls for the stations defenses as well, both automated and manual.
With such knowledge and power contained in one room it is also the most heavily guarded area of the entire facility, regular patrols through the work area are made, there are several security checkpoints outside, including physical search, full body scans, voice analysis, retinal scan, hand print identification, and DNA identification. Each test must be passed to gain entry. Armed guards are present at each station to neutralize any threat, however, in the event that the guards are overcome, any failure of these scans results in the immediate lockdown of the compartment and a twenty second countdown commences. If the guard has not put in the correct code by the end of the countdown the room is filled with poisonous gas and then incinerated from above and below.
Should the Nexus be taken, a self destruct feature has been placed within heart of the station that will implode the entire station fifteen minutes from activation, the override requires two ranking personnel to put in their personal codes and scan their hand to identify. Activation can be done from the communications hub itself or from the Mysterious Man's office, deactivation can only be done from the communications hub.
