"You will all need to share. Well... what are we waiting for!?" He shouted as he kicked the bike into a quick spin and sped off towards the settlement. =Garwig & Scarlet= Riding the swoop bike with the Epicanthix holding onto his from the back, Garwig piloted the vehicle ever closer to the settlement as he could see Yumiko and Mieka in their bike not far from them. He saw that Xeonon and Lynda was doing well too with their ride, and spotting Venku not too far but still ahead of them, the Saarai-kaar activated the comlink within his helmet. Using it to speak to Venku as they approached the mining village.:: Venku, if I may ask, what weaponry have you brought on your person for this mission? All me and the girls have are our lightsabers, and I'm the only one amongst us wearing armor. ::He asked kindly on the comlink. Thankfully whatever was screwing up the scanners on the planet didn't seem to effect short ranged comlink transmissions. If anything, only a little bit of static could be heard. The view of the mining village becoming more larger as they were about to reach the place. Perhaps they'd be able to question the villagers about the mines.=Lynda Jarvio= As Lynda the tararsaarai heard Xeonon Solomon ask her about why she joined the Jensaarai order, Lynda's eyes looked downward as she thought about her past a bit. Speaking to the Imperial Knight in slightly raised voice so as the sounds from the swoop bike didn't drown out her words."Me and the rest of the ladies here believe it or not, were once slaves actually. A Hutt slaving operation within the Outer Rim sold women like us to the highest bidder to those with a large pocketbooks. Some for regular slaving work, and others for more unfortunate things. When Garwig was still a Jedi long long ago, he once went on a mission to Tatooine where he put an end to the slaving operation we girls were forced into. While the majority of the girls went off on their own separate ways, he sensed all four of ours potential in the Force. So we all became sort of "unofficial apprentices" of his and came to live on Utapau with him, way back when he once lived there. He owned his own private business there, the Naughty Nos cantina which was quite popular with citizens and tourists alike. We girls were not only given jobs at the cantina, but he used it as a place to teach us the ways of the Force." She explained, then continued after taking a deep breath and watching Xeonon as he directed the bike toward the settlement."Years later, when Garwig was having a spiritual crisis after a brief time drunk on the Dark side and having a hangover of sorts from it, he went on a personal spiritual quest in the unknown regions to do some soul searching for his path in the Force. We girls ran the cantina in his absence, and after over a year of him gone, he contacted us in news of his conversion to the Jensaarai ways. He gave us regular transmissions of Jensaarai teachings, and after a few months of instructing us what he knew, he invited us to join the order. We all wanted to grow further in our abilities with the Force, so with his approval, we sold the old cantina and set off to join the Jensaarai. Though he at first asked us to do our own special spiritual journey's as we went about various planets recruiting the tyrosaarai we now have at the temple. And the rest is history..." She told Xeonon and smiled. The Hapan wondering how he'd react to hearing about Garwig and the four women's past with him. In a sense, she and the rest of the ladies were like "Angels" to him, while he was this wise guy who helped to give them guidance. Sometimes they'd even call him "Charlie" as a joke from what one guy once called him having a difficult time pronouncing his name.

Right in the cockles, hell maybe even the subcockles of his heart. Although Xeonon was not a slave to a worm he was a slave, sold by his own mother for a few credits. You could say he started at the bottom until we got to here. You probably cant tell not, but on the right side of my face, where this metal is well I once carried the mark of a slave. Burned into my flesh after I got to close to my owners daughter At this point if he had still had his real eyes they would have gone glassy at memory. It was brief but it was great. He is a good man. I have not talked to him much but from what I have seen Garwig has a vision, and it involves helping any and all along the way. You are truly lucky to call him friend.
Man this was really a long ass ride. Personally I like you Jennies, more refined than the Jedi but less so than us door kickers. An odd term to describe the Knights but true none the less. All the while serving your own little slice of an empire. Now this is where a lesser man would get all sappy. I envy you, wish I could be you yadda yadda yadda. However this was the leader of his group and we cant have none of that. Hell you guys have survived trails that I could only imagine, even if it is ones in your past.

As the Zeltron approached the last couple of hundred meters he waved his wrist mounted commlink active to reply to Garwig.
:: Weapons? Hey i thought this was a vacation!... Iv'e got my standard holiday survival kit on me but if we get stuck i got Enbilulu Ishum to load up an E-WEB Missile Launcher and an old Maser fan i've been rebuilding from Chiss scrap. It may be a bit of a junker but it'll pull a synthetic appart from a hundred meters. ::
Venku pulled up to the settlement outskirts, cut the power of the silent swoop and disembarked slowly still broadcasting to his colleagues.
:: Actually, thinking about it, they're not much use now sitting in your cargo hold, maybe we'll get to play with them later. If nobody objects i suggest we split up to investigate the settlement, it's pretty square so a bike for each side then we can force these life-signs to converge in the centre, that way we shouldn't get jumped... in theory... ::

If you can't for any reason get through...*static*...to me by comlink, try telepathy. Especially if...*static*...you encounter any danger. ::Having no objections to Venku's idea, Garwig drove the swoop bike to the eastern side of the settlement outskirts. Using his comlink again, he contacted Yumiko and Mieka.:: Yumiko, we're going to each take a...*static*...side of the settlement to cover more ground. We'll meet at the center. ::=Yumiko Kikuchia= :: Roger that, Saarai-kaar. I see you're taking the east side, we'll...*static*...go for the western side. ::That said, the zabrak raised her voice a little so Mieka the zeltron woman could hear her from behind."Garwig just called. We'll each be taking different sides of the settlement. We're taking the west." =Mieka Rugiz= "I got no objections. Let's go!" She said and continued to hold on as Yumiko directed the bike to the outskirts at the west.=Garwig Gil Ga'Mesh= After hearing the zabrak's response, Garwig contacted Xeonon Solomon to let him in on the plan.:: Xeonon, it's Garwig. Since the settlement...*static*...is somewhat square in size, Venku has suggested we each individually...*static*...take sides of the town and meet at the center. I'm taking the east side, Yumiko is taking the west. You ok with this? ::He asked and waited for a response.=Lynda Jarvio= Meanwhile as the Hapan rode with the Imperial Knight, she heard him explain his brief history being a slave as well. Making a brief giggle and a warm smile after Xeonon said she's lucky to have Garwig was a friend. Upon the man saying the Jensaarai served an empire, Lynda took note of him mentioning that, and allowing him to finish, Lynda responded."Thanks, Mister Solomon. Oh, and I'm not sure if the Saarai-kaar informed you, but the planet of Contruum, or rather the District of Khagarbhan, is no longer governed by the Empire of Edjedha. More or less it's citizens are doing the governing on their own, while the Jensaarai perform any special services for them in exchange for various stuff. Garwig however is looking to highly suggest to the people of Contruum about it joining with the Galactic Republic for building stronger alliances with other powers in the galaxy. What do you think of the idea, Xeonon?" The Hapan would ask the man, but of course it would be at this very time the call from the comm to Xeonon from Garwig would come through.

Of all the timings Garwig would speak it would be at the exact moment the blonde bombshell on his back spoke to him. Taking his left hand off the bikes handle Xeonon depressed the little ear bud that he used to talk rather than talk on the open comms. I hear you, Lynda and I will swing around from the North and check things out. Might find out why this place went dark so long ago. Grabbing hold of the handle again he turned it the rest of the way, of course they would be coming from the South. Going full speed now they swung around the side of the town they managed to catch up to Yumiko. No I was not aware of this what happened if I may ask? Its always good to know how others have failed so I may better stop it on my side of the things. Pausing for a moment his face became puzzled.
Did you say the Republic? I wont lie I have no special love for them but I have no qualms with them hell I have a few friends within their borders. I just find that they are easily corruptible, and under prepared for the threats that are out there. A little more than a year ago there was a powerful Sith Empire forming on Korriban, right under their noses and they had not the slightest clue. So to prepare them, there were staged attacks on Dac and as I later found out Rendili. Two key worlds for building ships and we blew through their defenses like a knife through butter. One pinned on the NOE, while the other Vong both were made to get the Republic to build up their military strength and judging by the way things are it worked. So I guess I feel they are weak and under prepared but their hearts are in the right place. I want them to do well for the sake of the galaxy and its citizens.

:: *static* Acknowledged *static* :: Venku replied to Garwig.
He crept into the settlement with caution, lightsaber in hand but not activated. The dusty streets and passageways were completely deserted and a strong wind was starting to whip detritus into the air. Looking like he was on a desert expedition, Venku wrapped a travelling shawl across his face and shrank further under the hood of his black cloak to protect himself from the dust.
Normal reconnaissance tactics would dictate a climb to higher ground to survey the area but seeing as the homestead was generally made up of one story ancient habitation pods Venku decided to investigate some of the outlying buildings. His datapad displayed movement to his left, about 200 meters away, he walked 5 steps and the reading was gone, then the movement was to his right, he moved to that direction and it flashed in front of him now 500 meters. The Zeltron was on a straight road, there was nothing directly in front of him. He raised an eyebrow; I don't like this one bit!
The wind continued to build causing the previously silent village to become a creepy expanse of random doors banging open and closed or so he surmised. He melted into the wall of one of the larger houses in this section like a shadow, trying the door silently with one finger expanding his mind to the danger of booby trap devices he entered without issue. More of a large hut than a house the Zeltron cautiously cleared each room, there was definitely nobody here - the dust filled ramshackle rooms looked like they had been deserted for years - but this was where his first sensor readings were coming from.

He was just about to leave the hut and re-start his search when he noticed some of the dust he'd kicked up move in a breeze near a delapedated wardrobe. He flung it aside with a wave of his hand and it smashed into rotten pieces against the wall. Written on the wall behined it was the word 'Zealous' scrawled three times in what looked like blood. In the floor where the wardrobe had been was an opening. There as no light coming from the hole so the Zeltron lit a red glow rod exposing the tunnel. It was shallow and untidy, like animals had dug it and looked like it went horizontally towards the centre of town, it was just large enough for a humanoid to stoop and walk in, there would certainly not be room to swing a lightsaber in there, he thought to himself.
"Well at least we know how the life-signs are getting about... whatever they are."
He tried his comlink to inform the others but just got a lot of static, the growing stom outside was playing havoc with the comms. He tried to send out a simple thought through the Force to the others. << Underground tunnels >> before climing in holding his glow-rod in front of him.

Being less cautious then his Jensarrai counterpart Xeonon rode right into the town stopping in front of a large adobe building. Now common knowledge would dictate that the largest building was the most important one, as such any news or any word of what had happened in here. Hopping off the speeder Xeonon walked into the large building the wooden door fell off the hinges as he pushed it in. The resounding bang no doubt alerted anyone or anything that was inside but there was nothing but the rush of dusty dead air. That and the stink of death, something had died in here. Looking over his shoulder at his blonde counter part he smiled What better way to learn about a person then exploring an abandoned house.
Walking in there was a lobby with a large semi circle desk on the opposite end, and a skeleton of a body in the chair. The building had obviously been the source of someones final stand the wall now behind Xeonon was pocked with dried blood and blaster marks. Sauntering on over to the body Xeonon wanted to check it out just as the call came over the comms about tunnels. Got a body on the North side. He really wasnt sure if his call came through the storm and general interference but hey a guy can try.

Ten meters into the rough tunnel it forked into three tiny passages, Venku took three silver balls from a pouch in his belt. The metallic balls were tiny surveyor droids which hovered before him, he pressed a button on a wrist panel and the balls started to scan their surroundings.
After a second of hovering and scanning the balls shot of into the tunnels, each one would map the environment compiling a 3D holographic readout from the Zeltrons wrist mounted emitter. He followed the scanning ball down the passageway to the right as the other two were too small comfortably fit a humanoid.

=Lynda Jarvio= Listening to Xeonon Solomon during the ride on the swoop bike, the Hapan responded to what he said to her after speaking to the Saarai-kaar."I'll agree on the under prepared part, but I disagree on them being weak. If the Jensaarai do make some kind of relationship with them, I do hope it will strengthen both of the involved parties." She said, then got off the bike as soon as they stopped in front of the large building. Following Solomon, the Hapan lady too smelled a stench that could probably kill a Rancor. Hearing Xeonon again, she responded."I'll watch your back. Make sure we're not ambushed." Lynda told the Imperial Knight, then they made their way into the lobby. Her back facing Xeonon, she let him lead the two closer to the dead body. Looking over to see the situation for the brief moment, she placed her hand at her mouth and nose."What could have done this?" She said, then began investigating the wall sprayed with blaster holes and blood splatter."Whoever or whatever got to this person, they weren't alone." =Garwig Gil Ga'Mesh= Having heard Xeonon's response on the comm, the Saarai-kaar stopped the swoop bike after parking nearby what looked to be an old motel. Looking over at Scarlett, the Epicanthix woman who got off the passenger seat of the bike, Garwig talked to her."Let's head on inside. Let's see if we can find the check-in room. Might be someone in there." =Scarlett= Nodding, Scarlett responded bluntly."Understood, Garwig. Just keep an eye out for anything." =Garwig Gil Ga'Mesh= Nodding in agreement, the two of them continued on. Walking closer to the motel as they searched with their eyes for anyplace that looked to be the check-in lobby. Seeing some aurebesh above a door that said "Room Check-In," Garwig gestured for the lady he was with to follow him into the room. Opening the door, Garwig saw the inside of the place. Looked to be in decent shape, but it was way too quiet in there.=Motel Manager= "Don't come any closer!!!" A human male said from behind a counter in the lobby. Pointing an old slugthrower shotgun at the two to surprise them both.=Garwig Gil Ga'Mesh & Scarlett= Before they could even see the man, they sensed through the Force that something felt hostile in the place. Having reached for the lightsabers, the two Forceful's ignited their blades shortly after the human male revealed himself behind the counter. Having their lightsabers ready to deflect any shots at them, Scarlett spoke to the individual.=Scarlett= "Calm down there. We're on an investigation. Why are you pointing a gun at us?" =Motel Manager= "Just stay back!" The man said aloud. His hands shaking as he aimed at the two Jensaarai. The look of fear within his eyes showing he must of saw something terrible. This man was absolutely horrified.=Garwig Gil Ga'Mesh= Hearing Xeonon over the comm about having found a body and Venku through the Force about tunnels, Garwig put two and two together. Something must be in town that killed some of the townsfolk. Deactivating his lightsaber, Garwig raised his hands up and stepped a little further toward the manager."We mean you no harm. Saw the lightsabers? We're keepers of the peace. Did something attack this place?" He said as he reached out spiritually to the Force to send calming waves to the scarred man. Trying to get him to see that Garwig and Scarlett meant no harm. After all, the shaky hand on a gun was far more to be feared than the steady.=Motel Manager= Himself feeling a bit more calm for some reason, the fear within the man subsided a little as he began to feel these two could be trusted. Pointing the shotgun away from them, he talked to the Jensaarai."You guys must be Jedi. Only the Jedi carried those kind of weapons on this planet long ago. I was still scarred though cause the guy attacking the town has himself a lightsaber too. A red one. He's been attacking our village with monsters too!" He sobbed as he placed a hand at his eyes.=Garwig Gil Ga'Mesh= "We're Jensaarai. We're sort of like Jedi, but we're good guys. Scarlett can you see to the man?" He gestured for her to go over to the manager to comfort him for a short minute. After she agreed, Garwig got onto the comm to speak to his fellow comrades.:: This is Garwig. Me and Scarlett have...static...found a live one. In a motel at the east side. Seems real shaken up. Seems we have...static...ourselves a Darksider of a sort in town. Might have some very...static...nasty creatures with him too. I'll try to get more info from the survivor. ::He told the others on the comm, then spoke to the man again as Scarlett patted the man's back."Where is this man with the red saber?" =Motel Manager= "He, he's taken over the old mine shaft that's just right outside of town. He forced all of the workers out with his droids and those creatures he's got! No one can get close to the mine to stop him. And even worse, he occasionally sends his droids to town to sweep the buildings for people to kill to send us all a message." =Scarlett Croatia= "Are they're anymore survivors?" =Motel Manager= "In, in an old diner at the west side of town. In the basement. They've been contacting me every now and then of their status." He told the Saarai-kaar as he sat on a chair in the lobby.=Garwig Gil Ga'Mesh= "West side of town. Yumiko and Mieka will be close by there!" Getting back onto his comm, Garwig contacted the zabrak and the zeltron women.Yumiko, Mieka, it's Garwig. I've been informed that survivors are gathered in a basement of an old diner around your area. Please do investigate! ::=Yumiko Kikuchia= :: Roger that. ::The zabrak told the Saarai-kaar over the comm after she and Mieka got off their swoop bike. Knowing they had to start looking for a diner in the area, the two began searching the buildings as they walked through the town street.

After a while Venku's tunnel was opening up slightly, he could stand without stooping for the first time since entering the passageways. Two of the three small survey droids had returned to him but the third, the one he had followed had fallen silent. The initial glow rod was dimming and after a hundred more meters extinguished reminding the Zeltron how dark these passages were.
A void of darkness enwrapped him depriving him of the gift of sight his other senses seemed to enhance, he was all of a sudden more aware of the fowl stech that seemed to be getting stronger the more he progressed. Without the visual stimulus he realised he could hear a very hum; a technological noise like the drone of machinery being powered. As his eyes adjusted to the darkness he started to see a faint light in the distance, the passage was definitely opening up into a chamber of sorts. The Zeltron unclipped his lightsaber but did not ignite it.
The longer he was underground the easier it was to get disorientated so he was pleased to find a landmark he could reference. The tunnel opened up into a circular cave no more than six meters across. In the centre of the room was a device, it was egg shaped, held in a durasteel harness, it looked like it was made up salvaged parts of varying age. The metallic egg came up to Venku's waist and had moving mechanical parts and lights, it looked like ancient technology and he struggled to find any sort of access panel. He put away his lightsaber and pulled out a datapad to scan the device for a schematic.

Walking up to the body, Xeonon looked over the person. They had seen better days thats for sure, the clothes had been shredded the face torn to pieces on the right side so that the skull showed through. The back side of the body was in far better shape, a red cape on the back rested over the top of a chair and on the side were two different weapons. A normal blaster rifle and something a little more dangerous. Well Ill be damned... this had to be someone of importance Picking up the gun he looked at Lynda This is a type of Disruptor rifle, most were destroyed but a handful made it into Imperial hands. No wonder we dont see any other bodies.
Digging around a bit further he found a datapad but its battery was depleted, so he would have to hold onto it a little longer to find out what was going on here. Putting it in a pocket he also held onto the rifle, it may come in handy later. Upon that Xeonon didnt exactly look happy, he was having a bad time as of late with the darkside and fighting one did not sound appetizing at the moment. Whatever the rest of that message was it cant be good.

Being as quiet as possible, Venku concentrated as he tried to reveal the machine's secrets. He recognised some of the components and his initial scans supported his suspicions - This was an old communications jammer, a really old mash of devices, no wonder it didn't show up using modern sensors.
"Well, at least we know what's jamming the Comms". He whispered to himself, the device was old but it was active, someone was maintaining it and he didn't expect them to be too far away. :: Ccccchhhhhccccc...static...found a live one. Pppppphhhhhhcccchhhhhhh...static... a Darksider of a ssshhhccccchh...static...nasty creatures pppppfffffk. ::The silence was broken with a loud crackle of static and a series of distorted white noises, it made the Zeltron almost jump out of his purple skin!
"Kriff!" The Zeltron's stealthy presence was broken in one loud moment, he switched off his comm as quickly as he could but it was too late. Un-naturally horrifying screeches, moans and growls sounded from all the adjoining tunnels. Venku became aware of multiple predatory instincts approaching him from all directions, experiencing a sinking realisation that he had stupidly wondered into the kill-zone

Walking out of the building Xeonon looked around, his body tense. If there was indeed someone in town then they could be watching them without anyone knowing. As he looked around the buildings closest to him he imagined where he would watch someone. Somewhere high, so that it had a commanding view of the area, it had to have enough cover that they could hide without being spotted and it needed to be easy to move from. In the past despite being an Imperial Knight Xeonon trained in the ways of the Inquisitorus. In the past Jedi Hunters, now merely used to track down enemies of the state he still occasionally used his skills for good.
That's when he saw the large building towering over the others. In a shanty town such as this that wasn't saying much but it doesn't matter. The church. Whichever religion it was Xeonon did not care, he personally found the idea of a higher being preposterous. Maybe a hyper advanced civilization had transcended past the need for bodies. Maybe that's what happened to the Celestials. It mattered not though because at this moment there was not time for musings. we need to get to that church. Keep an eye on things, and make sure no darksiders show up unannounced.

A rush of air preceded a foul cushion of putrid stench which pushed into the small round room from 3 of the 4 corridors seconds before a noisy cacophony of reptilian/bird like trills hit Venku like a battering ram almost bursting his ear-drums. At first just a few then all of a sudden hundreds of creatures were flapping and swirling about him. It took a moment for Venku to distinguish what was attacking him...
"MYNOCKS! " He shouted in disgust. as the room filled instantly drowning the Zeltron with stinking creatures and flapping wings as mawed teeth and razor sharp claws bit and scratched at him in an inconceivable fury.
