GBA standard rules.
8 - Dantoonie: Abandoned Jedi Enclave
Broken beams jut up from a collapsed building to the side. Glass and rubble litter the floors of the hallway. A steady rain plops down from the grey sky, unhurried fat drops of water slowly washing everything back to the dirt. Once, long ago, this place was a bastion of light in the galaxy. Now it is a gutted shell of it's former glory, the Jedi Enclave of Dantooine, a silent marker for the death of the Jedi.

This place looks like it took one hell of a beating. Wish I could've been there. All those jedi running around, screaming and begging for their lives... He drew in a deep breath through the filters in his mask, then let it out slowly as a small smile found its way to his lips. That would have been my kind of party.
His opponent today, however, wasn't actually a forcie at all, but rather a fairly high ranking mando or some such. He honestly hadn't been paying that much attention after the words "non force" had been used in the briefing. That didn't mean he was stupid, however, and given the usual outfits those mando boys tended to wear, he'd tried to prepare accordingly. As always, his sword and retracted staff were held on his back by gription plates, but he hadn't been able to decide between high explosive and armor piercing rounds for his slugthrowers. Naturally, he'd loaded the former into the gun on his left hip and the latter into the gun on his right. Deuterium high explosive and depleted baradium armor piercing. Best of both worlds, baby. The twelve round magazines had been modified specifically to accommodate Bloodshot's favored three-round salvo firing method, and each gun was freshly cleaned and itching to cause some pain.
He'd left his grenades behind, they'd be useless and just weigh him down against an opponent wearing full armor, and his dual blasters were likewise missing. If two dozen specialty slugs can't get the job done, then I don't think a couple more blaster bolts are going to be much help.
Aside from the melee weapons on his back and pistols on his hips, he wore his usual suit of modified katarn armor, ten inch gauntlet vibroblades prepped and ready to go. All in all, he was ready and itching for a fight as he stepped into the dreary rain that slowly pelted the floor of the small courtyard, even if it wasn't going to be against his usual prey.

He sat perched on an outcrop of blasted duracrete, crouched with one hand resting on the destroyed material. This was fitting. The man tasked by Kad to rid the universe of Force users fighting in the ruins of a Jedi Temple. It was poetic. If Ashrah was one for poetry. He had been tipped off that some bounty hunter/Merc was hunting him. Once he was done with this man, he would track down the person or persons responsible, and feed them their own genitalia. You don't bounty hunt a race of bounty hunters and Mercenaries. That is foolish. He scanned with his HUD, the rain pattering around them. It would make the footing precarious, but that was something he was used to. A non issue really.
On his back was sheathed his black blade, the custom 'knife' designed to pierce and cut everything but the strongest material. It had cost him a small fortune. Mad locked to his back was Kad'marev, Kads Fist, the shotgun loaded with explosive round every third shot this day. This was a special trip, a special time in every Mandalorians life when the hunter becomes the hunted, and as such he was prepared. The depleted baradium rounds would pack one hell of a punch. After all, Bloodshot had a reputation, even if he didn't know he did. You didn't hunt the Mand'alor and not have it reach certain ears. Around his left arm was wound his 8 foot chain, the 5 pound ball resting at his elbow, the 2 foot handle with the three inch hooked blade in his left hand. That and his beskar'gam was all he carried......
He spotted the Merc, who no doubt could more than likely see Ashrah in his black armour, perched like an Iron Clad Batman. He uncoiled his legs and jumped lightly from his perch, landing deftly with a slight splash 20 feet to Bloodshots right, his right hand still empty
Come on then...Lets have at it. We didn't get dressed up for nothin...

Bloodshot stopped, one foot perched on a toppled pillar in preparation to climb over, then stepped back and turned to face the other armored figure. The Mand'alor himself. You'd think the jedi could come and settle their own frakking arguments. Guess not.
Dressed up? This is my casual outfit. If I'd known you were coming fancy, I'd have worn chrome instead.
He considered the man before him for a moment, the chain wrapped around his left arm, the grip of the shotgun poking out from behind him, and the sword hilt protruding above his shoulder. Prepared for range, but more comfortable in close. At least I don't have to worry about lightning or force speed. Then without warning, he moved, jerking his left hand pistol out of its thigh holster and bringing it up to aim three shots at the other man's center mass, the high-explosive deuterium slugs streaking toward their target one after the other. Even though his opponent wasn't a force user, Bloodshot's habit of allowing a brief moment between each shot to re-center his aim was so ingrained in him that it was still subconsciously applied here and now.

Bloodshot moved, and so did Ashrah. The man was fast, but so was the Mand'alor. Bloodshots pistol came up just as Ashrahs shotgun cleared his back. He was moving to his right almost instantly, his HUD detecting the movement microseconds before his own enhanced reflexes kicked into Action. The handle of the chain dropped and hung as he pulled the trigger, Kad'marev slapping into his left palm. Blast pump blast pump blast pump. As fast as he could move. The Merc was good, tracking as he shot, taking a moment to re-center his weapon. Ashrah had started moving before the pistol and shot gun cleared their respective holsers, Ashrahs only maglocked. Bloodshot wasn't moving. Easier to hit. If he himself hadn't been moving as well. So equal footing at this juncture. His own beskar'gam wouldn't be punctured by the pistols rounds, but that didn't mean the explosive rounds wouldn't effing hurt. He had fought hurt before, but didn't feel like it at this juncture. The first round from Bloodshots pistol missed my centimeters. The second shot a bit further out, the third shot too damn close for comfort. If he hadn't moved when he did, he would be on his back in a serious pain. As it was, he ducked behind a chunk of rubble then rolled (still on his feet) out the otherside, 2 more shots barking from his gun. He was now moving towards the other man, on a bit of an angle just to his left.....

This guy's gotta be as fast as I am. No shields though. That's the downside of nearly invincible armor. You never think you need shields. The first slug from the shotgun blew through the edge of the fallen pillar next to Bloodshot's left leg, spraying him with small chunks of duracrete that he ignored. The second glanced off the shield over his left hip, the angle of the strike draining minimal energy, and the third struck him full on in the chest, sucking away a third of his shield power with a single hit. His own salvo ended then, and he ducked and rolled to his left, the fourth shot glancing off the shields over his right shoulder, reducing them further to half strength, with the fifth sailing through empty air.
The two shots that followed struck the pillar that now rested between him and the mand'alor, boring straight through it to shower the mercenary with red hot duracrete shards, though both shots were high and the shards themselves did no damage. Armor piercing, depleted baradium. That explains the excessive shield damage. I should probably try to avoid getting hit in the future. He came up from his crouch behind the pillar to get line of sight on the other man again and bring his gun to bear, centering his aim on the chest as the mandalorian stalked straight toward him. As soon as his eyes cleared the pillar, the first shot was fired, followed quickly by a second that was aimed at the helmet, wherever it happened to be at the time. Still in a half-crouch with his knees bent, he began a shift to his left that would take him out of the way of any retaliatory shots aimed at where he first appeared.

He had 2 shots left. One was Explosive. Bloodshot came up, Ashrahs HUD screamed, the shotgun coughed once then twice. The first was explosive, the second was not. His own shot was roughly the same time as Bloodshots. The explosive round from the Mercs pistol hit him in the chest and blew him off his feet into a pile of duracrete. It hurt. A lot. His HUD went all static for a moment then shifted crazily back into view, twitched once then settled. He coughed, the paint on his chest plate scorched and burnt off, showing the beskar beneath. He shook his head....
Ow..
He coughed then groaned. His chest stung, most of the force spread out along the metal and through his underpadding, but son of a bitch that was painful. He would come out of this with a cracked rib and a massive bruise at the very least. And a headache. By Kad that was uncomfortable. He pushed himself to his feet. No time to take a nap. He willed himself to move. He didn't feel like getting shot again. He didn't see what the shots had done. He assumed the second blast wouldn't do much considering he got shot in the damn chest, but he could hope. He dropped Kad'marev and drew his blade, grabbing the handle of his chain once more in his left hand, the 3 inch blade looking dull in the rain. He ducked behind what was left of a pillar to his immediate right and leaned against it with his back, sucking air through his filters...
THAT WASN'T VERY NICE!!

The first slug struck the pillar just in front of Bloodshot's pistol in the moment after it fired its first shot, close enough that the barrel deformed from the explosion and the second shot (from the pistol) blew it wide open, ruining the weapon. The directional nature of the bullet's explosive thankfully saved the mercenary's hand (and the other bullets in the magazine) from the larger portion of the damage, but the joy he felt at that revelation was somewhat dampened by the fact that the shards from the first explosion and the mand'alor's last shot finished the job of wiping out his shields. Frak... I really hope he's empty. As it turns out, he was, and the shotgun lay idle on the ground as the other man darted behind a pillar. Talk about some good luck. He looked down at the splayed end of the pistol in his hand, then tossed it onto the ground beside him. Well, relatively speaking.
I SHOULD HOPE NOT! I WAS TRYING TO KILL YOU!
He worked his fingers in and out of a fist to return some feeling, his hand still half-numb from the exploding pistol. Pushing that out of his mind, he drew the two foot baton off his back and climbed over the pillar to begin the short trek toward his opponent. He held the weapon in his left hand, his right remained empty for the time being, and he stayed roughly two meters clear of the pillar, circling around to his own right.

He stepped out from behind the pillar to his right, which would put him on the same side as Bloodshot. As he stepped out, his HUD tracked the mans movement, and his legs suddenly pistoned, propelling him forward. He vaulted a small pile of rubble and was on Bloodshot in seconds, his genetically modified musculature allowing him to move much faster than he had any right to. The hook bladed handle in his left hand snapped out, aiming not for Bloodshots right hand, or face, or even ribs, but instead for the grip of the pistol in the mans sheath. His right hand slashed across, directed at the fingers gripping the stun stick. Beskar wasn't very conductive (I think/hope), but he still didn't feel like getting hit with the bloody thing. His left leg was leading, and his knee was bent slightly, his right leg behind.....

He stopped when the other man came into view, watching, waiting for him to make the next move. He was ready when it came, though it came much faster than it should have, the kind of speed you expect when fighting jedi, not force-null heavily armored mandos. Nevertheless, he wasn't going to stand idle as the Mand'alor made his move.
The cortosis-weave gauntlet blade on Bloodshot's left arm shot out of its housing, covering the back of his hand and providing protection for the fingers gripping his baton, and his right hand simultaneously gripped his pistol and pulled it free from its holster. Ashrah was fast, certainly, but Bloodshot himself had been augmented as well, and with both men on equal footing in that regard, covering several meters distance would take far longer than drawing and aiming a single pistol. The weapon came up in a fraction of a second, no longer in the holster that had been the focus of the mandalorian's attack, and Bloodshot squeezed the trigger once as his aim centered on the junction of the oncoming man's T-visor. Let's see if that glass can withstand a depleted baradium round.

The gun came out and up, as expected, before Ashrah had time to properly close the distance. This is where he got to be tricksy. The chain that was hanging from his wrist and forearm now came into play. He launched his left hand straight out, underhand launching the handle at the barrel of the weapon. The resulting collision of armour piercing bullet and Phrik handle was about as expected. The slug fragmented, the 3 inch hooked blade blew off and went spiraling into the rubble, the hand deformed at the end and went whipping off to the left of Ashrah. Ashrahs blade then arced at the gauntlet blade now deployed, looking to at least keep the weapon hand busy. He pushed off with his left foot, which was leading, and launched himself at Bloodshot, driving his knee up towards the Mercs chest/Neck, trying to basically bulldoze the man.
The handle shot was a one in a million fluke, and Ashrah wouldn't try that anytime again soon....Plus it would probably be looked at with derision... . as it was, he wanted to close with the Merc to swap blows. See what the man was truly made of.....

Fair enough. If one of us can get lucky, why not the other too? The Mand'alor only had the one hooked blade though, and Bloodshot's pistol was still aimed at the junction of his T-visor. The mercenary did the only logical thing there was to do and pulled the trigger a second time as the man continued barreling toward him. What came after, if it still came at all, could be dealt with when he arrived.

Ashrah was in mid leap, right knee up, aimed directly at the center mass of Bloodshot. His HUD picked up the minute movement of the pistol coming in to fast position to fire once more, an alarm beeping in his ears.
Shut up
He spoke quietly to his buy'ce. He did the only thing he could, and leaned his head to the right, which caused his left shoulder to move back and down slightly just as the trigger was depressed. The bullet went into his shoulder armour, slamming his shoulder back farther, and causing his leap to go slightly off Plan. And by slightly....I mean Instead of being front on front knee to chest, he was now side on, having been knocked counter clockwise slightly. His left shoulder hurt like a Mothereffer, but the armour piercing round wasn't enough to penetrate the Beskar. Now instead of a controlled attack, he would instead theoretically be body slamming into Bloodshot. It would work, but was not what was totally desired.....

Ignoring the fact that his shot somehow missed by nearly a foot, there was nothing more Bloodshot could do save tense up his own muscles as the body of the other man struck him full-on in the chest, driving him off his feet with its weight and momentum. The bastard's heavier than he looks. The impact might have broken the ribs of a lesser or unarmored man, but Bloodshot just grunted as the jolt was dispersed across his chest plate and he was carried to the ground by its momentum.
His right hand was not idle as he fell, however, and he pulled it in and jammed the gun toward Ashrah's neck, his intent being to plant the end of the barrel against the unarmored body glove that was his only protection there and fire its deadly slugs into his brain from beneath. He didn't wait to start firing though, and the first shot rang out before the gun would even touch the body glove, followed quickly by two more as Bloodshot hit the ground, all three aimed at the vulnerable point of the neck beneath Ashrah's chin from less than six inches away and closing. If this doesn't work...

As Ashrah was spun, and started to slam into Bloodshot, he brought his right arm down and forward (in relation to him), bringing the blade still held in his right hand (so as not to break his own arm and or Bloodshots neck) directly at the gun in the other mercenaries hand, trying to drive it away from his own body so any shot made would go wide, and so his shoulder was properly braced....well, as well as it could be positioned here....His intent was to not get shot, and drive his body 'through' the other man, so when they hit the ground he would be able to attempt to get the upper hand. It was a long shot to be sure, but so was his blade.....

The sword struck the gun, sending the first bullet whizzing harmlessly past Ashrah's head, and Bloodshot simply stopped pulling the trigger, not wanting to waste the extra ammo of the next two shots on attacks he knew wouldn't do anything. Still, it's really gonna suck to be him in about half a second.
With the gun temporarily out of play and Ashrah's right side slamming into his body and driving him to the ground, Bloodshot's left arm was entirely free and clear to do pretty much whatever the hell it wanted with relative impunity. What it wanted to do at this point, was drive the tip of the baton forward the few inches it would take to hit the armor protecting Ashrah's lower right back (if indeed there is armor there). If the blow did land, and there were no precautions against electricity like those built into Bloodshot's armor, the usual lethal level of electrical current would run through Ashrah's body, causing muscles to seize and his heart and lungs to stop functioning, in addition to frying his brain and other organs. Or that's what would happen to a normal human at least. This guy's repeatedly demonstrated a distinct lack of normalcy. That, and this frakking baton never seems to work right anyway.

The baton hit his armour, and he indeed got a helluva shock. It didn't kill him though, even by all rights it should have. Ashrah had electrical insulation under his armour, but this baton was damn near too much for it. As it was his teeth gritted, his HUD spazzed and his muscled tensed up hard, to the point where 200+ pounds of Man and Beskar plowed into Bloodshot (nearly dead weight). By sheer force of will he got his body under control enough to attempt to slide his right elbow in such a way that when they crashed heavily into the ground, the appendage would slam into the underside of Bloodshots chin and hopefully knock that damned baton away, otherwise this was going to get rather uncomfortable rather fast....

They hit the ground and (due to the awkward angle and proximity) Ashrah's elbow struck the side of Bloodshot's head rather than under the chin, and the baton remained in place as metal clanged against metal. The mercenary grunted at the impacts and most of the air was knocked out of his lungs from the fall, though the angle of the elbow strike kept it from being genuinely damaging and he'd endured far worse before, so he managed to keep his mind clear. Yup. Not dead. Told ya. Stupid frakkin' baton. When I get back to the real world, I'm upgrading this thing by a factor of ten. Chagrin aside though, the baton was having as good an affect as he could have hoped for under the circumstances, and the new position of his opponent's right arm left his pistol free to slide back into place under Ashrah's chin. At which point he resumed the attack that had been cut off, pulling the trigger twice in the space of half a second.
Here, this should help with the pain.

Judgement:
Based on the hits dealt to Ashrah including the noted possibility of broken ribs and the like along with the positioning at the end of the posting where Ashrah lay, body tensed on top of Bloodshot from the baton pressed against his back which allowed for Bloodshot to position a his gun in a manner to fire rounds that would likely kill Ashrah in the next post. Upon brainstorming any possible scenarios for Ashrah to defend himself while from there, body still being tasered and all (seeing as I work with high voltage a current everyday in my job, any likelihood of Ashrah being able to regain control over his body enough to defend himself short of a miracle seems completely off the table); I see it that the winner is Bloodshot.
Winner: Bloodshot
