Ishmael vs. Mako Rynn (Bloodshot) Naboo plains (without the storm). GBA standard rules. You find yourselves in a vast field on the planet of Naboo, the site of countless battles due to it's open terrain and huge size.

The sun felt good on Mako's light blue skin as he strolled through the tall grass, though in all honesty, he would have preferred rain. Being one of a species that hailed from the oceans of his homeworld had rather predictably made him partial to the presence of water in his environment, and while the plains certainly smelled like a recent rainstorm it seemed that the clouds had long since passed. His garments were simple enough, a sleeveless black shirt, skintight and meant for use underwater, and similarly colored pants followed by dark green boots. The belt at his waist held the kama that protected the backs of his legs as well as a DL-44 blaster pistol on his right hip and his lightsaber on the left, and his forearms were adorned with a pair of cortosis weave bracers, easily capable of stopping an opposing lightsaber but lacking in the ability to short them out.He stopped then, seemingly picking the spot at random, and closed his eyes, soaking in the feeling of the sun and breeze as they lightly touched his skin. Simply being in this place had a calming effect on a being, and it was granted ten times over for those that could reach out and feel the force around them, as Mako did now. He let the calm and serenity flow into him and purge the doubt and confusion of his troubles from his mind. He couldn't have said why he'd chosen to take this stroll, but he was certainly glad that he had, and he resolved to stay and meditate for a time.A half smile curved his lips at that thought, as he normally wasn't one given to meditation. At any other time he would have said he preferred action and movement to calmly centering one's thoughts, but the peaceful nature of the plains was powerful and even he could not deny the beneficial effect it could have on the mind.

*Naboo has always been a place of quiet tranquility, its people diplomatic and its climate genial. Today is no exception. The sky is a clear blue, the sun a pale ring of gold, and the gentle breeze that sweeps through these plains carries a soft warmth. A pity I can't feel it; as I trundle along, wrapped tightly in a cloak of tattered black, a chill radiates through me. Ah, but it has always been like this: from the time I lurked within the jungles of Rishii, to the lava plains of Mustafar, this heart of ice has been my constant companion. A small price to pay, I suppose, little more than an annoyance, and even more a pittance when I consider I've managed to free myself from the other costs of the dark side made manifest. My body is strong and free of the wasting sickness that had plagued me for so long. 'And to think,' I muse with a grim smile. 'All I had to do was die.'*
*I halt as something touches the edge of my consciousness- a presence I've not felt before, and bathed in Ashla's stench no less. Frowning, I begin moving again, faster this time. It occurs to me to simply avoid whomever, but again I feel that chill, and this time it is accompanied by a gnawing hunger. I suppose it has been some time since I fed, and what better meal than a slave? That decides me. I angle toward the presence and make my approach, a black stain stalking through the grass.*

A black stain indeed... Mako tilted his head slightly to the side as he felt the annoying stab of darkness intrude on his peaceful meditation, but he did not yet open his eyes or turn around to face the man. He had no need to, with the energies of the place pouring through him so freely. Still... It seems that even when I do desire it, peaceful meditation is not a state I can achieve. Ah well, I always have preferred action.
"Greetings, friend. Do you wish to share the sun and the breeze?" He smiled, wide and bright and full of excitement, though not at the prospect of sharing his sun and breeze. "There's more than enough to go around." He knew why the other man had come, knew it had nothing to do with the sun and the breeze, and he was already standing on the brink of anticipation for the struggle he knew would come. All that remained was to step over the edge.

*I cocked my head to the side as I studied the Nautolan, taking note of his attire and what little of his build I could discern while he sits in meditation. More subtly I probed him through the force: letting my consciousness skirt along the edges of his, searching for weaknesses, gaps in his defenses, stray thoughts left unprotected, all the while drawing the dark side to me. It answered my call readily enough, bounding to my side like a faithful hound, eager to please. With my left hand I pulled my flayed robes tighter around me, with my right I pushed back my cowl, exposing my pallid, angular features and raven hair to the sun.*
*His words elicit a smile from me. I am not without a sense of humor, after all.*
"Were that I could," *I replied, smile fading only slightly as I began rolling up my sleeves to the elbow, exposing the leather gauntlets I wore on either forearm.* "But I'm afraid I'm here on an errand."
*A Jedi with wit is a rare thing indeed. Perhaps this will not be such a dull affair as I anticipated. My saber is left secreted within my robes, for now. Hastiness only spoils a good kill- this I learned long ago. Another lesson I learned applies here as well- only use as much of your power as is necessary to see a thing done. To use too little is to fail to impose your will upon the world around you, and to use too much is to cheapen the very power you struggled to obtain. Absentmindedly I traced the crimson crucifix tattooed beneath my bottom lip, pondering the situation.*
*I'd approached the light-sider (a Jedi, I'm fairly certain) diagonally, so now I'm in front of him and to his right. Perhaps six meters separate us. Not much distance at all, really. Waiting silently for a response, I continued to gather the force around me, shaping it, molding it for use.*

Was that... hesitation? From a being so blatantly steeped in the dark side? that's a new one. Patience is not a quality one would normally find among the practitioners of the dark arts. That much is evident in the commonly held knowledge that the dark side is the "quick path to power", used by those who wish to attain a standing higher than that which they have earned and been given. Clearly though, that is not the case with this one.
He stood where he was (as he had never taken a seat), and listened to the other man as he spoke, his smile never faltering in spite of the testing prod at his mind. With his senses and perception as open as they were, and his mind clear and empty from meditation, the other would find nothing of value to use against him, even were he to penetrate the Nautolan's defenses. He was as connected to the environment as he could ever wish to be, and the calm and peace surrounding him was more than enough to offset the darkness gathering around the other man. Whether it would be enough to remove it was another matter entirely...
"An errand you say? Perhaps I can assist you. Have you any need for the services of a jedi warrior?" His eyes opened then and found his opponent as his brilliant smile widened further. "Or shall I simply send you on your way?"
