We're replacing Best Couple with Best Duo this year. The award is ideally for a pair of characters who share a dynamic and great chemistry in their IC relationship that makes them stand out as a pair. This could be a romantic couple, a master and apprentice/padawan, a captain and first mate, you name it.
What are the things that you think makes someone stand out for Best Duo? What criteria do you think the Sithies judges should be looking for in nominations?

The dynamic between the two says a lot. There's a whole spectrum of relationships to be had, and it's hard to elevate one category over the others. What sets one duo above the others is how well the chemistry between the two plays out. Done well, you get a realistic and entertaining relationship. Maybe it's romantic. Maybe it plays out like a buddy-cop movie. Or maybe you have two characters that would be enemies, if not for a scenario that requires them to work together. Whatever the case may be, the interplay between the two seems natural, and as a reader, you find yourself drawn in.
A poor example will seem forced, contrived, ect. It's a headache for all involved, and you're just looking for an excuse to send in a squad of executioners to put the pair out of your misery.
