I'm newish here myself. [: But I hear this man is looking for some role play. Might want to check out the other threads on the JvS RP Planning boards, you might find something that piques your interest! Personally I'm enjoying the smuggler/mercenary/non-Force aspect of JvS, but I guess it really depends what you're going for. Like Panno said, a little detail would be appreciated!! [: |

As both Lia and Panno stated above. There are a good number of individuals and groups that would be more than happy to show you the ropes... But first they need you to be more specific in your In Character (IC) endeavors; ie, what motivates you?

Go with non-force. ALL the interesting RP is with non-force. Unless of course you're one of those magic men who run with us non-magicy types, then I suppose you'd still have some interesting RP.

I was actually thinking the same thing. As you can tell from my picture, I play EvE Online. I'm more into the spaceship combat aspect of writing. I think I'd like to make a force user down the line, but that's not something I'd like to start off doing. |

If you're looking to get involved in more military/fleet combat one option would be to join up with the Dark Tide and work within their navy. We have some extremely exclent writers with military characters and NPCs (Gideon Raith [Sp?] and Walter Avius come to mind) and I seem to recall Gideon expressing a wish that he had some more people to work with up in space.

Might that be something that you would be interested in Cyrus?

Should you be placed into a position between a Mandalorian armada and your paltry flotilla, I'm sure you'd express the desire to have certain assets on hand as well, darling. If the offer my compatriot should interest you, please feel free to follow her up on it. The Dark Tide loves having new faces in the fold, as we say; the more the merrier. However I would not pass up the chance to write alongside the infamous smuggler Adrien Draykon, for he'll give you a story that you'll likely never forget. The doors are open, my friend, feel free to choose one and step right in.

I'll have to think about that for a bit. I'd really like to see how well I can transfer my actions from EvE to a writing form. I'm pretty sure the Mechanics will sync up rather nicely. Thank you for welcoming me here. One question though: I assume from the name Dark Tide you are a Sith/Dark Side based faction?

You would be correct in that assumption. Everything from former Imperial Soldiers to devious Sith Lords form the Dark Tide, leaving us with the stigma of being portrayed as the villains in this grand tale.

You would be correct Cyrus; Dark Tide is a Sith faction of sorts. If you have any questions about the faction I would advising directing them towards Sinistra, as she is the leader of the Dark Tide. If you want to check out some of the Dark Tide RP I would advise checking out Gideon and Walter's RP here on Kuat jedivsith.boards.net/thread/1158/barracks-control-roomI've been really enjoying their posts, and if you do decide to work with Dark Tide as a naval character you will likely be working with them to an extent. If Dark Tide ends up bein not your sort of thing that as fine; I just figured it might be a good suggestion. Oh, and I thought that looked like an EVE avatar...xD |

While I wouldn't want to make a character that would start off as a Dark Sider, I wouldn't mind starting off with them luring my character in, possibly pulling him down the road of the Dark Side somewhere down the line. But for now, spaceship combat will be enough for me. And yes, my very own EvE Avatar  |

Depends on what you want. I personally recommend Skipray Blastboats. They're small enough that you don't need much in the way of crew, but pack a massive punch for their size. I don't rightly recall who sells them IC, but generally speaking, starting off with a small ship is okay.
