Well, after a very long hiatus and a semi-active return, I have decided to once more get my muse kick started and to invest some time into this site once more. Instead of just transfering my characters across from the old site I have decided to reboot Valdemar Drea'gor (And another one which is my semi-active one, though more of a time skip than reboot) and start my good old Mando character from the beginning. The reboot actually means I now have no affiliations, no armour, no weapons, and most of all no money. I am literally starting from the bottom and wish to make my way upwards and completely build my character through RP. Back ground is pretty much my character grew up a normal life, and what I am looking for is someone to come and cause something in my ordinary life to search out a way to actually work my way into the Mandalorian's rather than just be born one.
So yes, basically I wish to build a reputation that draws the attention of a clan and at some stage I ask permission to join the Empire and become a fully fledged member and sworn servant of the Manda'lore. Naturally this is a while off. I wish to start with nothing and actually write the struggle to find weapons and armour, starting with nothing and finding a blaster and having to work my way up to things like verpine shatter rifles and those high tech things we all love. And obviously no beskar at this stage, not even a flak vest, just the clothes on my back. So if anyone is interested, give me a shout out. I am yet to make my first post, but I am hoping for something epic. I hope who ever likes to join me in this quest of mine is an epic writer so I have something epic I am forced to respond with!
Thanks peeps, yours truly, Timothy aka the writer behind this wall of text... virtually.... Sorta... you get me.
EDIT: As my character is inexperienced, chances are he has never met any force users before and will fall for most "tactical" things. Though if we are attempting to kill my character, let me know first. I don't want him to die before I even get him off the ground. That is all. Thanks again peeps.

Well Adrien is recruiting for his crew. Maybe like a Firefly thing where you start out as a normal passenger and end up like that doctor? You know the one I mean/ Summer Glaus older brother. I dont know talk to him but thats my first idea for a long time and its not even for me.

I'd love to do something in the future with you, I'd be able to bring you closer to the Mandalorians.

I'm trying to start some RP on Corulag by having Imperials launch a coup against the Civilian government there. If you're interested in being caught up in that we could use you… I'm writing that Imperial interests are funding a counter-Republic political movement called "The sons of the Empire" that draw on Corulag's strong history as an Imperial world. Much like the rise of the Nazi's the Sons of the Empire would be quasi military and intimidate rivals and such…
While this isn't necessarily mandalorian related, if you want to start from the bottom, becoming a goon might be a reasonable start

I read your post here, and initially was going to let it pass. You seemed to have a pretty solid idea of what you wanted for your character, and at first I didn't think my little organization would be a good fit for you. But then I started thinking about where you said you wanted your character to end up, and I realized that it didn't matter if myself and my fellow writers weren't perfect for your end game. Because we're perfect for your journey. jedivsith.boards.net/thread/1892/galsaf-travellers-guide-ooc-information?page=1&scrollTo=35706Here is our "Traveller's Guide" entry. We do not run a planetary body, but we have established threads for our HQ, which is essentially our happy little fleet. jedivsith.boards.net/thread/1898/training-day-galsafThis thread is a Journal of the Whills story that is serving as our "origin story" of sorts. It begins on the first day of training and orientation for the 3,000 recruits Ander Tagira gathers to serve with the Galactic Security Assistance Force, an organization that exists independently of any government in the Galaxy to deliver justice to evil people, and provide for those in need. We have coined the term "paramilitary humanitarian aid and relief organization." It sounds boring right off the bat, doesn't it? Doling out food and medicine, blah blah blah. And that is part of the job. We find people in need, whether they need food, homes, or for someone to kick their oppressive government off their planet. We take no pay in exchange for all the door-kicking we do. So, boring, but I did just mention door-kicking. I myself am ex-Army Infantry (in RL, spent two years as a machine gunner), and have put a lot of detail into the tactical reality of our operations. Our writing is good stuff, focusing as much on the tactical fun of combat as it does the in depth character development this site is known for. Our writers are solid people, and we work well together. We're always looking for more writers to join us in RP. I think you would make a fine addition to our group for one main reason: Your character's Mandalorian aspects. GALSAF's commandos have a culture strongly based on the tenets and cultural features of the Mandalorian people. Many of its personnel are born and raised Mandalorian, others converted in adulthood, and we do have personnel who maintain their independent cultures. But GALSAF uses the language, Mando'a, the tactics and variations of the equipment. GALSAF's founder, my PC Ander Tagira, is an adult convert himself. He was partially raised by his father, who was Mandalorian, though spent most of his life with his mother, who was a former Jedi Knight of the Old Republic. A former Jedi himself, Ander converted back to his father's Mandalorian heritage in his later years, and founded GALSAF. I think your character, starting from the beginning of his story the way he is, would fit well with us. He could jump in to the Journal of the Whills entry we're writing, considering WE are starting together from the beginning much as he is. Your character could begin his life with GALSAF, and form a solid foundation from which you could launch your eventual developmental goals for him. Just something to consider. Cheers and beers, Aaron G./Ander Tagira

Starting as a goon is excellent. Whether I fight with or against will depend on you and your men, and what I believe Vald would position himself with. I don't want to say either way at this stage. Anyone else apart of this yet? Cause it sounds fun, but I don't want too many people it gets over crowded or not enough that is a bit one sided. haha Ander:
I think this would work actually, probably situated after this engagement. Once again it would have to be you stumbling across me for some reason, and whether I join you kinda depends on Valdemar's disposition. I'm kinda trying to write him without bending his own "mind" per se to just be able to grab an rp. I want his psyche to be real as possible haha But I can see that working, though eventually I probably would have to find a reason to leave if my current "goal" stays the same. Shun:I think you could be the opening of a path way, my original plan was to go off and do bounty hunting and get spotted by a mando or something. But its possible I get spotted other ways. Cause lets face it, Mando's were formed due to warriors deciding to form together. Boba Fett himself was a bounty hunter that decided to band other such people together. Etc etc, well from what I understand, so I see this canonically working anyways,

Well mate, it's just me at the moment. There was a post in orbit from an "Organization" Agent but I don't know what's going on with that at the moment. If you look around Corulag I've made 3 posts on the threads starting with the very beginnings of this coup that IC might take years. For example, Imperial officers just had a meeting pledging their support and collaboration on the coup… with the unity of the Imperial Army, my NPC has began to get support from local businessmen and corporations with Imperial ties to provide their legitimacy and funding for this grassroots political movement

Stumbling about sounds just fine. Considering our writing is expressed solely through the experiences of our organization's personnel, there's always a unit out and about fighting the good fight, or what have you. That's an easy one. I don't see why you would have to alter any aspect of your character to fit in with GALSAF. Considering the culture revolves around one you seek to insert your character into, I think it provides a good baseline. As I mentioned, many of our personnel are converts to Mando'ade, rather than being born into the culture. Joining a paramilitary organization where you are constantly having to use the language to interface with equipment and comm systems, train in tactics developed by Mandalorians, etc, it makes for a perfect set of circumstances that could eventually shape your character into the Mandalorian you want him to be. As for catalysts that could serve to push your character away from GALSAF and into the folds of the established Mandalorian community…that's an easy fix as well. There is a site-wide RP planned that follows a sort of real world "Cold War" idea, where large portions of the Galaxy, run by their larger government presences, become polarized economically and politically against one another, requiring that those wanting to succeed are forced to take one side or another. This RP will certainly affect organizations like GALSAF, that operate as purely separate entities. GALSAF actually doesn't even recognize the authority of ANY established government in the Galaxy, and no authority supersedes GALSAF's own established chain of command. GALSAF recognizes the laws of governments at their own discretion as long as that government has not been made a target, and even then only when operating within that government's jurisdiction. This will put GALSAF in a rather awkward position when things become so polarized, and this will undoubtedly cause strain that may lead some of our commandos to leave in order to support their own homeworlds and communities. For example, your character could easily decide to leave GALSAF in order to better serve the Mandalorian community he grows to be a part of. That was a mouthful, for which I apologize, but I hope it helps clarify things. Wherever your character ends up, you will always have a place as a writer with GALSAF if you choose it, either formally or informally. We do not require membership in order to write with us!

Nase, I like this. I can write Valdemar as a younger teen, young and impressionable. He can be convinced to join the milita as a bit of cannon fodder or something. And from that well we will see.
The only thing is how GALSAF gets involved without actually jumping in to ruin Nase's storyline. One of your out and abouts could come to investigate or something I guess and I get recruited... I'll let your imagination go with that one, though without Nase's consent first, thats a mere suggestion. Perhaps when I get home I shall make a post on Corulag, how many years are you looking at Nase? Cause when I truly hit the ground running I want Valdemar to be around the 20-21 mark to reflect my own age appropriately as he will be based partly on myself, though probably a bit more... psychotic and brutal I would imagine.

This is a bit of a shot in the dark… but maybe somewhere along this grand narrative of coups and political upheaval and such… the GALSF could be one of the quasi military factions backing the pro-Republic government when serious fighting actually breaks out? From there you could find Val and then you guys can move on from there?
IC the entire coup will take about 5-6 years… 4 of which will be quiet planning with a steady crescendo towards violence

You have a point there Valdemar, though Nase's suggestion is a pretty good one. When this Cold War RP kicks off, GALSAF will stick to their charter and be taking action against EITHER side, as long as they have justification for doing so. So we won't find GALSAF siding entirely with the Republic, though I can see them acting against the interests of the Empire, which still leads us to the situation Nase just described.
We would fit in well, also with this coup you have planned, Nase. The Cold War is intended to be largely political and economic in its conflict, less direct military action. But GALSAF focuses their efforts on all of these areas. We assassinate, support revolution, train insurgents and work AS insurgents. We hack/slice, commit government/corporate espionage, blackmail government officials, all those sorts of cloak and dagger operations you hear about, but never have much direct evidence of ever happening. So perhaps GALSAF would fit in better working against the Empire in this political coup you have fomenting, Nase? Perhaps we find out about certain efforts involved, without knowing the bigger picture from the start. And then, during the course of this background war between our operatives and yours, Valdemar fits in, eventually throwing his lot in with one or the other?
As a side note mostly, Nase: You said the coup would take place of the course of 5-6 years? This is rather extensive, though I love that you are prepared to cover such a distance. It projects a stronger air of realism that I appreciate. However, it is a long time, IC, so I'm wondering how we can connect these timelines, and am thinking that the two years of training GALSAF commandos go through might help move it all along? I wouldn't expect someone as fresh as Valdemar's character to jump right into the middle of a political war. GALSAF could provide his baseline/initial establishment, and perhaps during the course of this coup story, he could leave us? He did mention moving on, even if he did spend time with GALSAF. I think that might facilitate that happening quite well.

I'm curious as to how this pans out. Valdemar will probably stay a pretty "Lawful Good" type for the first part, but eventually he'll probably go into a neutral or chaotic evil. His perceptions of the world shaped through violence and trials. I don't really know too much yet as I have multiple possible tangents running through my mind currently.

THE PLAN
The conspirators: General Nase Talsey, Colonel Vander Grahm, Major General Cornelius Krieger, Commander Julius Tau, Lieutenant General Harkin Lorde, Headmaster Raz Bailey, Provost Jiin Tubeck and several other ranking Imperial Army Officers and Imperial Businessmen
These Imperial Army Officers based out of the Corulag academy and the planetary garrison have conspired to overthrow the government of Corulag and reinstate an Imperial military state.
Step 1. Coerce and Persuade other ranking army officials to join the coup Step 2. Fund and quietly support the "Sons of the Empire" unaffiliated political opposition movement Step 3. Evaluate the strength of enemies Step 4. Increase enrollment in the Corulag Academy to indoctrinate youth Step 5. Win over or eliminate neutral elements Step 5. Good faith campaign, lending imperial forces to combat crime, build schools etc. Step 6. Use agents in Sienar Science Division to produce new star fighters Step 7. Train Imperial Army pilots to man star fighters Step 8. Begin eliminating through arrest, assassination, bribery or threats members of the Republic govt. planetary security forces Step 9. Launch the Coup
This is a very bare bones sort of outline for what I had in mind, a lot of these posts would be made by me or maybe another Imperial character or even a member of the planetary govt if anyone else is interested.
I really like the idea of the GALSF hearing whispers of something, investigating the Imperial activity before the outright coup launches… Ya know…. investigating disappearances, trying to pin point leaders, following the maze of intricacies and convoluted events from explosions to the graduation of a class of bright eyes, indoctrinated Corulga youth from the Imperial military academy… You guys could try to warn planetary leaders and find them either skeptical or in our pocket so you decide to take matters into your own hands? Anything like that would be fabulous. And coming in after I make a half dozen more posts or so narrating the first year or so of this overarching plan would provide the IC time for Val to be trained by you and then you all come in together.
I was planning to have this be a solo project but if the GALSF has the resources to become invested in this, I would not object to working with you guys to try to pre-plan major events and such

I like the outline you have there, it works perfectly for me.
GALSAF does not acknowledge the authority of any government in the Galaxy outside of their own, though we DO strive to work with such governments as best we can, as a first option. So I like the idea of us using legitimate means to gain information, and what not, because it already fits what we practice. And of course, when legal approaches fail, that's when we whip out the espionage, blackmail, etc and so forth.
And Valdemar, you can fit in wherever you thinks is best for your character. I understand you want to lead Valdemar down a path of chaotic evil, as you said, so maybe that end game should be your determining point for where you start with him? I would suggest, based on that, perhaps Valdemar begins his life with GALSAF, goes through the training with us (that's a separate timeline, so you can write WITH us on this at the same time we're all also writing the training), and begin assisting in our operations against the Empire, eventually leaving GALSAF when the time is ripe for Valdemar to follow his "dark" storyline.
Valdemar could even serve as the LEAD commando for this operation (which would make IC sense because we can arrange for him to have already completed the training and some of the service with GALSAF before this storyline). Perhaps after he starts to change in his thinking, Valdemar could lead our investigation and efforts astray, or even subvert them blatantly at some point, causing us to lose progress in our attempt to stop the coup? That's an interesting thought there, actually...

That could work. Means I can start on what ever planet you wish me to and I send in a request to join. An application per se. From there we can move onward, but it means I can "Ret con" with Ander somewhere else, while I max out with Ander. Only the thing I kinda wanted to do was have very limited armour and weaponry, and for him to scavenge it per se as he fought. Would be an epic way to rise him from the bottom.

I saw what you said about starting from the bottom with nothing to your person, and that's one reason I thought starting with our Journal of the Whills story would be perfect. Ander's organized about 3,000 recruits, 500 or so of which will wash out before the end (so that the actual force meets requirements for the Natural Laws). These folks are from every planet and species you can think of, ex-military/security, law enforcement, etc. But we've also got teachers and mechanics, pilots, engineers, artists, ex-cons, etc. We've got all sorts man, and they are ALL starting from the bottom, no matter what they've accomplished in their lives, or with other military organizations and governments. From the ground up. And everyone's starting off with the minimum. It's a basic training course, essentially, though infinitely more intense and nearly two years long.
I'm not sure what you mean by this, do you mind clarifying? "…, but it means I can "Ret con" with Ander somewhere else, while I max out with Ander."
