Military Research operations were slowly being moved from the planet of Nirauan, in the Unknown Region, to the Imperial world of Dubrillion, which served as the Imperial Intelligence's Headquarters. The former superlaser facility had been recovered, rebuilt, and refurbished to serve the needs of this department and its future ambitions. The nearby walker production industry was of great use and the heightened security, thanks to Imp Intel, was much appreciated by the Military Research Corps.

The stasis pod had been brought back from the Unknown Regions by Shel Hu and her task force. They had found no way to open it or revive it from it's dormant state so handed it over to Imperial Intelligence upon returning to known space. The First Orders Intelligence department managed to determine that the pod was of Clone Wars era make and still contained a living being, though once again, attempts to trigger the pod to open or yield any further information had been met with failure. So here it sat quietly, save for a low hum of the life support. That is until one day. Seemingly with a mind of its own and deciding now was as good a time as any, the object lit up. It remotely attempted to access the local holonet, but this being Imperial Intelligence, was fairly swiftly rebuffed, though thanks to it's outdated software and relatively innocent inquiries, it did get the information it needed and sent out a distress call. One that would seem an antique for any listening for Old Jedi Order codes, but a call none the less. This intrusion into the holonet would not only draw the attention of the IT staff, but also any in the nearby room, as the integration caused local terminals to short out momentarily, a simple restart was all that was need to fix that issue.
The pod was not the only thing waking up. Inside, a young Mirialan was beginning to regain consciousness. Her eyes opened slowly. Her body was still numb and cold, but her eyes could look around. Displayed on a screen in front of her was relevant information the pod had managed to gather. Planet: Unknown, Atmosphere: Breathable, Months since last update: 999+.' Wait, that couldn't be right' thought Nalini. 'I was only supposed to be out their for a couple months. Darn thing must be busted.' Starting to get feeling back in her body Nalini started to wiggle fingers and toes. Yep still had all of them. And finally after a couple more minutes of waiting and rereading the same informative text, Nalini could move as if she had never been partially frozen. Reaching over, she found the pods open switch. Nalini took a deep breath, not sure what she would see when the pod was open, but ready to face what ever the Force had in store for her.

Dubrillion had become a busy site in recent months. With his elevation to the position of Moff, Deputy Director Valen, of the Imperial External Service had quickly implemented a number of changes on Dubrillion. He had ordered an expansion of the Imperial Intelligence Headquarters building which was quickly getting underway. He had ordered the expansion of the IES Security Department, the subbranch responsible for guarding IES installations separate from the Stormtrooper Corps. These new soldiers would then be given increased responsibilities in policing Dubrillion and defending the growing number of I.I. installations. Senior Army and Navy Officers were assigned 'Liaison Officers' from Intelligence, as were senior Civil Service officials, ostensibly to better coordinate Imperial activity on Dubrillion, but in reality it was to ensure they complied with Valen's directives and increase his control of the planet. A paranoid and extremely controlling man, Valen had made this a key priority after being made Moff. The Military Research facilities were being put to good work, continuing to develop and improve walkers. It had received additional support and manpower from the IES' Research and Development Department. Construction of a new surveillance station, code name RAINFALL was almost completed. It's purpose was to test newly developed technology aimed at monitoring electronic and holonet communications. The R&D Department had theorised that once operational it would be able to monitor all communications in the system, with research to improve the technology and expand its range well underway.

Word reaches the Imperial Intelligence about a character willing to negotiate something with the agency personally. This message came from several go-in-betweens who wish to arrange a meeting between whatever the Empire would send and a man of obscure identity, but one who offers enough guarantees. The said man proposes a discreet meeting at a place of the Imperial Intelligence's choice and offers a deal that would be hugely benefitial for the Empire as a whole.

Word would find its way back to this individual, along with an item: a short wave, short-range comlink, to be used to make contact in Cartann City on Adumar in Wild Space. Instructions included a recognition code. Once in the city, the individual is to wait for the transmission "Over, my aching bacon..." and then give the response, "Pour the hot coals of sin and shame of my body."

Dubrillion remained a gem among the stars. Ever since becoming the new headquarters for the Imperial Intelligence, it rapidly became a rather fortified world due to its role within the resurgent Empire. Even the Director's personal Star Destroyer, the gargantaun Resurgent-class Battlecruiser, was proof enough of the fortified position here. Yet, within its cities, the people remained at peace and without oppression. They did not fear the presence of the II, but rather felt safe and secure that they were present.

New industry had arrived to Dubrillion in light of the Imperial Intelligence's move from this world to the fortified planet of Bastion. The once grand complex was claimed by an industrial magnate among Imperial society that had led the movement in ensuring that the shipyards, early on, were thoroughly supplied and aiding the the Imperial Fleet at its height. When this person arrived, he went about reorganizing the industrial facilities here and expanding upon them to produce more than just AT-STs. Soon, hover tanks, other walkers, and all sorts of military vehicles were to be churned out to supply the neighboring Muunilinst Oversector, commanded by Grand Moff Kasalle.

Simulators could only go so far in training. The Storm Troopers regiments of the First Order needed to be capable of operating on any terrain and climate in the galaxy. Carida, with its gravity was a perfect training base, but the planet lacked the variety of topography needed for the best training. For amphibious training, some cadets were shipped to Dubrillion. An older Acclimator touched down and unloaded it's passengers. They felt pounds lighter, but the heat and humidity quickly sapped that extra energy they had. This was going to be a hot and sticky exercise.

The heat and humidity made the cadets feel like they were baking in their armor. They found it hard to get a full breath. This wasn't like the altitude lack of oxygen, the humidity gave the air a taste that almost confused your mind. it was so thick you couldn't get your lungs full. The armor was lighter in the reduced gravity, but it wore differently. You didn't feel the weight, you felt it rub. It was taking getting used to. That's why this kind of training is important.

The matches and training here exposed a few conditioning issues. The Troopers endurance wasn't as good as they thought here. The heat wore them down a little faster than originally expected. A few were angry that they had this weekness. They tried to push through. They were getting stronger here.

The humidity here sucked energy faster than many cadets expected. The heat they had experienced in simulations, but Humidity like this could not really be replicated. No matter how tired they were, sleep came hard, and 0400 wake up came quickly. This was hard, but this is how storm troopers were made.

Cadet Ecklund and her squad had just arrived on planet for an exercise. Inside the baracks she felt light and strong. She was native to Carida, its high gravity had and effect on her bones and muscles. Here that made her stronger than ever. She was outlifting men much bigger than her without much effort. They smiled because they knew what she had coming to her.

The time had come for training outside. Right away, the humidity hit her like a truck. The heat was easily handled, but the humidity was something she could not have prepared for. She struggled herself, but was able to encourage her squad. They moved as if it wasn't there for her, and in turn she refused to let them see her struggle.

The morning drills were all successful, she did have to make it a point to set chorns to order her squad to drink. The humidity could dehydrate you without you realizing it. That was a danger her. It would reflect very poorly on her if a squad member was knocked out for dehydration. After the exercises were over, she order them to take a nap. She had to get debriefed and briefed for the afternoon.

A common sight for Imperial Intelligence personnel was the witnessing of tactical unit training, the combat force of the Imperial Security Bureau. Made up of a small presence of ISB Stormtroopers and a large portion of agents, these covert ops units were professional for dealing with internal threats. Whenever one graduated, they were assigned by the Sub-Director of the Imperial Security Bureau with the approval of the Director of Imperial Intelligence. Plenty were situated on Dubrillion, but with the Empire's new boundaries, more were sent to Coruscant now in order to try and combat dissident and criminal elements. There was never a quiet day for any one of these units.

While her mother was away, as part of her training and expanding duties as she came of age, Reya was tasked with organizing certain logistics. She, nor any aside from Jolin Raynor or Vidarr Saren knew the exact destination. All that was told was to prep supplies for a dry and rocky climate, excavation, and to reoccupy and update Old Empire instillations. It was a simple enough task, Reya and the others in command of preparing for the campaign were simply preparing for anything that could be encountered in such a situation. Many among the rank and file grumbled and questioned what operation they may be gearing up for with a civil war on. But everyone knew better than to make those grumbles too loud, for while the Inquisition was not an officially recognized organization Zariel did wield the title Grand Inquisitor while heading the ISB, so disloyalty was always delt with swiftly and severely. As Reya made her way through the cold and sterile grey hued halls of ISB headquarters, she felt the presence. It had always appeared to her in times when she needed guidance. It never spoke, but gave her gentle nudges toward the right path. She stopped for a moment, listening and feeling where it pulled. Then after a moment, she took hesitant steps down the hallway that lead to one of the main meeting rooms, it was where her mother met with her trusted lieutenants, but today, it happened to be where a certain Dark Jedi and a certain Deputy Commander of the ISB were having a stratigic planning meeting. Hearing the voices as she neared the door, Reya cloaked herself in the Force, making herself harder to perceive both visually and metaphysically, and next used the Force to try and heighten her senses to hear into the room, so as to gain any hint as to what was happening.Within the conference room, the long table had been covered in data pads, old documents (some recreations, some originals), and many other key items to help plan the next stages of Zariel's plan. The only two living souls in the room where Jolin Raynor, an elderly human with long white hair and a possibly even longer white beard, and Vidarr Saren. These were the two men who had been with Zariel the longest and had proved her most loyal. Jolin had even been given the task of continuing Reya's tutelage while Zariel was away securing a forward base for Operation Renaissance. Reya joined as Jolin was finishing one point of order and moving to another.==Jolin Raynor==As such, Zariel and we dark jedi will be the first on the ground. The spirits that linger their may be too much for your troops to handle, so we will pacify any we encounter at the landing zone. Stroking his beard, the old man moved to other matters. Next, Zariel wishes to arrive at the Valley in as much splendor as her predecessors, as well as secure substantial enough firepower to defend such a key location. As such she wishes to have a fully functional Vengeance-Class SSD. According to her, her underworld contact, (a pirate going by the alias Lotus) has secured the black box or at least a recording of it, from the original Vengeance as used by the Inquisitor Jerec in his conquest of the Valley. If we can locate it's debris field, and perhaps that of others from Operation Shadowhand, mayhaps we can find enough of the parts of one to make this a realistic goal. What is your tactical analysis, Deputy Director?

Vidarr's eyes scanned through the documents upon the planning table. His hand moved to pick up one of the datapads, reviewing the contents of Operation Shadowhand. One of the times the Imperial did not partake in the revival of the Galactic Empire. He was more concerned about the state of his crew and their cohesion that joining in the Imperial Mutiny and the resulting last grasp of the Empire before its ultimate demise and shattering. There were all manner of information available, thanks to being a part of a more legitimate government of Imperial successors. Not to mention access to Coruscant and Bastion's archives. The Grand Inquisitor was making quite the tall order; a Vengeance-class Super Star Destroyer. Only one was named while several were mentioned during the Dark Empire days. Setting down the datapad, Vidarr addresses Jolin.
If we are to even find debris, it would be quite the arduous journey to rebuild them. The most resources we can get are from the First Order, but to request such would raise questions and eyebrows... the Grand Inquisitor demands absolute secrecy. A secrecy that will be hard to maintain if we try to piece debris together.
His gloved hand came up, rubbing his chin slightly. What remained of these models were either in pieces over Ruusan, if the records of Jerec's vessel were true, or vaporized during the final days of Shadowhand. These were impressively large vessels that would require a shipyard capabilities, equal or greater than that of Kuat. Yet, with the ongoing civil war, the Imperial surmised that Coreward shipyards would be scarred and require rebuilding.
There is something I can do though that may help us. Considering the amount of secret shipyards and staging points created by Palpatine and the other warlords of that era.
Vidarr pulls out a datapad and taps it, revealing a profile which he hands to Jolin. The profile was of a former Imperial officer, named Erik Jilarra. Last posted to the Dreadnaught-class Cruiser, a remnant of the Katana Fleet, which aided the Dark Empire's campaigns. He had seen battles in the Core Worlds before mysteriously vanishing. Only to reappear a decade later with the record stating that he had been captured by the New Republic and held in captivity for rehabilitation.
An old colleague might have some clues for us. He didn't go into detail, but he... mentioned that the Empire may have had staging grounds in the Outer Rim at the time of Shadowhand. A means to ensure pincer attacks at the New Republic. However, Erik kept his lips shut. Likely because he always was afraid of eyes and ears.
The record showed he worked as a shipbuilding supervisor for Kuat Drive Yards.
He might have some clues. His last assignment, officially, was with Imperial Intelligence and a group of Dark Jedi.

The old Dark Jedi continued to stroke his beard with one hand as he read over the details on the data pad. He had listened to what Vidarr had to say. It was true that building or repairing a Super Star Destroyer of any kind, especially in the midst of this bothersome Civil War, was a tall order indeed. Not to mention the secretive nature of the mission itself... But Vidarr, as always, had a work around. It was something Jolin respected about him. His loyalty and resourcefulness was without peer in the Inquisitor's ranks. If it had been any other person, Jolin may have felt the ping of jealousy or resentment at the man technically holding higher rank than him. But the Ciutric IV native had earned his respect time and time again. And today was no different.
==Jolin Raynor== Now why would someone, working with Imperial Intelligence have a retinue of Dark Jedi? Sounds like very promising lead... You know this man personally? Perhaps then it would be best if you were the one to make contact. Perhaps take our Master's daughter along, for some diplomatic experience. And added protection, given the state of Kuat at the present time. The old man glanced at a projection of the galactic map, complete with temporary borders denoting the areas of influence in the ongoing Civil War.
At the vague mention of herself, Reya tensed. What was the end goal here? She had read about the Vengeance-Class when learning about Operation Shadow as part of her studies. What could the target of such a massive warship be? Maybe this proposed trip would be an opportunity to finally get some answers.

It was hardly a question that needed much explaining. Vidarr had connections thanks to being raised on Criutic IV, the homeworld of Sate Pestage, the number two man of the Empire after Vader and Sidious. A number of fine officers were raised up from the various families and individuals that made up the staunchly Imperialized population of the system. Thinking back upon his days on the Star Destroyer, Adjudicator, it made Saren wonder who else may still be alive from that time. Vidarr rubs his chin slightly before looking over at Jolin.
Erik and I both served on the Star Destroyer, Adjudicator, during our more youthful days. He worked on the bridge as a member of the staff, namely with communications and relaying orders. I was one of the aides to Captain Quenlin, thanks to him being a friend of the family.
The formative years of Saren's career within the Imperial Navy. it was Quenlin who got him to meet with Zariel, weeks before his death during a naval engagement in the Tionese sector. The Adjudicator was lost, but Vidarr found his place and rose quickly to captain his own squadron. Erik, though, he had lost contact with him until he resurfaced after the death of the Emperor and jumped between various warlords.
From what I have read, there were reports of military convoys moving through the bulwark that was the Eriadu Authority. Destinations were unknown for both where they launched and where they were destined. But, based on their position, I'd hazard a guess at the Outer Rim. After all, not all of the secret shipyards are still accounted for.
Vidarr reaches forward and pulls back the galaxy map, keying a button. This would reveal the shipyards that were known thanks to discoveries made by various nations, namely the Imperial Remnant, New Republic, and Galactic Alliance. The Empire was good at keeping projects secret, so surely, there had to be launching points elsewhere than just the Deep Core for Operation Shadow Hand.
Are you certain that she is up for the task? She may be Zariel's daughter, but... I don't recall her doing much during Diarchy times.

The old man nodded along with the exposition and background Vidarr continued to give regarding their target. Erik Jilarra. Jolin could feel it in the Force, this was the man to provide what they needed to please their master. Vidarr's resourcefulness seemed to have no limits, a fact only amplified by the additional backing that came from their new ISB positions. Jolin was eager then to get this mission under way, but to also test his charges skills with a solo mission.
==Jolin Raynor== I am confident in the abilities of young Reya. Between myself and the Grand Inquisitor, she has had the level of training that is due to all Dark Jedi in our service. As for her absence from the spotlight during the times of the Diarchy, Zariel thought it best to keep her out of the political game, after all, we never could trust Torkan. And of course we will not be sending just the two of you. I encourage you to bring a squad of chosen men to accompany you. It was clear Jolin had made up his mind in this regard. But speaking of traitors, Torkan, I am sure Zariel will be eager to hear why the Outer Rim fleets did not join Shadowhand, and to perhaps interrogate those with such information personally. If you find it convenient.
Reya shuddered in her eavesdropping spot. She had sat in on plenty of Zariel's interrogations, and seen the aftermath of most others, and it was never pretty. And she pitied anyone facing that kind of questioning. It was an unpleasant enough thought to drive out the indignation she had momentarily felt at the Deputy Directors insinuations about her abilities. But her curiosity persisted and kept her rooted to the spot, being sure to internalize all the details that she could overhear.
