Dubrillion was a planet with beautiful oceans and lush-green continents, framed with fluffy white clouds.

Dubrillion was a planet of oceans and beautiful landscapes. In the past it had remained loyal tothe empire, and despite it's location it still did. Fel or other wise. However it was in the midst of a bloddy civil war, with the lack of a true leader the loyalists found themselves being pushed back by those wishing to carve out a small empire for themselves.
Frontlines: The once beautiful forest Mishashigu.
Erebus ducked down as his blaster clicked empty. Behind the safety of a burnt and blasted tree he looked around while changing the ammo. To his left was a blue expanse of lake, so wide he couldn't see the other side. The waves brushed up against the shell ridden shore, the water churning over the dead. The world seemed to not pay attention to the carnage it was facing. Going on as it always had. To his right though was another story.
Husks of blackened trees still burned, mud and water was broken up by stumps. Once a mighty forest it was all but gone now. Blasts of red and blue raced across his vision. Slamming in a fresh round the clone stood, the DLT-14 ready to blast anyone in his path. It didn't need to wait long as he depressed the trigger three shots hitting another stormtrooper under the right breast. Once his brother, his comrade they now fought to see who would control the world. The Imperial Remnant or some would be baron. Pushing that thought aside Erebus put his left arm on the fallen tree and launched himself over it.
Push forward, don't give these rebel scum an inch.
Despite being on the bottom when it came to rank the usual white stormtroopers looked up to him in awe and listened. He was no normal trooper but rather a Nova Trooper. His black and Gold armour making him look like a ghost on this battlefield. Controlling his fire as he steadily advanced he took down a further three before seeking refuge behind a large boulder. He was a solid 20 meters I'm front of everyone else who had been bogged down. Taking the opportunity he slung his large blaster to conserve ammo and took out his side arm.
Controlling his breathing, he aimed and shot. 14 bodies dropped. A 15th rose and was about to shoot his when a stormy with a blue cauldron finished him. Nodding his thanks he was about to push farther into the attackers flank when the world went black. A few seconds later his blue eyes looked around but saw only darkness. I must be dead was his only thought. Then the pain struck and he knew he couldn't be dead. It felt like he had been struck with a hammer in the chest. His breathing ragged, he removed his helmet.
The smell of burning wood, blaster fire and death premiered the air. Looking down he could see where a blaster had shot him, the plastoid still smoldering. As he lay on his back head in the dirt he tried to push himself up but found the pain to great. He lay there until the man who had previously saved him came to his vision. Sitting him up beside the boulder he put the gun in his hand and left. Not a word said between the two, none were needed. He was here to watch their backs. He was out of the fight for now.

Erebus looked up into the sky as he felt the sharp pain between his second and third rib. Wincing he exhaled as a coolness found it's way into his chest. It had taken twenty minutes for someone to find him and bring him back to the FOB. 20 minutes of pain as he limped back each breath labored. Thankfully though the bacta was already working wonders on him, both numbing the pain and fixing any internal damage. His chest wrapped the nurse left him to go work on other patients. Sitting up from the table he smiled. Reports were saying that the counter attack had pushed them back nearly a kilometer, with the casualities to show it.
He was pushed out of the room and as he redressed in the armour his eyes drifted to the sky. Pale white wisps of clouds dotted it and in the distance a flock of birds migrating. He was walking back to the vehicles which would bring him back to the front when he heard it. A whine coming from the sky, turning around the birds had changed and grown. A dozen TIE fighters screamed towards them, green blasts eminating from their fronts. Raking the ground the screams could be heard as dozens were taken out. The large green lasers cutting men and women in half, their keneroc force sending people flying into the ground or other things.
This is QT-80082, we have some enemy eyeballs coming in from the South, get your launchers ready. He didn't get a reply though, only static. His message didn't get through, things were about to go from bad to worse. He couldn't think about that though, he had to trust that his fellow soliders would find a way to take them down. No he had to concentrate on the now. Fixing things here, the front would wait.

It had been a week since the attack by the TIE fighters and things had not gone well forth loyalists. A bulge had formed due to superior airpower, and despite the ships finally being taken down it was to late. In a matter of hours half the the remaining forces were surrounded the rest killed or hiding.
Erebus stood up from his foxhole, his armour now a patchwork of a dozen different suits both enemy and ally. Looking around he clicked his comm three times and four other men stood up. All their armour was cracked, worn and burned around the edges. Walking out to the edge of the line they turned their IFFs off, in order to confuse the enemy. The once great forest now a matter of stumps, the 5 walked on a patrol, cursing their luck. A thick fog had settled in; which normally would have been no problem, their helmets should have been able to penetrate it. See in a different spectrum. The problem was all they had were damage and repaired ones, as such the walked weapons at the ready no words being said.
Within 10 minutes they were totally disoriented and lost. In the distance they could hear a small engagement happening. Blaster flashes could be seen through the fog but they were to far away to help so they trudged on. The mud up to their knees they literally walked into a wall. Following it they found the entrance, walking in they made their way through the hordes of stormtroopers. Nodding as they did Erebus noticed something, OME of the IFFs read QT-80082. His own on someone else. Get ready to move.
Reaching behind his back Erebus activated the thermal detonator but held it at the ready. The others did the same as they walked towards the vehicle bay, tossing the grenades out on a 10 second delay they casually walked away. The problem with fighting your brothers, was that you were liable to walk right into their lines. Removing the safety from their guns Erebus opened up. Taking the shot from the hip he ran, taking out someone his red blaster spat ionized death.
The camp now in a panic the grenades went off. Booooom!!!! 5 simultaneous explosions rocked everything in 100 meters. Munitions, people, vehicles they all exploded a moment later adding tothe carnage. Secondary explosions rocked the base as the five made a break for it. Keeping his weapon at the ready Erebus felt a bolt miss his shoulder by an inch, the plastoid melting. Turning around he took a knee as the others kept running. Controlling his fire, he sent out three round bursts taking out three before turning and running himself. It kept like this for what felt like hours. 4 running with one covering. Until they made it to a creek, they all layed in the water and let the water carry them away.

Erebus looked up from the Section he had been placed on. Hungry, and tired he did his best to doze while his partner watched the front. Everyone was working overtime to keep the lines the same size, but with the repeated attacks it was hard. Just as he was on the verge of falling asleep he heard it. The whine of repulsors, the walking of men, what's left of trees snapping. Sighing to himself he nudged his partner, apparently he had fallen asleep as well and nodded. Their movements slow, so as to not draw attention. Around them a half dozen dead bodies to mask who they were.
Dark circles under his eyes Erebus grabbed hold of one of their rocket launchers and hefted it onto his shoulder. One of the last homing rockets he shot the thing straight into the air, the weapon leaving a small white trail into the air. Slowly he leveled the weapon as blaster fire peppered the area where he was. The rocket curved, arcing in the air it struck the machine at a weak point, the back ramp. Punching through the thick armour there was a muffle thump followed by an explosion. The hover tank exploded as the munitions inside went off. Many of the enemies near the tank falling as shrapnel peirced their armour.
Mopping up the rest was easy, taking only minutes. We had a small group testing the defences at section oh oh seven three. Threat is taken care of but we are expecting more reinforcements within a few minutes. Requesting back up and munitions.

The nights previous skirmish was nothing like this one now. It seemed that that was just the appitizer for today. Three hours after the fight, a huge force emerged through the early morning mist. Hundred of fresh armour clad stormtroopers charged the lines. Erebus took no time to call it in Amd stood up from his fox hole hosing the the men with a mounted Z-6 Rotary canon. It was almost pitiful as the laser fire cut down the advancing troops, dozens dropped I'm seconds and those that didn't stooped behind cover. Standing there raking the cover as return fire pocked the ground around him he heard the gun run empty as it clicked over and over running dry. Shit
He knew he was screwed, alone against the charge maybe 50 men still alive. Ducking down the enemy stood up and fired, their rounds spitting up dirt as it ate through the dirt. He couldn't even stand up, and fire back the amount of fire would vaporize him. Getting ready to meet his maker Erebus unhooked his personal thermal detonator and keyed in the command code. Once it left his hand he would be at the epicenter of a ten meter vaporizing explosion.
That's when it happened, fire started from his own side, and the sky above his foxhole turned red. For the first time since the schism he felt afraid. This was different. This was scary. Eventually it stopped though and he stood up, after the shooting was done. Looking around he took off his helmet, his face that of joy and amazment. These were fresh siders, they had been rescued, the people attacking weren't attacking at all. They were running away. Taking the hand of one of the new stormtroopers he smiled. God I love you guys.

The front had expanded, this time though they had the advantage, having been set up for the long haul in case they needed to starve their enemies out the rebels were ill equipped to fend off brutal attacks. After three days of rest in the back of the lines Erebus and his squad were once again in harms way on the front. This time however it was on a long destroyed laser facility, the heart of the insurrection.
Running around a corner Erebus looked down from a walkway at the fighting below, it was damn near impossible to tell whos forces were whos. Same armour, same coloured blasts. The only thing that was different to set the enemies apart was their location, they were finally on the defensive. Smiling he looked down the scope of his E-17D at the figures below and he almost laughed at the irony of it. Back when the weapon was new-er, this was used by the Rebel Alliance to take on the loyal Imperials. Now the tides had changed and it was used to destroy the rebels. Scanning the field it seemed like things were going well; looking for a higher ranking solider he moved the barrel.
Finally spotting the tell tale pauldren of a captain Erebus breathed in, and squeezed the trigger. The shot was perfect, it took a moment for the weapon to move the 2 KM distance down. When it hit though the whole head boiled, despite the helmet the skin beneath sizzled like a steak on a fire. The mans blood boiled where the energy weapon went through his skull and out the base of the neck. The smell would have been sickening had he been closer; it took a moment for the man to die. Finally though he fell to his knees, shifting his aim he took out out a group of soldiers using an E-Web before he moved down. Snipers on both sides were fighting, counter sniping was a thing, but it was worth it. Just to keep your side alive.
Just as he turned the corner to go back inside the spire he actually felt the heat of a beam as it struck the duracrete beside him. The plastoid melted slighty and a knuckle sized chunk of the building lodged itself in before it cooled. It was to late however for he was already inside and on his way down. He had enough of this sneaking around, time to kick some ass.

As Erebus ran down the stairs he heard the gunshots coming from the rest of his squad. Figuring they were shooting outside he didn't think anything of it until he rounded the corner. Floating in the air was the sergeant, facing towards him he heard the man chocking as he clawed at his throat before going limp. For a second he thought he was seeing things, before his eyes focused on the only other standing individual in the room. A human female dressed in red armour, her left hand in the air still holding the dead man in the air. The other held a silver lightsaber. He had never suspected an Imperial Knight to fight against the empire yet here one stood.
He knew he was dead yet he still charged. Running full tilt he emptied his clip into the Knight. Catching her by surprise two actually hit her armour blackening the red armour. Yet she still stood, next thing he knew a body was flying towards him. Knocking the air out of his lungs he landed hard, pushing the dead solider off him Erebus hardly had time to roll as the blade cut his sergeant in half. Standing he charged the force user again this time tackling her to the ground with a thud. Straddling her the stormtrooper took out his side arm and open fired on the right hand. Blasting the lightsaber out of his hand, and searing the flesh and bone in the process she struck back.
Taking the gauntleted fist to the face the helmet rolled off him as he lay on his back she began to wail on him. Force imbued kicks to the chest and stomach. He felt ribs break, each breath labored he spit up some blood as he grunted. The attacks stopped for a second before he was lifted into the air. You son of a bitch! Look at my hand, it's ruined! You are going to pay stormtrooper. With that she tightened her grip her eyes normally blue a shade of yellow. As the rage boiled through she let her emotions get the better of her. She wanted vengeance.
As he was in the air Erebus felt his body being crushed slowly. Chocking out these words he fought back tears. If you want vengeance don't use the force, do this by your own hand. Falling to the ground again he landed on his knees and he grunted, fighting back the blackness that threatened to consume him. Raising his right arm over his chest to apply pressure he watched as she got closer. Standing he watched her pick up her lightsaber and walk towards him. Standing inches from her Erebus lashed out. The Vibro dagger in his right hand he stabbed her through the throat, removing the knife he saw the blood squirt out in time with her heart beat. Staining the room, he held his arm over his chest as the light faded from her face.

Not soon after the death of the Imperial Knight Erebus dropped to the ground as well. Everything hurt, and the pain was to much. Fading in and out of consciousness he remembered little. Being picked up by two men and placed on a gurney. Bright lights above him and screams. Lots of screams. Eventually though he came to. Erebus was laying in a large tent filled with the dead, the dying and injured. He was naked, and tubes went all over his body, llooking around he saw a doctor and pulled him over. What happened. His voice was strained and each breath pained him. His chest was wrapped in bandages stained red slightly. Tied so tight they made his breathing shallow but at least he could breath.
Trooper you are lucky to be alive what with the injuries you received. All your ribs are broken, a punctured lung, your left arm was mangled beyond repair and we had to amputate three of your fingers on your right hand. What the hell happened to you.
He knew about the ribs, that pain was obviousbut the news about his arm and hand was like a hammer blow. He was speechless as he attempted to move the appendages to no avail. Looking over he saw his hand bandaged and much of his left arm missing. Letting out an animalistic wail he fought back tears. Not from the pain, no he was pretty doped up. This was anguish that he would never again be able to help his men. Aid the empire.

Despite Dubrillion's backwater location within the First Order, a recent discovery, by Imperial-funded expeditions upon the planet's surface, had uncovered a long lost Imperial facility, which was a combine weapon and testing complex. According to old Galactic Empire records, it once housed a prototype superlaser, which could used to fire into orbit against invading fleets. The superlaser was no longer of use as the chamber holding was flooded and the generators destroyed. Much of the installation was destroyed by a Rebel Alliance attack, back in 3 ABY.
Yet, the planet still had the capability to construct AT-STs and AT-ATs. This founding by these expeditions ensured the First Order installed a tight and large armed presence upon the world while labor divisions were brought in to bring the facilities back into running order. While what remained of the superlaser installation was dismantled, parts that could be recycled were put into the facilities that helped developed AT-STs and AT-ATs. Imperial colonists were also brought from the nearby worlds of Muunilist and Bastion to help with the Imperialization of the planet, under the guidance of the Imperial Civil Services division.

With the facilities, native to Dubrillion, once more up and running, it became a major manufacturer for the First Order's AT-ATs and AT-STs. Its facilities even began to produce newer walker models for the Imperial army, that were breakthrough foundings by the Imperial Military Research Facility on Nirauan. New models known as the AT-MT, AT-M6, AT-PD, the Heavy Scout Walker and the Mobile Assault Walker were being churned out, shipped off to various fronts in order to resupply the armored divisions of the Imperial Army. Due to its significance, the Supreme Commander shipped veteran troops from the frontlines to serve as a much-needed security for the planet. Its importance was evident and thus the Imperial leader sought to keep it well protected.

Reinhard Yularen, now a Central Commander, arrived to the world of Dubrillion. Dubrillion had been assigned to the senior Intelligence Officer in order to enact much needed reforms in the various Imperial Intelligence Agencies.
The first act of Yularen was to establish his headquarters on the planet. In true Imperial fashion, Yularen confiscated the largest skyscraper on the planet, the 'Dubrillion Plaza Hotel' and began conversions.
For weeks, Imperial engineers ripped out and out in walls, rebuilt the electronics, installed prison blocks and vaults in the lowest reaches of the extended cellars and generally renovated the building.
After massive renovations, the building was declared ready for use, and Intelligence personnel and officers from the various Imperial agencies began to move into the building, taking up offices and cubicles on the hundreds of floors.
Death Troopers patrolled the building, guarding the many different secrets hidden inside. Automatic defence systems were installed at the blast doors of the various vaults and archives, and several barracks and armouries were established on the various floors.
It was now very much a First Order building.
Yularen took the penthouse with its massive circular office, giving him a view over the massive high rise city to the lush terrain beyond. Strictly speaking, this office should belong to the highest ranking Intelligence Officer, but Yularen's ambitions dictated his station - it was an assumption of things to come.

A recent addition to Dubrillion was the establishment of an academy for Imperial Intelligence recruits. Many of which came from the worlds of Muunilinst, Kuat, Bastion and other significant Imperial systems. The Emperor had ensured that the best and most experienced of the Intel's officers were made ready and available to lead the classes, ensuring the students were educated well and made effective agents of the First Order. Nicademus even made an appearance at the graduation of the first class of agents, standing at a podium, with senior members of the High Command and Director Piett, the head of the Imperial Intelligence. It was money well spent, the Emperor had said privately, and manpower well utilized.

The Imperial Intelligence HQ on Dubrillion was given notification of the Emperor's arrival to the planet. His personal flagship entering orbit within a week and his transport slipping into the atmosphere and heading to the surface. Once he arrived, a guard of his Stormtroopers, the Braxant Legionnaires, landed ahead of him and secured the landing pad. Nicademus disembarked ahead of four Imperial Knights, swiftly making his way to the HQ's building. With him were a few members of Imperial High Command, which meant that his presence here was of the utmost importance. It became known that he was heading for the Acting Director's office.

At the Director's Office a young man in a lieutenant's uniform stood up from his desk and offered a deep bow to the emperor before pulling the door to Acting Director Piett's office. The inside of the office was about as unimpressive a site as could be found in an Imperial building. It was on the small side, with only enough room for the desk, and a small round table with a pair of worn but comfortable looking wooden chairs. Without cramming everyone in uncomfortably there was obviously not enough room for the Emperor's entire entourage. The table was completely clear of clutter and the metal desk was marred only by a functional data terminal and 3 stacks of precisely placed flimsi sheets. Behind the desk stood an average looking blond haired man in the black uniform of a Naval Commander. He could easily have been taken for a mid level Navy paper pusher if no one knew who he was. Executing an exactly proper bow to the Emperor the blank faced man addresses Nicademus in a flat tone. You grace us with your presence my lord, what sort of mission do you have for my division today? True to form Merrik Piett was direct and to the point, even with the Emperor of the First Order. He knew that the only reason he could be here was for an extremely sensitive mission, and any beating around the bush would just delay things.

Nicademus waits till the door closes behind them before speaking with the Acting Director.
Merrik, we have a possible problem...
The Emperor steps forth, pulling a datachip out of his pocket and inserting it into a holoprojector. The recording before them showed Aya Ordinii and Grand Moff Vlusu of the Chiss Sector speaking with each other. There was the mention of some sort of defensive pact and as a deterrent against the First Order. Other details mentioned the approaching of various other groups to sign aboard their establishing pact. Once the recording ended, Nicademus turns to his fellow Imperial.
This is a massive breach of the security of our nation. There is already a counter-plot in the works, by loyal Chiss, to prevent the provisional government from breaking away. I have given them the needed support of the First Order for what is to happen.
Nicademus takes the chip and places it back on his person.
If the Chiss were approached, then I fear others within the First Order will too.

Merrik studies the recording intently as it plays, his emotionless blue eyes catching as much detail as possible. It was disturbing that there were forces working to undermine the First Order in such a blatant manner. It was twice as disturbing that it was happening without his knowledge. He hadn't heard anything but the vaguest rumors from the Chiss Sector. It was difficult to get effective Chiss agents because of their insulated nature and general unwillingness to work against their own. Even so he had managed enough agents that he thought he should have been able to catch something like this. They had either gone to great lengths to hide this meeting, or his net wasn't as wide as he had first assumed. Piett turned his attention back to the Emperor, a small part of his mind already turning toward certain elements of reorganization.
The Chiss are in a unique position, while part of the First Order, they still maintain their own Identity and culture, which is always a dangerous proposition. It is a breeding ground for discontent and rebellion. Piett had always believed that the Chiss had been given far too much rope, and it seemed like in this case it might be enough to hang themselves. There are other elements that might prove similar, the allied Blackguard for instance. Although technically a separate entity the Blackguard had been acting as an arm of the Empire for a while now and with their leader having the title of Grand Moff it was safe to count them as part of this discussion. They would be the other likely target for such a discussion. However because of their status I have much less information about them than I might have otherwise. Of course the Chiss situation evaded my agents so we know my net is not infallible in any case.
It was hard to estimate what could happen in the universe, but with their rapid expansion in recent years there were many malcontent groups that could be pressed and used against the First Order. He had placed agents in many key locations for such an event, but as the recording had already proven that might not be enough. What is it you had in line for me Sir?

The Emperor contemplates the words of his Acting Director. Merrik Piett was correct on many levels. The Blackguard, as the Imperial had heard they were called, were a Sith entity, led by Viox Savage, Grand Moff of the Iridonian Sector. Their loyalty was convenience more than likely. The Knights of Ren had closer ties to the First Order, similar on the scale of the Imperial Knights, but slightly different oaths. The Knights of Ren had a similar philosophy with the First Order and attached themselves willingly, with one of their own becoming Empress and the mother of Nicademus's heirs. The Imperial Knights had recently been purged of dissident elements and their oath was both to the Empire and the Emperor.
Nicademus taps his chin slightly with his gloved hand, considering the options he had. With the Empire growing, there would be more internal problems in the future. Not only with longstanding worlds of the First Order, but also the new ones to come. The further his authority extended, the more stretched it became, and the more corruption could seep through under his very nose and through his fingers.
The best we can do, without alarming anyone, is keep a distance, but a watchful gaze. Do not encroach on anyone personally without firm evidence. As Director of Imperial Intelligence, I know you will utilize the agents of the Empire well and ensure security is tightened where necessary.
There was not much else to say and do beyond that though.
Tell me, Director Piett, how goes your operations on Dantooine?

Merrik nodded slowly as the Emperor gives him vague instructions and confidences. He makes a few quick notes to himself on a notepad nearby of a few ways in which he can move assets around as well as a few people he needed to get extra, discrete, eyes on. He wasn't intentionally being rude but he had learned long ago that lists and reminders were the best way to ensure that nothing was missed, it was part of the reason he used actual paper so often, well that and it's ability to be properly destroyed unlike most digital formats. As the situation on Dantooine is brought up he nods once to the emperor. Our efforts there are slow, but steady. I was actually about to come to the capital and propose a demonstration. I would like the use of one of the new Resurgent-Class Battlecruisers to give the people of Dantooine a proper show of order. The ships currently at my disposal are equipped for the job, but they do not have the same visual significance as the Resurgents. I want the people of Dantooine to remember for generations the lesson that traitors and rebels will not be allowed to upset the order that we bring to their doorstep. Such a statement made by anyone else might have been tinged with pride or at least a little passion but it was delivered by Piett in the same level tone he would have used to order more caf. He wasn't boasting about some grand scheme, just simply laying out a plan to move the situation on Dantooine toward a more swift solution.

Nicademus looks at Merrik when the Acting Director requested the ownership of a Resurgent-class Battlecruiser, one of the finest inventions within the revived Imperial Military. Its creation had been formulated at an undisclosed time and its first model, the Resurgence, was built at the shipyards of Yaga Minor. Ever since then, though the Imperial Navy still used other Star Destroyers, the Resurgent had become more common and a proud example of the First Order's military. The Emperor had no reason to deny such a vital asset to the First Order's Imperial Intelligence.
Nicademus turns to one of his aides who brings a handheld holoprojector to the Emperor. He flicks it on, revealing a recording of the shipyards at Yaga Minor. There were several Resurgents in production for up and coming military operations. He looks at Merrik.
I shall let Yaga Minor's Shipyard Authority know of your intentions. You may choose whichever battlecruiser, Piett.
He flicks it off before taking a datapad from another aide and proceeding to tap away on it.
And I will make sure they know that this is not only an order from the Emperor but an order from the extraordinary position of Director of Imperial Intelligence. A position that will grant you greater power and authority within the First Order, Director Piett.
Nicademus formalizes it with the tap of the datapad's screen. Within a simple gesture and some words, Merrik Piett had been elevated from his temporary position within the Imperial Intelligence to being elevated as full Director of the department. The Emperor extends his hand to the fellow Imperial.
Congratulations, Director.
