Maybe time travel is a bit to far fetched, I call it the Van Winkle Anomaly based on the story of 'Rip Van Winkle' we discussed earlier. Legend has it if you were to enter these undiscovered locations you'd instantly find yourself somewhere else in the layer of time & space. It's been there before the creation of this planet and it'll exist forever but how would we know such a thing would exist if no one has returned to tell the tale? Now before any of you begin to question it's existence I should say there has been unusual discoveries such as a ship discovered in a desert that has been without water for quite a while. Fishing rigs vanishing off the coast of Bermuda, the list is short but it's worth researching.
As he continued talking I couldn't help it but to feel a sense of pity upon him as I sat in the classroom while the session neared to an end. Doctor A.Elsenburg was a true genius of his time, unfortunately his brilliance led to the termination of his teaching career. If only people knew how right he was before it was to late, three years later he was dismissed by the Theoretical Physicist Albert Einstein. He would eventually declare another form of time travel is possible but not in the way that Elsenburg had proposed, the ability to travel forward is the only existing possibility at an accelerated rate. Alek Elsenburg had been given leave after spending two years in a psychiatric ward after his life work was destroyed which led to a mental breakdown. His unnecessary hand movements and the look in his eyes as he explained this revealed his obsession, anyone who mocked him was banned from ever returning to his class. Fools be banned, Doc was right from the beginning. Throughout the session I had been drawing the event of 2066, the last thing i ever witnessed in that time. It shocks me how different everything is now, and here I am astonished of the 1930's. A different planet.
I had not left yet, all of his students are gone but i am yet to remove myself from the chair on the top row far right side. I had realized this is the first man standing before me to believe in this anomaly and maybe it was not coincidence that I had ended up on this year, he could be humanities only hope for the future and just maybe something greater was at work here. For the next few moments to follow he had been motionless with both of his hands planted upon the surface of his old rickety desk, his head lowered down in front of him. He knew, the man even knew this would lead to his eventual career termination. So the question was why would he try so hard if he knew his career was at risk? He continued in his state of depression after slumping down in his wooden chair to pull out a flask i had a funny feeling was Whisky. This was also the period of Prohibition which was a ban on the sale of any Alcoholic beverages which lasted from 1920 to 1933, interestingly enough this ban would end in a couple of weeks. He took a couple of sips until he noticed me up here, reacting as if he were covering up a murder victim. Throwing his flask back into the drawer of his desk he swung around the side and stopped before moving up the steps which led to me and the exit. I will offer 10$ to keep this hush-hush. Please, it is all i have.
That's gotta be at least equivalent to 500$ in my time and he even had the money on himself, as I got up he met me next to the classroom door and extended his arm out. He intended on keeping his career as long as he could, i pushed his hand off my chest then shook my head. I guessed he thought it was a lost cause, as he looked at me he had come up with some crazy idea that I was some kind of Inspector investigating him. Even before I could say anything he continued to plead and cut me off from speaking, then suddenly he grew quiet after I had taken a step back feeling quite withdrawn and questioning his sanity. Though i watched him sit down slowly like a frail old man would as tears rolled down his cheeks. He knew his Career was over and where he was headed. It was like I lost the ability speak up for a second during his small breakdown, with his head on the table he had found the picture I drew during the last hour. He wiped his eyes and sat up while observing this picture. This was no doubt an accurate illustration of what the future would look like. You see, he was right. I am a detective, just not from this era and my ability to draw is quite professional. The cityscape and skyscrapers, the anarchy and what came from above. He was speechless so I spoke. Good evening Doctor Elsenburg. I believe we have mutual interests that i think we should discuss over a few drinks, I bet you have a few questions of your own.
