If you like darker stuff, the Dark Tide are the way to go. The Jedi are, oddly enough, the Jedi of the site. We have our own brand of the Imperial Remnant running around, and a few different fringe groups like the Exchange.

Non-force user huh? Welcome to the club. We're kind of a minority here but there are a few places to turn. You could always try a smuggling crew, there's really only two left that I can think of, the Fel crew and mine. Then there is the Organization, they're a pro non-force group, there's a thread around here somewhere that gives more details. And there's GALSAF who are a paramilitary group who travel the galaxy helping people, though I'm not sure if that's the whole job description. And lastly there are Mandalorians who like war and stuff.
Honestly there are more options but as a non-force character I think those would be the most preferable.

I was looking for something military-esque, but I wouldn't mind a smuggling character. I think that seems pretty fun.

I'm an imperial that has a military coup against the Republic government of Corulag going on… I'm attracting a small following of Imperial interested characters to develop our writing and create a pocket empire close to Coruscant to create some intergalactic tension. I could use Imperial soldiers, officers, pilots or scientists

Ceal: First off, I've fallen in love with your avatar picture. Friggin' fantastic, that is.
Second: As Adrien mentioned earlier, GALSAF is around and looking for more writers, as always. Though I wanted to add that we're not looking only for people to join the organization and write actively with us all the time. Regardless of how you want to establish yourself, we're always free to link up with whoever for fun RP and good story writing.
So whoever you end up with, we'll always be around for a good time!
Also, quick job description: Helping people is the main point, though our business is more oriented towards the average individuals of the Galaxy. I guess you could say we're an NPC advocate. lol
We don't care for governments or the like, we just find bad guys wherever they are and take care of them. Slavers, corrupt politicians, drug lords, you name it. We do also perform humanitarian aid, however. For example, if we take out a slaving ring, we'll round up everything they have, equipment, vehicles, ships, etc, and turn it around to make money off of it to provide resources for the people affected by the slaving ring itself. Help put them up with a home and what not.
We do just about anything, and our combat-oriented writing is kept as tactically proficient as possible. We have a couple RL ex-military guys like myself that help keep that ship running smoothly.
