I was in chat, when a proposition was...proposed to me.
The R'Crurak clan is currently trying to find a way into space, scrapping together bits and pieces over the years to make this dream come true. The R'Crurak clan has long been a lone beacon of peace for Tusken-kind. The only among a race of violent raiders.
The idea I was presented with was that the R'Crurak clan would be presented with a trade opportunity. A large amount of weapons in exchange for what Tuskens view as valuable; water, scrap, and anything else.
The balance of power would be tipped, and those in favor of the old ways would be given the means to make it happen. The elected Council would be overthrown, a Tusken bent on War would be put into power, and the Tuskens would cut a bloody swathe in the Outer Rim, occupying planets and fueling the Tusken War Machine. The War Chieftain would be ruthless.
I'm going for a WWII feel here. With all the major powers too tired and beaten to fight another war. Appeasement would basically take place, until the bubble pops.
Nartaga, my main character, and current head councilor of the R'Crurak, would be thrown out of power, but would eventually slay and violently kill the War Chieftain, and the R'Crurak would withdraw from all planets, putting the rightful people back into power.
I'd like this to make this a big thing if possible.

The Tuskens have enough people to wage a war? Sure, maybe a planet, but entire star systems?
Consider that making yourself a common enemy to both the GA and SE is fuel for some plots. You'd also make yourself a lovely new target to just about everyone.
My recommendation?
Just invade a place. Randomly too. Hell, invade two. Three. Invade four places.

Believe it or not, Tuskens have a large population. It's just spread out. With the weapons that the R'Crurak are getting, a bloody, iron fisted regime will form. This will unite the other clans and tribes out of fear and force, and push them out into the stars to take over planets. They'll enslave "lesser" species, and use them as cannon fodder. Almost like the YV. Except with more of them being mistreated and dying.... >.>
Who says that an inherently peaceful writer can't write a war?
You!? Absurd, I say! Absurd!

It's not going to happen overnight. Tatooine will obviously be the first to fall under Tusken control. I plan on writing this out correctly and legitimately. It will take time to gather the strength to begin taking over planets, and I'm willing to put in the time.
The endgame is that the Tuskens will remain amongst the stars, but have a horrible history now. It also gives an interesting twist on the Cold War, if done right. As I said, I wanted to go for a WWII feel. No one wants to wage another war right after finishing another one. We wouldn't take over the Universe, only a few systems to start. Just enough to be a problem to the powers that be. Until the bubble pops and they start fighting back.

Until the bubble pops and they start fighting back. Says you. My NPC got more action than I did in the last battle, and Gideon here is looking for a chance to test his mettle. Saying that no one wants to wage another war, isn't what I'd consider to be a correct statement.
