Hey guys!
So, I'm trying to port an RP from Gaia over to another rp site much like this one, with many mature/capable writers about to possibly observe the progress of said RP. I want something as close to JvS or old Roleplayer Guild style (The site crashed due to...you guessed it...database crash. They're under heavy reconstruction, and I don't expect to see it finished within months.). Plenty of formatting options, and oh yes...an option for a dark backdrop. ProBoards has indeed spoiled me in that regard. It's..wonderful.
I'm not sure where I should go/what I should do, but I'll let whomever's knowledgable with other sites what I'm looking for.
First off, I have a poodoo-ton of resource information readily available for readers/participants to pull from. Setting, locations, dates, profiles, weapons, tech and vehicles, the whole bit. Getting the ecosystem to reasonable/workable standards is still in need of work (and I'm hoping to recruit Kolga for that, if he's available.) With this much resource to pull from, it would be helpful if the site I'd be going to would have an option/place for planting said resources down, then having another thread available for posting. I'm sure you're now asking, "Dude...why don't you just use ProBoards?" Well, that works for Star Wars just fine. The fanbase is already large enough. This is a completely original storyline..no fanbase. A ProBoards site would be generated easily enough, but no one would know about it unless it was plaster-linked EVERYWHERE. I've already been to valucre, coloholic, and a few other sites..but I'm picky. They don't have dark backdrops. And Roleplayer Guild, you have to type out all the BBC, and they don't have color options for their fonts yet, either. I wouldn't be opposed to possibly starting up the RP here, as well, Whills permitting. I know a good handful of you and trust most your writing prowess. But if there are any better suggestions for porting, that's why I'm posting this here.
It's based in a futuristic floating city (named 'New Saul'), skyhooked to the nearly inhabitable planet below. Ecosystem is still needing work overall, which I'll attend to in due time, but the setting is very reminscent to that of Deus Ex: Human Revolution, some elements of Mass Effect (sentient droid NPCs - peaceful yet independent. Not hostile unless provoked extensively.) There's civvies, cops, Elites (my character) in the ASF (Ascension Security Force), politicians and council leaders, and a rather enigmatic religious establishment that has loose parallels to Christianity (my faith). Different Elites have different focuses on abilities and vocations on the field, mostly due to tech incorporated into their high-tech mobile suits. Combat would look/play (if it were a video game) very similarly to that of Zone of the Enders. You're getting the jest of it by now, yes? So yeah, thoughts or feedback would be mucho apprecianado.
