Mig wasn't surprised. Most Jawas dealt in something or other shady. Sand Lightning was one of the few that discouraged such things both publicly & in private. Still he wasn't about to go telling another clan how to handle its business. A quick message was typed into his commlink. It was unfortunately fairly short range, only a few dozen miles. However the equipment on the war rig included a much more powerful system that was connected with the distant Palace. With the message sent, the four panels would be on route within an hour, & would arrive within half a day or so.
-Mig There, they are headed this way. Until later, it is time for us to part again.

Tikk nodded excitedly for this had proven to be a most profitable deal that they had made. He was now hoping he could get his rather useless and trouble making, pirate-like brothers and sisters to actually help the clan for once. Still whether or not he could get them to was always a maybe, it sure would be the easiest way to provide extra help but at least for now he made quite a profit and there were always other options he could turn to to provide help.
-Tikk- Yes, yes best be on our way. Lots of partying to do and wouldn't want to Miss it, for the Swap Meet does only come once a year.
With that being said, Tikk nodded a farewell to Mig before getting up and exiting the tent. He began to walk back towards his clan's area who were as he had said, partying away.

Mig was about to wander around the nearby clans so more when he received a message from where his clan was camped out. It seemed that one of the representative of a major clan want to meet with him. If he could manage to cut a good enough deal with them, it would ensure his clan's place. With that in mind, he hurried back to the war rig. It didn't take long to return, & even less time to get a room set aside for their use. By appearances, the other Jawa was fairly normal, only the discreet icon marking his clan of origin separated him from the vast majority of those present. Once together, Mig offered his choice of several refreshments, of which only water was accepted. He obviously wanted something in particular, but seemed hesitant about getting around to it. After an hour or two of making minor trades & what ammounted to talking about the weather, Mig was quickly growing tired of it.
-Mig We both know you aren't here for these small deals. What is it that you really want?
The other looked somewhat put out, he either wasn't used to people calling him out or maybe even noticing. Either way, it allow the power in the dealing to shift, at least for the moment into Mig's favour.
-Jawa Very well, to put it simply your clan will fight the outsiders for us.
That was a fairly huge request, nearly insane in fact. Which meant he must have one hell of treasure trove waiting as payment. Mig couldn't wait to start debating the price of such a war.
-Mig & what is the pay for this trade?
-Jawa Trade? No, you misunderstand. You will do this because you are commanded to. This is not a trade.
Mig sat there almost dumbfounded. It took him a moment to wrap his mind around the blunt superiority in the other jawa's tone. This yellow-bellied wretch had decided that he could command the Sand Lightning clan as if it was his person servant. Major clan or not, Mig wasn't about to allow his clan to be more or less enslaved as canon fodder by one of the same high & mighty clans that had thrown him out to die in the sand.
-Mig Get. Out.
-Jawa Excuse me?
Pulling his blaster, Mig waved it under the other jawa's nose & yelled at the top of his mechanically assisted lungs. A sound that could be heard faintly even outside the war rig.
-Mig GET! OUT!
Hearing the roar, several warboys came rushing in. Quickly putting a rough idea of what must have happened they took a single glance at their ruler & decided on a course of action. Physically grabbing the other jawa, they hauled him from the room. They carried him kicking & screaming in terror to one of the loading ports & threw him bodily from the war rig, a drop of nearly three meters. Mig followed the entire way, both blasters drawn. Gathering himself up off the ground the other Jawa yelled back up to Mig.
-Jawa Don't you understand? I am here representing ALL the major clans. You have no choice.
Mig blasted a crater in the sand at the other jawa's feet. Mostly to make sure he had everyone's complete attention, but also to shut the annoying jawa up.
-Mig Sand Lightning doesn't fight at anyone's command. The major clans can burn in hell. We only fight for our own. Now get the hell off my patch of sand before I blow your cowardly head off.
The word would spread quickly, as the confrontation had attracted a massive amount of attention. By the end of the day, the entire web of deals that had been made about who would get how many of the Sand Lightning fighters had unraveled as the clans realized that the Sand Lightning's flying war rigs & willingness to use violence meant any attack on them would be extremely costly & only end with all the fighters they wanted to use dead. There would be repercussions though, once it started to patrol its bought territory, the SL clan would find that the other clans had decided to reclaim the area without returning payment & the SL Clan would have to fight for the land it had already bought. Another would be that few clans would be willing to trade with the SL Clan in the future, at least openly. On the other hand, fear of offworlder attack would drive more & more of the minor clans into the SL Clan.

At the sounds of shouting, it was as if all at once the tiny heads of the Dooka Dooka Clan members looked up and over to the source of the commotion. Loud voices always meant something exciting was going on, wether it was trading or fighting it was always something good. And so they clearly wanted in on what was going on and upon seeing a Jawa laying on the ground with a blaster crater near him, they basically jumped up from their seats, leaving everything behind to go and see what was going on.
Course they weren’t the only ones who had noticed for many other Jawas were starting to gather around and see what the fight was about. Though apparently upon arrival, there was something much bigger going on than they had known about for they were hearing word of some suspicious dealings going on. From what they few who had gone around asking could gather, apparently some clans been making deals about how many Sand Lightning they would get to defend them.
Being slightly infuriated at being left out of some kind of important deal making and Tikk not being happy that his new allies were being bullied, Clan Dooka Dooka started to cause some trouble of its own. Some started cheering Mig on with some of them now holding up makeshift signs with various messages of encouragement on them as they cheered. Others started chanting “Fight, fight, fight, fight.” while a few went around with little bags as they called out. “Make your bets here, how will it go down, who will win? Will the Jawa messenger push his point across or will Mig rearranged his face?”. And so bets started being placed, many betting on the little Jawa messenger in the hopes of getting their defence force while others placed bets on Mig for various other reasons, though of course Clan Dooka Dooka’s reason was cause they wanted to see a fight.

While Jawas were know for a number of things, bravery was not traditionally one of them. The Diplo Jawa on the ground noticed very quickly that the small clan he had just tried to boss represented roughly 80 percent of the real weapon present at the Swap Meet. Most of the remaining gun hands were currently taking bets about his impending death or screaming approval of the same. His own clan by itself outnumbered this minor clan a thousand to one, but that did little good to him. Which some of the rumors going around, the smaller clan also probably had more weapons that his own clan did. All the weapons of the major clans might be able to equal the arsenal of this militant clan, but that still wouldn't account for the skill & experience the Sand Lightning clan had. The Diplo Jawa came to the sudden realization that the Sand Lightning clan would have to be bleed out first if it was going to be put in its place. With as much dignity as he had left, he quickly made his way away from the Sand Lightning. It was time to sabotage some deals.
Mig was surprised & somewhat pleased to see someone at least was supporting him. He wasn't too worried that the Diplo Jawa would start something. Most of the Diplo Jawa's clan wasn't even here. It had just been him & a few others in a small transport. It was common enough with the really big clans. That & Mig had just over four hundred roughriders & warboys with him. If it because required, they could easily fight there way free from the Meet, or even put the whole group in the sand if the issue was forced. Then again with the Dooka Dooka clan supporting him, he more or less had every real weapon in the area on his side. Meeting the gaze of the other Clan's Leader, he nods in appreciation. Mig would be sure to remember this the next time they met up for a deal, even if the other jawa didn't.

"At the conclusion of the meeting between Mig and the messenger, most of the Dooka Dooka Clan were left disappointed. Not only had most of them betted on Mig rearranging the messenger’s face and so lost a good amount of money to those who betted nothing would happen, they were also hoping for that small amount of revenge for being left out by the bigger clans. And so now, with heads held low, they began to pass out the money they had gathered to the winners of the betting who were mostly smaller clan Jawas who thought nothing was going to happen.
Tikk was among the disappointed of his clan who were now slowly walking back to their sandcrawler with heads held low. It was still great fun to attempt to stir things up, just like back in the good old days of sailing around the Dune Sea. Even still, with lighter pockets Tikk went back to his card game to gamble away come more coins and hopefully win back what he had lost from the betting earlier.

Once everything had settle down once more, Mig got to thinking. Defying the Major Clans would have at least some backlash. It might have been smarter to just bite the bullet, at least long enough to build up enough allies to pose a threat. On the other hand, anyone that would deal with the Sand Lightning Clan now would already have beef with the Major Clans. Something that would help to weed out those that would have changed side once things got rolling. The other major player he was noticing was his northern neighbor. Like his own clan, they dress far from the Jawa normal. Perhaps they had found their own holy book. Either way, he would have to see about setting up a more official agreement with them. He didn't like acting officially, as it meant that the actual leaders of the SL clan could point to one more thing in their continued claims that he ran the clan.
On the other hand, it would be primarily a military alliance. With that thought, he could probably get Sheriff Xiuying to set up the actual deal. If he did it well enough, she might even think it was her idea. A short while later, he mentioned in passing to another Jawa how wonderful it would be to have the Dooka Dooka Clan as allies. Knowing full well that Xiuying was within ear shot.
Xiuying was a very practical woman & Jawa. She loved both fighting & leading others to fight. In any other clan was would have been doubly impossible, as Jawas rarely fought & the women were mostly kept hidden & safe in the cities. It was well known among the elders that Mig hated being reminded that he ran the clan. On the other hand, he also like to randomly drop 'suggestions' to the elders. He would plead ignorance of course, but he was about as subtle as a raging bantha when it came to dealing with others. It was plain as both suns that he wanted an alliance with the Dooka Dooka clan, but didn't want to do it himself for some reason. As the only Elder present on the trip, the task fell to her. Technically she was running the show, but with Mig present it was only technically.
Making her way to the Dooka Dooka sandcrawler she look like nearly any member of the Sand Lightning clan. The only real difference was the clothing being somewhat higher quality, & the large six-pointed silver star pinned to the front of her hat. Finding one the flamboyantly dressed Jawas of the DD clan, she asked to be directed to Tikkwikamak.

The supposedly "flamboyantly dressed" Jawas of the DD clan, were just standing around, doing nothing, like good little Jawas do, maybe even repeatedly saying utinni in their minds like zombie Jawas. Either way, whatever it was they were doing before the sheriff of the SL clan came up and asked to be directed to where Tikk was, they are brought out of their absentmindedness with quite the fright and both jump and actually yelled "Utinni!!" when it seemed to them, some strange looking lady came out of nowhere. Course when they regained their senses and actually realized what the lady was asking, they both would quickly point towards a great gathering of Jawas around a makeshift table.

Making her way through the crowd of gathered around the table, Xiuying quickly spotted the jawa she had earlier marked as the leader of the DD clan. She nods at him to get his attention.
-Xiuying I am Sheriff Xiuying of Clan Sand Lightning. I wish to speak with you of war.
Once again, it was the formal introduction of a clan representative looking to make deals. The site was a little crowded for a true trade meeting, but it wouldn't be the first time such a time had happened.

Tikk was gathered with a group of other Jawas who were sitting around a makeshift table. They were playing a game of cards, it was a kind of game of Sabacc that them spacers and others who gathered in the bars and cantinas liked to play. The only difference was that, they didn't have electronic cards to play with, and so had to devise a system of playing without the cardshifting. It was still a rather fun game that they enjoyed playing, and betting away whatever they could on.
It was right in the middle of this game that Xiuying game walking up and nodded towards Tikk to get his attention before stating her reasoning for being there all business like. It got all of the gathered Jawas attention whom they first looked at Xiuying and when she mentioned war their heads turned to look at Tikk. He was rather silent for a little while before responding in the formal manner.
-Tikk- I am Tikkwikamak of clan Dooka Dooka. Please sit and let us talk of these things of war.
With that being said, Tikk would wave everyone away from the makeshift table. Seeing that the game was over, the gathered Jawas would collect their winnings and take back their last bets and so forth until the table was pretty much cleared. Tikk would then gather up the cards to clean up the makeshift and return them to the deck as he waited for Xiuying sit and continue this conversation of war.

Xiuying could have been eloquent. Xiuying could have been subtle. Xiuying was as blunt as a warhammer. There was a reason she had risen to the rank of Sheriff. In the Sand Lightning clan, gender didn't matter like it did for most Jawas. There was still some fading sentiments however. She got to what was more or less the top of the pile be being a no-nonsense battle horse that would beat you to death with your own arm if given half a reason. This made her incredibly effective as both a war leader & as punitive motivation for those in the clan that thought they could get away with being lazy.
-Xiuying Simply put, I want you to go to war with us against the Major Clans. They aren't going to take an insult like that without retaliating. We can promise support in helping you to secure the entire length of our northern border. In as much depth as to mirror our own holdings. In return for you helping us with the same.
The offer, more or less, was that SL clan would help expand the DD clan's territory to an equal size to their own. Of course that would require the DD clan to grow somewhat to be able to hold that much territory.

Tikk just stared at Xiuying for a very long while. What she had said probably couldn’t of been said any more blunter than that, and so Tikk had to think on this for a moment as he attempted to grasp the full scope of what was being asked of him.
From what he understood, they wanted a clan of junkers who greatly enjoy building abominations and either blowing things up with them or selling them for profit, or just blow them up instead. And not only that, but had a nasty habit to at times, do more damage than good, besides the usual, trading, swindling, stealing, gambling and fighting amongst themselves for often times petty and ridiculous things, to go to war with them. Like the sheer ridiculousness of it all, just left him in quite awe.
He just sat there, quietly staring straight at Xiuying for what might have seemed like forever to onlookers. Course he would suddenly jump and fling his arms into the air excitedly as he responded to her.
-Tikk- Of course! We shall most excitedly join in your battle against the major clans.

Xiuying was beginning to worry that she had given Tikk a stroke or something. He just sat there looking at her for the longest time. Of course, it wasn't too surprising. After all, she was more or less suggesting that two tiny clans would be powerful enough to bring down the Major Jawa Clans. It was like suggesting a minor planet on the fringe was going to conquer the rest of the galaxy. Then again it had happened once. After all, the hyperdrive had been invented somewhere first.
-Xiuying Wonderful. Hopefully, the won't try anything. But if they do, well, we'll be waiting for them.
Xiuying takes a long look over the DD clan's sandcrawler. Thinking about it, she might be able to convince one of the Docs to fix it up into a proper war rig. She was already certain that the others would support the alliance as well, especially as it was handed down by Mig. Beyond that however was up to her calling in favours on her own.
-Xiuying I might be able to get one of our people to take a look at your crawlers to make them fly like ours do. I will have to talk to them about it before I can promise anything though.

Tikk looked back at the old sandcrawler that Xiuying had mentioned and for a moment watched as two tinkerers ran about yelling at each other. One was gesturing up at some part of the sandcrawler, waving his arms about as he did, yelling at the one beside him. The other was just yelling back just as much while some other was high up, hanging from some cable doing some work. It was a silly little sight, especially when a large plate fell, landing between the two arguing on the ground whom looked up to find the one who had been working now swinging upside-down. Course this started a whole new argument which came with them throwing things back and forth at each other.
Tikk just slowly turned back around to face Xiuying, now trying to ignore what he had just seen and fully well knowing their crawler could use some quality repairs for it looked like a hunk of junk. He sat there staring at Xiuying thoughtfully as he thought about having a fancy new crawler that could rain death from above and move all the junk they could get their hands on. It was a dream come true, and he almost was sitting there daydreaming about it till he popped back into reality with a jump and began nodding his head quickly.
-Tikk- "Yes, yes. Please do, for it would be ever so kind and most useful to this alliance of ours.” Tikk would say quickly with great excitement for all the loot in the world could be within their grasp with such a monstrosity.

Xiuying was happy. If nothing else she had managed to secure a new ally for the Sand Lightning clan. With a little extra work & a by calling in a favour, she might even be able to work them up into something much more powerful than they already were. Her train of though was derailed by her commlink beeping urgently.
-Xiuying Yes?
-Warboy Sheriff! Offworld thugs are gathering at the Sandcrawler that the envoy was last seen entering. What do you want us to do?
-Xiuying Gather all the boys back to the war rig. We need to be ready to leave immediately. I think we just overstayed our welcome.
Turning off her commlink, she scrawled a set of coordinates on a slip of cloth & passed it to Tikk.
-Xiuying Our fortress is there. Come & see us when you can.
She didn't even pause for a reply before rushing off back in the direction of the War-rig.

By the time Xiuying had reached the war-rig, the command station in the bridge was already receiving updates from a high flying roughrider. Nearly a hundred of the off-world thugs were making their way toward the war-rig. It was impossible to see what kind of weapons they were carrying, but the message was clear. It would be an overwhelming force to pretty much any traditional Jawa clan. In fact, it was overkill nearly on the order of sending a squadron of tanks. Unfortunately for the thugs, the Sand Lightning clan was not traditional. The first point of difference was the nearly fifty warboys, all of whom were armed. True, none of them had mounts yet, but the warboys of a Sheriff were the ones drawn to violence in a way foreign to most Jawas. Of course, if it had just been the warboys, the mercs would have had the advantage still. The real difference was the two dozen roughriders & their AirTIE mounts. Two dozen airspeeders cobbled together using the parts from TIE fighters, most with the weapons mounted on a turret of some kind & manned by a warboy gunner. It would be overkill, but not in the way the Major Clans hoped. Very soon the Major Clans would discover just how badly they had misjudged the newest clan in their ranks. Sand Lightning was made of the outcasts, & they were not going to be pushed around any more.
Most of the AirTIEs rose clawing into the sky, quickly reduced to a speck with their distinctive roar. Only fire remained close to the ground, floating in a halo to the still landed, but powered up war-rig. Everything was stowed & neatly secured. The warboys were already armed & in place near the firing hatches studding the sides of the massive craft & waiting at the arches leading up onto the top deck. It was fairly simple to track the progress of the thugs, as some Jawas were already beginning to hurry away from the main cluster. Most of the movement, however, was from the clans in the path of the thugs. The sandcrawlers in their path boiled away like water before a red hot blade. Each one rushing to get out of the way of the advancing trouble. Eventually, the mass of thugs stood before the war-rig.
There was a pause as the two groups eyed each other for a few moments. Then someone in the mass fired. It was not something small like a blaster pistol, instead it seemed at least one of the mass had a shoulder mounted anti-vehicle weapon. The war-rig shuddered as the blast tore a fair sized chunk out of several layers of the bolted on armour on the front of the war-rig. Without waiting for orders, the AirTIEs opened fire into the mass. As the war-rig began to rise from the sand, the warboys inside it regained their footing & joined in the fire. The thugs began to return fire in greater volume as the fighting started in truth. However, it did not take long for a growing roar to overwhelm the battle. The remaining nineteen AirTIEs came roaring in from above, raining laser fire on the massive thugs. The thugs scatter, at least those that survived the first wave. In the break in enemy fire, the war-rig roared off toward the Fortress Palace of the clan, the AirTIEs joining it as soon as they recovered & swung around from their high speed dive.

Tikk sat watching as Xiuying started to talk on her comlink, slightly wondering what the conversation was about. Though from where he sat he did hear what had sounded like something very important since they were going to gather all the boys back to the war rig by the sounds of it. Course, he just sat there a bit absentminded as he watched what was going on by the Sand Lightning Clan’s war rig, all the while just slowly shuffling the deck of cards.
Things were all in a hype around there as Sand Lightning seemed to be packing up their mighty steed of a war rig. Most fascinatingly it caught Tikk’s eye as the cobbled together Junk TIEs as he would like to call them, slowly climbed away into the sky almost as if riding off into the sunset after some wondrous adventure. It brought images of grand adventures to the little Jawa’s mind as he watched in awe and fascination.
Unfortunately his little fantasy of daydreaming about adventures of fame and glory quickly came to an end as he heard the sounds of conflict. The sudden rush back into reality sent him jumping out of his seat with a shriek of UTINNI! and knocking his makeshift chair right over as he did so. He would then quickly swipe his little winnings of the game he had been playing off the little table along with the cloth Xiuying had given him and begin his quick retreat back to his sandcralwer.
“Well fellas time we be a going.” He would call back to a little group whom had gathered in a little huddle near by the table to start up the fun of gambling again. The group would in unison look up from what they were doing towards Tikk who was running away with a hand atop his hood to keep it from flying off in his mad dash. They then looked towards the commotion that had caused the little Jawa to panic and were soon scrambling after Tikk back towards the sandcrawler leaving naught but a mess of chair, table and card in their wake.
Soon the entire gathering of the Dooka Dooka Clan had reassembled into the sandcrawler and were racing away off into the distance. Course as they sped away as fast as a sandcrawler could go, some were waving little makeshift flags and cheering on the Sand Lightning Clan as they made their retreat away from the devastation.

It was a while later, & a very far way away from where the great swap had been held that the Sand Lightning sent its newest toy out on a test run. The Eyeball rig was far smaller than any of the other war rigs of the clan, but it was also far more valuable, if, that is it proved successful. For this test run it was being steadily paced by a pair of war rigs & nearly a dozen airTIEs.
It was only roughly half the size of its defenders, but it lacked all but the lightest weapons, & those were only mounted slug throwers. Every scrap of power that wasn't being used by the repulsors was being funneled into the device that took up nearly the entire frame. Even the drives were being run at a sluggish quarter power to save energy. The eyeball war rig was true to its name, as it was more or less an engine & power plant bolted to the massive sensor array that had been ripped from the downed CR-90 'Occam'. It was more advanced even than the sensors back at the palace. Of course, everything within reach of the palace sensors had already been harvested.
The trio of war rigs were about halfway through their planned course, & had logged enough interesting things buried in the sand to call the new rig a success. Suddenly, however, the eyeball rig cut its speed to a tenth, surprising the others as they raced ahead for a moment before cutting speed to allow the Eyeball to catch up. There seemed to be a rather large commotion going on in the new rig. After a few moments, Doc Qaqulil came up on deck.
-Doc Qaqulil (in Jawa) <Hey, y'all gonna wanna see this.>
After a few more minutes, the convoy had settled to the ground & the three in charge of the war rigs had gathered over the cramped readout for the sensor. It was big. Extremely Big. It was possibly even BIG. It was also very, very deep in the sand. They couldn't get the clearest view of it, but if they were lucky, this could be an answer to all the Sand Lightning Clan's woes for a very long time. It could even change the game completely. They would have to keep a very, very tight lid on this information & who knew about it.

A small tent city had sprung up, literally overnight, in a forgot stretch of the Dune Sea. The core of the city was a quartet of war rigs, surrounded by outskirts of tarp shaded smaller vehicles & beyond that a ring of tents. In the center of it all was a massive shaft being dug into the sand. The shaft was nearly thirty meters across & a constant flow of small craft carried sand from the digging crews at the bottom. The walls of the shaft were a rough ceramic, made in the bellies of the war rigs from the very sand pulled from the pit. Already the pit was nearly a fifty meters deep, & getting deeper every moment. No one was quite sure what they were digging for, but it must be important for the elders to pull this many jawas from the work projects going on back at the fortress. There was even talk that the new sensor rig had discovered a new deep cavern with a well spring in it. If it was true, the source of water would make the Sand Lightning the dominate force on this side of the planet. The only odd thing was that the shaft they were digging didn't look like it was meant to hold up for long. For one you had to fly down to reach the bottom. That & the plates being used to keep back the sand were obviously hasty things not meant to last.

There was quite a bit of excitement when the digging crew hit metal plating for the first time. With as far as they had dug into the loose sand, it was likely that the object had never been touched at all by scavengers. A few hours later & the crews had cleared down far enough to reach what had been the primary access hanger. It took a while to clear the sand out of the still open hanger, but once that was done, work progressed very quickly. Surprisingly little sand had managed to make it into the object itself.
Word was send back to the palace for additional workers, as the needed repairs would be significant. On the other hand, as it had been untouched, little would need to be put into it as it was mostly all there still. The main difficulty would be getting everything connected up & running again.
