Ever since his election, as Senator of Fondor, Graemon Gorgano had sought many means, through propaganda, diplomacy, and rallies to rouse the fervor of his people in joining the Galactic Alliance. Fondor's prominence as a major shipyard, within this region, was vital to the future of the Alliance's military capabilities. The First Order's military economy had vastly out-maneuvered their opponent's own abilities, forcing a recent defeat at Taris and a campaign that took great portions of the Core area worlds. With its lone major shipyard in the Outer Rim, the Galactic Alliance needed a stronger presence in the Core, besides the Corellian system, which was why Graemon came back to Fondor.
Through his capable ministers, funds were allocated to present gallant and promotional advertisements, through the planet, of the Galactic Alliance's battle against the tyranny of the galaxy. As Senator of Fondor, he began using his connections to help build up the loyalty and foundations for a Galactic Alliance presence on the planet, seeking out like-minded individuals to serve as voices at pro-GA rallies and to join his growing cabinet of ministers. Secretly, police forces were used to stamp out possible groups linked to the First Order and dissident agendas, walking a fine line as public protector and a just enforcer. As long as the evidence was found, arrests were made. Otherwise, other groups were left alone, in fear of making the wrong move.
He began appealing to the Shipwright's Guild as well, using family ties, money and influence to help create the Fondorian Party for Democratic Restoration, a collaborationist group that sought the consolidation of a Galactic Alliance presence upon Fondor. It took quite some time and much exertion to gain a solid and strong foothold that was able to turn the Guild in favor of Graemon's policies and agenda. With the people secured, the Shipwrights loyal and the military under his control, his final move was made.
In a brilliant move, done before the governing council of the planet, the Senator Gorgano declared Fondor's allegiance to the Galactic Alliance with a resulting vote that gave a 79% approval vote against a 19% disapproval and 2% abstained. There was still much work to do for the Galactic Alliance, but it was a step in the right direction.

In a far off corner of a forgotten street of Oridin City sits a squat 2 story structure who's formerly grey exterior is now vibrant with the color of local street "artists" and more than a few blaster scorches. This is not a good part of town, most of the surrounding area is constantly in a state of violence and crime. Street gangs fight for dominance and drug lords rule for as long as they can before being shot by their rivals. Oddly though the area directly outside this building is relatively quiet, a bubble of calm in a storm of chaos and crime. While not marked in any way most locals know this to be a very unique bar, one who's proprietor has somehow made his place a sort of neutral zone for local crime, a refuge where no one is touched, at least not while you are within it's four walls. If you manage to learn about the place and go through the nondescript front door you'll be in for a pleasant surprise. Inside is giant hot tub full full of water that seems to change color every few moments thanks to a fantastic set of lights built into it. Out of place from the rest of this part of the galaxy it's gleaming steel surfaces are broken only by a collection of odd artifacts and artwork hanging from the walls. A pair of what look like lightsaber hilts hang on either side of what looks like a solid block of metal on part of one wall while a holo of an ewok wearing a jedi robe of all things hangs from another place. Blasters, weapons , and various other pieces of machinery and starship parts litter the walls everywhere else matching the bar in the middle of the hot tub, built out of various cast off bits of ships and speeders.
In the middle of the small dry island that makes up the bar stands a single man. While not an extremely old man his once brown hair is now mostly grey and laughter lines are starting to crease his face. His long braided hair swings all around as he juggles bottles while he makes just about any drink a patron can name, keeping drinks in the air for abnormally long times, much to the delight of those who brave the rough streets to visit his unique establishment. His ice blue eyes seem to bore into anyone who walks in the door at first, but they quickly switch to joyous blue orbs once he gets to know you and you understand that no nonsense will be tolerated. The sounds of laughter and bottles moving around permeate the place, as if here in this one place the troubles of the outside world hold no sway. Everything is about to change. I say to myself suddenly as a feeling of change washes over me after depositing a drink into the hand of beautiful young woman swimming contentedly (and probably a bit drunkenly) in the hot tub bar I'd called my own for the last couple years. Reaching into my pocket I pull out a well worn flask and take a long swig, waiting for my time apart from the galaxy to end, and to once again become more than just a content bartender, and take up once again the mantle of Jedi. *Colors swirled around her as she entered the non-descript little building from the street. Of the things she was prepared to find, a night club of this caliber was not expected. She dabbed a toe in the waters before her and felt a warm rush as a flush of blue ran from her bare foot to her pale cheeks. Shrouded as she was in the red coat and hood, only those staring into the cowl would have seen the blue tinge rise in her cheeks.
She leaned back against the door a moment, lingering on the edge of indecision. Glancing to the occupants of the hot tub, she noted the casual state of wet clothing and nonchalance on the scattering of inebriated faces. The frolickers were of a young sort, she noted. Mostly human, or human enough to pass the sight test.
Sighing, she went forward into the water. She had aims for the bar. That would be where the action was. That would be where an old soul might find solitude. That might be where an old friend might sit.
She allowed herself to sink beneath the water, gills flaring at the tingle of bubbles. The waters lit red nearly hid her from the view of a newly acquainted couple discovering a novel lingual positions. She jetted across the pool in a single kick, gliding to an elegant stop to rise like a bloody menace on the fringe of the island. She stared at the back of her quarry's head.*"Son of a kath hound," *she muttered under her breath.* "How are you still alive?"

Wait a second, that can't be what I think it is. Turning around with my usual mischievous half-smile I find myself suddenly in midst of memory. Negotiations on Carida, long days with a mandalorian in the red light district, and an unfortunate incident with a bacta tank that made me leave the healing arts far behind me. Truth be told there were more memories than good than bad and I can't help but laugh slightly at the sudden appearance of a very old friend. What where the chances of this? It's easy to stay alive when you retire to a life of encouraging the youth of the galaxy to realize the joy of alcohol. I laugh slightly, things are a bit more complicated than that but there was no point in boring her with adventures and near misses that had happened after we had parted ways so many years ago. Holy hell I'm getting old. You're probably one of the last people I'd ever expect to come through those doors. I gesture slightly toward the entrance with the flask I had just pulled out of my pocket before taking a swig and then offering it forward. But I can't say it's not good to see you. I really was enjoying retirement, but it never hurt to see a friendly face, especially one he had not been sure he'd ever see again. So what brings you to this low part of the galaxy?

A hovercar pulls up to a local bar, parking like any other customer that visited this place. Inside the hooded hovercar were two individuals, an unnamed driver and Graemon Gorgano, Senator of Fondor. As the driver reaches for his blaster pistol, Graemon stops him, shaking his head quietly. The driver nods and puts the pistol out of sight. The Senator was now looking at the bar they had pulled up to.
So this is where Old Man Frantz lives huh?
According to our intel, yes. He wasn't exactly hiding, Sir.
I can agree with that. Stay here and keep an eye out.
All necessary, and probably overreacting, measures were taken for this. Graemon wasn't aware of much involving Mike Frantz since the Jedi was Governor of Fondor and his father, the late Baron Gorgano, was alive. The Fondorian wasn't sure if Mike made enemies, but doubtful that was the case. The only enemies Jedi made were the Sith and, for all he knew, the Sith were in hiding at this moment.
He gets out of the hovercar and proceeds into the bar, noticing its activity. The former Governor sure knew how to run a pub, probably one of the rare politicians that didn't embezzle from his planet in order to live out his retirement in some grand mansion. Otherwise, Mike Frantz wouldn't be working here nor owning this place. If the man was anywhere in this pub, it had to be the epicenter of this establishment, the bar itself.
The Fondorian proceeded over, dressed in civilian clothing, did not expect what he saw the moment the male walked in. A giant hottub was what the bar consisted of. Graemon was thankful he didn't wear his usual military uniform to this bar. The Baron Gorgano sighs subtly before stepping into the water and heading for the bar area. Once there, he waves his hand, attempting to wave down the bartender, recalling Mike's image from his file and noticing it was him. Once he proceeded over, Graemon slips some credits on the table. He recalled immediately what his father usually drank.
Fondorian Fizzle, on the rocks. Use the blue liquid instead of the green.

Fondorian Fizzle, on the rocks. Use the blue liquid instead of the green. Well there is a sight you don't see every day. A one-eyed clearly militaristic fellow, I mean he wasn't wearing a uniform or anything, but there's always something about the walk of someone like that, walking into a hot tub fully clothed. Well it wasn't a first for the bar, but it definitely didn't happen every day. Fetching another drink or the very tipsy young lady and her companion on the other side of the bar I keep a casual eye on the man as he makes his way toward the bar. I reach out lightly with the force, getting a sense of determination, but not danger from the man. there wasn't likely to be any trouble, but it didn't hurt to keep an eye out, people don't usually earn an eye patch for being fluffy and kind. When he arrives and starts waving for a drink I make my way over and hear his order. It takes a moment to register but there was only one man I'd ever heard order that particular drink in that particular way, and this man definitely wasn't him, although now that I pause to examine the man more closely he does seem to resemble.... oh that's what's happening here. Turning around I mindlessly begin flipping the glass, ice, and a couple bottles around the air in a rather impressive display of coordination, eventually culminating in the grand finale of the bottles landing in their places on the shelves behind me at the same moment I set the drink in front of the man and give him my usual half-smile. So which one are you, Graemon or Valerian?

You know damn well that Valerian would not be caught dead here.
Graemon picks up the drink, remembering the first time he tried one with his father. It had been some years since those days, right before he left Fondor to join the Republic Navy. One rarely ever had a drink while having rank and file on their uniform after all. Only for celebratory events and the occasional sip to relax the nerves.
And all of Fondor knows how Graemon became the one-eyed son of the late Baron Gorgano.
Graemon shakes his head slightly, feeling the side effect of the fizzle. It had been awhile.
Although, I don't recall father mentioning you owning a bar. Was this your retirement plan?
He grabs the glass to take another good swing of the drink.
Although, not here for a social call or reminiscing... anyway we can talk in private?

Yeah the one eye gave it away, but it's much less fun to just outright tell people you know who they are. I take a long swig from my flask as he starts out the conversation. I don't know if I'd call it a plan but it's definitely what my current retirement is. I smile slightly, happy with my retirement. Although the expression drops when the younger man gets serious and makes it plain that this is a business trip. As much as I didn't want to become involved in whatever it is that I'm sure he's trying to get me involved with I figure it's at least polite to hear him out. Tapping on an strange multi-armed serving droid I lift up the trap door behind the bar and start making my way down a short set of steps, gesturing for Gorgano to hop the bar and follow me. without looking to see if he complies I make my way down to the kitchen.
It isn't overly big but surprisingly clean, with it's gleaming metal surfaces only occasionally marred by grease, it's definitely a functional commercial kitchen, but it definitely doesn't see as much use as the bar above. For some reason most people have a weird notion about not swimming for a half hour after eating, must be one of those new aged special diet things. Pulling up a chair at a small wooden table I grab a glass and pour a little Whiskey from my flask into it and set it in front of the other chair in front of me, pushing it out slightly with my foot for the other man as I do so. So what's up kid? I ask casually, taking another sip from my flask as I finish the sentence, eyeing the one eyed man with my Ice blue pair, reassessing him as he speaks. I didn't really know much about him, I knew the father, but I had never really known the son.

Graemon glances around for a moment before turning his attention back to Mike.
The Galactic Alliance is faltering, Mike... and Fondor is too close to the First Order for comfort.
The Fondorian exhales deeply before rubbing his face slightly. His intelligence work had revealed just how unprepared the Galactic Alliance was if the First Order went on the offensive again. Forces were ill-equipped, half-strength or poorly trained and lead. The fleets were being repaired, which was a positive. Yet the Jedi Order was no longer taking an active role and the politics of the Senate were stagnant. Even the Triumvirs seemed unwilling to take risks, which Graemon felt were necessary.
You once ruled this planet as an independent governor, though aligned with the former Republic. And I feel Fondor will not last if the Galactic Alliance were to fall apart. I need your help, Mike. Your help to make the Tapani Sector strong again.
This was not a plea, but it was a request. Mike had a long history with Fondor, the Free Worlds Territory, and the Tapani Sector in general. Although much of the Noble Houses did tend to ignore the Jedi Governor, from what Graemon recalled. Mike had experience more so than Graemon who was a Free Worlds noble and one of the many notable veterans of the Sector for their military services.
I know you will hate me calling you out of retirement, but I feel you will be needed for the future of this sector we call home. For a future where we can sustain ourselves and make the Tapani Sector united again.
If there was one thing about Graemon, it was his nationalist pride towards this section of the galaxy. It could easily be a double-edged sword, but Graemon was not stupid. Thankfully.

*Well that was a bit unexpected. Not so much that the Galactic Alliance was falling apart, that was one of the worst kept secrets in the galaxy so far. In fact it seemed like the peace with the FO had actually hurt it, taking it's attention from war unity to bureaucratic boredom. No, the surprise was that Gorgano was coming to me for aide. Not only was I VERY retired, I also had never been in control of the sector as a whole, in fact the only reason I had been tolerated as governor of Fondor by the Tapani Noble Houses was that I left the rest of the sector alone and didn't try to extend my influence into their own sections of the sector. It was possible that I had some things to offer though. Maybe not as directly as he might like, but it's possible that I at least know who could help him. I take a long swig from my flask again before answering, taking a long moment to close my eyes and enjoy the drink, just centering myself for conversation that might contribute to the reshaping of the galaxy as a whole. When I finally did speak it was in a calm and slightly quiet voice.* I'm not sure how much help I can give you kid. I've been out of politics for a long time, and even out of general galactic events for nearly a decade. However I might be able to help in a few small ways. *I pause for another quick drink* If you want to unite Tapani you'll have to get the Noble houses to unite, and that is no easy task. (Read: Damn near impossible)But I might still have a few contacts within the houses that might be able to help. The biggest problem is getting them to agree on a single leader. Each house will give you a long list of reasons they should be in charge. The problem is someone has to be and there is no one that will be universally supported.

Only one house has the right pedigree to truly unite the Tapani Sector, Mike.
Graemon pulls a datapad out from his pocket, handing it to the Jedi to examine. The details on it were on a series of files involving high-ranking and notable members of the House Melantha, the descendants of Shey Tapani, the founder of the old Tapani Empire. Among these files were the standing High Lord, Orus Jaset, and a number of cousins. Among those names was the commander of the Melantha House Guard, Hal Jaset, and the politicians, Ethan and Aarm Jaset-Kilvaari.
Aside from House Mecetti, the Melantha have enough ships to unite the Tapani Sector by force if they so wished. They hold a large amount of the Tapani Sector's space north of the old capital, Procopia. And their alliance with Barnaba would give them all territories to the east of Procopia... a full one-third of the Tapani Sector.
Graemon picks up his own drink and finishes the fizzle, letting Mike contemplate on his suggestion.
If anyone can unite the sector, in the wake of the Galactic Alliance's inevitable fall, it will be the Melantha.

*I take the datapad and scroll through the information. It seemed like young Gorgano had done his homework before coming here. That was a very good sign. In fact if he put as much thought into the whole scheme as he did into this once brief on a single house there might even be a chance to pull it off. However theories don't always play out as well as you'd like. Still this was definitely something to consider. Taking another moment to collect my thoughts I take another swig from my flask before speaking.* I see you have done some homework. Although you yourself pointed out the biggest flaw in that plan. What of Mecetti? They will certainly oppose a Melantha throne. In addition, I don't know if something like this could wait until the collapse of the Galactic Alliance, if something else is not already in place by that point it would give the First Order a prime chance to come in and take over before the houses have any chance to even think of resisting. *I definitely agree that this needs done, if Fondor, and the Tapani Sector as a whole, were going to survive the near future. It would require some careful planning though, and even then it might fall apart if all the pieces didn't fall into line. A gamble for sure, but one that needed to be taken.*

A gamble for sure, but one that needed to be taken.* We can wait, but at the same time, still get the gears working towards a reunited Tapani Sector. After all, though the Galactic Alliance is not strong, it may still have the firepower to force us into sticking around. A war between the Galactic Alliance and our sector will only benefit the First Order... so we must work under both their radars for now.Graemon could easily doubt the military capabilities of the Galactic Alliance given the information he was aware of. However, Naboo proved they were still tenacious and had friends in unlikely locations. Fondor was but one shipyard in this region. The Alliance's diplomatic ties could easily bring in enough ships and troops to force the Tapani Sector to obey if they moved away too obviously.Given my position in the Galactic Alliance government, and her Intelligence department, I can easily keep this whole situation under wraps. If it becomes public though, I can easily twist the news to be internal troubles that are being handled effectively.Connections meant everything and certainly, Graemon can use said connections to keep the Galactic Alliance in the dark about the activity within this section of space. It would be a careful move, but it could be done.Once we get House Melantha on board with this, I will redeploy my fleet the Lamuir system, just north of Fondor, at the vital junction of the Shapani Bypass and two jumps south from Procopia. Mecetti will react swiftly, knowing their history, once the coalition forms to reinstate House Melantha to the throne and title of Emperor.

*It seemed like the young Gorgano had his mind set on secession from the Galactic Alliance and the means to make it happen with minimal strife. Honestly I couldn't disagree with his thoughts, if even half of what I've heard about the GA was true it might be the only way to keep Fondor and the Tapani sector as a whole safe in the current galactic situation. Of course there is the fact that I'm retired from galactic events, but there was at least some help I could give the younger man. Pulling a notepad and pen from a nearby counter I write down a few names and some contact information before sliding it across the table to him.* The two men there might be able to help you. The first is Tar Nova, an old friend of mine who ran the Fondor Defense Force when I was governor, he still maintains a small private force that may be of some use to you. *He takes another drink from his flask before pointing at the second name.* The second name there is Torrick Paddox. He was my first apprentice and and now a fully trained Jedi, in addition he might be able to help you convince Pelagia to join your cause. *I didn't need to tell him that he was also the broter of the current High Lord of Pelagia, that was something I was sure he already knew. If you tell them that I sent you they will hear you out, after that it's up to you to convince them.

Graemon took into consideration what was mentioned by Mike Frantz over the two individuals. Addition forces would be necessary to take on House Mecetti. It was known that their House Defense Force had twelve capital ships, most of which were Imperial Era Victory II-class Star Destroyers, a powerful warship to face. They would need all the forces they could gather to truly stand a chance and prevent Mecetti from blocking this bid for power.
House Pelagia... they are allied with House Cadriaan. House Melantha is allied with House Barnaba. House Mecetti doesn't have that many allies outside of its province. They are viewed with suspicion, given their power, ambitions, and previous history.
Graemon nods in agreement with Mike's advice.
I will contact your apprentice first. It will take time for him to speak with House Pelagia compared to Tar Nova assembling his fleet. Once we have Pelagia in agreement, we will approach House Melantha and prepare for war. We will even let the news slip, but keep Pelagia's commitment to the cause a secret.

*I nod as the younger man lays out his plan. It's about as solid as one could hope for in a situation like this. I take another sip from my flask before standing up and offering out my hand to the other man.* I wish you the best of luck, if there is anything else I can do for you, short of taking the field myself, feel free to get in touch. *I smile faintly, not expecting to have much more involvement in the rest of this conflict, but who knows where the winds might blow*

With the, at best passive, support of Mike Frantz, Graemon was a lot more confident with his scheme at hand. Though he had done his best in making Fondor, and the Tapani Sector at large, model citizens for the Galactic Alliance, he could never effectively suppress the desire for independent rule within this sector. It had a long tradition of being on its own and being self-sufficient. It was best not to ride against the tide, but try to a find a means to exploit its potential and develop it into something far greater. It would take time and effort, but it could still be achieved in the end.
After a few days, Graemon goes out seeking Torrick Paddox. His military intelligence mentioned that the Pelagian brother of the standing High Lord was visiting Fondor and was last seen in the in the Old Noble's District, an area that was once infested, if one could say, with the exiles of nobility from more ancient times. With this intel confirmed, and a team sent to keep an eye out, Graemon made his own move and visited the area.
Upon arrival, he looks up at the buildings of this district, remembering the fact that he had been raised in this area. Seemed like ages ago when the male reflected for a moment. His thoughts interrupted by the spying detail confirming the Jedi's location in the district. He made his way in that direction, aiming to cut the Jedi's path off. Graemon knew this could get hairy if those Jedi senses felt he was in danger, which was why, in the first odd instance, he did not come with a blaster.
He made his way to the area where Paddox was seen heading for. Graemon then scanned the area, looking for the Jedi.

*Torrick Paddox was a somewhat intimidating man when one didn't know him. Standing a bit higher than 6 feet tall he towered over many of the being he interacted with. His well combed grey hair and his neatly trimmed short, pointed, beard gave him a definite air of distinguished to him. At first glance he appeared as arrogant as anyone might expect of his noble linage, his head held high and his walk confident. His dark blue eyes almost matching the blue jedi robes he wore as he moved swiftly through the district, making his way back toward the building in which he was staying for his brief visit to Fondor.
He had felt the eyes on him for the past few days, although that was far from common anytime he was in the Tapani sector. It seemed like all the houses had a reason to watch him, despite, or maybe because, his status as a Jedi. He was a bit surprised to see Graemon Gorgano in a nearby intersection clearly looking for him. He wasn't surprised to see the man, he had been contacted by his master and told he would be dropping by, instead he was surprised to realize that the man had been following him, deciding to ambush him in conversation on the street rather than make arrangements to meet. It was a good tactic politically, but it annoyed the Jedi slightly. Resigning himself to the meeting in any case he makes his way over to the man* Did this really require you having your goons follow me? *He raises one eyebrow quizzically, clearly not very pleased.*

You can never be too sure about who may be watching, Master Jedi.
Graemon responds curtly before motioning for the Jedi to join him at what appeared to be one of those places that sold some good quality caf. Two cups were ordered for the two of them to drink. Graemon offers a cup to Torrick before taking a sip and glancing around where they were. He never expected a Jedi to be in this district, but this was the brother of the High Lord of House Pelagia.
I need your help, Torrick. Your former mentor, Mike Frantz, recommended your services to me.
Graemon looks up from his cup before speaking further.
I plan to revive the Tapani Empire. The Galactic Alliance is too weak to defend us from the growing threat that lies with the northern stars and systems. The leadership has fallen silent and their government has become defunct... it won't be long before the First Order notices and smashes it into nothingness.
Graemon pauses to sip from his cup.
In order to place House Melantha on the throne, I will need support... and House Pelagia is certainly a good family to look upon. For, in the future, I envision a guard of force sensitive knights that serve the Emperor as his shields, and his swords. And I believe that could be a good deal for Pelagia to join in this cause.

*Torrick grunted non-noncommittally as he let the other man lead him to Caf house and sipped his drink as he listened to the man's proposal. His expression remained neutral as he reached out with the force to get a sense of the man as he spoke. He seemed to honestly believe in his cause at least. Still this would be a risky gamble at best. He wasn't pleased by putting Melantha on the throne, but they had been allies for a long time and they did have a far better chance of gaining and holding the seat than his own, still rebuilding, house. It's a few long seconds caf drinking before he responds in a cool, measured tone.*
You have a valid point in your lack of faith in the Galactic alliance, however what makes you think a Melantha government can succeed? Assuming our support there are still 5 other houses that would have to be convinced by wit or force. What do you have up your sleeve that can convince me this isn't some fool's errand?
*The older man wanted to believe this could work, but he was unwilling to give his personal support to an idea he wasn't sure could win,m much less advocate for his house's involvement.*

Defeating House Mecetti in combat.
Those were the simple words spoken back to Torrick in response to his question.
We all know that if Melantha moves, so will the Mecetti. And also Melantha's ally, House Barnaba. There are very few who like the Mecetti and would be hesitant to raise their fleets to aid them... after all, Mecetti is known for their treachery and aggression. Melantha is only doing what is right and for the sector's future.
If Mecetti could be defeated in combat by such a coalition, then no one would dare speak against nor ally against the House Melantha. But it would require the assistance of Pelagia, the unknown ally, who would appear during battle and help ensure the battle ended favorably for the would-be Imperial house.
