A grunt of discomfort was Sarazen's initial response as Zotu pried the dead brute's claws free of his now very tender body. He blinked a few times to dispel the head fog and confusion that had set in, then ran his palms over his chest and head, appearing to self examine his body for any major wounds. Despite feeling like he'd been sat on by a rakamat, he otherwise appeared fine. "It would seem so." He replied, somewhat surprised by that outcome, if not a little disappointed. For the psychologically scarred village chief, death often seemed the only relief from past traumas. Unfortunately the ritual suicide of the warrior caste was frowned upon by his Domain, and while he certainly couldn't give a damn about anyone else's rules these days, some habits and traditions were hard to break. If he was going to meet his end, at this rate it would either be from old age or if he was lucky, he'd run into something on this planet capable of ending his skein. In that moment it occurred to him that Zotu had spoken to him in Yuuzhan Vong, rather than Galactic Basic. The amusement that caused was enough to dispel the morbid thoughts currently occupying his attention. He grasped the rakatan's proffered hand and climbed to his feet, seeming unsteady at first and definitely feeling a sharp pain in his chest.
Definitely a broken rib, maybe two. Nothing the village shapers couldn't handle. Rather than ignore the pain, he leaned into it, used it to stimulate his senses as he obscured the smoking carcass of the rancor bull. It was a bit of a mess.
"Hmmm." Muttered the former Executor, scratching his sunburnt scalp with a long spindly finger as his lips puckered and he sucked his teeth. "We probably should had killed it closer to the village." Behind him he could hear the other Yuuzhan Vong hunters emerge from the brush around them, circling the downed bull, too late to help much but just in time to perform some much needed manual labour. Sarazen turned and addressed them. "We made the kill." He announced, retrieving his coufee blade before using it to motion between himself and Zotu. "Which means the rest of you lot get the honour of hauling this feast back to the village. No please, don't rush to thank us." Little chance of that. Instead he was greeted by a chorus of reluctant grumbles as the other villagers got to work.
"You surprise me." Admitted Sarazen as he came to stand beside the rakatan, taking a moment to slide his curved bone dagger back into the coral scabbard on his hip. "You are far more agile than I originally gave you credence for. Is that a common trait of your species or are you an exceptional example of your race?" He began to wonder what a war between the Infinite and Yuuzhan Vong Empires would look like when both powers were at their conquering epoch.
