*Ka'ra's takeaway from Ellie's reaction was that, at the very least, she wasn't one of Ka'ra's enemies. Still, she couldn't help but smirk a little.* "I believe I just said why. You're a skilled warrior. You have connections. Assets that would aid the future of our aliit immensely." *She paused a moment, debating whether to divulge her deeper feelings, then sighed.* "And truth be told, I never wanted this. When buir... disappeared, the mantle fell to me. I took it out of a sense of responsibility, but I shouldn't have. I wasn't ready then, and I don't feel ready now."

"Right, sorry. I just...wasn't really prepared to have that question asked of me." *Ellie said with all honesty. She had never believed that such a thing would be asked of her. When Ka'ra explained why she didn't want to be Aliit'alor anymore, Ellie completely understood. She knew exactly what it was like to be put into such positions. A thousand more questions ran through her mind, but before she could ask them, she answered without really thinking.* "Okay, I'll do it. I'll take up the mantel of Aliit'alor."

*A small smile tugged at the corner of Ka'ra's lips, understanding Ellie's surprise. Ka'ra had brought this up rather suddenly and without warning, after all. At her acceptance, however, Ka'ra wasted no time in standing and pronouncing,* "Ni kyr'tayl gai Aliit'alor Ordo." *She placed her fist over her heart and smiled genuinely, a large weight lifted off her very soul.* "It is done."

*It was done, just like that. With only a few short words for Ka'ra, Ellie was now Aliit'alor of clan Ordo. Ellie let out a slow breath she didn't know that she was even holding. She could almost feel the weight of responsibility lift of Ka'ra's shoulders and get dumbed on her own.* "Well, okay then. I guess it's time to really step up then." *A small grin tugged at her lips.* "I bet you're glad to finally get a vacation."

*The transfer of responsibility was a mere sentence, and yet Ka'ra could see the slightest signs of the weight being placed on Ellie. And yet, she grinned, seemingly eager to step up and surmising that Ka'ra was happy to get a break. A thin smile crossed the girl's lips.* "Vacation? Nayc, there's still much I need to do. However, if there're any questions you have for me, don't hesitate to ask vod— aliit'alor." *That almost felt odd to say. The last time she'd called anyone that it was her own father... before either of them knew he was her father. Then it became buir.
She grimaced, then, pushing away the thought, added,* "You'll want to address the aliit, regarding the change in position. I'm sure they'll be far more receptive of you than they were me."

*Still work to be done. That was something Ellie was all to familiar with. The grin slid quickly from her face when Ka'ra mentioned adressing the aliit. She wasn't prepared to give a speech, honestly she wasnt prepared for any of this.* "Speeches, that's..that's something I'm not really prepared for. Although it's something that I'm going to have to get used to. So, yeah, I should tell them."

*Ka'ra smiled, one that was half-forced yet half-genuine, as she reached across to clasp Ellie on the shoulder.* "You're far more prepared than I was, that's for sure." *She patted the shoulder before releasing it and turning to leave, but still looking over her shoulder.* "You'll do fine. Again, if you need me, I'll be around. Oya, aliit'alor!" *With one final nod, she left the office. Part of her wanted to announce the change herself, but sense prevailed: Ellie would have to prove herself. She could no longer help.*

*Ellie gave Ka'ra a hesitant smile as the girl reassured her. She gave a final nod to the girl as she left the room. Closing her eyes, she let out a slow breath and gathered her thoughts. Public speaking wasn't something she was good at.* "We gotta do this Ellie. Get it together." *She stood up and circled around the desk to where the were located. Her finger hovered over the button for a general broadcast.*
*Her heart raced some as the indicator light turned green informing her that she was broadcasting. Gathering her nerves, she spoke in mando'a to all who could hear her message.* "Brothers and sisters of clan Ordo. My name is Ellie Ordo. I'm speaking to you now in order to bring the news of the recent leadership change that has happened within the past hour. Ka'ra Ordo has stepped down from her current position as Aliit'alor and has named me, Ellie Ordo, as her successor." *She paused for a quick breath, and to let the information sink in.* "For some of you, myself included, this may come as a shock. Others may wonder what happens now. We move forward, that's what we do. We're Mando'ade, we withstand whatever changes may come our way, be it hardships or leadership changes." *Ellie spoke a little clearer as her confidence grew some.* "I'm not here to promise some great scheme to push us forward to a great victory. Others before me have done that, and we have taken a beating because of it. I'm going to help clan Ordo get back onto it's feet again. Give us a stable foundation to stand on. Then we can move forward as we have always done." *She paused for a brief second before ending her speech.* "Oya, clan Ordo."
*She deactivated the com unit before dropping into the seat behind her. This day was off to an interesting start, that was for sure.*

*Ka'ra had been making her way to her quarters, messaging Gotabor about the recent decision. Barely after she sent the message, the comms crackled to life, and with them came Ellie's voice; the voice of the aliit'alor. She spoke of the change of leadership, and immediately Ka'ra could hear the voices of those rejoicing at the change, and those who would only further question Ka'ra's decision-making, regardless of whether or not she was leader.
But Ellie kept speaking, advocating for unity and moving forward rather than chasing glory. A goal Ka'ra had dedicated herself to—or attempted to. She smiled to herself as the short speech concluded, then turned and continued her journey. But not before Gotabor could respond to her message with a cheeky "I know."*

*Bossan lead the duo to the office. He came to a stop just outside the door and knocked.* "Enter." *Came the muffled reply from inside the room. The door slid open and Bossan let Torin and Molan enter first.*
*Aside from the desk and chairs sitting in the center of the room. The office itself was sparse, since Ellie wasn't one for decorating. It did, however, have a few personal items sitting about. Several lightsabers and other trophies hung from the wall. A hologram of the city sat on a table in the corner. Several others items she had gathered throughout her journies were on display around the office. Ellie herself stood behind the desk, wearing the same outfit she was wearing last time she saw Torin. She inclined her head in a small bow as the two entered the room.* "Torin Bralor. Now what do I owe this unexpected visit?" *She left out the word pleasent, just incase his visit brought bad news.*

Thanking Bossan before entering the office he has led them to, Torin enters and, having removed his buy'ce and tucked it beneath an arm, returns Ellie's greeting warmly with a bow of his head, having been impressed with how the young dala had conducted herself when they had first met recently, when their latest Mand'alor had been chosen. "Su cuy'gar, Ellie. His eyes flit briefly around the office, taking in the conservative yet intriguing decorations on view with a hint of approval in his gaze though he makes no comment, before Torin introduces his companion, My Alor'ad, Molan. Molan inclines his head in a respectful bow, otherwise remaining silent as Torin answers Ellie's question, Our Mand'alor has asked that I review the present status of the overall naval capabilities of the Mando'ade. I've been asked, he explains briefly and without any sense of self-congratulation in his tone, to assume the war time role of Admiral."
Lifting a hand, palm up, as though to indicate that he has offered the reasoning for his visit in its entirety, Torin moves on with the task he has been appointed without belaboring the subject, estimating that Ellie, like he is himself, is not one to engage in idle conversation for the mere sake of doing so, asking plainly, "What does Ordo's orbital defense fleet consist of currently? Do you feel it is adequate for your needs, or are there elements - ships, crew, weaponry, training and so on - that you feel are missing or in need of upgrading?"

*Ellie resisted raising an eyebrow when Torin explained why he was here. She knew it wasn't uncommon for such inspections, she just didn't expect it to be now, or with so little warning. Times of war left little in the ways of wanrings, though. That was a fact she was very aware of.*
*The list of planetary defenses, while not small, wasn't up to par with most other clans. This was a fact that Ellie hated to admit as the Aliit'alor of her clan. Defending her people was something she placed near the top of her list.* "Fleet wise, we have ten Crusader class corvettes, six keldabe-class battleships, each with an attachment of fighters. Orbital defenses consist of twenty defense platforms. Ranging from long range missile batteries, to anti fighter cannons. We do have an ion cannon on the outskirts of the city." *Ellie almost hesitated for a second on the last one.* "We also have an Imperial class-II star destroyer. Unfortunately its been sitting in a dry dock before I even took office. I'm not exactly sure what's wrong with it, or why no one has moved it." *She pushed the thought of the star destroyer away and moved on.* "As far as adequacy goes, we're prepared for small skirmishes and untrained assailants. A full scale invasion however, would only be slowed down for a time. We have crews and weaponry, just not enough ships. The ships themselves need upgrades, a lot of their systems are almost ten years old now."
*Ellie took a slow breath and looked between the two of them.* "And no, I haven't been neglecting clan Ordo's forces. I've been busy enough trying to build an infrastructure that can sustain our fleet. Even as we speak, a corvette and battleship are supporting an expedition fleet. We're trying to find a suitable location to start a mining facility in a nearby asteroid belt." *Truth be told, she hadn't heard back from them in a while and that had her worried. But that was information she didn't feel like deepening to her guests right now.*

Torin chuckles and exchanges a glance with Molan, who has an arched eyebrow accompanying an expression indicating that he is more impressed by the fleet Ellie has described than she herself appears to be, after Ellie has finished speaking. "I wouldn't say you've neglected your clan's forces at all, Ellie, Torin tells her, adding, In fact, I think you are vastly underestimating the capabilities of your fleet when you say it would only be able to slow an invasion. Lifting a hand to indicate he has no desire to debate that particular point at the moment, Torin says, Be that as it may, the Mand'alor's initial goal, in fact, is to see that all Mando'ade core worlds have the means at their disposal to hold off any hostile forces that might attack long enough for reinforcements to arrive. "
Moving closer to the hologram of the city, Torin studies it for a moment in silence while considering what he can realistically provide at the present moment in time before turning to Ellie and saying, "For now, I can send engineering teams to look into upgrading your fleet's systems, and perhaps even see about getting that Star Destroyer operational as well. Clan Bralor's arrangement with the First Order includes regular shipments of technological and other resources that will make upgrading the systems of Clan Ordo's fleet less challenging that it might otherwise be, and Torin firmly believes that the Mand'alor will soon have MandalMotors operating efficiently enough that such projects will be even easier in the near future. It may be possible, Torin continues, to provide Clan Ordo with additional ships once MandalMotors is operating at peak efficiency. Out of curiosity, Torin asks while shifting his buy'ce from beneath his left arm to his right, how many more ships, and of what makes, would you ultimately like to add to Clan Ordo's fleet?"

*Ellie gave a small laugh at Torin's comment. His words were true enough when it came to the fleets capabilities.* "Sorry, I tend to downplay the size of the fleet from time to time. Sort of a follower of the old saying, 'act weak when you are strong.' Catches a lot of my adversaries off guard."
*She moved over to the window and watched distant ships ascend and descend drom the spaceport. Her mind going over the information Torin had presented her with. Getting the star destroyer was second on her list of defenses to get up to one hundred percent. First were the upgrades which was part of the offer.* "Upgrades are priority, and the training that goes with it."*She turned to face the Aliit'alor of clan Bralor.* "The number of ships, I can't say. I have been gathering up freighters, however, and expanding some of our trade routes. The past few crusades and other exploits have drained us pretty good."

"Smart, Torin says with a smile suggesting some degree of approval of Ellie's philosophy where misrepresenting her true strength is concerned. Waving a hand when Ellie explains that she is not certain how many more ships she would ultimately like to add to her fleet, Torin says, It is not a decision that needs to be made today. We can revisit the subject another time."
Clasping his hands behind his back in a manner suggesting that he believes that their discussion has accomplished its purpose, Torin says, "I'll begin making preparations to have engineering teams and any equipment or materials they will need to look after those upgrades, and see that your crews are trained in the use of whatever upgrades are made, immediately. Expect them to arrive within, say, a week? Or do you need longer to arrange for your fleet to prepare to adjust its deployment to accommodate the rotation of ships to docking facilities so that the upgrades can be made?"

*Ellie suppressed a small grin when Torin called her philosophy smart. She couldn't take the credit for it, since it was nothing more than a lesson she had learned and tucked away for later.* "When I have a rough idea of how many. I'll send a message with the details."
"I'll rotate the crews and ships when your engineers arrive. That way we won't be without defense's. A week will be fine, all crews will have been informed of their assigned rotations by then." *Ellie paused for a moment before turning to Torin and Molan. The meeting was winding down with its its initial purpose met.* "I'm assuming your flight was a long one? You both are more than welcome to stay as long as you wish."

Nodding with a grunt when Ellie says that she will send word to him once she has a better idea of the fleet composition she ultimately wants to work towards, and then nods with another grunt when she says that his suggestion about the time frame in which the engineering teams will be sent is satisfactory and workable for her. "I'll comm or holomessage you closer to when the teams will depart to confirm nothing has changed on either of our ends," Torin says to conclude the matter at hand.
Exchanging a look with Molan when Ellie suggests that they are welcome to stay rather than depart immediately, Torin turns back to Ellie after Molan has shrugged a shoulder noncommittally. One goal of the Mand'alor is to strengthen the ties between the various clans, something that will take time, Torin knows, but also something that will not happen unless they all make the effort to learn more of one another and invest the time required to allow bonds of camaraderie or more to grow; and so though he could rush from one world to the next to swiftly complete the task the Mand'alor has set before him, Torin instead smiles and says, "We appreciate the offer. It would be nice to breathe real air and not be confined to a ship for at least a little while."
Able to guess what Torin's intentions are after having worked and fought at his side long enough that he can, like now, often almost intuit what is needed of him without Torin needing to ask, Molan says, "Be nice to eat something other than gihaal and haarshun bread for a change too. Maybe you could suggest someplace for us to grab something different, perhaps even join us for an evening meal?"

*Ellie gave a genuine smile when Torin admitted that he'd like some fresh air compared to that of his ship. She knew that feeling all to well. Standing up straight, Ellie motioned towards the door.* "We have a cantina here, and I'd be honored to join. I've been stuck in here for most the afternoon, so moving around would do me some good." *Leaving her office behind, she led the two to the cantina.*
