The events of today had taken Cathaoir away from his duties today, but even then, that is not what brought him here. No, he was here for a different reason. News had come to him. News he did not care for and news he refused to buy in to. There had been words spoken of a "death" to an old friend of his . . . an outstanding vode and a man than was more a brother to him than any other, even those of his own clan. No, Corr could not be dead; it just wasn't possible.
He removed his buy'ce with a hand and place it on the corner of the desk situated in the center, rear area of the room. The desk was made of some kind of industrial material and had several holoscreens situated around it. Set within the actual top of the large desk was an interactive screen for a series of computer functions including a visual comlink. His right hand came forward and pressed into the console a few commands ultimately connecting him to a fellow clansman, Conall Ordo. Conall, olaror o'r. Ni cuyir ta'na gar at Vabi'au IV. Haa'taylir meg gar liser mar'eyir dayn bal tarja cuyan.1 With his message sent to Conall who was currently on Mandalore, Cathaoir sat back and looked through some intelligence findings and files. Of particular interests was something coming up for the planet of Algara.

*It still hadn't yet settled in that this was her office. "It's the aliit'alor's office," she'd think, only to correct herself with "But I am the aliit'alor." But at fifteen? She was two years into adulthood, yes, but generally the clan leaders were usually a bit older than that, more battle-hardened, grizzled...
Ka'ra had been expertly trained. Had fought. Had a heart and soul that lived and breathed Mando as strong as could be. But to be aliit'alor at this age?
She wouldn't have been if she could have helped it. And she didn't mean deferring responsibilities; she meant if buir hadn't disappeared. It was hard to believe Cathaoir had been her buir, but it hadn't been unwelcome news. She had been growing to think of the aliit'alor as a father figure regardless, so to learn that he was her father... Long ago, she had reasoned, as was the Mando way, that it didn't matter who her family was, but she had been unable to resist joy when learning that her actual father still lived.
So of course it would be devastating when he, as well, were to suddenly vanish from her life. When her presumed birth parents died when she was young, it hadn't taken her long to come to grips with it, accepting that all of Ordo was her family. So why was she unable to feel exactly the same way with Cathaoir's loss?
They had no proof he was dead, but time had gone on long and they had to consider him as such. As his kin and an adult, Ka'ra had been named aliit'alor of the clan. She didn't reject it. It gave her focus, something to keep her mind off things, and, most of all, to carry on his legacy. Was it a rough job? Of course it was. Reports, dispute settlements, economic affairs of the planet... She saw to all of it. Her age didn't help; despite being an adult, there were still the occasional disgruntled parties that seemed none too pleased with having to submit to the authority of one so young as her. Some also felt she hadn't earned it through any other means than her blood connection to the previous aliit'alor.
Not that she would ever admit it, but she couldn't blame them.
She was grateful for the few loyal hands to her, the ones that were willing to guide her and aid her in this tough time. She was almost certain that, if it weren't for them, she would have been deposed by now simply due to the aforementioned reasons. But she would never, ever back down; that was not the Mando way. If someone wanted to take her role, she would take them straight on in a challenge for it. Never did her frustrations show in public, only in private or in the company of those she trusted; she was starting to gain respect in some circles for her sheer determination.
Now if only that would spread to the rest of the populace...*

"So that's your decision, then?" *asked the green-armored man sitting across from Ka'ra.
The young aliit'alor nodded.* "I will not dedicate ner aliit to a petty war of ideals."
*Gotabor grinned.* "You mean like the 'Crusade'?"
*Ka'ra rolled her eyes.* "To tell you the truth, I couldn't tell you whether that was more stupid than the aruetii wars. Mand'alor the Di'kutla, he ought to have been called..."
*Gotabor frowned, seemingly disapproving of her language in regards to the individual in question, but at the same time he said nothing. Ka'ra knew; despite her constant badgering to treat her as an equal, Gotabor was still set in his ways and seemed adamant not to question or chide her out of respect for her position.* "Speak, vod," *she urged him.
He hesitated, then sighed.* "Like him or not, he was Mand'alor. He earned the position. I wouldn't so swiftly resort to such disrespect."
"Forgive the idealism of youth, then," *Ka'ra scoffed, looking to the side.* "And forgive me if I think how often the helm's changed hands in the last couple decades was... frivolous. And now it's lost."
*Gotabor said no more. When Ka'ra looked at him, he was staring at his feet, like a scolded child. She smiled.* "Stop that. You're my equal, vod. I expect you to speak your mind with me. You're all I have now anyway."
*The words had passed her lips against her volition and now the mood became melancholy, despite Gotabor's soft laugh.*
"Vor'e, but I'm no Cathaoir."
"I know that. Aliit ori'shya tal'din."
*Gotabor nodded, then stood.* "We should perhaps inform Aliit Ordo then."
*Ka'ra also stood, agreeing. And thus, the decree was made: Ordo would support neither the Alliance nor the First Order in this "war" of the stars. Any individual was, of course, free to pursue mercenary work of their own volition, but Aliit Ordo would turn its focus inward, on sustaining its own people, rather than sacrificing units to so-called "galactic affairs." The decision was, as expected, met with some grumbling, particularly those who believed the reward was worth the risk; others still, however, sided with aliit'alor, agreeing that they didn't have the resources to spare to another war so soon.
So Ka'ra continued to observe and most especially lend her own efforts to the rejuvenation of her culture. In the back of her mind, she did hold worry of retaliation from either side for their choice of neutrality... but, should they be foolish enough to attempt it, they would be met by the full force of Ordo.*

Damocles came at a stop to the door of the Aliit'alor's office. He gave a knock on the door then and waited. He'd never had any reason to visit the office before. But something about this moment felt like it would be one to remember. The Mand'alor to be was about to meet the youngest ever known Aliit'alor. One might say that clan Ordo was about to make it's mark upon history once more. But Damocles would need more than his own clans support to retain the Helm. But this would be a start

*This office felt like a cage sometimes, but it was her duty... A duty she would not shirk from, lest her reputation plummet. She might have considered leaving office were it not for her familial ties to Cathaoir, and she refused to tarnish his legacy. At the very least, she wasn't trapped in this room; only during designated hours, or when her attention was required.
She sat alone, staring at the monitor before her of the latest reports from not only Ordo, but across the galaxy. The knock at the door tore her dark green eyes away and she stood promptly, marching across the room and fingering the door's release control. It slid open, revealing a single vod, whose name took Ka'ra a moment to recollect; she prided herself on keeping a mental database of her aliit, even from a young age.*
"Damocles," *she settled on at last.* "How may aliit'alor serve you?"

Damocles looked down a little as the door opened to meet Ka'ra's gaze. As she addressed him by name, he was quite impressed that she recognized him and even knew his name. She was certainly shaping up to be quite the Aliit'alor. He removed his helmet and held it beneath his arm as he gave a bow in greeting "Aliit'alor, it's a pleasure... I just wish to have a few minutes of your time, if you might be able to spare it?"

"Very well." *She allowed him inside and closed the door behind them before marching back to her desk, reclaiming her seat. Damocles could want anything; by now, Ka'ra had learned not to have any expectations when it came to guests. Admittedly, she always believed the odds were in favor of some sort of complaint, but she wasn't about to let her own worries dictate her response.* "What did you wish to speak of, vod?"

"Vor entye..." Damocles followed Ka'ra into her office and took the seat in front of her desk. He set the backpack down upon the table between them. Letting it sit there for the moment. He now had to figure out how to best approach this subject with her. Thankfully, her recent decree helped at least put them on the same footing. So that might be a good place to begin "Your recent decree is a good place to start... And I assure you, I do not oppose it. I fully support the idea. We need to look inward and take care of our own. Trying to involve ourselves too much in aruetii affairs is what lead to the crusade..." Damocles turned the bag then, pointing the flap towards Ka'ra. This would allow her to open it in her own time "But while we might correct our own course, I fear for what the other Clans might decide to do... The aruetii do not always understand our ways. And I fear the actions of any of the other Clans could be hazardous to us, if not correctly handled... Not that it is something you can control. But suppose there was someone that could?"

*While she didn't show it, Ka'ra was admittedly unsettled that Damocles had immediately jumped to the topic of the neutrality decree. Though he seemed to verbally support it, she was now unsure of the package that the man carried. Not that it was likely this was an assassination attempt; such a criminal, dishonorable act would brand the man as dar'manda and deny him his eternal glory. It was merely her own anxiety getting in the way... If she hadn't sworn to keep her drinking under control, this wouldn't be a problem.
But Damocles went on, echoing sentiments Ka'ra had privately thought, though by his words and gestures, the item in the bag seemed to be of some significance... Some great significance... She furrowed her brows and slowly reached for the bag before her hand stilled.
She knew what was in there without even opening it.* "Kad's blade, you didn't... ?"

She had figured it out without even looking. Of course, his own words had made it quite apparent that he had the Helm. But even so, some people still needed to see it for themselves before accepting the truth. He reached over and opened the bag then, showing the Mask to Ka'ra "I did, at Kad's own urging. He sent me a vision. He showed me where the Mask lay hidden, waiting to be claimed. So I went and found it... One does not simply ignore the words of Kad Ha'rangir... He showed me a future in which we are brought to the brink of extinction once more. Entangled in the aruetiise war as our limited resources are stretched further and further to the brink. Something I cannot... no, something that we cannot allow to happen..."

*She slowly withdrew her hand as Damocles opened the bag for her, confirming beyond the shadow of a doubt that it was, indeed, the buy'ce of Mand'alor. She wasn't sure why she had refused to open it herself; reverence? Unwilling to risk somehow tampering with the holy relic. But there it sat before her. It was clear it was not an offer for her, as Damocles spoke of a vision he received, which warned of the Mando'ade heading towards a cruel fate and led him on his quest to claim the helm.
Damocles seemed intent on being the one who ensured the Mando'ade focused inwardly, on their own people, rather than squandering the limited resources they currently held on the aruetiise war of ideals. He seemed intent on this goal, determined, and he spoke beautiful words that Ka'ra agreed with...
But they were only that. Words. Managing to recover her posture, much as she could given the object before her, she said,* "Not that I'd dare question Kad Ha'rangir's judgment, vod, and I agree with your words, but to be perfectly honest, I must know for myself how worthy you are of claiming the title before you can have my support. How do you intend on proving that?"

It was a hard thing for Damocles to prove himself worthy ahead of time. Warrior Mand'alore's had the benefit of being able to just shed some other great warriors blood, and the Clans would think that enough. He was an outsider working his way in, with a plan to rebuild and reform the Mandalorian people. It was a dangerous gambit to say the least. He let the flap close and leaned back into his chair as he considered Ka'ra's question "Nor would I expect you to trust Kad's judgement alone. Divine beings are fickle things. Even now, his plan for me might be changing to merely one of just a reclaimer of the buy'ce... I'm afraid that I cannot provide you any proof. Not yet any way. All that I can offer at this time, is my word and the plan that I have. I could fight and kill a man, but it would merely prove I am a warrior. And we do not need a warlord..." He needed a plan. A course of action that would help convince Ka'ra to at least consider him and back his claim when the time came. It was then, that an idea came to him. A long term goal, but everything he planned to do was a long term plan "Perhaps you might consider allowing one of our clan to follow me in my travels... Someone to watch and listen as I visit each Clan. They would report to you and help you decide whether I was worthy. In a week or so, I will call all of the Aliit'alor to Mandalore. There, each shall make their voice heard. You can decide then, if I am worthy. In the mean time, I will work to prove that I can unite the Clans and get them to assist one another... Would that be agreeable?"

*Her composure had returned, though her eyes still now-and-again traveled to the bag, still in somewhat-disbelief that the helm sat before her at all. Intended to be claimed by one of her own... But she focused her ears on his words, and she could at least appreciate his sentiment that the Mandalorians did not need a warlord; no, they most certainly did not. But he offered to have one of her own follow him, report on his actions and dealings, before announcing he would call the aliit'alore together to Mandalore to make the final decision.*
"Very well. I will have someone assigned to this task imminently. And I will be present on Manda'yaim. Go forth then. We will meet again."

Damocles gave a nod. He had at least won her confidence enough that she would see how he handled himself. Although it was not a decisive start, it was a start to his quest. If he was honest, he'd had no expectations that he would get a firm approval from Ka'ra at this early of a stage. But he would convince her by the time the meeting was called. He rose from his seat, collecting his helmet and backpack as he did so "Thank you. I look forward to seeing you on Manda'yaim..." He took his leave of the office then. Heading to the hangar bay where he was certain that Ka'ra's chosen representative would be found. After that, he would head to Concord Dawn, to meet with the Fett's

Damocles stopped at the door to Ka'ras office. Remembering well the last time he had been here. Back before he had claimed the title of Mand'alor The Architect. Back then, she had been the first he had sought out. Asking her to consider supporting his claim to the Helm. And while she had not given her immediate support. She had been the first to do so when at last he made his claim official. An action he had been grateful to her for.
But his time as Mand'alor had passed. And now, he was simply a member of Clan Ordo once more. Which was what brought him here today. Ka'ra had summoned him to meet with her. For what reason, he was not sure. But he suspected that would all become clear soon enough. He activated the door controls, allowing him to enter the office. Stopping just short of the chair in front of her desk "Su'cuy Aliit'alor. You called for me?"

"Su'cuy, Mand— vod," *Ka'ra greeted, standing from her chair as the man entered. She gestured for him to take a seat across from her before lowering herself, studying him briefly with a hardened expression for a moment.* "Forgive me for not being present on Manda'yaim, though I'm aware of what happened there. I must admit I'm shocked. However, I'll get straight to the point." *She closed her eyes, inhaled deeply, then opened them with a sigh.*
"There's still so much you can do for the vode. More than I can, at any rate. The people don't speak against me, but I still feel I do not serve them as well as I could have." *She paused a brief moment, debating her confession, before revealing,* "I never wanted this. The position fell to me when buir... disappeared. I should've turned it down but I felt compelled to carry on his legacy. But I wasn't ready then, and I still feel this isn't my position to hold."
*She let the truth linger in the air for a moment before once more sighing and stating,* "Damocles... will you become Aliit'alor Ordo?"

*Ellie stood in front of the Aliit'alor's office. A thousand thoughts ran through her mind as she wondered why she had been summoned here. Shaking the questions from her mind, she took a slow breath and went to knock on the door. Before she could, however, it opened on its own. Ellie hesitated for a moment before stepping into the office.* "Aliit'alor, you summoned me?"

"Su'cuy, vod," *said Ka'ra to the newcomer as she sat at the desk across from the entrance, scrutinizing the one called "Ellie." The young aliit'alor had given much thought to the decision she was about to make and she felt this was the right one to make. Would her people agree? It was difficult to say and only time will tell.*
"I'll make this brief. Your accomplishments are noteworthy, even to me. Your relentless pursuit of injustice, your prison raid on Kessel... You've also made quite the few friendships across the galaxy. Someone of your status... would make a far better aliit'alor than I." *She paused a moment before continuing.* "Ellie Ordo, will you accept the mantle of Aliit'alor Ordo?"

*Ellie had heard that the Aliit'alor was young, but just how young really surprised her. She stepped up in front of the desk after she was greeted. So Ka'ra was straightforward, Ellie liked that. What she said, though, confused her. Then Ka'ra gave her reason for calling Ellie here, a reason that hit her like a ton of bricks. Her mind seemed to slow as the information sank in. After several seconds, Ellie found her voice again.* "Y..you want me, to be Aliit'alor of clan Ordo? Me?" *She couldn't quite grasp the reasoning behind the desicion.* "I mean no disrespect, but why me?"
