Knowledge is power.
Angel's eidetic memory of the holocron he was still in the middle of reading (he hadn't broken his gaze yet) enabled him to punctuate what he was going to say next by procuring the Nightsister magicks he was intently studying, making the room they were in glow with an eerie phosphorescent orange mist. The Nightsisters drew from the green dark energies on their home planet of Dathomir; Angel simply emulated their techniques and drew from the wellspring of dark forces that bathed the orange planet.
And I like power.

Behind Romulus, Serina's sensors went haywire as Angel began using his Sith magic to subtly bend the elements around them. Turning around, Romulus placed his hand upon Serina's shoulder, casting a simple Force technique to render Serina harmless to whatever dark arts Angel was stirring up. It wasn't a very advanced technique, for magic had never been Romulus' strength, but it was enough. Serina calmed down as Romulus spoke up.
And here I thought POWER was power. Think i saw that in a holovid once...
He took a few steps over to the nearest bookshelf, using the Force to draw one of the books at random towards him. He blew on it to send a small dust cloud flying before opening it up and reading it's contents.
Wow, these books really need a parental advisory rating on the cover...

It's probably why they were restricted access when I studied here all those years back.
Angel descended in a slow, dignified glide, and made several contorted gestures in a specific sequence as if casting an arcane spell. The orange mists dissipated, replaced with an illusion resembling scintillating blue flame; thus it didn't burn the shelves nor its contents within its vicinity.
Fascinating. Apparently the records say these were sorcery techniques employed by the Nightsister clans of Dathomir. I wonder if the Zabraks on Dathomir have the same tenacity as the ones on Iridonia...

Romulus looked up from the book he was reading. As interesting as the chapter on how to read people's fortunes based on the arrangement of their inner organs was, Romulus had heard Angel say (or rather, heard what was NOT said) something far more curious.
Angel are you... are you looking to enhance your own sith magic with the magic of the Nightsisters?

The dark arts is a practice that is always evolving. That's why it's called a practice and not a perfection.
Angel's eyes glowed white as the surrounding blue flame suddenly flashed twice like white-hot energy. Almost simultaneously, a thundercrack from outside could be heard from inside the Academy as the outdoor sands above the gorge where the Academy were began swirling and funnelling into the rotating supercell that had formed in the cold, dry desert terrain.

Almost as immediately, Angel's eyes simmered down and the storm outside ceased. He turned and headed to the stairwell, which led to the doorway towards the battle arenas.
I plan on practicing a few predator rounds in the training grounds. Would you care to join me?
