Okey dokey. Starting from scratch...
Well, what's Son's back story? What's his motivation to learn, and what does he want to learn?
That's where I'd start. Delve into your character's motives - as to why he'd want to learn X, from person X, because of X.
It's a good formula, and you'll find that is helps flesh out Son's past, present, and RPing future a bit. Plus it gives you places to add in more padding for rounding out your character.
