Those dates sound good to me, but you should probably specify a time zone.

I work weekends, so I'd be jumping in during the evenings. Otherwise I'm down for those dates.

Alright, we need dates! We're coming up fast on February. I vote for: Start: Friday February 6th at 12:00pm (noon) End: Sunday February 8th at 11:59pm (right before midnight) Those dates work for me!

Do we have a location to look forward to being announced? You are welcome on Naboo if another location has not yet been chosen.

Who came up with the derelict ship idea? I think it was Galdaart Fel. Did you have an idea for location, Cap'n? I'd totally be down for Naboo, be it space or planet.

I originally said a hyperspace thread. Pick one, any one will do...

m.youtube.com/watch?v=U-ZqAymW7S4I think we run with the original idea, but we expand to a degree and put focus on it. Anyone read the book Death Trooper, or even the book prior? Really good. I say we all start off on the prison ship, some prisoners, some guards pending your character and our hyper drive is down. We come across this ship and have to retrieve the parts we need. One of us will be the infected on the downed ship. We go from there and see what happens. This is all just a nightmare so no one's pc will be affected. We may need several new areas to write, like the downed ship and the prison ship to names two along with detailed sub locations

I think it's better to just let all the characters arrive and interact on their own terms, rather than forcing them into a pre-planned zombie scenario.

That's the thing, we've given a setting, people have free will to work together or in as singles. Noone knows who'll be turned and who will make it to the end.
The infected wins only if they keep the survivors from getting the parts needed and repairing their ship, or if all become infected

If this ends up not being a good idea maybe the Fel Crew may have its next SL!!

As I said, it may work great as its own RP, but in this scenario it would only hamper the ultimate goal, which is to get as many people RPing spontaneously as possible. It's not about winning and losing, it's about writing.
As for the Fel crew, I think we're pretty set for the next while.

Not everyone wants to write a zombie story.
Not that it's a bad idea on it's own. Some of us actually started something very, very similar to that setup once (and never got to finish it).

I don't think that's too much planning, personally. Setting up a thorough backdrop can definitely be beneficial as long as everything that actually takes place on the boards is free-flowing. Spontaneity is the goal, but we might want to make sure that we're all on the same page; otherwise half of us could be RPing on a space-zombie infested derelict cruiser while the other half is RPing as if they're on a studio ship filming the galaxy's Next Top Space-Chef.

OK, I like the idea of using the Colonies Hyperspace thread. Rin, nice call.
As for the zombie-prison-ship SL, personally I'm not a fan of us starting on the ship -- part of what will make this interesting to me is to see how the various participants access the derelict: head straight for the hangar? (What if there's no atmo seal in place?) Use a docking ring / collar? If so, where does that get you access into the ship?
And yeah -- the zombie idea might be awesome-sauce to some, but might drive away others. And we want as many potential participants in this free-for-all as possible.
But I do like the idea that there might be (escaped?) prisoners aboard...
