Dear JvS, The Hall of Fame is back and open for business. First priority is the nomination of a 'Class of 2014.' Alas, we had some truly remarkable writers move on in 2014, and the Hall of Fame is our way of honoring their endeavors and the quality of their contributions to the site over the years. In order for this to be a fitting tribute and to properly showcase the writers, here's how this is going to go down: the Council have been discussing the HoF for a little while, and have come up with a few names that will be nominated. Those individuals are: Eralem, Sinistra, Dunta Coral, and Dav Man'SellWe would also like to hear from the writers on JvS. I'd like to get an additional four names to comprise the Class of 2014. So please, if you know there's a worthy candidate that needs to be nominated, please fill out the following little form, and send it to a HoF staff member. Nominees will be compiled until 1/30/15, at which time nominees will be selected via poll: top four nominees by number of votes will be selected for addition to the HoF. In addition, each of the pre-selected candidates will have their very own personal thread created. (Nominees selected via poll will have their personal thread created after polls close.) If you knew this person well, had any interaction with them at all, or even heard vague rumors about the mysterious goings on around them, please feel free to relate them. Amusing anecdotes are welcome, but please confine things to the realm of reality. Outright falsehoods will get you labeled as a troll (more on that later) so if you have a particularly nasty alternate character interpretation, it would behoove you to have some links to back it up. There are some general ground rules. Discussions and differing points of view are expected. We'd be amazed if at least one of our nominees isn't considered an utter rodder in some quarters. There's nothing wrong with that. No one is going to get along with everyone. Failing to frame your opinions in a respectful manner, however, will get you labeled as a troll. We also ask that you keep on topic. Each thread is nominee-specific, and discussion of other topics is strictly forbidden. It's disrespectful to the nominee. For those that do manage to piss off the HoF staff by hiding under bridges and attacking random goats and whatnot, expect your posts to start vanishing. Keep it up and you'll lose posting privileges. Do something really naughty and you'll face the wrath of the Whills. We'll give you a heads up if you start to stray too near the line, so there really are no excuses for uncouth behavior. This discussion board has the potential to provide a wealth of data and insight, and will hopefully help us all realize the impact our nominees had on the site. We thank you for your help from the bottom of our hearts or nearest equivalent circulatory organ. THE RULES:
- Nominations must only be submitted for retired characters. Active characters are ineligible. Whills are, at this time, ineligible.
- Multiple nominations are allowed. This means that you can submit more than one nomination and a character can be nominated more than once (not by the same player).
- Self nominations are under no circumstances permitted.
- If you have a legitimate dispute of a nomination send a private message to a Hall of Fame staff member.
- Required fields are in yellow, and all must be filled out in order for to be eligible.
- These rules are subject to change at the administrators discretion.
Nomination: (Name of the character being nominated) Writer's name(s): (If applicable. For factions give character names, not necessary if the writer is the actual nominee.) Date Started: (Can be anything from the exact date to the year.) Date Retired: (Can be anything from the exact date to the year.) Reason for Submission: (Why the person is a good fit for the Hall of Fame?) Accomplishments and Contributions: (What have they done on or for JvS? Were they a councilor? An arena champion or ranked combatant? A faction leader? etc.) Experience on Jedi vs Sith: (A brief summary of their history on JvS) RP Examples: (Add a few standout posts) Any Additional Information: (Use this to tell us about them or any other important information) Thank you for your help and participation, Jedi vs Sith Hall of Fame Staff.

Dear JvS Hall of Fame Staff,
What a handsome bunch of nominees for the class of 2014! I think that's a solid starting class. I have three nominations.
Okay, so, first I would like to nominate a person who is not presently in the Hall of Fame but ought to be, in my estimation who I am about 99% sure is a retired character but if I am mistaken, please let me know and I can rescind said nomination.
Nomination: William Reign, Jen'jidai
Writer's name: Pete G.
Date Started: October 2007, I believe. Sometime on the old Facebook boards.
Date Retired: I am unsure of this exact date but I believe the character did die in either late 2011 or early the following year? I also don't know if the character is still in use as I mentioned in my little prologue above.
Reason for Submission: William Reign was arguably one of the most shrewd business people the board has ever seen, a brilliant military tactician and at one point the leader of the second Dark Jedi Order.
Accomplishments: Let's see, pretty sure Reign won one of the GBA's Tournaments. He was a GBA Judge, his RP was so impressive that he was a member of a platinum planet on 1.5 whose writings were a significant factor as to how that planet achieved and maintained platinum status. He was a member of the DJO, the VSE, and the Xendorian Guard.
Experience on JvS: I think everyone knows William Reign, OOC and I would reckon there are great and legitimate reasons why most characters would have heard of the guy IC, if not have crossed paths with him. Again, he was everywhere, whether it was through business transactions at the helm of Reign Enterprises, one of the "Big Wheels" of VSE or what. Reign was a stand out.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
My second person:
Nomination: Lord Targus
Writer's name: Stephen A.
Date Started: October 2007
Date Retired: 2010 or 2011. The memory ain't what it used to be.
Reason for submission: There is no proper Hall of Fame without one of the GBA's best duelist and arguably it's greatest High Councilor, if not in the top 2. Just my opinion but the guy won one of the GBA Tournaments, too, if I am recalling correctly and transformed that Arena into so much more than it was prior to him taking the reins.
Accomplishments: Again, he was a GBA HC and won one of the tournaments, I believe. He was also a pivotal character in the VSE and was moderately prominent in the DJO's second iteration.
Experience on JvS: Countless experience. Lord Targus was a Sith Lord who fought alongside the VSE in their heyday in countless battles along with the Warriors of the Iron Fist as well as the DJO. Targus died on Muunilinist and was buried at sea.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Third person...
Nomination: Dragus
Writer's name: Dan
Date Started: 2007, I believe but maybe very early 2008.
Date Retired: 2012, I think
Reason for submission: Dragus was a terrifying Sith Lord, IC. Come on! Did you ever read him? He was fierce. He was psychotic. It was a beautiful representation of what a Sith ought to be without it being cliche, or boring, or overdone. It was just brilliant through and through.
Accomplishments: Dragus was the best High Councilor of the old Player's Guild Council. He was a member of a platinum planet writing team, if memory serves and was an excellent all around person which is an accomplishment in my book.
Experience on JvS: Dragus was a member of the New Order of the Eye (it was NOE, right?). He was a Sith. He was a badass and anyone who has ever read him, or wrote with him, or against him or what have you, knows that he wrote arguably one of the best Sith characters you'll read anywhere.
So there they are. Two of the three are DJO affiliated so it's probably not shocking that I nominated them but whatever. I stand by -all- of their writings both in terms of character development and solid story lines as well as their writings surrounding various battles and their willingness to collaborate OOC to make IC stories that much better. Which, to me, is what it's all about in a community such as this. Otherwise, it's all kind of a GM'd mess and truly boring to read. I thank you all for your hard work in reviving this area as well as your consideration of my nominations.

Dear JvS Hall of Fame Staff,
I have thought some more on who else ought to be placed in the Hall of Fame and have come up with one more nomination.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Nomination: Tebana Sor
Writer's name: Bettina
Date Started: Late 2007 on the old Facebook boards.
Date Retired: I believe sometime in 2010.
Reason for submission: You cannot have Dav Man'Sell in the HoF without him being accompanied in by longtime IC partner Tebana Sor. She was instrumental in the Jedi Order on Yavin, she was IC and OOC quite the diplomat and she is the second best Jedi RP-er (second only to Serrin Roma, in my opinion who I believe is still active otherwise I would have nominated her, too). You didn't go to Yavin, read Yavin or interact with the Yavin Jedi either IC or OOC and not know about Tebana Sor. You just didn't. Her influence and her brilliance cannot be overstated, in my humble but FABULOUS opinion.
Accomplishments: Helped the Yavin Jedi Order rise to prominence. She was an integral member of that writing team that was, yet again, a platinum planet.
Experience on JvS: Tebana Sor was the IC partner of Dav Man'Sell, a Jedi Master within the Yavin Jedi Order. I tell you, the Yavin Jedi Order and the Corellia Jedi Order are easily some of the best Jedi character writing you'll read and Tebana should share a significant chunk of credit for it.
Okay, enough out of me. Thank you again for your consideration.
Well, after realizing this thread was here like an hour ago, here is my nominee (whom, I must admit, is surprisingly not on your list already considering you have Sinistra and Eralam there...): Nomination: Gideon Wraith/Arcanus Sunstrider/Varro Calistarious/Darth Belial/Alpharius Writer's name(s): Mark Sewards Date Started: Started in the Facebook days if I remember correctly... Date Retired: September 2014 Reason for Submission: I think a good deal of his contributions/achievements speak for themselves, but aside from them, he was one hell of a gahd dahm good writer, and bugger me side-ways if he couldn't take a menial task like firing some rockets and managing to turn it into a four paragraph epic. I'll admit he didn't always see eye to eye with some people, but he was still one of the best writer's I have ever come across on JvS, and his characters never failed to disappoint (a sith that likes giving hugs, an imperial that did the wooshi finger). Accomplishments and Contributions: where do I even begin? as Gideon Wraith, single handedly defended Kuat against an invasion by Taung Hrel and Ander Tagira (which earned him a pair of Sithies in 2014), He was literally the role-model Imperial Character of JvS. As Arcanus Sunstrider/Varro Calistarious/Darth Belial, literally wrote the rise of a living god incarnate. Had some wheelings and dealings in the early Republic back on Facebook or 1.5. Was a Councillor on the GRPC, GEC, briefly, the GRPEC, and then the PGC. Experience on Jedi vs Sith: Well I can't really say I'm privy to a complete history, but much of the previous two sections kind of cover it... RP Examples: jedivsith.boards.net/post/44385/thread <- "Rocky The Asteroid" that 'knocked' the Mand'alor around a bit... (I wish I could find the link, but he gave Windu a Speeding Ticket... which Windu proceeded to pay... 'nuff said) jedivsith.boards.net/post/47228/thread <- killed Bralex with a stray missile
I apologize if this is the wrong place to ask, but is Arcanus really gone gone?
Also, should we narrow nominations to specific characters when possible?
Nope--not the wrong place to ask at all Kel... As far as I know, Arcanus is gone, but I suppose anyone could make a comeback. I think more important is to ask--is his contribution HoF worthy? If the answer is yes, it really doesn't matter if he eventually returned.
I was not thinking clearly last night. Mark the writer may or may not be gone, but I'm pretty sure he completed Arcanus' story. I will double check.
And yes. I would second his nomination.
Nomination: Enam Revlis/Darth Tempestuous Writer's name(s): Jorge Machado Date Started: FB days - late 07, early 08. Date Retired: Technically retired 8/11/12'. I actually nominated him for the class of 2013, but we all know how that went. He came back for about a month when 2.0 went up. Officially retired: 11/7/13' Reason for Submission: Enam was the embodiment of a Sith rouge; wild, untamed, and barely constrained in his anger. He also played a key role/character in Tatooine RP for the good part of four years. Becoming well known for the Mos Eisley massacre, taking part in the Battle of the Dune Sea, Facing down the forces of both the PI and Kaine; all the while staying true to his character. Wherever Enam went, there was sure to be trouble, and that was the fun of him. No matter how much he trained up, he still played the flawed character with serious anger management issues. The fact that he was able to grow as a character; though he kept on messing up. Made him that much more believable. Accomplishments and Contributions: One of the founding members of the New Force Alliance, and a member of the Ken-Shi Temple on Tatooine. Enam was named Governor of Tatooine by Lord Archangel of the Sith Consortium. He was considered a pirate for a time, with a considerable bounty on his head after the Mos Eisley massacre. He was given the title of Darth Tempestuous by Jud'dayus after 10 years of training IC (4-5 yrs RL) - and THAT (to my knowledge) is one of the longest truly trained characters on JvS. Spanning FB thru to nearly the end of 1.5. Experience on Jedi vs Sith: Jorge brought Enam to Tattooine in late 07' and continued his training and RP on the planet for years. I don't know what else to say about the man/character. Enam was a staple on TAT; as much as Jud, Narti, Louie, or Ex are/were. Other than myself - Enam was one of the last members of the bygone era of FB. If that doesn't show a passion for his character and writing, I don't know what does. Enam went on to grow as a character, and as an ally to many on Tatooine and abroad. RP Examples: Inner SanctumEverything else is on 1.5, and i don;t know how to html... so, sorry. Literally just read any thread on Tatooine. Any Additional Information: I personally had the pleasure of watching Enam grow as a character. I was lucky enough to have Jorge collaborate with me back on FB in the very beginning of his time on TAT, before he officially joined the original writing group on TAT from 07-08. Enam started off, as all of our characters did; one dimensional, shallow, and rough around the edges. He was a mad-dog, hellbent on killing everything... and after soundly beating him in combat, Jud'dayus took him in as his learner, and the two characters were never the same, they grew in an almost symbiotic way from that point on. Not just written-wise but dimensional-wise, each adding that little spark to the others character, that infinitesimal edge of brotherly banter or biting blows. We were basically the "Odd Couple", and it worked beautifully... and the rest is history. Thank you for your time, -M-
Nomination: Lord Archangel
Writer's name(s): Johnathan "Spike" Thompson
Date Started: FB days - late 07, early 08.
Date Retired: Lets say 2011, just to be safe.
Reason for Submission: Spike built the Sith Consortium from nothing to the biggest, baddest faction in JvS history... and I stand sternly by that statement. There have been many factions, and some truly powerful ones too: NOE, DT, CCD, IF... etc. But none have had as much pull as the SC, which became the PI (Phoenix Imperium) after Spikes' leave; under the leadership of Matar. Not only did Archangel control 90% if not more of the IC Uni from 08-10, he also ran a really tight ship. His RP planning was legendary, and he didn't poo poo other RPers from participating; the more the merrier, and this also helped his character's IC mentality of controlling EVERYTHING through shear dominance. Other than Lord Soulless (who I'll be nominating as well). Archy was the only Sith Lord to hold down Korriban for as long as he did, and actually do a good job IC about it.
Accomplishments and Contributions: Founder of the Sith Consortium. Honorary member of the New Force Alliance. Emperor of Korriban. Ransacker of 90% of the IC Uni.
Experience on Jedi vs Sith: Spike showed up in orbit over TAT in 08, and proceeded to bombard the planet into a parley - as was the way on FB. He did this respectfully though, which was very unlike the usual GMing BS-parades we had during the FB period I refer to as the: GM Wars. Shortly there after He started the machine that would eventually turn into the SC. And he wrote the role of Emperor, Warmaster, and Evil Sith until the end.
RP Examples: Everything is on 1.5, and i don't know how to html... so, sorry.
Any Additional Information: I had the pleasure of meeting Spike as his fleet bombarded the fug out of the planet I moderated (Tatooine). After some verbal posturing we came to the mutual realization that we were writers NOT gamers. From that point on Archangel and Jud'dayus had a tight bound. Once again, my nominee is for a person/writer that was open for RPing, and never judged whether someone was "worthy" of their time and writing. Spike and I were originally at ends. But over the course of an hour on the FB boards we came to like each other immensely, and we collaborated basically until his departure in 2010-11.
Thank you for your time,
-M-
Nomination: Lord Soulless
Writer's name(s): Mike Black
Date Started: first days of FB app 07'.
Date Retired: Never made the jump over to 2.0. Officially retired with the crash of 1.5
Reason for Submission: The original Emperor of Korriban from 07-10. A Sith of immense magical knowledge, having trained Nexus, Archangel, Feral, Carnie, Tanith, and posibly others in the manner of Sith alchemy; and this was before everyone and their mother knew every ancient Sith magic, or had "spear of midnight black" as a mastered ability.
Accomplishments and Contributions: Held the longest stint as a ruler for Korriban in JvS history, and quite possibly the longest unseated ruler IU on JvS for all time. Besides teaching many Sith and Dark Jedi the nuances of Sith Alchemy and Magic, Soulless was a great practitioner of mind altering magics. Also, I never knew Mike not to write with a person.
Experience on Jedi vs Sith: Started when the app was but a babe, and quickly showed that he wasn't to be fugged with. As Sith Lords go, Soulless was cold and methodical.
RP Examples: Everything is on 1.5 or earlier, and i don't know how to html... so, sorry.
Any Additional Information: I RPing with Mike early on in the game. He'd actually summoned me to Korriban. And even as the grumpy Sith, i heard the call. Though I must admit that in the 8 years I've been writing Jud only a fraction of it was spent in the presence of Soulless. I never disliked where our short meeting went. I respected Mikes writing and character as I would respect a person talking to me over a pint of beer. Mike was a true writer, RPer, and all around supportive member of the site.
Thank you for your time,
