It's about time I found an active Star Wars RP board... Anyway, glad to be here!
My characters a quiet assassin of antiquity sent forward in time by a wacky Rakatan ritual. He's dark-sided but has no loyalty to, or knowledge of, the Sith. If that interests you, then please hmu!
Look forward to some sweet roleplay here!

First and foremost, welcome to JvS. Obviously, you've laid out some plans you have for this character, but what type of RP do you look to be involved with? We have lots of different angles and takes on RP here and probably will have somewhere that will suit you needs and wants greatly. To start you out, we have a few different major factions around including The Galactic Empire, The Jedi Order, and The Galactic Republic for starters as well as a few different smuggler groups and a large group for Mandalorians as well. Basically we have an approach here for just about everyone's style and a group to fit it.
However as a Darksider as your character is, I would suggest the Galactic Empire usergroup to get involved in. They are darksider based and, though they are predominantly Sith and Dark Jedi, etc, they should be able to get you whatever you need for writing an assassin. Anything else, just ask around. I like to think we're all good people here, wanting to help others out should they need it, with varying skill levels of writing.

I see...
Well, as I am a tenderfoot in respect to this board and its workings, I may need a bit of explaining to happen. Specifically, how faction membership works and how one can attain it.
Thanks for the welcome!

There are a few ways. What I would is that you go ahead and post in the thread I linked for the Galactic Empire and then you can go ahead and click on the third icon over at the top of the page that will link you to your profile and from there you can hit the "Groups" tab. Listed there you will find all the groups of JvS and on the right hand side you will find the option to "Request to Join" group for each group.
Good luck and maybe we can write together at some point. I have numerous characters here so the chances are up there.
Also, as a last tid bit, there are other forms of writing here that just in Uni RP such as the Journal of the Whills and the Galactic Battle Arena. The Galactic Battle Arena (or GBA) is pretty much exactly as it sounds, a place to battle with other writers, whether it's just to test your own skills and abilities or to learn how to do so. It can be found Here. As for the Journal of the Whills (or JotW), it's a forum freewriting section. It serves as a place for anyone to write anything with or without the limitations of the site's rules and regulations that have been established. It can be found Here

Thank you for the explanation, however, a concern.
The link you posted for the Galactic Empire thread is a link to this thread instead. There is a thread in OOC discussion called 'Galactic Empire' however, it reads as if it's discussing a particular roleplay, not a general faction.

it would seem my good friend Vandook as accidentally input the wrong link for the Empire (this is the correct one, but seeing as how you found it already, no need to sweat I guess). If you skip ahead to about the end of the 13th page/start of the 14th page you can kind of catch up with the groups latest discussions, but if you drop them a line in there, Nicademus Delvardus IV will likely show up pretty quickly to bring you up to speed with what the Empire has going at the moment (although, now that I've tagged him, he might drop in here, who knows). Best of luck.

Thank you for the tag, Ifrit.
Hallowed, the general thread for the 'Galactic Empire' is exactly the thread you mentioned. Its original creator, Sinistra, is no longer with us sadly due to rl calling her. In her departure, my character, Nicademus Delvardus, has taken over as Emperor. We have been rebuilding our ranks since a lot of the old DT (Dark Tide; the Sith faction that the GE sprang up from and served as the core of the Empire during Sinistra's reign) and GE (Galactic Empire) folks have gone missing or left for various reasons. So due to our recruitment drive, we are always looking for new people to help replenish the ranks of the Empire (which has been rather successful so far).
If you are interested in working with the Empire, could I ask for some more details on your char? Such as expertise you plan for your char to utilize or perhaps any sort of profession your char might be gunning for?

Well, as I'm sure you don't want to read the full unabridged biography, here's the crash course.
HS served as an assassin for a Rakatan warlord 'back in the day.' A sorcerer's vision showed a new enemy that rose after the fall of the Infinite Empire. Hallowed was subjected to a strange ritual that sent him many, many years into the future to kill this target.
That would be his primary ambition at the time, but he would be willing to work for a faction (the Empire) that would give him the chance to build connections to fulfill this goal. Hallowed's primary skill is in stealth, which would make him ideal for power plays or other political assassinations. He is also skilled in tracking his targets without guidance from his employers.
Thank you both for the assistance.
