"There is an area here only for the guests, there are a few rooms for you to settle in, either all of you three together, or just individually. That is up to you, each rooms are filled with ever necessities you will be needing for the duration of your stay, and if you do need anything else, just let me know, I will make sure that you do get it as soon as possible." He informed them with a warm smile before finally showing to them the wing where the guest(s) quarters was located. "This is you." Atlantis gestured to them, the consoles were also present there for access and security so that it was only them that could access their own room or rooms. *Aerandir nodded as he, Michelle, and Morgan followed Atlantis to the guest quarters, listening to him explain the quarters and offer to bring them anything else they might need during their stay.* "That should hopefully not be necessary, but thanks," *he responded, before they stopped outside a corridor of rooms, Atlantis gesturing towards the consoles.
Aerandir studied them a moment, then pulled up the map of the academy on his datapad. He made note of their current position, as well as what room types were nearby. The individual rooms were on the right; family-sized rooms on the left. They could stay in a family-sized compartment, or have their own. Either worked for him, though he had a notion as to why sharing quarters would be better, but he figured he might as well ask the girls first, so he turned to Michelle.* "Whatcha think, split up or share quarters?" *She looked up at him, around the hall, then at the map on the datapad he held. Then she looked first at the singular quarters, then to the family quarters, before shrugging and replying,* "Either's fine, but if we shared quarters it'd be easier for us to talk about the mission." *Aerandir smiled.* "Exactly what I thought." *He strode to the family-sized quarters nearest him on the left; its quick access to the main corridor would be useful. Supplying his thumbprint and then his retina scan as customary, the room opened and he took a step inside. It was just a single room, with three beds and a refresher adjacent, but it was well-furnished and comfortable; that was all that really mattered to him.
He nodded, satisfied, turning towards Atlantis only to see Michelle peeking around into the room beside him. He smiled at her, then looked back to Atlantis.* "It'll do quite nicely, thanks. I don't think there's anything else we need right now, so if you need to get moving, go for it," *he concluded with a nod.*

Atlantis remained politely silent while the family thought about their sleeping arrangements and which room or rooms they would be using. But upon decision and when Aerandir selected that room, Atlantis turned to the central mainframe and input other datas that said it was already in use and therefore only Aerandir, Michelle and Morgan could access that room of theirs, no one else unless the external person was accompanied by one of the siblings or the daughter.
He finally turned to look at Aerandir with a grateful smile, and he even extended that courtesy to Michelle and Morgan before saying. "I should be the one thanking you, not the other way around." He bowed respectfully, Atlantis knew what was at stake and for them to come all the way here from Felucia to help out, Atlantis was touched, plus there was also the fact that Morgan had inquired earlier if he was alright. He looked at the little girl with a warm and affectionate smile. "Something tells me that if and when you get to meet my girlfriend, she will like you," Then he looked at the siblings with another smile. "All of you."
He nodded, that much he knew about Crystal Kayne, and whatever had been going on earlier, which he clearly had no idea at all just yet, Atlantis also knew that Crystal was good, or had been great at concealing her own thoughts, she was mindful of those and she also knew how to compartmentalize, much to his own dismay, but nevertheless he figured that hopefully sooner or later he would find out and in the meantime he was hoping that she was talking about it with anyone, and at this point he didn't care if it wasn't him.
In any case, Atlantis smiled once again and took a step back to give that privacy to the Calmcacil family. "I will see you all tomorrow, and I shall introduce you to the detectives and rangers that have been investigating this matter, unfortunately I won't be a part of the investigation anymore, but yes I do have several leads, leads that I prefer not to tell you because I do not want to influence you at all, therefore I already apologize if I do not reveal much because this isn't just about me or my brother." Atlantis left it at that for the time being, there were so many things that he knew he was hiding but only because for one it wasn't his story to tell nor his place to share without the concerned party present at all.
"I bid you three a good night and may the Force forever be with you." Atlantis meant all of that and he bowed again to bid them that farewell before turning on his heels and head to where he intended to go, apprehensively someway, somehow...

*Atlantis's response was to return the thanks with a grateful smile and a bow. Aerandir's eyebrows flickered upward briefly but he only returned the bow, along with Michelle. Atlantis then made a comment that his girlfriend would like all of them, but Aerandir knew it had been mainly aimed at Morgan. He smiled down at his lovely daughter, knowing that it would likely be true; Morgan was quite the friendly and lovely child, he had a hard time believing anyone with any sort of sense couldn't like her.
Atlantis then announced his departure, noting that he had leads but he would not share those, not wanting to influence them. Aerandir nodded in understanding while Michelle scrunched her forehead; she understood, but at the same time, she wasn't entirely sure why withholding what could be crucial information was a good thing. She decided not to question it, at least right now, and eventually nodded herself.
When Atlantis bid them farewell, Aerandir and Michelle bowed again, Aerandir replying,* "You as well," *before watching him depart.*
"If the information's useful, why shouldn't we use it?" *Michelle asked aloud at last.
Aerandir looked down at her, understanding of her confusion, but shook his head.* "To be completely impartial. He and his brother are in the spotlight. If he was feeding us information, public perception could be skewed as unfairly influencing the investigation."
*Michelle seemed to consider this for a moment, then only frowned further.* "I thought the public mostly still believed in them, though. And if it helps us find out whoever actually did this, then it doesn't matter in the end, does it?"
"I agree." *This statement made Michelle's eyebrows raise in surprise. He set a hand on her shoulder as he looked in the direction Atlantis had parted before adding,* "But I respect his desire for this issue to remain neutral, and for the investigation to come to a clean conclusion on its own."
*Michelle only thought about this for a moment before seeming to reluctantly accept it. Glad to be moving past this point, Aerandir smiled before reminding them that none of them had their things from the ship. So, after a brief excursion back into the mists, Michelle using the Force to clear their vision so they could find their ship, they returned to the quarters with their belongings in tow...*

*Morgan followed along dutifully as the family headed toward the quarters area, Lokay teetering a little, seeming really eager to want to take a post-meal nap instead of constantly being awoken and moving everywhere. When they reached the guest quarters, she watched as her daddy and Michelle briefly talked over whether they should share quarters or split up; personally, Morgan wanted to share, but fortunately, that was the route they took, which also seemed to have strategic advantages. Apparently.
After her daddy accessed the room and he and Michelle peeked around, Morgan took a look inside as well. As did Lokay, who noticed the beds, specifically the pillows, and, excitedly, leapt from Morgan's shoulder, gliding over to the nearest one. He landed, padded around on it a bit, then curled up for another nap, causing Morgan to giggle.
She turned back to Atlantis when he spoke to them, saying that his girlfriend would like her when she met her. Well, all of them, but judging by the smile he gave Morgan, she could tell it had been mainly aimed at her. She smiled sweetly, glad he thought so, and suddenly she was eager to meet his girlfriend as well. Finally, after announcing the plans for tomorrow, Atlantis gave them a bow and a farewell before leaving, a bow Morgan returned before standing up straight and waving.* "Bye Atlantis! Have a good night!"
*When he was gone, she turned toward her daddy and Michelle, who were having a conversation about something Atlantis had said about information he was keeping to himself. Apparently, Michelle thought it was a bad idea, and her daddy actually agreed, but only relented because he respected Atlantis's desires. She frowned, looking toward where Atlantis had left as well, sucking in the flesh of her left cheek and chewing on it contemplatively as she thought about this. She wasn't entirely sure she understood either side, to be honest... As far as she should be concerned, she told herself, all she had to be worried about was carrying out the investigation and finding out who really did it.
After the family took a brief detour back to their ship to collect their things, they returned to the room, Morgan deciding to claim the bed Lokay was sleeping on and setting her bag down. She looked toward the refresher, wondering what it was like. It had been a long day, as traveling days often were...* "I think I'm gonna shower," *she announced, opening her bag and producing a towel.*
"Sounds like a good idea!" *Michelle chimed in with a smile, setting her bag down on the bed on the opposite side of the room and taking out her own towel. Morgan smiled and took off her shoes and socks, wiggling her toes a bit, glad to have freed them from their cotton prison. After Michelle did the same, Morgan grinned at her and marched with her aunt toward the refresher.
It was quite nice, actually, with the floor and part of the wall textured in what looked like marble, or possibly imitation, but it was regardless a pleasant sight. The shower itself, situated in the far corner was fairly spacious, not nearly as large as the shower in her home, but suitable for two young girls. It was square and slightly elevated, with a translucent glass door and a wall seemingly made out of stone. Well, even if it wasn't as spacious, it was certainly a lot cooler than the shower at home.
The two girls disrobed and stepped in, shutting the glass door and turning on the water, which was immediately warm. They both stood there for a few moments, reveling in the warm, relaxing current, before moving on to washing...*

*The girls claimed their beds, both of the ones on the edge, leaving his in the middle. He went to sit down on the edge, then laid back upon it; comfortable enough. He sat up just as Morgan announced she was going to go shower, and Michelle that she would join her. He smiled and nodded as they departed, then reached for his datapad, intending to jot down a few notes based on the conversations they'd had with Serrin and Atlantis so far.
But just as he reached for his notes file, the datapad beeped with an incoming message. Point of origin: Belkadan. Bruce? There couldn't have been anyone else, so he answered the call, waiting for Bruce's image to blur into view before asking,* "What's up, Bruce?"
*His old master's brows were slightly furrowed, betraying some grave news before his simple answer came.* "Belkadan appears to be under attack from within, via redcrested cougar."
*"Attack from within"? Aerandir's eyebrows raised with concern; was some kind of sabotage at play here? A rebellion of some sort? But then Bruce mentioned redcrested cougars and his brows furrowed. Was that even possible? He and many others had thought them extinct before the Yuuzhan Vong bioweapon had receded.* "Redcrested cougars? Are you sure?"
"Absolutely," *Bruce's image responded with a nod.* "Saw them for myself. Apparently so have several others on the planet." *He paused briefly, then added,* "For some, it was the last thing they saw."
*Aerandir clicked his tongue in sympathy and shook his head, looking away for a moment. Not only were they not extinct, but were attacking Belkadan's inhabitants... and killing some. Territorial beasts, they were, and perhaps they thought they were going to retake the planet. After another thought came to mind, he looked back at Bruce's face and asked,* "Are the students alright?"
*Bruce nodded.* "Two of them had a run-in with three cougars, I'd sensed distress nearby the Academy and came to their rescue. One, a Farghul boy, had his side gashed and he fell unconscious before I made it back to the Academy, but he'll recover. Another, a Lorrdian girl, received a bite to the femur, but she seems more concerned for the boy than herself. They're fine, but according to the reports, the cougars that had survived have been silently reproducing to great numbers within the last several decades since the Yuuzhan Vong attack, and they're very territorial. However, our numbers alone can't repel them. We need help... which is why I've called you."
*Aerandir frowned. He was glad the students were so far safe, but this entire situation... The timing was awful. Aerandir would have gone there himself in a flash had he not received the call from Umgul. It was far from hopeless, as there were plenty of other Jedi who would be willing to hand, but he hated the fact that he couldn't be there to defend a planet he had for years. So he only nodded at Bruce and responded,* "I would come help if I could, but I'm indisposed at the moment. I'm not even on Felucia. However, I will send word along the Jedi line and they should send aid. If the local populace is under attack, no doubt the story will be getting exposure on the HoloNet as well. Reach out to the Republic, perhaps they'll send aid as well. As for Belkadan's government, well, who knows how they'll respond, but keep in contact with them, find out what their plan is."
"Thank you. I shall." *Bruce responded with a nod.*
"May the Force be with you, old Master."
"And you as well." *Bruce concluded before ending the communication.
As soon as the connection was closed, Aerandir immediately did as promised and began creating an encrypted message for the Jedi Order, naming the basic information: That Belkadan was under siege by a vicious and territorial feline predator known as the redcrested cougar, the planet didn't have the proper forces to contain the outbreak, and the proper contact information for the academy and Bruce himself. Once that was done and sent out, he set his datapad out and sighed, resting his head in his hands. Hopefully this outbreak could be easily contained, but the fact that people had already died and he couldn't go himself...* "It'll be fine," *he assured himself.* "Gotta focus..."

*Michelle turned off the water as Morgan opened the shower door, reaching for their towels. She handed Michelle's to her before drying herself off, running her towel vigorously through her hair for a few moments before removing the towel and shaking it around. After tossing it back and running her hands through it some to straighten it, she grinned up at Michelle.*
"You're lucky you have short hair. It's easier to take care of after getting it wet, and it dries faster!"
*Michelle giggled.* "You could just cut your hair short too, ya know!"
*Morgan shook her head indignantly.* "No way! I like my hair long," *she replied, gently pulling a strand over her shoulder to stroke protectively.
Michelle giggled again.* "Aw, I didn't mean it, Morgie hair!" *she cooed, reaching out to gently stroke the same strand of hair.
Morgan smiled sweetly, briefly making a show of looking at the strand of hair before looking back up at Michelle with a grin.* "My hair says it forgives you, see?" *She then lifted the strand and tossed it up onto Michelle's shoulder, giggling.* "It's hugging you!"
*Michelle laughed harder and rested her head against the strand of hair on her shoulder, reaching up with her hands to pat and stroke it.* "I love you, Morgie hair!"
*After a few more moments of giggle fits, they dried off their feet and stepped out of the shower. While Michelle put her clothes back on, Morgan simply picked hers up and walked out of the refresher, Michelle rolling her eyes and grinning at the act. When Morgan reappeared in the quarters proper, she noticed her daddy sitting on the bed with his head in his hands, datapad sitting beside him, muttering something softly she couldn't hear. Frowning, she approached him, tossing her clothes and towel onto her own bed before climbing up on his, crawling over to him, and sitting up behind him, resting her hands and chin on his shoulder and leaning against him lovingly.* "What's wrong, Daddy?"

*Aerandir was just lifting his head from his hands and lowering them when he felt the movement on his bed, turning his head to see Morgan leaning up against him affectionately and concernedly, asking what was wrong. He'd also heard the sound of fabric falling on the bed beside him, telling him all he needed to know about her current state of dress.
Of course.
He smiled, partially at this, but mostly at her concern for him, then looked toward the refresher as Michelle too approached, dressed, towel around her shoulders; she too had caught his expression and of course felt his minor distress. She sat down on Morgan's bed so that she was across from him but did not speak, waiting for him to answer Morgan's question. He gave a sigh, then looked at Michelle and asked,* "What is a redcrested cougar?"
*Michelle's brows furrowed, as though wondering why he'd ask that and why it would be bothering him, before answering,* "A former native species of Belkadan, a large feline that could weigh up to one hundred and forty kilos, and their fangs were... I think ten centimeters long. Very territorial and daring, even attacking the ExGal-4 facility at times. They were thought extinct after the Yuuzhan Vong bioweapon." *Her mouth was about to form the question as to why her brother was asking this, then her eyes widened when she realized the reason.* "They're back?! How many?"
*Aerandir nodded, always impressed by her aptitude, then explained,* "According to Bruce, in great enough numbers to attack the bunker, the city, forest hikers, and even a couple of Jedi students all around the same time. Large enough that he needed to call for aid." *Realizing either of the girls would ask about the students' wellbeing, he raised a hand assuringly.* "The students are fine. Injured, but they'll recover. I already let Bruce know we're wrapped up here." *Actually, Aerandir had completely forgotten to let Bruce know his current location and objective, but to Bruce, the situation on Belkadan was more important to the man anyway.* "And I've relayed his message along the Jedi line, so someone should respond. They'll be fine. Let's let them focus on the cougars, and we'll focus on this investigation."
*Michelle seemed to be fighting with similar thoughts to Aerandir's own regarding this all; after all, Belkadan had also been Michelle's home for some time, and she was probably far more attached to it seeing as she'd partially grown up there. A time or two she'd even admitted to him that she liked Belkadan more than Felucia, though she didn't mind Felucia and wouldn't say that to Morgan, knowing how much the girl loved the world.
But at last Michelle seemed to accept that this task fell to Bruce now, that they had their own task to attend to, and she nodded. Smiling, Aerandir put an arm around Morgan, hugging her before he stood, reaching into his own bag.* "Well, I suppose I'll shower myself. And Morgan..." *He shook his head and smiled.* "Never mind."
*He had intended on asking the girl to dress, but seeing as this was essentially their home for however long it took to settle this investigation, he supposed there was no real harm in it. He pulled his towel out of his bag and headed off to the refresher, before quipping over his shoulder,* "Hope you left me some hot water."
*Michelle laughed softly.* "We weren't in there that long! And if there isn't, well, you're a Jedi! Use your discipline or something!"
*Aerandir chuckled, then disappeared into the refresher.*

*Morgan waited, looking up as Michelle joined them, sitting across from them. She returned her gaze to her daddy before he finally answered... by asking Michelle what a redcrested cougar was. Morgan frowned; why was he asking about that? And why ask Michelle? Morgan knew the answer too, and she had been the one to ask him what was wrong.
Oh. Because Michelle was able to figure out faster. Of course. Morgan needed to sharpen her mind; she found herself envious of Michelle's quick-thinking on occasion, but when the thought finally set in that a resurgence of the previously thought extinct feline obviously meant worse things than she initially realized, her eyes widened a little and she refocused upon her daddy. He explained that Bruce had contacted him to let him know about their increased numbers and the attacks upon civilians, military, and Academy students, though the latter would be fine. But they were unable to come help due to being committed to the investigation on Umgul, though her daddy had already sent word down the Jedi line to call for aid...
Morgan almost wondered if she'd go if she were able. Could she possibly try to calm the animals and convince them not to attack? Perhaps not... She could have also taken Rush; the big akk dog would both be able to protect her and overpower the felines, his rough hide an easy match for whatever claws they had.
None of that mattered, though, because they were here. All they could do was leave it to Bruce, while they focused on this investigation. Morgan wrapped her arms around her daddy and hugged him, and after a moment he returned the hug, before getting up and announcing he too would shower. She nodded, sitting down on the edge of the bed, then looked up curiously when he said her name... before shaking his head and saying "never mind." She tilted her head to the side, wondering what he was going to say... but it probably had something to do with the fact that she was naked.
Well, a victory for her, then.
She grinned, tittering when the siblings exchanged quips before she hopped off of her father's bed and climbed up onto her own, pulling her brush from her bag and beginning to brush her hair.* "I almost wish we could go help Belkadan..."
*Michelle sighed softly.* "I do too. I still kind of think of it as home."
*Home... if Morgan hadn't formed her bond with Felucia, then she probably would have felt the same as Michelle after the relocation. But she couldn't see anywhere else but Felucia home now, not even the planet she was born on, nor the planet she was partially raised on.
Not wanting to insult Michelle, she said nothing about it and kept brushing her hair. Michelle stood up and went to her own bed, opting to do the same; though, as Morgan already observed, it didn't take nearly as long to manage. When Morgan finished brushing her own hair, she set the brush on the nightstand beside the bed, then set her bag and clothes down on the floor. She picked up her towel and looked around, spotting a hook that seemed made for the purpose. However, she found that, upon reaching the hook, she could not reach it.*
"Want me to help?" *offered Michelle.*
*Morgan only shook her head; she'd conquer her short height's shortcomings on her own terms. So she attempted to lift the towel with the Force, settling it over the hook, and letting it go gently. The towel only fell to the ground. She spluttered and picked it back up, squinting up at the hook then looking around. A chair... She walked over to it, dropping the towel over the chair and pushing it toward the hook. It was a bit heavier than expected, but she managed. Once against the wall, she climbed up onto it, picked up her towel, then was able to reach the hook to hang the towel. She smirked, then turned to beam at Michelle.*
"I got it," *she announced simply.
Michelle giggled and shook her head.* "So much work just to hang a towel..."
*Morgan giggled a little, though had to admit, she felt a bit slighted; she had to find ways around her shortness somehow, after all. She hopped down off the couch and looked at the bed. Lokay was asleep on one pillow... she was glad there were two, so Lokay could have his own. Smiling, she simply climbed up onto the bed, laying down on her back on top of the covers, waiting for her daddy to return.*

*Aerandir too had been fond of the bathroom architecture, and jokingly considered renovations to their own back on Felucia. The shower was comfortable and warm, though he chose not to take too long ad reappeared in the main quarters in no time, wearing a pair of lounge pants that would have to suffice as pajamas for the duration of their stay.
Looking around, he immediately noticed the chair moved over by the towel hooks, along with two towels hanging there already. One was Morgan's, of course. He chuckled to himself and also hung his towel there, then checked the chrono. Yeah, it was about that time.* "Suppose we might as well call it a night. Rest well, because the real job begins tomorrow."
*The girls agreed. Before Morgan could sit up, Aerandir couldn't resist tickling at her ribs, eliciting giggles and a withdrawing motion from her. When she sat up, they exchanged goodnight hugs and he kissed her on the cheek before she slid under the covers. Aerandir then moved on to give Michelle a goodnight hug as well, then turned off the lights after she was in her own bed.
He moved to his own bed and slid in, but didn't attempt to sleep just yet, staring at the ceiling as thoughts swam in his mind. Most of them were about the events of the day, the facts that were known... He reviewed them all mentally repeatedly, not wanting to lose the details overnight, even if the morning would come with a refresher course. Once he was satisfied he had gone over the facts enough, he shifted into a more comfortable position, the last thoughts on his mind before he eventually drifted off into sleep were that, although he missed his lovely infant daughter, he would relish an all-but-guaranteed uninterrupted night's rest...*

Opening the door to the room I have been provided for my stay here at the academy, I sigh when I see that the fact I have not seen my twin, an unwanted gift of sorts from my time on Bimmisaari spent attempting to learn to better perfect my ability to form and control a doppleganger, does not mean that I am free of the other me that has been haunting me.
"I would offer to help, my twin tells me with an amused smile, but I know as well as you that you'd only protest that you need none, isn't that so?"
Resisting the urge to reply, that being the line I've chosen to draw where my other me is concerned, I shrug free from my outer robe and fold it over the back of the chair in front of the dataterminal after laying Mace's notes on the desk. Removing my datapad from its pouch on my belt, I sit after stretching, ignoring the chattering of the other me that persists despite my relative lack of attention to her or what she says, and bring up the first of the files I have been provided on what the investigation into crimes I have been asked to help solve, prepared to stay up for as long as it takes to get up to speed so that I can best begin contributing to it.

*The unexpected call had been met with some surprise and also disappointment from the Calmcacil family. True, it was an emergency, but Atlantis had put his faith in the family, so to be called away so soon into the mission? Aerandir worried about the potential damaging of trust, and the girls also seemed disappointed at being taken away from a mission ad potential new friends. As well, Morgan didn't want to be taken away from Lukas, but priorities were priorities. So Aerandir had made his contact with Atlantis and offering profuse apologies, enlisting in his absence a Sullustan female. Hopefully, her efforts would prove effective in exposing the truth and aiding in the investigation. With the arrangements made and things packed again, Aerandir, Michelle, and Morgan departed the world, in hopes that they could one day return and make up for this no-doubt disappointment.*

Sitting in a cross-legged position on the floor of his room, Lyov Entin tells the holographic image projected from a twelve sided polygonally shaped blue and gold holocron, currently surrounded by six smaller pentagonal pieces that, along with the larger dodecagon, he telekinetically holds aloft, "I have seen him. He is a learner here at the academy."
The Gupin from your visions? the holographic projection of the gatekeeper of the holocron asks in the calm, soothing voice that has, after learning from the gatekeeper for the past four years, become so familiar to him.
"Yes, Lyov tells the artificial personality created by and based upon someone he knew only briefly in life and that he now considers himself the student of. It will happen soon, he continues, taking a deep breath to keep at bay the anxiety the thoughts of his visions of what may come to pass now that the possible events the Gupin will soon set into motion by seeking him out will begin to play out more swiftly. Having learned the art of allowing Ashla to show him such visions of what may be from the gatekeeper that also taught him how to commune with Her and resist the call of Bogan that he once heeded and, he understands now, was once a slave to even though he had thought himself it's master, Lyov knows that what Ashla shows him are glimpses of possible events, subject to innumerable permutations based not only on his actions but those of countless others that are, will be, or may only possibly be a part of those events, and yet he is troubled by some of what he has seen may occur, and so tells the gatekeeper, I am not sure that I am ready, Master."
Be mindful of your fears, the gatekeeper tells him tranquilly, lest they make you vulnerable to the very thing that incites them within you. Ashla has warned you of the possible outcomes that lay ahead, trust that She has done so only so that you might avoid the paths leading to them. You have turned from such paths and walk another now. Draw strength from that. Remember what you have learned, and use it to stay upon the path you now walk.
Lyov nods, remembering who he once was and how he has become who he is now; the Jedi from Corellia that brought him the holocron played their role in that achievement, as did the Jedi here on Umgul in allowing him to be brought from his prison cell to their academy so that the Jedi of Corellia could rehabilitate him, but he undersatnds from what the gatekeeper has taught him that it was ultimately his choices and actions that have brought him to where he is now. "I will, Lyov smiles as he catches himself before adding the word try to his statement and inviting a reminder from the gatekeeper about the perils of its use. Reassured by the conversation with the gatekeeper, Lyov bows his head respectfully as he says, Thank you, Master," having had only the artificial personality to interact with for so long that it has become as real to him as the being it was based upon was before her death.
The smaller pentagonal shapes lock back into their places on the dodecagon as Lyov surfaces from his quasi-meditative state, the gatekeeper disappearing as the holocron resumes its square, inert shape, and he holds out a hand to catch it as it falls. Looking at the holocron, Lyov remembers how long it took him to learn the simple act of inviting the Force to aid him in opening it rather than commanding it to bend the holocron to his will, which would have only ensured it remained locked. That basic lesson was one of the select few that Hyatt Ashton, the Jedi from Corellia that had brought the holocron with him so that Lyov could learn from it, taught him. Lyov smiles as he remembers asking Hyatt if it was he or Atlantis that chose to offer him the chance of rehabilitation only to be told enigmatically that there was nothing that occurred at the Mist Order Academy that Atlantis did not know of, allow, or put into motion. When Hyatt departed from Umgul, telling Lyov that he had learned enough that he was free to go wherever he wished so long as he left the holocron with the Mist Order before doing so, his reply to the question about whether Atlantis agreed with the arrangement had been the same, and yet Lyov has not spoken to or seen Atlantis or any of the other members of the Mist Order since they took him into custody. Lyov suspects that he is, or was at one time, under some form of surveillance or that Hyatt was reporting on his progress to Atlantis, but has accepted that he may never know; the matter having become of less and less importance to him over time as he grew to better understand the reasons he would be treated as a non-entity by the Mist Order, a phantom permitted to exist but never acknowledged. Lyov understands what he took from them, and what seeing him would remind them of, and takes steps to ensure that he only roams the grounds and buildings of the academy when the chances are slim that he will encounter them. A few students, like the Gupin, have seen him occasionally on his solitary haunts of the grounds or halls of the academy, but he feels certain only a few among that small number might recognize him, and has yet to be approached by any of those who have seen him.
Standing and stretching, Lyov paces his small, sparsely decorated room, chosen to reflect, Hyatt told him when bringing him to it, the monastic sensibilities of the Jedi Order given that it was a condition of his release from prison that he learn the teachings of the Order as a way of rehabilitating him. He was given a set of the traditional Jedi robes when the gatekeeper of the holocron deemed him worthy of wearing them as he had progressed enough to be considered an Initiate, but Lyov has never worn them, keeping them folded in a chest of drawers instead as, despite the gatekeeper's assessment, he has yet to feel he is anything other than a freed and reformed slave of Bogan taught to commune instead with Ashla who is yet to learn what that means for him to be doing with what he has learned. An uncompleted lightsaber hilt, only partially assembled and missing a focusing crystal lays in a simple wooden box atop the dresser, constructed as a part of a lesson taught by the holocron's gatekeeper and, because the lesson also made him aware of what the completion of the lightsaber means, left incomplete. Like the robes, the lightsaber is a symbol that Lyov does not feel worthy of bearing.
Setting the holocron on a small wooden shelf above the dresser, Lyov runs a hand through his dark, chin length hair and then over his bearded chin as he resumes pacing from one side of his room to the other, sifting through his memories of the potential futures and possible events leading to that which Ashla chose to show him as a means of bettering his chances of navigating his way through what is to come without courting the misfortunes he has seen may come to pass if he does not choose, or lead those who will be with him - as he has seen that he will not be alone in navigating through what is to come - to choose wisely.

Like many of the communal spaces in the academy, the guest wing's centrally located open area is decorated with ornamental plants native to Umgul and has other features that incorporate elements from Umgul's mountainous environment, such as small fountains or rocks so artfully arranged together they could almost be sculptures. It is in the central open area that Aidan and his companions find Lyov, whom they have dubbed He Who Must Not Be Named, standing with his hands clasped behind his back as he appears to study the patterns in the water flowing in a triptych wall fountain made from weathered gray stones taken from the mountains surrounding the academy.
Dressed in nondescript, loose fitting clothes of a muted khaki hue that allow for comfort and freedom of movement, Lyov turns when he hears the soft fluttering of the Gupin he has foreseen he is to meet, a slight crease appearing between his brows as he sees that the Gupin is not alone. The crease does not persist long, fading as Lyov, a tall Epicanthix with chin length dark brown hair and a neatly trimmed beard, knows that the visions Ashla bestows are only fragments of what will be. Lyov knows the Gupin has come to ask for his help in finding something, and has seen pieces of what may come to pass if he agrees to do so, but many things, like the Gupin being accompanied by three other students of the Mist Order, have yet to be reveled to him.
Lyov has debated how best to greet the Gupin many times, whether it would be better to make it known that their meeting has been foreseen or to keep his visions to himself, and as he ultimately decided on the latter course to avoid intimidating the Gupin with such a display of his abilities, Lyov simply says, "Good morning," his tone and expression neutral save for cocking his right eyebrow inquisitively.
Aidan, having chosen to do the talking, and having rehearsed what he was going to say, is briefly caught off guard when He Who Must Not Be Named speaks first, but recovers quickly and says, "Hello there, pausing before remembering to add, Sir. Clearing his throat and falling back on his script, Aidan pats his chest as he introduces himself, I am Aidan, Padawan learner of Master Franz. I am here, sir, in the hope that you can help me with an investigation I have been tasked with. Would you be willing to answer some questions for me?"
Lyov doesn't answer the question at first, unclasping his hands and motioning towards the other students with Aidan, asking, "And who are your companions?"
Bria, who unlike Aidan has never seen Lyov in the flesh and finds that he is nothing like she imagined he would look or behave like given what she knows about his past, and feels herself looking for hints of it in his words and actions, introduces herself next, "Bria Calvetti, sir. I am an Initiate here at the academy."
Veda, as cheerful and friendly as ever as she has learned her lessons well about not going into anything with preconceived notions that could cloud what she sees and hears, waves and smiles beneath her veil as she bows and replies, "Veda Lal, sir. I'm also an Initiate," and then elbows Saoirse in the ribs.

Aidan doesn't tell her anything more than she already knew from what Veda had told Mahela about the not to be named guy, along with the suggestion that she ask Atlantis about what had happened five years ago, which Saoirse isn't sure is the best idea with what Aidan said about it involving something painful for Atlantis and the other instructors, so she decides to just wait and see if the topic ever comes up on it’s own.
After all of the buildup to meeting with the nameless guy, Saoirse is surprised that he is just allowed to move around the guest wing with no sign of any guards or anything keeping him there. Nameless guy himself doesn't seem like what Saoirse thinks of when she thinks of a Darksider, with no glowing orange eyes or simmering anger and hostility in his tone of voice or posture, and looking just like any normal human male, which she guesses means that his rehabilitation is going well.
Since she already knows why they are here, Saoirse tunes Aidan out as he starts telling nameless guy why they're here, looking around at the plants and other things as she hasn't seen this part of the academy yet, and half listening to what is being said while moving closer to one of the rock sculpture things to check if they are glued together or just stacked up. Almost dropping the rock she had picked up, confirming that they are just stacked up, when Veda nudges her, Saoirse puts the rock behind her back as she thinks back to the last thing she half heard and tells nameless guy with a polite smile, "Saoirse Beirne, pausing before saying, another Initiate, since she isn't sure that she is officially a Padawan yet, and then says, It's nice to meet you, sir."
Looking over towards Aidan since he made it clear he wants to do all the talking, Saoirse tosses the rock from hand to hand behind her back to keep from fidgeting around like she usually does and just waits for him to get on with explaining why they're here.

The introductions, and manner in which they are given, give Lyov an opportunity to begin gaining a sense of those that make them. The Gupin seems to be flustered briefly when being taken off of the path he had determined he would follow for their interaction, but appears more at ease one he has stepped back on to it. The way the other three students defer to the Padawan suggests that he is the leader of the group, possibly explaining why the visions Ashla gave him have all featured only the Gupin, and Lyov makes a note to defer to Aidan's leadership as well; even though it goes against his nature, and will be far different from how he has conducted himself in the past, Lyov has the sense that another reason his visions have only shown him the Gupin is to underscore his importance in what is to come. Bria seems watchful to Lyov, perhaps even cautious, which he can easily understand, while Veda appears more open and displays more respect than the reserve Bria and Aidan display. Saoirse, as respectful as Veda in her greeting, seems restless to Lyov, though, as he uses only his eyes for observation rather than using Ashla's gifts to add what they might, he cannot discern whether that is due to impatience or a mere excess of youthful energy.
Inclining his head in lieu of a bow after Saoirse's contribution to the introductions, Lyov completes them by introducing himself, "Lyov Entin, giving no rank or title as he has none to give as far as he is concerned. Motioning towards a circular group of lounges arranged around a small table, Lyov invites the Jedi students, Sit, adding, if you like, to make what may have sounded like an instruction into a request, and after seating himself comfortably, looks to Aidan as he asks, What is it you are investigating, and how can I help you with it?"
Cringing slightly when Lyov speaks his name aloud as though anticipating it will summon forth Atlantis and the other Councilors even though he knows he has, if not their approval, at least their tolerance of his decision to consult Lyov, Aidan flaps his wings to perch himself on the back of the lounge facing the one Lyov sat down on, waiting until his companions have all done the same - with Bria and Veda electing to sit on either side of him - before explaining, his tone less dramatic than usual for once, "I have been tasked with tracking down an art thief that stole a mask I believe may be more than it appears to be, and may be only one piece of a larger picture. I understand that you were a collector of artifacts of . . . a certain nature, sir, and was hoping you would be willing to have a look at some holopictures of the mask and share your thoughts. When Lyov replies with a silent nod, Aidan turns towards Saoirse and holds out a three fingered hand as, regaining his dramatic tone once more, he says, Initiate Beirne, the fiend Lavigne's datapad, if you please."

When Lyov, finally giving Saoirse something to think of him as other than nameless guy, tells them they can sit Saoirse sits on the arm of the couch that Aidan and his friends choose so that they are all facing Lyov. Saoirse finds it difficult to get a read on Lyov, who has been polite but not really demonstrative enough in either his mannerisms or facial expressions that she can get any indication of what he is thinking or feeling.
Aidan's explanation of why they're here is a little less hammy than the one she got, but by the time he asks her for the datapad seems to be relaxing enough that the dramatic flair is starting to come back into the way he expresses himself. Since she hadn't been asked, at least that she can remember, to bring the datapad and hadn't though to do so, her first response to being asked to produce it is to ask with a sheepish grin, "Was I supposed to bring that? Sorry, she says as she gets up to go and get the datapad, I'll be right back," and then starts making her way to the doors leading outside after putting the rocks she picked up earlier into her pockets.
Remembering that she can just go upstairs, Saoirse turns back around and jogs up the stairs to her room. As she is jogging back down the stairs once she has the datapad, Saoirse powers it on and brings up the images of the mask they had found to try and make up for not thinking to bring the datapad. Handing Lavigne's datapad to Aidan, Saoirse tells him, "Sorry about that," and then sits back down on the arm of the couch after taking one of the rocks from her pocket and passing it from hand to hand or bouncing it up and down in her palm while waiting for Aidan to get things back on track again.

After Saoirse scampers off to get the datapad he supposes he really should have told her to bring, Aidan, looking mildly embarrassed, tells Lyov, "Sorry sir," and then, without the scripted version of this encounter he had formulated and now belatedly realizes he was too reliant on following, begins twiddling his thumbs as they wait for Saoirse to return.
Lyov, managing not to smile as Bria and Veda, still following Aidan's lead, both find themselves suddenly interested in studying the decor of the communal lounge or, in Bria's case, her fingernails, chooses not to disturb them and sits calmly and silently waiting for Saoirse along with them so that, when she returns it is to utter silence.
Accepting the datapad from Saoirse, so glad to be getting back on his script that he doesn't even chastise her for not having anticipating its need, Aidan flaps his wings and flies over to hand the datapad to Lyov after seeing that Saoirse has brought the images of the mask up already, explaining, "This is the mask that Lavigne stole and has delivered to an unknown buyer that no doubt intends to use the mask for some sinister purpose. Flapping his wings to return to his perch on the back of the couch facing Lyov, the Gupin goes on, With your expertise in, he clears his throat, artifacts of a certain nature, I am hoping you will be able to identify the origins of the mask, which may, in turn, reveal the nature of the dastardly plot I believe it plays a part in."
Lyov, the datapad in one hand and his chin resting on the knuckles of the other, nods before taking a slow breath and looking at the first image of the mask, the object his visions had not revealed to him while only hinting at its significance in the events to come. The plain white mask, which could be either a stylistic rendition of a Vulptex or an Amaran, appears innocuous enough at first glance, and certainly has nothing about it suggesting an affiliation with the Dark Side, but when Lyov scrolls to an image of the back of the mask and sees it is as featureless as the front save for a small blue symbol, a square within a square with four half circles in the corners of the interior square, he feels a chill run down his spine and knows the Gupin's instincts, or imagination, have served him well. Betraying no outward sign that he has been disturbed by the mask or the symbol on the back of it, Lyov scrolls though a few more images while pondering the possible significance of the symbol and how much to reveal he knows about it, if anything at all.
Deciding to play his cards close to the vest until he knows more, the symbol could be a coincidence with the danger the visions from Ashla warning him of some threat other than the one he fears the symbol has revealed may be involved, Lyov rests the datapad on his knee and asks, "Have you learned anything that brings you closer to identifying the buyer?"
Aidan, scratching his right ear, looks over at Saoirse as he says, "Ah, well, Initiate Beirne, who is skilled in slicing and that kind of thing, was able to find an encrypted message Lavigne sent that we believe was received by the buyer, and then, throwing her under the proverbial hoverbus once more, asks her in a hopeful tone, I don't suppose you had a chance to learn anything more about who it was sent to?"

Saoirse catches the rock she had been tossing from hand to hand and clenches it in her fist when Aidan asks her if she had been able to to figure anything else out from the holonet message that Lavigne had presumably sent to the buyer of the mask, which they had already established was not possible when Aidan had brought her Lavigne's datapad. Forcing a smile and reminding herself that she hadn't gone into much detail, which may have given Aidan the idea that she could try other things to trace the recipient, Saoirse says, "Um, no, Aidan, I don't think there is anything else to try. The recipient was using a virtual private network, and they don't keep records of their client's IP addresses. The recipient of the holonet message was careful, and cautious, but the message is a dead end."
Deciding to get things going along faster, Saoirse tells Lyov, "Aidan was hoping you had some contacts from before that might be able to help us track Lavigne down, sir. If he's gone to ground, is there anyone you know of that might be able to suggest places he might be holing up?"

Aidan, sheepishly smiling when Saoirse reminds him that she had already answered the question about the holonet message, nods enthusiastically even though she has stolen his next line by telling Lyov about the plan to see if he has any old contacts they might reach out to in order to pick up Lavigne's scent, unable to resist correcting the Zabrak just slightly as he waves a hand to include himself and his friends as he tells Lyov, "We were hoping, sir, one of your former . . . associates was the sort to have a proverbial ear to the ground that we could visit and inquire into any rumblings they may heard about where the fiend Lavigne has holed up. There is, he explains, recovering more of his dramatic flair the longer he speaks, no records we, the UPD or the UDF have found that suggest Lavigne has gone offworld, and I believe that it is possible he may have even joined forces with the sinister cabal that is no doubt behind the dastardly plot the mask no doubt plays a central role in."
Lyov merely nods silently at first, outwardly calm and relaxed even though what the Gupin and his companions ask is not so simple a thing as it undoubtedly seems to them. One part of his hesitance, Lyov knows, stems from what he has seen in his visions of the possible dangers they will all face should he agree to join them in their investigation; for he could not let them go and face the dangers alone when they are all less experienced than he is when it comes to the perils that may come from delving into the matter of the stolen mask. Another, more personal reason for his hesitation is the fact that it will be the first time in years that Lyov has left the safety of the academy where he has been granted the opportunity to learn and grown in an environment free from the temptations as well as the dangers that may await him and the Jedi learners when they venture from it.
After the moment spent collecting his thoughts and reminding himself of the holocron gatekeeper's lessons about fear, Lyov says, "I can think of one individual that might be able to help us, adding himself to the list of investigators to make it clear he will accompany them as well, if they are willing." Lyov, who never met any of the organized criminals that played their roles in his conspiracy as Helaine had always acted as his intermediary so that his own hands remained clean, cannot be sure that the Weequay, Arezou, is still in a position of power within the organization she assumed control of, nor he be sure that she can be persuaded to help them any more than he can be sure that she has access to any information or sources that might lead them to Lavigne.
Standing and motioning towards the doors leading onto the academy grounds, his eyes momentarily flickering to the shelf over the dresser in his quarters where the holocron sits as though he takes some comfort in knowing the gatekeeper will be here to consult with when he returns, Lyov says, "Shall we go and pay my old colleague a visit?" There is no point in delaying, and Lyov has the sudden feeling that they must move quickly now if they are to stop what may come if they fail to thwart the plans of whoever is behind the theft of the mask.
