11. Jungle Boogie
The Massassi Arena, located on Yavin 4, was once a great fighting arena created by the Massassi people. The Arena was multi-leveled stone structure, with boxes on the top level at its east and west. A pyramidal altar was to its north, and a gate to its south. Prior to the Battle of Yavin, the arena was captured from the Rebel Alliance by a force of Imperial stormtroopers, who converted it into a monitoring outpost.
As an ancient ruin, and the skilled craftsmanship notwithstanding, the mortar in a lot of the stone structures has long since crumbled to dust. Several of the mighty blocks used in the construction have been shaken loose by the elements and now litter the sand floor, creating cover behind which one could hide, or weapon for which one with the strength could utilise. There are several opportunities one could find for our duelists being there, from the battle in canon to a non-canon specific.
Our duelists find themselves approaching from opposite sides of the ruins, catching sight of each other as they step though an arch and onto the top tiers. The jungles teem all around them with the echoing calls of its wildlife and the blazing red orb of Yavin can be seen smoldering over the green canopy...

Fel was on the job, having been sent (against his will) to this place to meet an Imperial operative for the coordinates to his next intel gig. What he wanted was to get back to his crew. Back to her. He wore his currently-standard field outfit, consisting of the mil-spec surplus Imperial Stormtrooper Mk1 breastplate, shoulder /arm plating, and thigh plates, with his own personal gunbelt and non-standard field kit, consisting of Blas-Tech DL-22 pistol, Scout Trooper holdout blaster, and (slung across his back) a T-21 light repeater. This was supposed to be a civil meeting, an exchange of information, but in light of recent events, Fel wasn't trusting anyone. He walked into the ruin openly, not trying to conceal himself, his presence, or his intentions (which were businesslike and to-the-point. He was on borrowed time, and every interaction lately had been stripped down to the bare essentials.)
He scanned the extent of the arena, seeing nothing, and sat on the remains of a massive block to await his contact.

Unfortunately for the indentured stormtrooper, the person who arrived next was not his contact. Instead, it was a young-looking firrerreo whose gold and silver skin was clad primarily in leather, with a lightsaber that sat snugly in a holster on her hip. Apart from that, she was unarmored and without further armament, though the simple fact that she carried a lightsaber was strong evidence that she was also trained in the force. Her demeanor was cheerful as she very nearly hopped up the steps to the arena, then descended the other side whilst marveling at the beauty that surrounded her. This place may have once been enthralled by the dark side, but beautiful, vibrant life had long ago reclaimed it. Her spirits were high and she was fairly certain that even her reason for being there could not dampen them. But I guess I've been wrong before... I really hope I'm not though. Such a beautiful place should never be tainted with violence.
She ran her hand along what remained of a low wall as she made her way to the center of the arena, where she found the reason she was here seated on a large stone slab. The markings on his armor, as well as the armor itself, were a dead giveaway. "Hello there!" She waved as she approached. "My name is Anya. It's a beautiful day for a stroll, don't you think?" Her head quirked at an angle as she glanced around at the surrounding masonry and foliage, then her eyes returned to the armored man. "It's a terrible shame to have to spoil it, but I'm afraid you need to come with me." It was pretty clear that she was not an imperial operative.

Fel watched the woman approach. Saw how she moved. Caught sight of the laser sword. He nodded a reply as she waved to him in greeting, taking in her words.
Not a bad day at all, all things considered. Come with her? No. That would not do. He cocked his head at a questioning angle at her assertion. Oh? Why would that be?

Her right hand absently moved to rest on the hilt of her weapon, though she had no intention of drawing yet unless the armored man made a move first. "It's simple really." She said, her smile still genuine and her tone no different than if she was explaining something to a friend.
"You work for the empire, and I'm fighting them. I already know who you're here to meet, and I need you to come with me and tell me who your commander is." It was almost as if the concept of operational security was completely foreign to her. That, or she was so confident that she could bring him in that she didn't see the harm in divulging her reasons for the necessity of apprehending him. It was difficult to tell. "Then you'll be placed in a confinement facility where you can get medical treatment for your illness." Perhaps it was simply the way he moved, or maybe it was her intimate connection to the living force, but for whatever reason it was painfully obvious to her that the man before her was sick, and not getting any better.
"I'm sorry about that, by the way." Her expression now had turned to one of genuine regret. "I would offer to help myself, but healing has never been one of my strong points." A shrug. "I just never really needed it, I guess." She smiled a regretful smile, perhaps wishing she would have worked on that skill more or perhaps in expectation of the violence that was likely to come, then set her feet, squared her shoulders, and looked Galdaart in the eye. Or the eyepiece at least.
"Now are you going to come with me voluntarily or do I have to arrest you?"

So much of what she said made him bristle. So much of it was wrong, or right only from the bleakest point of view. Work for the empire? Hah. Toil under the threat of the murder of his crew should he disobey -- that was more like it. Placed in a confinement facility? Treatment for the incurable? He almost didn't know where to begin... laugh, cry or laugh?
Fel swiveled to face her, sitting cross-legged on his rock.
I'm sorry ma'am. I'm afraid I'm just going to disappoint you over and over again here. If you know who I'm here to meet, then you're already one up on me. As for my employment, I'd have to contest that, too. Even if I knew who my employer is currently -- and I don't -- if I told you, then the only beings I've ever been close enough to, to call 'family' would all go to the great fire by my carelessness. I won't be accompanying you to any confinement facility... been there, got the marks to prove it... not going back. And even if I did, there's no cure for what I've got. So there's no hope of convincing me this is the best course of action. I'm sorry for your troubles, but it's best if we just went our separate ways. I got no beef with you, and though you might see otherwise, you got no beef with me.
Fel waited to see what her reaction would be, though the hand hovering near the laser-sword was not comforting.

"You are right. I have no... beef, with you." The word felt strange on her tongue, using it in that manner. She'd never really understood all the additional meanings humans tended to assign to words that already had one, but she knew enough to guess that in this case, beef actually meant quarrel. "But I can already feel the suffering caused by those you serve. Even here, on this planet teeming with life, there is an ache for those whose lives they have destroyed, and a link that has led me to you." She never specified what that link was, and she herself was not entirely sure. If she was honest, it was more of a feeling than anything, but that feeling had consistently led her to the next step in her search for those who orchestrated the evil she fought. "There is no doubt in my mind that you carry the link to the next step, regardless of the truth of your words, and I will not allow you to leave my presence until I have found that link. There is too much at stake." Her feet shifted, taking several steps toward Fel until she stood directly in front of him, then she settled again in her wide, ready-for-anything stance. "So I am coming with you."
