How to Report an Infraction
First, identify the specific rule that you feel has been violated in the "Natural Laws" forum.
Second, click on the drop down box next to the post you feel has violated the Natural Laws and click on "Report Post." Fill out the Reason section and then submit it.
Third, the Whills (site moderators), will review the infraction report and send Private messages to all parties involved with the report, informing them of either their violation or their part in the reported post.
Throughout this process, we ask that those involved in the incident being reviewed please keep contact between each other civil, as we do not want thing to escalate further than they already have. We shall give each person involved a chance to explain their side of the story. Discussion by others, and further discussion by those involved, is welcome; however, if such discussion is warranted, please try to remain civil. (Whills and PGC Councilors will monitor any discussions started for this purpose, and will take what is said into consideration). This ensures that in depth discussion can take place without burying or derailing the original arguments presented. A reminder of this request will be posted once on receiving an infraction report. After that, anyone posting in the original report topic who is not involved in the incident may be barred from posting in that forum until the case is closed.
Question - Who can I talk to about my infraction report?
Answer - Once the Whills have contacted you about the infraction report, feel free to ask them any questions pertaining to it:
If you are not involved with the reported post, please refrain from escalating things further, and possibly getting into trouble yourself. Topics that have posts that have been reported are usually under constant surveillance by the Whills. If there are any problems with any future posts, a Whill or PGC High Councilor may contact you and ask you to edit your post, so as not to continue keeping the original thread off its intended path of conversation. If you are a GBA Judge and you have genuine concerns about a reported post, you should contact your HC or one of the Whills. Any players with concerns may contact one of the Whills or HCs involved or create a companion thread in the PGC Players' Area (so they can make themselves heard without flooding the IR itself).
If you for whatever reason feel you are not getting any traction with your concerns, you are welcome to contact a Whill directly by private message.
What we ask of you
In order to report a violation of the rules report the post using the drop down box to the right of each and every post. Make sure your post contains a brief synopsis of the dispute or infraction including the time and location, the names of all those involved, what rule or rules it is you feel have been broken, and if possible links to all threads pertinent to the matter.
Do not privately message a Councilor to report a violation of the rules, you will only be wasting your time writing the message and their time reading it and replying to you to tell you to follow the proper procedure as detailed above.
Once the Whills (and possibly the HCs) have begun mediating an infraction we ask that you do not exacerbate the situation further.
Most of all we ask that you try to resolve your disputes yourselves in a friendly and mutually beneficial manner before approaching us for mediation. This RPG is meant as lighthearted entertainment, there is no cause for animosity here. The Universe is a big place there's room enough for all of us.
Punitive Measures
First Warning
Any member found to be breaking these laws may be issued a warning by the Whill Tribunal.
Second Warning and Probation
If this member persists in breaking the rules after they have been warned they will be placed on probation for two weeks. If during their probation, they are found to be breaking any laws, they will incur a penalty to be decided by the Whills depending upon the circumstances and severity of the infraction. Also during their two weeks of probation, the member's avatar will be deleted and replaced with an image informing other members that they are on probation.
Penalties
Penalties at our disposal include but are not limited to:
Deletion from any group you are a member of.
Deletion of any group you are the leader of.
Banning by email address for a set period of time.
Banning by IP address for a set period of time.
Deletion of single account.
Deletion of all accounts sharing the same IP address and barring of creation of new accounts from this IP address.
What you can expect from us
In your warnings you will be provided a link to the pertinent Natural Laws thread that you are found to be in violation of as well as a link to this thread detailing our punishment procedures.
We will not engage in any argument with you. If you feel that you are being treated unfairly you have the right to appeal the decision to the Whill Council. The Whill Council is the final arbiter in all matters on this site and there is no appeals process after a decision has been made by the Whill Tribunal.
You will not be insulted by any Councilor or Whill during this process and we ask that you refrain from insulting us. If either insults you during this process you may report them and they will be reprimanded if found guilty.
We do not seek out conflicts. The only time we will interfere in a dispute is if one or all of the parties involved ask for mediation.
