And so it had come to this... Bloodshot stood scowling across the sarcophagus at his former protege, and though his expression was still concealed behind the plate of his mask, his posture clearly communicated the agitation he felt. He had known this day was coming, even planned for it to some extent, but hadn't expected it to come to a head here and now. Then again, if Drall was to return to the men with a story of Bloodshot's heroic death, they'd be much more apt to follow him than if he had staged an overt mutiny. He had to give the kid credit, he was one hell of a student.
Think this through carefully, boy. Once you make your move, there is no going back.

I already knew that. You always taught me to be precise, efficient, and most of all to be deliberate.
Taking off the sling for his rifle and pulling the slug thrower from its holster he laid them on the floor. Next he took the staff and laid it retracted on the ground beside them. Finally he drew the knife and flipped it into a reverse grip with the blade facing outward.
Alright Pops lets do this the old fashion way, just like you taught me.

There was the sound of an almost inaudible huff, filtered through Bloodshot's mask into something distinctly mechanical, then he moved. Not to drop his guns and melee weapons, no. He moved to kill. His protege had handed him an immense advantage, and he would seize it as he would any other. His draw was smooth and practiced, not a millimeter of wasted movement. His hand closed on the pistol's grip, and in the next moment it was aimed at the center of the young man's chest.
The first shot wouldn't kill him, of course, and neither would the second or third, thanks to the shielding built into the armor, but Bloodshot would have all three shots off in the space of a blink, and it was the fourth one Drall would have to worry about.

After the first round hit him and Drall's shield absorbed it he understood. Dropping to one knee the second and third round were absorbed in the same way. Snatching his rifle from the ground and taking cover behind the Sarcophagus Drall blind fired two rounds trying to picture where Blood was, then popped up to take aim and fire another three assuming Blood was still there.

The moment Drall's head dropped below the sarcophagus, Bloodshot's right boot rose and planted itself on the edge of the lid as his implants kicked into overdrive and one of the two hastily fired shots impacted his shields. The lid would be far too heavy to shift for any normal man, but this particular mercenary and his myriad upgrades packed enough power to send it careening over the far end of the sarcophagus to drop down on top of his opponent. Right after smashing into his head, of course.

He heard one shot hit his Mentor, right before the lid of the sarcophagus hit the bck of his head. Diving forward he managed to avoid being crushed. Rolling on his shoulder he came up in a kneeling position and opened fire on Bloodshot again. This time putting as many rounds downrange as he could trying to deplete the other man's shields and do some damage. He was aiming for Bloodshot's center mass and pulling the trigger as fast as he fould, which given his training was pretty damn fast.

Bloodshot didn't wait for the lid to settle as he spun and rushed away from the center of the dais, dropping off the edge as the first shot from the shatter rifle impacted on the wall in line with where his head had been the moment before. He hit the ground five meters below with a solid thud, and wasted no time moving around to the point where the stairs reached just below two meters and he could aim over them, though from this angle he could just see the top of Drallinix's helmet. Still crouched then. Taking aim at the protrusion, Bloodshot opened fire.

The minute Bloodshot took off and his round missed Drall was on the move. He rushed to the side of the sarcophagus and kneeled to retrieve his gear. Holstering his slugthrower and bending down to pick up his staff he heard a round fly just above his head. Storing the staff in its place on his belt he smirked inside the helmet and hunkered down to let his shields recharge. He held his Verpine rifle at the ready and crouched behind the sarcophagus for cover facing the stairs. He made sure to keep his head down so he didn't give Bloodshot another target.
Nice shot Dad if I hadn't been picking up my gear you might have hit me with that one.

So that's where he's hiding. Rather than give away his own position by engaging in conversation, Bloodshot backtracked to where he'd dropped off the dais, gathered his legs beneath him, and jumped. Even with his enhanced musculature, five meters straight up while wearing armor was a little beyond his capability, and two quick steps up the wall carried him the rest of the way to the top of the dais. This left Drallinix entirely exposed at his new position behind the sarcophagus, and Bloodshot trained his pistol on the other man's center mass and opened fire.

He heard the steps and was rolling over the sarcophagus when Bloodshot came over the edge. Bloodshot's rounds buried into the side of the sarcophagus and Drall took cover. Drall quickly popped up and fired a few rounds at Bloodshot's head before ducking back behind the sarcophagus for cover again.

He slipped the shots as he would a punch, juking to the side as the rifle centered its aim where his head had been, then ducked low and rushed forward as the shots split the air beside and above him. He vaulted the sarcophagus in a single leap, planting his free hand on the edge as he aimed a savage kick at Drall's head, which sat just below the edge of the cover that formerly protected him.

Drall dropped the rifle when Bloodshot began to rush him. As Bloodshot vaulted over the sarcophagus Drall dodged in a very similar way that he just had. Coming up from a crouch while sidestepping to the left and brought his left arm around to catch Bloodshot by the neck and clothesline him on the Sarcophagus. Presuming his attack landed he would draw his staff and extend the end towards his opponents head.

His back hit the sarcophagus with a loud thud and his left hand came up to swipe aside the extending staff, letting it slide harmlessly by to drive into the empty tomb behind his head. Had his armor been conductive, the electricity discharge function would have been problematic, but as it was he felt nothing more than a distant tingling in his fingers. Immediately following this, his left hand reached up and inside the arm that held the staff to grip the back of his protege's neck, holding him in place while his right hand swam up inside the arm on his neck to plant his pistol on the juncture between Drallinix's chin and neck. Not only was the area under the chin devoid of the hardened plating that would have a chance of stopping the slug, but pressing the barrel against the body glove would allow the weapon to entirely bypass whatever shields he had left as Bloodshot squeezed the trigger.

Since his right arm was pinned by Bloodshot's left Drall intercepted the pistol hand by grabbing it as Bloodshot attempted to bring it up. He shoved the pistol to the side and underneath his right arm with the muzzle pointed at the ground. Drall used his leverage and body weight to hold the arm in place with his left, his shields absorbing whatever unlikely shot bloodshot would have gotten off before he did. Now that he had stopped that he retracted the staff and turned it sideways. He attempted to slam the collapsed staff into Bloodshot's exposed neck like a baton. This action was assisted by Bloodshot pulling his neck downwards in his attempt to hold him. If the initial impact wasn't enough he would drive forward attempting to choke his old mentor to death.

Unfortunately for Drallinix, Bloodshot's implants made him the stronger of the two by a wide margin, and powering through and against the grab to place his pistol where he originally intended and continue his attack was not beyond the range of his capabilities. So that was precisely what he did.

As he failed to overpower him, Bloodshot placed the pistol to his neck and fired. Drall felt the round tear through his jugular and blood sprayed out of his neck and leaked from his mouth. In one last effort he threw himself downward intendind to headbutt Bloodshot, the attack had no chance of killing the man, but it was done out of spite and defiance.

No real need for judging here. Bloodshot wins.
