Hey y'all, this thread will be used for the planning of story arcs in the Shards of Alderaan closed RP. Have questions about what this RP is about or where to find more information? Check out this thread. Also, please read the second post of this thread for information on submitting an RP idea. This post will be updated in the future to reflect changes or additions to the story. Prologue: The Shard of AlderaanIn our prologue, the Sith Lords Archais and Kruor and Jedi Knight Altus Dux discover the Shard of Alderaan, a powerful artifact that is a crytallized form of the life force of all the residents of Alderaan killed when the planet was destroyed in canon. The crystal is capable of incredible destruction, and the Sith use it as a rallying point for other darksiders/nasty folks and set upon a campaign to develop a superweapon that will ultimately threaten the known galaxy.- Subplot: After recovering the Shard, the Sith arrange a meeting of dark lords on Korriban to establish a plan for the creation of the superweapon. Meanwhile, the Jedi are called to conclave by the Jedi Altus Dux and launch an investigation into the nature of the shard and the true identity of the two Sith Lords.
Major Arc 1: Kamino
After making contact with the other Sith Lords and concocting a plan, the Sith decide that they require significant increases in their armies as well as personnel to operate their planned weapon. The group resolves to utilize the resources of the Kamino clonemasters to supply their needs. Posing as a representative of a major galactic corporation, Archais is taken to a secret facility, Verula City, and shown that it is a cloning facility of considerably potency. An infiltration team accompanies the disguised Sith, and begin a campaign of terror in the underwater city that ultimately leads to the city's defensive grid being taken down, whereupon the Sith take full control of the facility and begin the process of cloning an army. The rest of the Kamino government, seeing that their city has been taken off the communication grid, petition the Jedi for help. The Jedi send a pair of investigators who send a report to the Jedi Council, but are afterward captured and tortured. The Sith are then forced to expedite their process and are ultimately forced off the planet, but not before securing a substantial number of clones and cloning pods for future use. - Subplot: Seeking to create an elite unit of Force-users to do his bidding, Archais commissions the creation of four clones of himself that are decanted before being fully-matured, leaving the Jedi to do battle with the four as they seek to recapture the facility.

In effect, this RP will be constructed in such a way that it will consist of several (perhaps a half dozen, or more) major RP arcs that will serve as checkpoints for the story to progress. These major arcs will also try to include a majority of the characters involved in the RP as a whole, bringing multiple plot lines together and having the largest ramifications on the story and the galaxy at large. Think of these like mandatory stopping points that split the intervening material up into nice, neat pieces. In between the major RP arcs will be more minor encounters that will include fewer characters, and have lesser consequences, but that will be good opportunities for character-building and that will help set up the larger major RP arcs.
Feel free to contribute ideas, locations, and motivations for any RP in this thread! Have a planet? Try to think of something unique it offers that will make it a great RP. Try to avoid offering a planet up as a location for just a huge battle - we can have battles anywhere! Instead, think of what your/a planet offers that makes it a unique place. For example - the planet Kashyyyk offers some of the greatest computer processing facilities in the galaxy. The Sith want these processors for their ships, so they launch plan to take over a few of them. The Jedi catch wind, and eventually a battle breaks out as the two sides meet. This will help develop not only the characters involved, but also the planets we visit!
As far as story material, keep in mind that a major plot point will be the relative scarcity of the materials needed to build a superweapon - therefore, the Sith will be trying to target a way to raise an army, facilities for building something as large as a superweapon, and all the materials needed to basically make war on the galaxy. The Jedi will initially be taking an investigative type role, only discovering the true magnitude of the plot after the first major arc or two. Ergo, the Jedi will know SOMETHING is up, but the true horror of "they're building a superweapon and are banding together!" won't be revealed until much later. Suspense!
So! If you have an idea for an RP, pitch it forward. Please don't just post "I control [Coruscant] and would like an RP there." That tells us nothing - tell us what makes your planet special and that would encourage either group IC to go there for some reason. What have you done to the planet in-character to modify its canon nature? On the flipside, suggest locations to go with your RP idea. Don't just say you want a train heist - tell us where it might/can happen! Let's collaborate!

Alright, so the first major arc of the RP (chapter 1, as it were) is planned to be the Kamino cloning facility RP. This RP was done in the first iteration of the big campaign and turned out great despite never being finished, so we'd like to see it through to the end.
The basic idea is that the Sith/bad guy 'alliance' formed around the Shard is in dire need of personnel, both for warships and ultimately to construct/crew the superweapon. Consequently, they contact the Kaminoans about cloning an army relatively on the fly to be told of a secretive and high-tech cloning facility that exists underwater and otherwise isn't publicized much (and available only to 'premium buyers' so some forgery will be needed tying us to some major corporation or something). One or two Sith (myself and one other, perhaps) go to the facility posing as delegates of said corporation and have a small strike team of perhaps a half-dozen tag along on the outside of the submersible that takes us there. Over the next few days, the sabotage team slowly takes down the capabilities of the cloning city while the two fake negotiators do what they can to sow chaos, and ultimately the eight succeed in bringing the city to heel. Over the next month, a clone army is grown and the Sith think they've got all the time in the world. Little do they know that eventually, the Kaminoans realize their city has gone dark and petition the Jedi to investigate. A few sneak in, scope out the situation, and get a message to the order before they are captured and interrogated. Cue the race against the clock as the Sith try to move the cloning tanks/clones off-world before the Jedi arrive, culminating in the big final battle that sees the Sith presence on the world scattered while the Sith do make off with a good, but far smaller than they expected, number of clones.
Thoughts, improvements, other ideas?

The prologue RP is wrapping up (to be followed by the meeting of both the Jedi and Sith sides) so time to start laying out a concrete plan for the first major RP arc: Kamino. I'll detail the general plan in the top post but any sub-plots or other events folks are after, feel free to post on here.

Major Arc 2 : The Train Heist : Onderon
In this fun filled and fast paced RP, Kel Sentriss and his team of ne'er do wells, plan and execute a daring raid on Onderon. The target is a large industrial maglev train, built by the Mandalorians to move heavy equipment, military forces, and raw materials, as well as other construction and fabrication materiel quickly and efficiently across the planet. The track criscrosses the planet, linking cities, and military sites, and the trains can stretch for kilometers. You can see where this is going, the scope for involvement of multiple parties is huge.
Organizing the defence, and responding to the Sith attack will be a group of Mandalorians led by Kaine Australis. They will attempt to repel the Sith, and to prevent them from seizing their objective; a large shipment of Beskar, the tough, valuable, metal mined and extraced only on Mandalore. To make things even more interesting, the plan calls for visions in the Force to be had by several Jedi of "Sith gaining great strength on Onderon"; and thus it is expected that the Jedi will arrive, and eventually try and prevent the Sith from absconding with any beskar.

^ I like this. I'll do a little formatting and add it to the list. Do we want to roll with this as the 2nd major arc or can we think of anything in the interim that would go better?
Additionally, is there something we can do to get the Jedi involved that's got a little more meat to it than "Force vision?" Maybe the Jedi set the thing up in the first place, or at least leak the intelligence about it to lure the Sith out?

I mean... I could just be in the bar car of the train... that'd get involved pretty quick.. it could be an industrial package hidden as a passenger train, have a few jedi just happen to be on it.

I think having it as the second arc would work perfectly after Kamino. And as for the Jedi working into the second arc, I think those that were involved in the first arc could return to the NPC/PC Jedi Council and say that the Sith are starting to get a little worked up and doing something insidious. So they work through friendly Mando contacts to set up this lovely little trap, purposefully leak the intelligence to garner the Sith's interest, and we've got some Jolly Co-Operation* (See Below.) going on before you know it. Now, granted this is rough, but I think it could work to connect the two arcs.

I think I mentioned it somewhere before, the order of Kiffar Guardians on the planet Kiffu are lightsiders, and friendly with Kaine. It's concievable that they could be a link between Aerandir's Jedi posse and Kaine's mando scruffbags.

Alrighty, the Sith side is concluding their meeting and so we're ready to start rolling on the Kamino RP! Here's an approximate layout:
Phase 1: The Sith pose as a high-end corporation needing a high-volume order of capable clones, prepared in a short amount of time. After some brief negotiation, the Kaminoans reveal the existence of Verula City, an underwater cloning facility used for premium clients and capable of fulfilling our needs IC. Kel, posing as a negotiator for said corporation, is taken to Verula on a tour and accompanied in secret by the infiltration team, who sneak their way into the city via magnetic attachment to the submersible or something. Over the next few days IC, the infiltration team commits various instances of sabotage on the city, first taking out the city's submersibles, then communications, and finally the city's defensive grid. Meanwhile Kel will be working from the inside to subvert the authority of the city's overseer, and upon deactivation of the city's defense grid will kill the overseer paving the way for the meat of the Sith forces to arrive, leading to...
Phase 2: The Sith arrive via dropship provided by Bloodrage, and a pacification team sweeps through the city eliminating all non-essential personnel. Once the city is controlled, the Sith begin the process of initiating the cloning procedures, which will be overseen by Stormro. Basically this is our chance to do some side-stuff as this will largely be our "down time" as we let the cloning procedure do its thing. As a subplot, Kel will commission four clones of himself in secret that are to act as his operatives and body-doubles. Ultimately, the Jedi will learn of the situation at Verula, sending a pair of Jedi infiltrators to assess the situation. The Jedi will be captured after reporting back to the Jedi, whereupon a brief interrogation/torture scenario will go down, which the Jedi ultimately escape from. Having gotten word out, the Jedi will mass for the attack culminating in...
Phase 3: The Jedi arrive en masse at the station, launching a pitched battle for the facility that the Sith quickly find themselves outnumbered in and needing to bail out of (in part to secure their investment of clones). As a buying-time move, Kel orders the decanting of his four clones, and the early decanting results in them being more or less insane, leaving the Jedi to fight four insane Sith Lord clones while Kel and friends make good their escape off the planet, setting a destruction charge behind them. The Jedi defeat the clones and escape the city just as the reactor goes critical, destroying Verula City and leaving the Jedi to figure out the Sith group's next move.
What we need from folks now are two things: Subplots for inclusion and a roster of who's in. Subplots can be pretty much anything that doesn't interfere with the main story but that adds to it - maybe your character has their own agenda here, maybe you want to duel someone, maybe something else. Post your ideas up! As far as the roster goes, here's what's taken and what we'll need:
Leader of Infiltration Team: Kel Sentries Infiltration Team (Max 2 PCs): Pacification Team (No limit) Sith Clonemaster: Stevan Stormro
Jedi infiltrators (Max 2 PCs): Jedi Assault Team (no limit):
Please consider carefully the role you would like to pick as much will be based on availability. You can only post once every three days? Maybe consider a more back-seat type role so that we can have you involved but without having to slow the pace of the RP down. I should point out that this will still be a longer-term thing, probably taking several weeks, so there will be roles for anyone interested and by all means, feel free to pitch role ideas out if it sounds like it's needed/it's unique enough to warrant specific allocation for.
Otherwise, who's got ideas?

As a sub-plot Stormro is going to want to try and make off with a cloning pod of his own for his own purposes during the third phase. I could very much see this taking the form of him being one of the last ones out, ostensibly to ensure that everything they needed is taken with them and nothing incriminating is left behind, but in fact he is just stealing a pod for himself with the aid of the local workers and droids. This could also potentially result in him ending up fighting a Jedi as a result of his lingering.

My Pirates will mainly be there to crew the Mon Cal ship being used being used by the pacification team and guard it as an escape route. If it's decided we'll need a bigger ship then I'll have to modify a dropship for underwater operation but I think 40 Troopers could fit in the cargo bay for the short journey. Any other PCs joining can be accommodated in the cabins.
As a constant sub-plot for anything I'm involved in, The Pirates will be trying to steal everything and anything they can get away with. This may involve them leaving their posts to grab some loot etc.

I could have Atia in on the infiltration team, her and a couple of her Banshees (whom are trained by default with Stealth belts).
Spreading chaos and attrition is their speciality.
plus, the cover corporation could be the actual corporation of Juvex Import Exports.

Sorry Sel, Kru beat you to the punch on the infiltration team. That said, if you really want to join in we can roll with three PCs on the team. Let me know in the next 24 hours if you want to join in that part still - otherwise plenty of room on the reinforcements roster.
