Reign and Darth Belial like this

Alrighty, so the Jedi/good guys made their planning thread so I guess it's our turn. This thread will be used to communicate to RPers writing for the "bad guys," where our IC motivation is to construct a superweapon around an artifact called the Shard of Alderaan. As it stands, your RP coordinators (go-to folks if you have questions, concerns, or RP ideas) are myself and Darth Belial. Feel free to hit either of us up in this thread or via PM for anything RP-related.
So first thing's first - getting everybody on the same page in-character. For all intents and purposes, how we do this doesn't matter a whole bunch but if you're a stickler for continuity and can obviously be challenging. For this I offer a tiered system of involvement that anyone can choose, and can swap to and from as we go along if that becomes an issue. I think it'd be wise to go as such:
Now, a couple things to discuss. Yes, betrayal and other sorts of infighting are typical of Sith/darkside-oriented characters, and there's absolutely a place for that in this RP, but if and only if it is discussed beforehand. I have seen way too many RPs fall apart because people took that mentality OOC and acted like dickheads instead of collaborative writers out to have fun with others. I want to make it clear that there will be a zero-tolerance policy on any unplanned aggression or other such debauchery in this RP, and that goes equally for all involved. Want to be the ultimate traitor and throw your comrades to the wolves? Great! But we need to work it into the overall plan and not just bone people on the fly because it's convenient. I really don't want to have to enforce this rule, but I similarly don't want other writers to feel like they're writing with people who don't know the difference between in-character and out-of-character stuff. This is all I hope to have to say on this.
With that out of the way, let's get to the fun stuff.
HOW DO I GET INVOLVED?
We've come up with two ways for a character to get the word in-character:
Way 1.) Your character is targeted by an assassin because you are a notorious bad guy and my character (Darth Archais) sends an assassin after you as a test. If you survive (which, conveniently, you do) you find a hologram emitter which plays a message detailing a meeting at Korriban where we will effectively have a summit of powerful dark lords, criminals, and other do-badders, and you're invited!
Way 2.) The Shard of Alderaan is basically the crystallized concentration of all the life force of the victims of the destruction of Alderaan in canon. This makes it a powerful darkside nexus, and we can say your Force-sensitive character is drawn to it, whereupon you meet with the rest of us, and we're good to go.
If you have another idea on getting involved in-character, please share! Otherwise, this thread will be for general communication and other stuff like that. Let's have some fun, and get ready to do some Sithly stuff.
- CORE GROUP: This is the group who are either directly involved with the use of the Shard and are those Sith (or otherwise-oriented) guys whose main goal is galactic conquest and destruction of the Jedi. These characters will be the ones who are in it for the parochial reasons - they have set aside material wealth and instead purely exist for the goal of advancing the agenda of the dark side. This may sound cheesy, but a lot of the associated RPing will inolve characters committed to a cause like this. These characters are unshakably loyal to the cause and would follow others of the core group into certain death.
- SECONDARY GROUP: This is those darksiders (or again, otherwise-oriented) who see this as a situation to be exploited - I.E., where there's conflict there's the chance for personal gain. Jedi destruction is still a goal, but more a by-product of you being awesome, dig? These character's don't necessarily give a toss about the main goals of the core group, but do want some of the same things. These characters are by and large loyal, but if a significant chance for personal gain presented itself could be persuade to change sides or splinter into their own thing.
- TERTIARY GROUP: These are those mercenaries or hired guns who are only as loyal as their next paycheck or those of flimsy allegiance who couldn't care less what the core and secondary group are after, but rather are either too erratic or too independent to bolt themselves down. Probably unwilling to risk their own skin, but that can vary on a character-to-character level.
- QUATERNARY GROUP: These are those "sidebar" characters who are maybe hired for one-off jobs or who come into the group through intermediaries - maybe you're a smuggler, or an arms dealer, or a planetary official who was paid to look the other way. This is the group for you if you're looking for some minor involvement with the RP.
