For those of you who have seen it, how did you feel about it? If the poll answers are not enough, they never are, please post your spoiler free reviews below so that others can judge for themselves whether to see it or not.
I have seen it twice already and i really liked it. It was much better the second time, i picked up on a couple of things i missed first time around and i forgave it for a few things that pissed me off the first time.
So, what do you think?

My overall reaction...
Meh.
It felt uninspired, insulting, and while the cinematography and action sequences were well done it just utterly failed to give me any of the warm fuzzy feelings that I experience every time I watch ANY of the other six films, including the prequilogy. I felt like it lacked the proper heart/soul that makes Star Wars great, and instead I just got the feeling of lazy, rehashed, risk-free cash-in. It had a lot of potential but, in the end, it failed to deliver, at least for me.
The pacing was also waaaaaay too fast...>.>

Considering my least favorite star wars films are all the beginning of their trilogy ones, Phantom Menace and New Hope, this one was actually refreshingly fast in my opinion for the movie that has to lay out the base for the next ones...that being said they didn't do a great job of it. They waste too much time with the head nods, this old character and that old ship, everything felt too familiar because they don't throw any shockers into the mix save for our new antagonists. Everything else has been seen and done before. I didn't feel like they gave us a good look at the state of the galaxy. How large the conflict between the new factions is, or how strong either side is. For example, by every rite the First Order is a much nastier and stronger version of the Empire. Very small and elite kind of danger. Yet only one protagonist, the one who escapes their clutches, has any respect for the damage they can do or fear they inspire.
That being said I liked it. I felt like it kept the spirit of the originals at heart. Action was drastically improved as far as the troop fighting. I hope they channel a little more prequel choreography into the lightsaber fights in the coming movies. It just felt like there was a fanboy behind the camera trying to photobomb his own shots with nostalgia loaded into every clip, and thats coming from someone who LOVES STAR WARS hahahaha.

Much like the above reviews I also had the meh.
I felt like I managed to avoid much of the hype movies like this have. I did my best not to speculate or form preconceived opinions until I saw it. From the general population I saw only ONE negative reaction and that was from a fellow nerd like us.
The film itself was to much of a nostalgia bomb and it relied far to heavily on our knowledge of the original 6 movies. Every few minutes, particularly in the first half of the film there is some sort of nod to the originals. Looking back on it now, about 12 hours after my first viewing I see it played out exactly like ANH with a smattering of ESB and ROTJ. All the major characters are filled, from the wizened old mentor to the farm boy who gets forced into this great amazing role. Exact scenes are re skinned, however they are far prettier and better than they ever could be in the 70s.
The world building, or galaxy building was in my opinion under done. The film takes place 30 years after ROTJ and the Republic as risen, but so has the First Order. How long ago did the First Order rise? Who is the resistance? Is it a third party? Is it the New Republic? The way its played is that these are two separate entities but if so why is there any need for a resistance? Why not pitch the might of the New Republic that has had THIRTY GOD DAMN YEARS to grow against the First Order.
This said I also liked the movie as much as the next guy. I am overly critical but for all of its faults it is an enjoyable movie that is worth seeing more than once. If I have only one request, it is that they give us more insight into the First Order, and galaxy at large. How large is it? How did it manage to become the powerhouse it is? Things like that.

Some of your questions Xeo, can and will be answered by going to Star Wars Databank. It's all Spoiler free information, so don't worry - No spoilers (Even though you've already seen the movie, it's for anyone else that decides to read this post.) However, that brings up a fault we both share in regards to the movie. They did it outside the movie, when it should've been done either in passing near the exposition, or something of the like. They expected each and every single one of us to be devouring the shitty book Aftermath, and trolling every single forum in the hopes of finding information about the movie.
Now when it comes to the movie itself, I'm going to say that I loved it - easter eggs and recycled plot and all. The reason being, is because I believe they couldn't have done the First of the trilogy any other way. While I would've loved for them to do something ala Heir to the Empire, but look and see how well that worked for Game of Thrones. The first season was literally a play by play from the first book. Boring to anyone whose read it, but enticing to anyone who hasn't. That's where I believe Disney made the right choice making it Legends Canon, rather than keeping it as the EU. (Another thing is that the Legends bit? Whose to say that it's not true, because it's a big galaxy and we all know how legends spread.) Therefore, leading me back towards my point. The Force Awakens couldn't have happened any other way, because it needed to get all that nostalgia over and done with straight out of the gate for the older fans, so it can open the door for a brand new story in Episode VIII.
A passing of the reins, if you will. Rather than presenting you with a different horse entirely.

My vote was "I had a good feeling about it." I'm still not done digesting it, and I feel like it might be worth at least one more viewing before deciding whether or not I like it as much as either Episode IV or V. It sure as hell doesn't touch Return of the Jedi for me, but it was still pretty good. There was one scene in the first half taking place on a ship that didn't feel like Star Wars at all, more like generic sci-fi, but the rest of it had a good feeling to me and I quite enjoyed it. I do, however, feel that others are right in that the film doesn't contain itself well enough; the benefit of both previous trilogies was that you could understand them just fine no matter which one you watched, without needing to see the other. The Force Awakens, on the other hand, felt a little too built on the OT lore, requiring you to have understood the original before you can fully get what's going on here. And there's the aforementioned First Order issues...
But otherwise, solid film.

I really enjoyed it, thought it was amazing in fact. I avoided all reviews etc to form a non biased opinion and even surprised myself with how much I enjoyed it, and to let you all in on a secret known only to 2 others in my life, I actually cried at the first glimpse of the falcon....
