Profiles, weapons armor & gear:
Scáileanna na Iarndóideanna ~ Shadows of the Iron Fists (SI): The SI is the secret service wing of the IF. Four figures form the heart of the SI. In appearance they clash to an extreme but with all physical and mental differences aside these men are creatures of the same species. They are ruthless, calculated, cold-blooded murderers one and all.
Profiles of SI Leaders: The Big Four
Field Marshall Michael Collins: (Scáil an Bháis ~ Shadow of Death) At 6’4” and 240lbs of pounds of solid flesh, Collins presents an imposing figure. Yet he is handsome and charming. All this added to his explosive temper gives off the false impression of a brute having little more than an average intelligence. Collins is meticulous and highly proficient in his duty. He is a natural leader and inspires great loyalty. Collins history is a winding road start to present. Although born into a titled family among the “bog-siders”, a people who farmed the peat heavy bayou in the home system of the Gaels, Collins as all worked hard hours from an early age. His great inherent strength developed further in this condition. The observation of Collins Force sensitivity inspired an Elder to teach him from a young age. As he reached the place of Lord his teacher was killed in an invasion trend by outsiders. Here Collins made a shocking move, joining the invaders and receiving special-forces training he was placed in an administrative position. He remained, quietly collecting information and transferring it to An Tiarna. An Tiarna titled Collins Scáil an Bháis ~ Shadow of Death. None knew who the man was but the title became legendary. Collins took on the role of assassin of high level enemy figures and covert operators. Hence began Scáileanna na Iarndóideanna ~ Shadows of the Iron Fists. As the invaders were at last beaten back and the infighting began Collins swore absolute devotion to An Tiarna after his blasting denunciation of the internal strife.
General Harry Boland: 5’11” with a wiry 185lbs frame is neither as dashing as Collins nor crude as Breen but rides that space so forgetful half way between. And this demeanor is much to his favor as he is rarely remembered. His execution of assignments is brutal, swift and professional. Boland’s habit of shifting wide eyes gives off the impression of fear and worry. In reality Boland is only highly self-conscious in the false message this conveys. Hence those who bring this tendency into the open rarely live very long. Trained side by side with Collins an unbreakable bond between them grew. When Collins took to working as an agent inside enemy forces Boland was one of but a scarce number in the know. He in fact was the receiver of information stolen by Collins. When the call came from An Tiarna for Collins to begin terminating enemies from the inside Boland played a key role. Enter Boland into Scáileanna na Iarndóideanna ~ Shadows of the Iron Fists.
General Joe Cahill: Cahill at but 5’8” and 165lbs is neither bulky nor thin. He speaks bluntly yet in a quiet tone slowly thinking before responding. He is exceptionally broad across the shoulders, with strikingly long arms and a strong hand. None who met eye to eye with Cahill ever forget. Few recall anything about him save the chance glance at the brutal glare riding down his broad nose, shadowed beneath his cap… when he sets the hat down none live to tell the tale. Cahill presents an extraordinary character. The Cahill being a family with deep relations to the Ó Dubhín he was trained from an early age in the art of killing, including an extensive understanding of the methods of dispatching an enemy effortlessly. Being Force sensitive an Elder was sought out and Cahill trained. He was a fine student and benefited greatly. Then inspired by an abrupt surge of invasion and occupation prior to An Cogadh Mór he joined a group of Fiannóglach, training and fighting among them. A strong reputation grew as a tactician and warrior. The tales told of his exploits are now kept in the annals. During the early days of An Cogadh Mór he fought once again. Always humble if confident Cahill was honored to be approached by An Tiarna Dubh, leader of the much heard of Óglaigh na Iarndóideanna – Warriors of the Iron Fists. By tradition Cahill was obligated to follow An Tiarna as High-King of mag Carrthaigh Móir. Yet Cahill’s ultimate motivation was born of respect. He was shocked when told of the true identity of the much spoken of Scáil an Bháis ~ Shadow of Death. Indeed Cahill was at that moment involved in a plot to kill Collins as traitor. Cahill was far too wise to simply inform the group; subtly redirecting their target would be far more effective. But here Cahill also showed great wisdom, doing an extensive background check of the figures involved. Upon discovering that four were in fact traitors suspicious of Collins as Scáil an Bháis and the remaining seven willing pawns he spoke to a man: Big Dan Breen. Together they trapped and killed the lot then presented the heads to An Tiarna. There Cahill became part of Scáileanna na Iarndóideanna ~ Shadows of the Iron Fists.
General Danny Breen: Breen has at least two inches and twenty pounds on Collins but a face only a mother could love and not a drop of eloquence in his speech. He excels at his work inspiring fear in individuals and indeed his actions prove this apprehension as justified. Breen truly enjoys his work and goes about it with great enthusiasm. Perhaps the greatest advantage Breen possesses is that his appearance gives off the impression of a slow, clumsy individual; quite to the opposite he is remarkably agile and fast for a man his size. 6’6” and 260 lbs of hardened flesh is concealed beneath a standard SI uniform, with the addition of his trademark machete, Breen is awe inspiring in his white shirt and tie and a black three piece suit. Breen is one the personal enforcers of An Tiarna Dubh. Although Breen appears slow-witted and brutish, his ruthlessness, street smarts and his unwavering loyalty to An Tiarna and indeed the Dynasty as a whole makes for a most dangerous combination. His very real terrifying life history is the thing of legends. Although Breen needs to follow no man he defends the IF with heart, body and soul. Although from a family of well know devotion to the Dubh line the origin of this a Dark figure is obscure. No records of him from birth to death are to be found. All that exist are the horrifying stories of his life. Word tells that he had impregnated a young Twi’lek prostitute. Upon being informed of this Breen found her while giving birth and promptly murdered her. Breen did not stop there; he forced the midwife to hurl the child into a furnace. The nickname “The Unholy Demon” arose from this incident. Another early incident involved the killing of two henchmen hired to kill Breen. By wit he lured both out and subdued them and tied and gagged them with towels stuffed in their mouths. He then hacked one of them to pieces with a machete. When he went to finish off the other one, he found that the man had gone through a shock convulsion and choked to death on the towel. His actions with Joe Cahill too would go down as legendary but they were never identified. His unwavering loyalty to An Tiarna and the IF is also legendary. A Lord, Breen is an anomaly. He cannot be affected by Mind Trick and has an unexplainable ability to absorb attacks against him using the Force. The way he seems to evade death in the most bizarre way adds to the mystery that is Breen, a terror indeed. He became the Strong Arm of Scáileanna na Iarndóideanna ~ Shadows of the Iron Fists.
The remaining leaders SI are all well suited to the post.
As a rule Force skills used among the Gaels lean towards defensive powers, such as speed and shielding. Likewise concentration on reaching the ultimate standard in a small number of skills tends to outweigh a broad moderate knowledge.

Scáil na hOíche – The Shadows of Night (Ó Dubhín) Where humans troops are by far more effective than the Togorian is at covert operations. Still they are readily distinguishable due to the IF trademark appearance making them easily identifiable. Here the unique Ó Dubhín become crucial as experts at offensive operations behind enemy lines executing vital objectives such as long range patrolling, raids, ambushes sabotage and diversionary operation. From a family with a tradition in the art of subtle killing are among these the Ó Dubhín stand unique. Known as Scáil an Bháis ~ The Shadow of Death, they excel at capture of key personnel and assassination. Plainly as humans they are far more likely of drawing attention than the massive Togorians. Those from the Ó Dubhín line are also a fine addition to defensive operations, e.g. VIP protection, counter-insurgency, anti-terrorist tasks, etc.
All Ó Duibín possess a comprehensive knowledge of the body. Not only is unnecessary use of power disfavored among them but also great steps are taken to avoid such. The precision required to dispatch a target in a swift, quiet manner is essential. Hence, the classic kill zones about the body and indeed the best methods to strike these areas are studied intensely. The very soul of this dynasty is found in the sacred science of killing. But to accept payment to kill would be a disgrace upon the individual and as consequence the family entire. To betray the mag Carrthaigh Móir, descendante of Eoghan Mór son of Oilill Ólom of the Scept of Eibhear was simply beyond inconceivable. Ó Duibín placed only one thing higher than killing – honor.

Standard Trooper:
Togorian Regular: These are standard troopers. Of course they are equipped with the natural abilities of all Togorians. Also to accommodate the environment of Manaan naval training is included to handle sea combat. However, they lack the extensive training of the elite Marines & commando Highlander. They wear a pale burgundy standard Togorian breastplate armor plus a military belt & harness with shoulder holster.
Equipped with: - An Iarndóideanna .303; The Iron Fists .303 (IF .303) Rifle - 10 clips: 3 on the front right hip; 3 on the front left hip; 2 on the back right; 2 on the back left + 1 in the rifle - IF Pistol - 4x Thermal Detonators - 4x EMP Grenades - Cortosis Alloy Sc’rath Standard IF Field Kit:
• All IF Troopers are geared light but efficiently. They wear a military belt & harness with shoulder holster. The standard field gear, not including weapons consist of three weeks rations, 50 IF Battle Energizer (IFBE), 3 IF Death Pills (IFDP), a comlink, cartridge belt, canteen cover, mess kit & entrenching tools plus other tools including a manual lock pick gun & grappling hook. All Troopers are equipped with gas masks. Specific tools to match the intended objective are added as necessary.
• Togorian troops are distinguished by breastplate color & equipment. Gael troops tend to not use armor and appear much as An Tiarna Dubh in battle gear. All unless stated otherwise carry the standard field kit (rations, etc.)
• IF Battle Energizer (IFBE): The capsule is distributed in 50 unit containers. These are metal with a screw on cap and squeeze release button that dispenses a single capsule.
Anti detection package (ATP): anti-visual detection devices (AVDD), 4 anti-audio detection devices (AADD) and 12 ammonia tablets.
Small Weapons: The IF employs a composite bow, (i.e. made from disparate materials laminated together, applied under tension. Different materials are used in order to take advantage of the properties of each material). The traditional composite bow introduced by An Tiarna, uses horn on the belly and sinew on the back of a wooden core. Sinew and horn will store more energy than wood for the same length of bow. The main advantage of the composite bow is their combination of smaller size with high power. They are therefore much more suitable for use from horseback. The recurve bow style design where the shape curves away from the archer gives higher draw-weight in the early stages of the archer's draw, storing somewhat more total energy for a given final draw-weight. The composite bow used by a human is able to produce a draw weight of 160 lb (72.5 kg). The draw weight of those employed by Togorian Calvary is Draw weight of 320 lb (145 kg). Use of a string-bridge enhances the bows stability and trajectory.
Carbon Arrows are the IF standard as a durable, most precise and light arrow with interchangeable arrowheads. The arrow shafts are cross wrapped, less than 5/16ths of an inch in diameter. The arrowheads differ according to need but in general a four bladed broadhead is used. The inserts/outserts where the arrowhead is fastened allows for great variation. The fletching are generally natural the feathers which keep the arrow stable in the air. The nock is carefully crafted for a smooth yet highly accurate hold to the bowstring.
An Iarndóideanna .303; The Iron Fists .303 (IF .303) Rifle: The IF frequently employs a unique archaic 7.7mmx56R, or .311 inch rifle. The rifle is cheap, in terms of production and ammunition, yet a highly effective weapon that surpasses the rate of fire, piercing ability and range of most extant blaster technology.
Rifle: Weight: 4.4 kg (9.7 lbs) 5.54 kg (12.2 lb) with optic Length: 1,025 mm (40.4 in) stock extended / 840 mm (33.1 in) stock collapsed Barrel Length: 450 mm (17.7 in) Cartridge: 7.7mmx56R, or .311 inch Action: Roller Delayed Blowback Rate of Fire: 400 rounds/min Muzzle Velocity: 800 m/s (2,625 ft/s) Effective Range: 100–400 m sight adjustments Feed System: 50 round detachable box magazine (steel 260 g, double-stacked straight) Sights: Rear: rotary diopter; Front: hooded post Trigger mechanism: (0 – weapon is safe, trigger disabled mechanically) 3-position fire selector switch 1 position – single fire mode 2 position – automatic fire An additional, fourth selector setting enables a 3-round burst mode of fire Selector lever ambidextrous
The firearm is equipped with iron sights that consist of a rotary rear drum and hooded front post. The rear sight, mechanically adjustable for both windage and elevation, has an open notch used to fire up to 100 m and three apertures used for: 200, 300 and 400 m. The receiver housing has recesses that work with HK clamp adapters used to mount day or night optics.
The rifled barrel (contains 4 right-hand grooves with a 305 mm twist rate) is ended with a slotted flash/sound suppressor which can also be used as an adapter for launching rifle grenades. The barrel chamber is fluted, which assists in the initial extraction of a spent cartridge casing (since the breech is opened under very high barrel pressure).
Standard accessories supplied with the rifle include: a perforated plastic handguard, sling, cleaning kit and a speed-loading device. A 6 3/4 inch spear-point blade bayonet is mounted below the barrel. The weapon can also mount a 40 mm HK79 under-barrel grenade launcher.
The IF .303 Cartridge Specs:
0.311 in (7.9 mm) in diameter Ballistic performance: 180 gr and Smokeless powder (Velocity of 783 m/s (2570 ft/s ///Energy of 3,574 J/2,636 ft.lbf) Range: 1000 Yards Max.
• A modified shorter version of the bullet is produced for the IF Pistol: with a .4 inch (19mm) shell casing.
The standard IF .303 cartridges is high explosive/armor piercing ammunition intended to penetrate hardened armored targets such as ballistic vests, body vehicle armor, concrete and other defenses. The slug combines a tungsten carbide penetrator with an incendiary and explosive soft tip enclosed in a jacket of copper. The penetrator is a pointed mass of high-density material that is designed to retain its shape and carry the maximum possible amount of energy as deeply as possible into the target. Though designed to pierce armor it is equally useful for sniper fire and acts as exceptional regular ammunition.
• The use of smokeless powder greatly reduces detection.
o Match-grade cartridges are supplied to snipers as they heighten accuracy and range. Explosive ammunition is not used as a rule by snipers but is available.
The IF bolt action .303 Rifle: The IF bolt action .303 is a modification of the standard rifle intended for use by snipers. Although the rate of fire greatly reduced this gun is far better in terms of accuracy. The rear-locking bolt system make the initial opening much faster and easier compared to the "cock on opening" designs. Rear-mounted lugs place the operating handle much closer to the operator, over the trigger, making it quicker to operate than traditional designs. The rifle is also equipped with a detachable sheet-steel, 50-round, double-column magazine. A trained rifleman can fire 20 to 30 aimed rounds a minute. Adversaries have reported that they had encountered fully automatic guns, when in fact it was simply a group of trained riflemen armed with the bolt action .303.
Rifle Specs: Weight: 4.4 kg (9.7 lbs) 5.54 kg (12.2 lb) with optic Length: 1,025 mm (40.4 in) stock extended / 840 mm (33.1 in) stock collapsed Barrel Length: 450 mm (17.7 in) Cartridge: 7.7mmx56R, or .311 inch (Standard IF .303 Cartridge) Action: rear-locking bolt system Rate of Fire: 30 rounds/min Muzzle Velocity: 800 m/s (2,625 ft/s) Effective Range: 550 m sight adjustments Maximum Range 2000 m Feed System: 50 round detachable box magazine (steel 260 g, double-stacked straight) Sights: Sliding ramp rear sights, Fixed-post front sights, "Dial" long-range volley sights; Telescopic sights Trigger mechanism: Single shot bolt action with safety mode. *Selector lever ambidextrous The firearm is equipped with iron sights that consist of a rotary rear drum and hooded front post. The rear sight is mechanically adjustable for both windage and elevation. The receiver housing has recesses that work with HK clamp adapters used to mount day or night optics.
The Iron Fists Pistol: The Iron Fists Pistol is a semi-automatic weapon that uses toggle-lock action. After a round is fired, the barrel and toggle assembly (both locked together at this point) travel rearward due to recoil. After moving roughly one-half inch (13 mm) rearward, the toggle strikes a cam built into the frame, causing the knee joint to hinge and the toggle and breech assembly to unlock. At this point the barrel stops its rearward movement (it impacts the frame), but the toggle and breech assembly continue moving (bending the knee joint) due to momentum, extracting the spent casing from the chamber and ejecting it. The toggle and breech assembly subsequently travel forward (under spring tension) and the next round from the magazine is loaded into the chamber. The entire sequence occurs in a fraction of a second. Thus this mechanism works well for higher pressure cartridges.

These sixteen Togorian Highlanders of a most extraordinary nature are An Tiarna’s personal guard. An Tiarna’s time in Togoria led to many a friendship. One of these remarkable people supplied the genetic sample that is the foundation of the Togorians Highland Commando troops of the IF. This man, who An Tiarna called “Cat Mhór~Big Cat” became blood-brother to An Tiarna. They met during the time he frequented Togoria. They hunted and fought side by side. Indeed this was the one who would find Mórrígan Dubh in a crash and play a large role in raising her on Togoria. This unbreakable bond compelled Cat Mhór to choose four sons and a daughter and train them as Árd-Fiannóglach Togorian ~ Togorian ~ Togorian Advanced Ranger, an Advanced Recon Commando (ARC) to act as a personal guard for An Tiarna. An Tiarna informed his Togorian friend of a vision he had. These five would become the head of his Fear Faire Dubh – Black Watchmen. This further reinforced Cat Mhór’s conviction that his initial decision was right indeed preordained. He carefully selected eleven other young members from his Clan of exceptional ability and also trained them on the ARC program. They view An Tiarna as family and Mórrígan as sister.
They are impressive specimen indeed with a superior intellectual capacity. When added with their inherent physical condition they present an imposing guard. As all Togorians Highlanders, they are slightly shorter & stockier than the average Togorian. (They stand 2.0 – 2.5 meters as opposed to the average 2.5 – 3 meters in height but weigh relatively the same.) Likewise they are also stronger, faster more agile & have keener senses. They also possess the distinctive characteristic, common among mountain dwelling humanoids of a higher blood volume, (approximately 1/3). This allowed for a considerably higher tolerance of air with reduced levels of oxygen. Of note, unlike the characteristic deep grey common to Togorian Highlanders many of these individuals have unique hair color. At present 5 hold the rank of general, with the rest Colonel, on the fast track to promotion.
