* Thrakk takes the data pad from the Supreme Commander and reads over the mission briefing quickly and then places the data pad inside his inner coat pocket. Looking back up at the Supreme Commander, he nods with a short bow. *
" It shall be done Supreme Commander, our enemies will see what happens when they defy the First Order "
* Thrakk turns and exits the office heading to the hanger *

*A transmission from Clak'dor VII was sent to the office of the Supreme Commander. When accepted, the holographic forms of a male Bith politicain and a somewhat short, robed Sith Lord would appear.* "Greetings, Supreme Commander," *greeted the Sith.* "I am Lord Sobrius of the Sith."
"And I am Sugrin N'ar, governor of Clak'dor VII," *the Bith introduced.* "We have been observant of the galactic climate for some time... and we wish to pledge our allegiance to the First Order."
"I realize we are quite the distance from your current sphere of influence," *Sobrius continued,* "But a certain 'Soku Ren' once personally invited us to join with your Order. At the time, I did not accept... However, now I see that my talents would be... best served under your banner. I can offer myself, my apprentice, and several trained acolytes of the dark side, as well as many soldiers that serve my name."
"And I will offer anything the Bith government can provide that will be of use," *Sugrin added.* "We have little defenses of our own, but if there's anything we can spare, we will gladly give it."

The Supreme Commander was somewhat intrigued that the government of Clak'dor VII was contacting him. Even more intriguing was that an offer had already been made by Soku Ren, but nothing the Imperial could do about that, given the Knights of Ren's autonomy in terms of their operations from the First Order. Nicademus leans back in his chair, a gloved hand placed curtly upon his chin. A posture of thought was being portrayed as he listened to the transmission.
Your statement of allegiance and offers intrigue me, Governor N'ar and Lord Sobrius.
The planet of Clak'dor VII rested right along the Rimma Trade Route and the Bith species were well known as intellectuals and engineers. Certainly they could be hired as shipyard workers and within the scientific fields of the First Order. It was a tempting offer that came with additional force-users and soldiers to boot.
In exchange for this offer, the First Order will see to the improvement of Clak'dor's security. A contingent of Stormtroopers will be deployed as well as officers to better train your planetary security troops. Moneys, arms and materials will be provided to further improve upon the defensive capabilities of your planet, Governor. In exchange for scientific intellectuals and skilled engineers from your population.
His eyes then turn to Sobrius.
These arrangements will take time to be ready, but in the mean time, prepare your soldiers and followers, Lord Sobrius. We may find a time to meet with an impending military operation that the First Order will conduct in the coming future. You may be distant now, but not for long. It will be the first step in further securing the Rimma Trade Route, Lord Sobrius. Are we in agreement?

*While both parties were of course attentive to the Supreme Commander's words, Sobrius himself subtly studied the man in-depth. The Sith Lord was already aware of the charisma of Nicademus Delvardus the Fourth, as well as his history as an Imperial. It seemed nothing could intimidate him; though, in fairness, Sobrius had rather humbled himself, if only to ensure the smoothest of meetings.
But Sobrius had also foreseen the potential request for technicians and engineers; Sugrin, too, had expected it, knowing his own people more than Sobrius would. A fair trade, to be sure, and it didn't require them to speak amongst themselves for Sugrin to nod and respond,* "Whatever ensures the best and brightest future for my people, as well as the galaxy."
"Before I fully agree," *Sobrius interjected,* "I request a little more information on this proposed campaign of yours. It would help me to better ensure my men are prepared for whatever task you would ask of us."

Nicademus had been trying to keep a tight-lip on this operation, especially from his own officers. He needed to ensure everything went according to plan, especially since the first phase of this maneuver would acquire a vital asset to the growing power of the First Order. The Imperial had a better idea on how to answer the Sith Lord's question.
You will receive a transmission, alerting you to a departure date and time within the coming days, Lord Sobrius. Coordinates will be embedded within the message, to which I suggest you follow them to a rendezvous point. There, I will state the intended operation not only to you, but those who will also be joining me.
The destination was only known to Nicademus, but once the coordinates were plugged in, all upon his cruiser would know. Just as Sobrius would know once the transmission was sent to him. Once the location was revealed, certainly a hint would be given.
Is this acceptable, Lord Sobrius?

*Cautious, unwilling to disclose too much information. Respectable. It also spoke of perhaps a key mission, one the Supreme Commander was not willing to disclose so soon, and to a fledgling ally. Sobrius only smirked and nodded, responding,* "As you wish. I await your transmission eagerly."
"Thank you for you audience, Supreme Commander. We shall immediately handpick some of our brightest minds for your service." *The Bith bowed in respect.
Sobrius, however, only gave a nod.* "Here is the comm information for the office of the Sith Temple, where I make my residence. May we bring order to this lawless galaxy." *Business considered concluded, the holograms dissipated as the communication ended, the deal struck.*

Anatol's long legs took swift but composed steps down the length of the aisle to the Supreme Commander's office. He wasn't late, but he didn't like to dawdle either. He had been in the suite before; the theatrics of it all still impressed him but familiarity had taken much of the punch out of it. Anatol's pace wasn't injured in the slightest until he was a mere two metres away from the Supreme Commander's desk, where he abruptly stopped. He needed only an inclination from his superior before he began to speak.
"The report is positive." Anatol's lips hardly moved as he spoke, his matter-of-fact tone reading out the words like they were statistics. He placed a holopad on the Supreme Commander's desk, which played visual accompaniments to Anatol's verbal report. "95% of our available ships are primed and ready — on schedule for our operation into the Core Worlds." Knowing that the Supreme Commander would inquire into the other five percent, he continued, "Regrettably, a number of infiltrators were caught on Mygeeto. Their sabotage has set back our preparations on the world by a few weeks. We are in the process of investigating their motives. My department will send memos to provide you with updates as we progress with our investigation." The Acting Director of Imperial Intelligence paused for a few moments to allow the holographic animation on the holopad to play out.
"Intelligence recommends fortifying our naval defences on Taris. It is a fair way away from any notable world we control, and it is surrounded by Mandalorian and Alliance worlds. As the Alliance escalates its assault on the world — and we have suspicions that they will — our risk of losing it will increase exponentially. It would be my advice to send a separate detachment, perhaps even a reserve armada, to support our forces there."
The holopad finished playing its animated accompaniment and Anatol retrieved it. "There is one more thing, Supreme Commander. With your authorization, I would like to expand the sphere of operations that Imperial Intelligence undertakes. Coordinating military efforts will remain our primary focus, but if it is possible, I would like to initiate covert business ventures as well. They will be controlled, monitored, and operated on a tight budget. Our purpose will not just be to profit from transactions, but to establish connections with an array of individuals throughout the galaxy so that we may call upon their talents at a time when it suits us."

Nicademus was reviewing some estimations for some planned operations when the Acting Director of Imperial Intelligence came in. The Imperial looks up, noticing Anatol Onasi approaching from the other end of the room. He sets down his reports to review them later as he takes in the details reported by Darth Rebellious's standing replacement. Anatol had come with a recommendation when he joined the Imperial Intelligence and had been appointed Deputy Director by Rebellious himself. Nicademus had no choice but to trust Telos native with control over the First Order's intelligence department.
We have recently pacified Mygeeto with an outbreak of rebellion by the Muunilist workers. I suspect with their defeat, the infiltrators have certainly vanished without the support there. Keep a close eye on Mygeeto in the mean time, Director Onasi. That planet is vital for its mineral resources, but tends to be a troubling spot.
To the matter of Taris.
I have deployed Fleet Admiral Arcavius with the Teutates Command to reinforce the High Admiral's Void Command. General Caster Krannurak has been deployed with the entirety of the First Imperial Corp to size up its planetary defenses. That should be enough to keep the Rebel Alliance off that world. They hardly have the manpower to stop our advancement.
Yet they still managed a successful raid on Bilbringi, blowing out a whole section of the shipyard with them. The Rebel Alliance was indeed a tenacious foe that would face its due judgment once the Sol Invictus was up and running again. Finally to the matter of expanding the sphere of operations.
Granted, Director Onasi. If need be, use the services of the Imperial CIvil Services to your advantage. They are good diplomats and help with integrating worlds into the fold of the First Order. You should know that makes them perfect spies and excellent commissars for instilling FIrst Order ideals into newly subjugated populations.

Anatol nodded in response to his superior's comments on Mygeeto. "But of course, Supreme Commander."
On Taris, Anatol simply nodded again. "Very well. We will be monitoring the battle and will submit a report on it afterwards. I urge only that we not underestimate the Rebels. They have a proven knack for defying the odds."
Upon hearing his superior grant his request, however, Anatol allowed himself a smile. He understood that he had come into his current position by a matter of procedural succession, rather than the Supreme Commander's appointment, as the previous Director had. Increasing his workload was a calculated risk, but one he was willing to take to prove him talent for the role to the Supreme Commander and hopefully win a permanent appointment to the position. "Yes, of course, Supreme Commander. I will take advantage of whatever resources we have to further the interests of the First Order. You may rest assured that we will expand our influence without the knowing of the public, and thus the Rebels'. I ask only that I be given autonomy in undertaking this business."
Anatol waited patiently for the Supreme Commander's response and dismissal. Their business was finished.

Your request for autonomy over the matter is granted, Acting Director. Report as usual to me when need be.
The Supreme Commander rises from his spot, sliding his chair in as he walks around his desk. The Imperial had had plenty on his mind recently, especially given recent betrayals within their ranks. Once more, the Imperial Knights, or rather a member of them, had betrayed the First Order. Granted they did not attempt to assassinate the Supreme Commander like last time, but the stain was still upon the ranks of the Knights. He turns to the Acting Director.
I do have a special assignment for you, Director. Recent activities within the Imperial Knights have left them under suspicion... even some of my advisers are wary of them despite their long term attachment to my cause and command. I believe the stain stems from the last Grandmaster who attempted to kill me. I want you to sniff ouit any dissidence among them and find the culprits. I want them cleaned of their stains and the rebellious elements crushed!

A small contingent of soldiers is led into the main gathering room, escorted by what appears to be security provided by the First Order. The atmosphere is amicable but it is clear the four troopers clad in gray BDUs are tired. They are pale with shadowy, sunken sockets. A few sported strange wounds for the modern era, including missing fingers or scarred eyes. The tallest of the four, a woman with glasses, appears to have faired better than her compatriots. After a few moments of nondescript conversation, where most of the overheard quips were remarks on the decor, this woman moves away from the other three and stretches her arms over her head while examining a nearby data-screen.
Of curious note about these four characters is that none of them appear armed on the surface.
They wait quietly. . .

The Stormtroopers present did not speak much, yet one is clearly speaking within his helmet. After a few moments, the doorway into the Supreme Commander's office is opened. The one Stormtrooper points to the Major, the female, indicating her only.
Only you may enter. Your guards remain out here. Supreme Commander's orders.
Once the Major was within the suite, the doors closed behind her, locking from within. The internal security was rather evident as red-armored Imperial Knights stood at intervals leading down a long hallway to a rather spacious lounge. Before the Major was a holoprojected image of Kuat in all its glory. A desk stood at the far end where a chair had been turned to look away from her. The Supreme Commander was gazing upon the image of Kuat, remembering how times used to be. But it was better to come to the Imperial Sector in the end, to begin anew.
He heard footsteps approaching, making him turn in his chair to look upon the Major. The Imperial offers a friendly smile.
Another familiar face has come before me. Been a long time, Major. Not since I had the Imperial Remnant integrated into the Galactic Empire.
Nicademus rises from his chair, reaching for the right side of his desk where the Imperial grabbed two glasses, pouring some Corellian Brandy. He offers a glass, as a host, to his visitor. Whether it was taken or not, Nicademus would drink from his own, swirling the drink for a moment in his glass.
So where have you been all this time, Major? I take it one of Lord Sinistra's many expeditions?

It was a loaded question to be sure. Expedition? More like suicide mission. Its result left more than a sour taste in the woman's mouth. One she was glad to be rid of as she grasped the proffered brandy and raised it quickly to form a toast out of respect. Her eyes closed briefly as she savored the smooth warmth. Momentarily ignoring the swelling wad of prickled nerves at the mention of the former Empress' name, she spoke.
"Aye. If not for the artifacts recovered then I'd concern myself with the cost to my detachment. We became cut off. Trapped. Unpleasant, to say the least."
She took another sip.
"Imagine how different the galaxy seems now. So much has changed in three years. Is the Empress even alive?"
The woman appears to stare directly into the supreme commander's eyes, something razor-like edging into her voice at the question.

Nicademus quietly sets down the glass. He reaches behind him, pressing upon the desk to bring up some files on what the Major inquired about. A holorecording of the throne room the day Sinistra disappeared without a trace and various reports from across the Empire, which almost brought the nation to collapse.
That I cannot say for sure, Major. One day Lord Sinistra was there, the next, gone. Not a trace of where she went.
Nicademus reaches for his glass, letting his guest examine the reports for herself.
This chaos, if you would call it, would last for about three days before I declared myself her successor as Emperor. But I dissolved the Empire not a year later. It was dying nation, it could hardly stand upon its feet. And I would not try to keep a dying horse alive.

The words sunk low, draining what felt to be the marrow from her bones. Dejection rippled across her otherwise placid face like a stone cast upon water. Quickly, internally, emotions of anger and disgust numbed and warmed her body as it rolled down. Relief and tension also, paradoxically, sizzled up to a mad boil. Betrayal. Weakness. Folly. Another moment passes as the Major stops to ponder these terrible implications. Years of work. Marginalized. Meaningless.
No, she would not accept that. Perhaps it would not serve a weak, crumbling empire, but instead provide clarity for a focused, new order.
". . . I see..." This was followed by another swig from the glass. Her eyes become obscured by that damnable glare of her spectacles. Behind the lenses, she considered the Supreme Commander. He was a practical individual. Concise. Not historically given to whims of vanity or fancy. There was no telling from this brief encounter if the absence of the old Empress slighted him at all, nor if the retreat and reformation of what appeared to be left of the empire had left any bad imprints on his psyche. Now was not the time to pry regardless.
Although her expression seemed dark, it quickly shifted as her head tilted upwards into a pleasant smile.
". . . this is an opportunity. No doubt the weaknesses that old coalition have been burned away under your guidance."
This smile widens. The shine of determination glimmers in her somewhat moribund eyes.
"What would you have me do?"

Nicademus reaches once more behind him, ticking off the holoprojector. The Imperial drinks from his glass, listening quietly to the words of the Major. What she said was true; when Muunilist was practically gifted to him, Nicademus did not hesitate. He dissolved the dying Empire, relocated loyal forces to the Outer Rim and established a new order for the future of the Imperial cause. And this time, it was a nation he created, a nation he knew through and through. He notices her pleasant smile, which warranted a response.
I ensured none of the weaknesses of the old Empire remained. This First Order, of mine, is the pinnacle of Imperial militarism, ideology and progress. It is both the raw and refined form of Imperial military governance and discipline. Everyone who has come has found their place and thrived.
Now, onto the Major's question.
The question is though, Major, where do you see yourself in this New Order? Where do you feel you can excel and prove the most results for this nation?

There was little to be said or observed of his approach of the Supreme Commander's office. The decorum was as expected, the managerie of imperial designs and construction were apparent even as he observed the subtleties easily hidden within them. Whoever this Supreme Commander was, they were more than likely an individual of considerable taste and power, but none too different from one of a particular background. That background, however, eluded the Chiss as he continued to contemplate the various surroundings leading up to the Office door.
Stopping shy of the door, Thrael ushered the android Ariela forward, instructing her silently to stop by his side. Perhaps a bold move, he mused, but one bold enough to present a considerable gain in the eye of an accepting beholder. While her talents had been squandered by his former Lord maybe, just maybe, this Commander could recognize the true value of a technical asset of her caliber. Bringing his hands back to a clasped poise behind his back, he stood still and with a relaxed expression as he waited for his audience to greet him accordingly.

The only audience present were a pair of Stormtroopers. One of them reaches up, keying his helmet. There was a muffled conversation, inaudible to Thrael and his companion, Ariela. It took a short time, though, before the Stormtrooper turned, keying the door to open. They both then snapped to attention, in indication that the Chiss was permitted to enter. A long corridor followed, guarded by a handful of Imperial Knights who stood to the right of Thrael as the Chiss was permitted to go through the doorway, down the corridor and into a rather large lounge.
The holoprojector, of impressive size, laid beyond an unoccupied desk. It depicted the clouds of Bespin, with Cloud City far off in the distance. To the left, there was movement as an orange-haired male stood, examining what appeared to be a digital map upon another enlarged screen. An Imperial Knight briskly passed the two guests, speaking lowly to Supreme Commander, who wore a standard officer's uniform. Nicademus nods quietly as the Knight steps back. The Imperial turns off the screen before turning to Thrael.
Fleet Admiral... Thrael I presume. You are the first Chiss I have met that was not in my employment. Always thought your people were isolationists.
Although, nowadays, they weren't in complete isolation under the pro-Imperial government installed after the swift conquest of Chiss Space and dissolution of the long-standing Ascendancy. What remained was absorbed and integrated into the First Order for its own benefit. Nicademus would peel away from where he stood, approaching the Chiss and Android. The Imperial Knight followed closely, keeping within a hands length from the Supreme Commander.
I hope you can understand our reaction. Not often that a warship drops out of hyperspace over Muunilist that isn't a part of the First Order's ranks.

A small smile curved the Chiss' lips as the Supreme Commander greeted him, a small level of amusement found in how he was received. While he didn't always agree forthright with his people's mindset on the outside systems, he'd come to care little for it none the less.
"I have not lived by my people's manner for a long time, Commander," the Chiss explained, barely relaxing himself as he watched the Knight keep himself within an arms length of the imperial commander. No different could be said of Ariela as she stood a similar distance to him, however she was unmoving in more than her optics taking in everything in the room before focusing on the Supreme Commander himself.
"For that, I am hardly surprised by your response to my arrival. It is I who should apologize for my lack mannered test of your systems defenses." His voice was low, but his attention was fixed upon the Supreme Commander's eyes, searching for some form of response within any such expression he would give in return to his explanation. "I must say that I am impressed."

Impressed you say?
Nicademus could see this man, probably, enjoyed defensive measures when they were well organized and quick to action. The Imperial clasps his hands together, thinking for a moment, then gestures to his guest to follow him away from he was before. It had been awhile since the Supreme Commander spoke with a ranking officer from among the Chiss people. Most of the First Order-aligned commanders tended to keep to Chiss Space in order to keep the peace.
I always want only the best for my military. If one section, even the smallest detail, is out of order, the whole machine falls apart. And in a military, that can be the one small weakness your enemy needs to destroy you for good. Without a strong and sound military, my vision for order is but dead in the water.
Nicademus remains standing as he looks at the holoprojector change to an image of Yaga Minor, showing its daily activity or at least imitating it. The view of the shipyards, showing the construction of non-existent Star Destroyers, was a relaxing sight for him. He turns back to Thrael.
You seem like someone who would agree with me on those words.
