Anya followed the Field Marshal as he led her into the Emperor's office. Filled with soldiers of different groups, including the Imperial Knights as expected and those bearing the red armor. The two that had come to the landing pads had broken away from them as they walked to take up their position in the office once more. She was still curious as to what this group was and what made them different than the rest. She expected, though, that time would soon tell.
As they reached the end of the hall and the room opened up into the rest of the office, she saw Nicademus there at his desk, working hard as he always did. She didn't notice Illaria anywhere, nor feel her presence, though she chalked it up to her being elsewhere or on a mission. It was good though because as things were going, she doubted she'd be able to stomach the sight of her. However, that small glimmer of peace faded a bit as the two children ran out of another room to join him. Her head dropped and her eyes shifted to the floor. What was she expecting? It had been nearly a decade since she left. Of course, there was a high likelihood that he now had children. No doubt the stir of her emotions caused a faint fluctuation with her presence that wouldn't have gone unnoticed by those around them that could feel it.
Suddenly, Baltasar came to a halt a fair distance from the Emperor as the children arrive, bringing her to a stop as well. It was a bit confusing to her as to why but did nothing to question it. But it wasn't long before the boy pointed in their direction and the man sitting there took notice. As he saw her and slowly stood, her heart skipped a few beats as she took a deep almost audible breath. But when he spoke, describing this as business, her emotions once again stirred. Part of her was happy at this thought as it seemed that she was concerned for nothing and she could return to what she was doing prior without fear of scrutiny. Then again, it also was like a dagger in her heart to just be considered that: business.
As the Field Marshal took the kids, she watched as Nicademus rose and looked to the holoprojector before making his way towards her. As he spoke, he walked by her handed an aide the datapad. Taking a deep breath, she prepared her mind to answer the questions she wasn't most thrilled in currently talking about. "They look to be fine children, coming from good stock. I'm sure they will both become people worthy to lead the First Order into the future." Then came that last line. So it seemed that Illaria was either gone or dead. It was a sad thing, yes, but at the same time, she felt hopeful. A feeling she knew was wrong but couldn't help it. She was only glad that he was behind her and unable to see her eyes light up a bit. "I'm sorry for your loss. I'm sure it must be hard on you and them."

"I'm sorry for your loss. I'm sure it must be hard on you and them." Nicademus falls quiet for a moment, recalling the last time he ever spoke to Anya. He knew of her sore dislike towards Illaria. The Emperor may not be Force sensitive, but he could listen to the tone of words, examine expressions, and get answers from posture. The Imperial had always been a man who knew how to examine character and thus be able to appoint those of good potential and skill accordingly. He listens carefully to the words of Anya, noting a hint of displeasure when the mention of Illaria was made. It was still there after all these years... and even with Illaria gone for good as well. The Emperor moves away from his aide, passing Anya once more as he moved towards his desk.I have accepted her loss and moved on from it. She would not want me mourning like a widow... she would want me to continue to strive forward for my Empire and my children. It will be harder on Octavian and Fiora though. Illaria was a good mother to them and it will be hard to replace her.Nicademus had already begun setting his sights on a new Empress, encouraged by his brother and senior military advisers... and a bit of convincing himself too. His children were young and still needed the nurturing presence of a mother in their lives. After all, he still had a nation to run and could not always be there for his son and daughter. Nicademus needed someone to help him raise his children and to be a pillar of support in his life. Just as Illaria was.
He picks up a datapad, examining it for a moment. The Imperial then sets it to the side before turning fully to look directly at Anya.I am rather surprised to see you return. I know the Knights would love to see a sister of theirs return to the fold and I could always people I can trust in my ranks. For when I am gone, my son will have to rely upon those I trusted and those he has come to trust himself. The Emperor leans against his desk, folding his arms slightly. Now tell me, Anya, why did you leave? What made you come back? The answer to which was probably obvious but still, Nicademus needed to hear her say it.

Anya continued to listen as Nicademus went on about Illaria and her loss, doing all she could to keep her composure through it. She didn't want to appear weak before him, didn't want him to truly know what she was thinking. But she couldn't help but ask herself why he was going on about her and the children as he was. In any situation, this encounter would be business, questions, determining why they left, why they should be allowed to return, and establishing them back among the ranks. Yet, the very first thing was talking about Illaria and his children as if she was some close trusted friend that had always been there. It made her wonder, did her know? And if so, what was he attempting?
It wasn't long, though, before the conversation switched to what she expected it to be. She doubted the Knights would have any real care if they even remembered. She never really interacted with many of the others, having stepped away from the Knights for a time to aid the civilians around the area after their arrival. Many looked at her questionably due to the way she utilized and viewed her power, and even she didn't feel she was ever a truly a fully inducted Knight. But it was possible that it was merely her own belief and perception of the situation.
But when the question she was expecting came, she tensed slightly. She couldn't bring up the reason as to her departure to him. How could she ever justify to him she had left because of what she felt for him, knowing that such feelings weren't reciprocated? It was petty and childish, unfit for someone who held the rank of Imperial Knight. She couldn't explain that being near him hurt too much. But he needed an answer. "I needed time to myself to sort out some things about me and my path moving forward. But after all this time, working with Kia in aiding those civilians caught up in war, just stepping aside and trying to live a normal life, my spirit kept pulling me back here. So, I finally gave up trying to seek something else that my heart otherwise determined I had."

Nicademus was quiet before, during, and after Anya spoke. His eyes trained right upon the female. The Imperial then looks to the side after a moment, walking away from his desk, to the side, as he looks at the banner of the First Order that hung in his office. The Emperor could smell her attempt, after all, the male had seen it before. Once Illaria was in his life, Anya was seen less and less. She became less talkative and more isolated from Nicademus. It wasn't too hard not to tell what was going on, but her depature, her sudden departure, was not expected. It really hurt her to see what had happened.
You were never good at covering up the truth... Sure, I suspect you needed to sort yourself out. But at the same time, the moment you left, I knew why you left. I saw how you became more quiet, more isolated... all the changes that resulted in your departure. You are speaking to someone who knew you too well and could tell when the differences surfaced. It is unfortunate that you did not stay and be my guard as you had done before.
Nicademus looks away from the banner to turn toward Anya.
That's why I asked what you thought of my children, first. I needed to see your reaction... I needed to see if why you left before still lingered. I needed information to know what to do next with the fact that you are here again. After all, you did not commit treason, you merely left cause you felt it was right.
The Emperor moves away from where he was before and returns to the front of his desk.
Now that you are back, what do you want to do with this second chance, Anya? I want to know what you plan to do now that you are here.

As Nicademus spoke, the feelings stirring within Anya only increased. To openly admit to her the reason he spoke of his children before all else. He knew why she left and wanted to see what would become of it now that she had returned. It was bad enough to ask those questions, but to do it intentionally like this, it hurt, to say the least. Her fists tightened as her mind lost control of its restraint on her feelings, finally expressing them. "What do you want me to say? Yes, I left because of you and her. For a time, the way you talked to me, how you trusted me seemed to go much farther than just a regular person you felt you could trust. Feelings for you started to grow in the times we were around each other. And I truly thought you felt the same. That is, until that day I found out about you two. It didn't matter where I'd be within this place, I'd always end up running into one of you. I couldn't take being here anymore. Call it childish and foolish, for it is, putting feelings before the duty I agreed to uphold, childish for handling it the way I did. But, in the end, it wasn't like it mattered." Despite the flow of emotion that entwined itself within her voice, she never raised it, keeping it calm and collected.
When she finished, she took a deep breath and turned her head, working to quell the feelings surging inside her spirit. She didn't even care anymore who was around them, not caring who overheard her. She stayed silent for a few moments, choosing to ignore anything her mind wanted her to say about the why of his questions and statements. It served no purpose but to cause more of an issue. Instead, she pushed on to the last of his questions: what was next. At this point, she couldn't make heads or tails of what he truly meant by them. Was he asking what she intended to do within the First Order or something else? Refusing to indulge the possibility of the latter, she made herself believe it only reflected the former. Taking another deep breath, her gaze returned to him, her composure returning. "I haven't given it much thought. I was mostly concerned about the first encounter before figuring out the next step. Truthfully, I don't know. I could always return to the Imperial Knights, though I can't say if I ever felt truly at home with them."

Nicademus listened quietly, yet attentively. It was clear that he was listening and digesting the confession that Anya spoke. It was true, whenever one worked with another, there was always the potential of a spark. He reflected, for a moment, remembering when Faina and him were the same as Anya spoke. Many years ago when the Imperial was leading the remnants of the Fel Empire in the Deep Core. He had been wrong not to speak to Anya and try to ease her mind. But, she left nonetheless, and it was evident that Nicademus was not at all disappointed nor upset. She had good reason and she followed what she felt was right.
You know, Anya, you are right. I did feel something back then. I will not lie nor will I try to hide the truth.
Nicademus looks directly at her, his expression ever stern and disciplined.
I did not truly pursue anything though because, Anya, I did not want it to be the way of your education to become a full fledged knight. I know this is the reason because it is not the first time this has happened. That truth I will also not hide from you. I wanted you to be a knight first before considering anything else. You came to my faction as a potential recruit and I know that Xeonon, among others, saw the potential in you.
Nicademus did not dare need to glance because he knew Xeonon was in this very room, hidden and masked among the ranks of the elite Praetorians. Anya had been among the new generation of recruits for the Imperial Knights. She showed great potential and could have been a worthy knight if she had completed that training to the fullest. The Imperial continues to look at her.
I will not call what you did anything. You did what you felt was right, Anya. You had your reasons after all. I never once thought that you planned to betray me nor seek to destroy me for the decisions I had made. Even if I never saw you again, I would have never spoken ill of you.
Unlike the traitors, such as Antares Draco, Director Yularen, and Aeryn Morningstar.
My advice to you, you should return to the knights. They would want you back, Anya. I would want you back with them. The future I am building for my son and daughter to inherit will require trustworthy persons, skilled hands, and experienced minds. I want you to be in that future, to be among those who contributed to its rise. To be among the names that my son will, one day, speak proudly of in rousing speeches and glorious celebration.
Nicademus kept his gaze firmly on Anya. Would she accept it and stay or would she walk away?

Her breathing began to grow heavier at his confession that he did, indeed, feel something back then. But that small bit of hope that made her heart beat faster was overshadowed by the sadness of fustration as to why he never enacted upon it. Not pursuing anything because of her training to be a full-fledged knight? She never believed she would have, nor accepted a reality in which she would have. She might have come to stand with their beliefs to a degree, enough to join, but the way she utilized her power, what she learned and believed of it from her time with her adoptive father, Gavin, would have always kept her from being such a knight in her eyes. She was still too different from them. Something he didn't seem to notice.
But what made all twar at her the most was knowing she was just another in a line that he felt for but walked away from. Her fists tightened a bit as she closed her eyes for a moment, accompanied by a deep breath to keep her composure. She didn't wish to continue this path of conversation for fear of her own lack of control. Instead, she focused on his advice.
Could she return to the knights? Should she return? Did she really belong there? Then again, where else could she go within the First Order? There was the Ren, but she felt she fit in less with them than even the Knights. After that, there was nothing else. Giving off a sigh, she looked back to him. "Very well. If that is what you feel, then I'll take my place among the Imperial Knights once more."

Nicademus smiles upon hearing Anya's words. It was good to see her accepting towards his suggestion to return to the Imperial Knights. It was the best fit for her after all. The Imperial moves away from his desk to approach Anya directly. His expression was enough to show he welcomed her back and was grateful that she had accepted his suggestion of rejoining the Imperial Knights. The Emperor proceeds to cast a glance at one of the Praetorians. He knew Xeonon would approve of Anya rejoining the Imperial Knights, they were always welcoming toward new recruits and Anya had been a choice of his before his rather sudden disappearance. Anya had performed her role well, defending Nicademus more than once after all.
I will send word to Faina. As Grandmaster, she will know what to do and where to put you with your return.
Nicademus pats her shoulder and smiles once more before walking away, moving back to his desk.
I should let you know... there will be few familiar faces and many new ones.
He pauses to look back at Anya with a serious look.
A necessary purge occurred while you were away after a few defections and attempts on the life of the Grandmaster. I am sorry if some of those who were executed for treason and sedition were anyone you knew.

Anya nodded as Nicademus spoke of the purge that took place during her absence. There were many faces she remembered, but never felt truly close to. Even with her time with the Knights as far back as Kuat, she never really attempted to grow closer. Many still kept their distance due to her power and how she used it. It was what made her a target when the last Grandmaster tried killing Nicademus on a visit to Muunilist before the First Order’s creation. It was a task that had to be carried out, eliminating those of treasonous intent. And it seemed it had to be done once again. "Until the Grandmaster is able to meet with me and assign me, I’ll work at my training to get myself situated within the presence of the others. But involving the purge, one must do what is needed to keep the peace and remove possible civil war."

Associates were everywhere, but to have friends and friendly persons was always far more welcoming to the Imperial.I hope we can talk again soon, Anya. For now, I must return to my work. Welcome back.======================================================= Faina DelvardusToday remained the usual as the Emperor went about with his meetings and examining reports. There was a lot on his mind though involving the announcement of his Empress and the two boons granted to two vital organizations within his Empire. Nicademus had a mental note to visit the Ren on Prakith at the earliest convenience in order to clarify and assure the Ren of a few matters that certainly occupied their minds. Deep down, the Imperial suspected Soku had no issue as he would have been the most likely to raise his voice during the gathering or sometime after. Still, it was nonetheless prudent to meet with them personally and, likely, with the newly made Empress at his side.
On top of the more recent thoughts, his mind was thinking of the Empire's future and that of his eldest son, Octavian, who was the Crown Prince. There were arrangements for him to be trained as an Imperial Knight. However, his thoughts made him wonder if maybe there could be more sources of experience. He had contemplated making his son a Grand Moff, likely of the Deep Core, when he was old enough to learn how to administrate. As an Imperial Knight, Octavian would learn discipline, personal combat, and other virtues. In addition, Nicademus contemplated giving his son, when he was of age, command of a squadron or a Stormtrooper unit to gain battlefield experience, learn how to command troops, and understand other military affairs. It would be quite the extensive education, but Octavian needed it in order to one day become the First Order's next emperor. Plans were already in motion to consider the course of Octavian's education. On the matter of Fiora, her education was to be handled by the Ren, and she would likely be granted formal education, similar to that of her twin brother, in order to ensure her future role in the Empire.
Nicademus's thoughts would abruptly stop when he heard a door open nearby. He wasn't in the usual office area, but rather a lounge that was situated within the personal quarter area of his office. After all, the Office did contain the personal chambers for his children, himself, and now Faina. He looks up to see two Stormtroopers walk in, positioning themselves at the doorway before seeing Faina walking in.I am guessing the children are sound asleep now?The Emperor inquires, looking at Faina. The four of them had had a nice meal for dinner and a rather pleasant evening. Faina was still getting used to her new role as a stepmother, but it would take time. Time for her to grow into her role and time for the children to fully accept her. Thankfully, no issue yet... well, that's the thing. No issue yet. Nicademus had to prepare for when one did occur.

After putting Octavian and Fiora to bed, Faina leans against the doorway to Fiora's room, watching the girl sleeping, the tenderness in her expression somewhat at odds with the pensive, troubled caste in her blue-grey eyes. The dinner had been pleasant, almost entirely free of the tentative awkwardness that had been evidenced in the earliest times that Faina and the children had spent together, and Faina had even finally been able to discern what had led her, until tonight, to keep some inner emotional distance between herself and Fiora - born as much from a self-protective instinct to insulate her from any sense of guilt that not trying to sway Nicademus from his decision to allow Fiora to train with the Knights of Ren as from any unintended influence she might have on the girl's upbringing that could conflict with what the Ren would teach her, as well as from the potential tragedy she cannot help but fear Fiora's training invites; a realization that had, in turn, enabled her to lower the emotional barriers she had erected so that, potential consequences be damned, she was able to open herself to Fiora every bit as freely as she had to Octavian, allowing both, in equal measure, into her heart so that she could be a devoted, loving and supportive mother to them in as much as they allowed her to be. Knowing that it would take time for them all to reach whatever equilibrium it is that ultimately awaits them, Faina has been careful to be patient, allowing Fiora and Octavian to dictate the pace at which they moved towards that state, and she feels as though tonight saw them all make steps towards it, evidenced, for her at least, by the depth of maternal feelings that have grown within her towards them both in the time since she has entered her lives just as they have become a part of hers.
Willing herself to lay her concerns aside, hoping against hope that they will prove to be founded, Faina turns from the doorway and makes her way to the lounge where Nicademus is waiting, stopping in the kitchen to gather a pair of wine glasses and the bottle of finely aged wine that had accompanied the letter Fleet Admiral Hu had sent congratulating her and Nicademus on their engagement. I am guessing the children are sound asleep now? Smiling as she settles on the couch beside Nicademus, Faina nods and says, "That they are, my love, and hands him one of the wine glasses after filling it. We will have to remember to send a note to Admiral Hu thanking her for her letter and gifts, Faina says as much to him as to herself, touched by the gesture the Miraluka had thoughtfully made. Curling her legs up beneath her and snuggling up against Nicademus' chest after pouring herself a glass of the wine, Faina sighs contentedly before, recalling that there was more on their agenda for the evening than relaxing and enjoying one another's company, prompting him to begin the planned conversation, You mentioned earlier that there are some matters we had to discuss without distractions?"

Nicademus takes the glass from Faina, noting that it was the gifted alcohol from Fleet Admiral Hu. He recalled it was a favored Imperial vintage from Bastion, supposedly drank often by Moffs of the old Imperial Remnant. The Imperial sniffs it slightly, taking in the aroma before drinking from his glass. He adjusts slightly, letting Faina get comfortable against him. It was a little something to get used to, the signs and gestures of affection that were being exchanged regularly between the two of them. After all, Faina and him had been rather professional over a decade now. Yet, beneath it all, the two had emotions toward each other and it had always been there. She had almost instantly fallen into the role of being his female companion without any hesitation. It made Nicademus wonder if she had been planning, or hoping, for the day this would come. His hand was felt on her back, rubbing it slightly as he began to speak. The most important of matters first, Faina, and it involves Fiora. The Imperial says as he drinks from his glass.I know your sentiments towards the children and your desire to see them both be made Imperial Knights. However, it was the wish of the former Empress that one go to the Knights, the other to the Ren. The Knights of Ren have always been good allies and I want to respect that wish of Illaria's. Else, I could only imagine how they would react.Something Nicademus wanted to avoid. Soku had been good to his word on making the Ren the Swords of the Empire with the Imperial Knights being his Shields. Fiora was to go to the Ren to be educated as one, something Illaria always wanted. His daughter was already starting to achieve some antics of her mother, being mischievous ever since she was born. However, the two siblings seemed good to one another, which was good. However, I plan to speak with the Ren. Ensure they understand that you are to be Fiora's mother and they cannot get in the way of your role as such. Illaria will still be remembered, but my children need a mother who can be there for them, physically, not in spirit.Nicademus did not want the Ren interfering with that all. Faina was to be the mother of Fiora, someone she could turn to and talk to. He would not want them poisoning her mind against her stepmother, who she could come to love and appreciate, with time. He wanted a sound family after all. No worries to be given from them since the Empire always had its own set of worries to attend to daily.
He turns to Faina, patting her leg lightly as the male smiles at her. Now, if we are to have any children of our own, they will go to the Knights if they prove to be force sensitive, find a good place within the Imperial Military if not, or find any sort of career that is within the Empire where they can thrive. That I can promise you, Faina.

Was he that eager to get her back into the Knights in full that she wouldn't even be allowed to visit her room and relax for a day? The conversation thus far and her resurgent feelings still played at her mind as she worked to now keep her composure around him.
As he finished his words, she turned and departed the office, following the trooper to the Imperial Knight's tower.

The most important of matters first, Faina, and it involves Fiora ... I know your sentiments towards the children and your desire to see them both be made Imperial Knights. However, it was the wish of the former Empress that one go to the Knights, the other to the Ren. The Knights of Ren have always been good allies and I want to respect that wish of Illaria's. Else, I could only imagine how they would react ... However, I plan to speak with the Ren. Ensure they understand that you are to be Fiora's mother and they cannot get in the way of your role as such. Illaria will still be remembered, but my children need a mother who can be there for them, physically, not in spirit ... Now, if we are to have any children of our own, they will go to the Knights if they prove to be force sensitive, find a good place within the Imperial Military if not, or find any sort of career that is within the Empire where they can thrive. That I can promise you, Faina. Faina takes a deep drink of her wine after Nicademus explains that the first order of business they have to discuss concerns Fiora; the fact that Fiora is to be trained with the Knights of Ren something that Faina has wrestled with, and does not believe she will ever be truly at peace with even if she has accepted that the decision has not only been made, but is also one that she ultimately has had no say in. Not replying immediately after Nicademus has finished speaking, save for turning to smile at him and rest her palm on his cheek when he speaks of the possibility that she and he might one day have children of their own, Faina organizes her thoughts, wanting to approach the matter from something other than an emotional vantage point resting upon the fact that she is to be Fiora's parent, with all of the responsibilities and emotional ties that come along with the role. Faina takes some degree of comfort in the fact that Nicademus intends to make the Knights of Ren understand and respect her role as Fiora's mother, but worries that the very nature of Fiora's training, coupled with the contempt the Ren have always evidenced where the Imperial Knights are concerned, could poison any bond that grows between her and Fiora.
Nicademus and Faina have spoken in the past about their views on the Dark side of the Force and the dangers inherent in its use, and so Faina feels no need to remind him now of how she cannot help by virtue of her beliefs but feel that Fiora is being placed in danger, or of the tragedy that she believes is possible based on that danger. One of the more difficult aspects of being a mother to Fiora and Octavian, for Faina, has been accepting that so much of their lives have been lain out for them because of who they are; she can understand on an intellectual level that, as the inheritors of the Empire Nicademus has built, there are things they must learn, duties they must fulfill, and yet, as someone who has become attached to them and is to be a mother to them, she worries about the fact that they seem to have been robbed of any self agency, have so little say in their futures - especially, in her opinion, Fiora, who is too young to understand the perils of the path she has had set before her without any chance for her to decide if she wants to face those perils. Faina knows that, as the future Empress, she will need to develop the ability to view even the lives of Fiora and Octavian, as well as any children of their own she and Nicademus might have, from the perspective her role demands of her, and she wills herself to do so now as she replies to Nicademus.
"I would be lying, to myself and to you, Faina begins, her tone one weighted by her personal reservations and knowledge that, as the future Empress, she must accept that Fiora's future training with the Knights of Ren is, if not an absolute necessary, beneficial to the Empire's future, if I were to say that I am at all comfortable with the arrangement, Nicademus, and I will always worry for Fiora, she takes a deep breath, deciding not to spell out the reasons she will worry when Nicademus, as her father and someone that knows of the Dark side, must know the reasons why, if not even also worry for Fiora for the same reasons, but I understand and accept that you want to honor Illaria's wishes, as well as the Empire's relationship with the Knights of Ren. Trying to smile despite her concerns, her distaste and the hint of self-loathing for what she feels she must be a party to even though the deal was struck before she was made to accept it if she is to think as an Empress must think, Faina concludes by telling Nicademus, I will not do anything to imperil the arrangement, you have my word."
Taking a sip of her wine, Faina sighs and, forcing a laugh, attempts to lighter the mood by making a bit of a joke, "Now then, please tell me the next item on the agenda is something a little less . . . complicated."

Taking a sip of her wine, Faina sighs and, forcing a laugh, attempts to lighter the mood by making a bit of a joke, "Now then, please tell me the next item on the agenda is something a little less . . . complicated." Nicademus could tell that this was a hard subject for her. Everyone knew of the tension between the Knights of Ren and the Imperial Knights... well excluding Soku and Admiral Hu. Soku did not seem to mind any of what was going on as long as the Emperor was capable in his duties. Admiral Hu, on the other hand, had proven to put the Imperial loyalty ahead of the Ren loyalty. Everyone always forgot that it was mostly Harnan that had problems. And those who associated with him a lot as well. They had a different view of things, but Nicademus did not doubt that Faina would be respected in her role as Fiora's mother by the Ren while Faina respected the role the Ren would play in her education.
The Imperial moves his free hand to adjust Faina's hair a little. He smiles at her, recalling the face and gesture she made when the Emperor had mentioned the possibility of children between the two of them. The expression on her face was one that he would remember.I figured we get the hardest of topics out of the way at least. I know you care about Fiora and Octavian already, although you are still getting used to the role of being their mother. I just wanted you to be fully aware of those two. But, that despite all the plans, I want you to be loving and caring to them as any mother should.Nicademus smiles as he drinks from his glass. He was more than pleased to see Faina was accepting this and was more than compliant with these plans and wishes that had already been laid out. In truth, it relieved him and made his life much easier. Now, onto the other subjects. The next topic was my idea on who should serve as Steward for the Imperial Knights since you will have to play the role of Empress. There was only one name that Nicademus could think of fulfilling this role.Despite his actions, I would suggest Brock Ferrum. Panno is nothing more than a smith and I doubt he would like the work. Anya has only just returned and will need to regain trust for abandoning our cause. Other veterans have died on the battlefield or were executed for being traitors. And xeonon... well, you know why. So only Brock serves as the best candidate due to his dedication to the Knights, his loyalty, and his skill.Nicademus looks at Faina, patting her back lightly.I know he is the only good choice among the ranks of the Knights.

Faina looks over her shoulder and smiles at Nicademus, reaching down with her free hand to take his hand and squeeze it when he says that he wants her to be a loving and caring mother to Fiora and Octavian, as much to let him know that she wants to do so as well, as simply because hearing him say that he recognizes that she has already come to care for the children means a great deal to her.
Nodding after Nicademus has explained his reasons for believing Brock would be the best candidate to serve as Steward or the Imperial Knights, Faina says, "I came to the very same conclusion myself, so, she laughs, it seems neither of will need to convince the other of the wisdom of our choice. Taking a sip of her wine, Faina says, Brock can be . . . rash at times, and he will need to work on his command presence, but his loyalty to you and to the Empire is absolute. Settling more comfortably against Nicademus' chest, Faina adds, There is also no doubting that he is always vigilant against the Dark side and its influence. Add to that the fact that he is one of the more seasoned Knights, having a range of experience that includes front line combat and other roles, and there really is no other candidate that comes close to being as suited to the role as he is. I will meet with him tomorrow, and let him know of his new duties."
Smiling as she lifts a hand and waves it in a bring it on motion, Faina jokes, "We are on a roll now, what is the next item on our agenda?"

Nicademus suspected that Faina had the same idea on who to choose. Between all the choices, and despite his actions, Brock had the experience, the loyalty, and the respect to be the Steward. Panno was a smith for the Knights and did not seem to care much for leading. Xeonon was... well 'dead.' Anya had only just returned to the Knights. And others were too inexperienced or unqualified for the demands of the role. Brock would certainly be up for the task ahead, allowing Faina to concentrate on her duties as an Empress and a mother.
The male drinks his glass quietly, for a moment, as the thoughts dissipate and he returns to reality. The Imperial turns, smiling at Faina.
I am content with him being the Steward. He is the best choice that will give us both a peace of mind.
Nicademus was pleased that two subjects were out of the way.
Beyond that, there is only the matter of your formal wear, if you so desire, as Empress. And ensuring you through the necessary education to become my Empress. The ceremony is already laid out and due to begin with a couple weeks... upon that day, we will be married, and you will be crowned Empress.
The Emperor looks at Faina, smiling at her still.
Then... we can truly start our life together.

Lash was brought slowly through the corridors of Imperial Command escorted by several stormtroopers, all of whom had their rifles pointed at the man. However, the Chiss had no emotion playing across the angular, blue features of his face. He moved purposefully, and methodically through the corridors, not making any moves beyond walking forward, the cape he wore trailing behind him, the bright, fluorescent lights hitting the perfectly smoothed white cloth of his uniform.
Eventually, the guards reached a seemingly rather grand door in the complex, with two red-armored guards standing outside. Pushing him forward, the stormtroopers showed their clearance codes to the Praetorians, who checked them against the door's encoder before letting the small party in. His eyes briefly flitting from left to right, he noticed the apparent grandness of the space. However, slightly more troubling were the red guards standing around the perimeter of the room, keeping careful watch. If this meeting did not go as he had planned, there would be no escape. However, he had conviction that the Emperor would at least have the tactical foresight to see this as a good decision. And if not, he wouldn't live long enough to lament it. It was rather unfortunate, him having to gamble like this, but his situation had left him no better option, and so he had come to Muunilinst.
As he was escorted to the center of the room, he picked out several faces at the edge of it, clustered around a desk, all looking at him with a variation of emotions across it. Most of the people in question seemed to be weak minded, with their faces very visibly reserving a tide of anger which stemmed from hatred. Whether that was hatred of his species, or hatred of his crimes, perhaps he would never know. But, it was certainly interesting.
Two of them, however, seemed to be different. One of them stood directly to the right of the center of the desk, a shock of orange hair adorning his head. He looked more stony then the rest of them, no emotion whatsoever on his face. Piercing blue eyes attempted to look into his emotions, but Lash responded with his typical, flat red stare. The second was the person actually sitting at the desk, who appeared to be more curious than anything. He was clearly the one in command, and thereby the others present were likely irrelevant.
One of the stormtroopers stepped forward and addressed them.
"Sir, this is Mrirm'orlash'nuruodo, the Chiss who preformed the attack at the Carida academy. He stands accused of killing several First Order officers, including th head of the academy, and grievously injuring several of the instructors.

And ensuring you through the necessary education to become my Empress. The ceremony is already laid out and due to begin with a couple weeks... upon that day, we will be married, and you will be crowned Empress. . . Then... we can truly start our life together. Faina, having become comfortable with Nicademus that she has overcome her former tendency to, when their interactions had been colored by the fact she was acting in her official capacity, confine her remarks to strictly conveying what was necessary in a professional, often rather dry fashion, laughs when Nicademus suggests that the fact Brock is the best choice as steward will mean they therefore enjoy peace of mind regarding his appointment, crinkling her nose as she jokes, "Peace of mind may be going a bit too far, love. You have met the man, yes? Patting Nicademus's knee with a smile to indicate she is mostly joking, Faina moves on to the subject of formal wear, arching an eyebrow inquisitively - after smiling happily as he speaks of beginning their lives together - as she asks, Will I even need formal wear? I assumed I would be wearing my armor for the ceremony, she explains, canting her head to the side as, realizing that she may have assumed incorrectly, she follows the statement up with a question that also reveals her less than favorable opinion of the idea of having to wear a formal gown when her life has been one that has seldom required her to don formal attire, Or would something frilly and formal be more appropriate, or something you would prefer me in?"

"Sir, this is Mrirm'orlash'nuruodo, the Chiss who preformed the attack at the Carida academy. He stands accused of killing several First Order officers, including the head of the academy, and grievously injuring several of the instructors. Nicademus sat ever quietly behind his desk when a Chiss was escorted into his room. His brother, who stood beside him, Grand Marshal Baltasar had ensured that the Emperor was aware of the situation that happened on New Carida. Witness testimonies, recordings, and the likes were put before the Emperor as material was reviewed ahead of the prisoner's transfer. Nicademus remained silent as the Stormtrooper reported the incident upon the prisoner's arrival. The Emperor's gaze glances momentarily at the soldier before turning back to Chiss. Is it not law, within the Empire, that Chiss be treated as equals, trooper? And yet, the headmaster and the staff kept this Chiss as a prisoner of war when war was done and concluded.Slowly, the Emperor's gaze turns back to the soldier, hearing nothing but silence.I have read the records. What the headmaster did was ensure a ticking time bomb within his academy. Arrest his accomplices and ensure a new staff is placed within the Academy, Grand Marshal.Nicademus says to Baltasar who bows to the Emperor. Nicademus then looks at the Chiss.Yet... why kill them, Mrirm'orlash'nuruodo? Why kill the headmaster? Surely you could have reported him instead.Yet the way the Headmaster was killed was not like some ordinary thug. Reports of assassin droids used against the headmaster... how could have the Chiss done this? Will I even need formal wear? I assumed I would be wearing my armor for the ceremony, she explains, canting her head to the side as, realizing that she may have assumed incorrectly, she follows the statement up with a question that also reveals her less than favorable opinion of the idea of having to wear a formal gown when her life has been one that has seldom required her to don formal attire, Or would something frilly and formal be more appropriate, or something you would prefer me in?" This was indeed quite the question. As the former Empress had various clothing herself, but never once a formal wear or wardrobe for being an Empress. Illaria had taken the title for the sake of being the chosen lover of Nicademus, but he was still the face of the Empire during that time. Now, things were different. Not only would his face be seen, but also Faina too. She would need something formal when her roles of Empress called for it. The Emperor remains silent, but it was obvious that he was in a deep and contemplative state of mind. The only record of a formal wear that I have been aware of is that of Marasiah Fel, the Empress of the first Fel Empire after Roan. I believe she wore a white formal wear with a cloak and gold embroidery. The cape had a purple embroidery on the under side. A simple gold band was across her head, indicating her status as a member of the Fel Dynasty. Her mother and father both wore some sort of ceremonial armor though... if memory is correct. He looks at Faina after drinking from his glass. Nicademus seemed to think some more before speaking further.But... I have to admit that I am uncertain of what should be the formal wear of an Empress. Your predecessor didn't have such a standard. And, after all, you will likely be setting the standard for future Empresses to come. For whoever will reign alongside Octavian, and those after, will likely look to your style and fashion for ideas.Considering the style of himself, and his opinion towards too lavish styles, the Emperor thought of an idea.I do have a suggestion in mind... perhaps a crimson dress might work. Nothing too decorative, a perfect shade of crimson, but a dress adorned with a golden emblem of the First Order. In a way, it represents two parts of you, Faina, the Empress and the Grandmaster. The emblem represents the former while the color represents the latter. One is your future and the other your origin.Nicademus thought the symbolism of his suggestion was good enough for Faina. The color representing one part of her and the emblem representing who she had become. The Emperor felt it was symbolic enough. True, she could easily where her armor, Faina was a warrior like Illaria after all. Yet, not all Empresses after Faina and Illaria would be warriors. The dress would work nonetheless.Crimson does look good on you. It always has. I don't see you wearing black as I do.Nicademus chuckles and smiles at Faina, reaching his hand around her once more, pulling the female close to kiss her cheek and give his signs of affection to her. He hoped Faina would like his suggestion on the formal wear for her coronation, and likely, what she would wear as Empress on a regular basis. Aside from her armor of course.
