“Oh, I would be happy to wait here. Perhaps I will do some more sparring in a little while.” He turned to Faina. “If you wouldn’t mind, I have some... business to discuss with you.”

They are all guilty of breaking their oaths, of casting their honor aside. Nicademus may not officially hold the title of Emperor, but it is to him that the Imperial Knights swear fealty. Breaking an oath of fealty can be punished in only one way." Wow.... just wow. It's very hard for Brock to wrap his mind around all of this information all at once. The distrust of darksiders he can understand, even sympathize with, but assassination and kidnapping? What possible justification could anyone in the order have for such drastic measures. Unless Nicademus truly had fallen deep under the influence of the darkside. He mulls over that thought for a moment before shaking his head, still obviously lost in his own thoughts. No, he wouldn't believe that of his old friend, and even if he did think Nicadmus was capable of letting that happen, Faina's obvious support would disprove that in his eyes any day. His belief in his soon to be Emporer and in his friend and Grandmaster leave him only one choice realy.Sighing loudly he rubs his temples for a moment before speaking, his tone resigned.Yes, of course I will come with you. Could this really be happening, is he really volunteering to go after members of his own order, possibly friends and respected members, of course he was, it was what was asked of him by his friend and of the man he swore fealty to years and years ago. I'm afraid that I might have to kill more than one friend before this is over, but I will come with you Fai. Far too many Knights he had known in his career were likely to have the views that would cause this sort of response, and many of them were strong enough in their beliefs that they would be prone to thinking that drastic action was the only kind. How many are we going after, and is this an execution or an arrest? He would support his friend no mater the odds or the method, but he would like to know as much as he could. If he was going to do this, it was going to get done right. Of course he still wasn't sure if this whole venture was the right thing, but no matter what it was still necessary, and Brock would do his duty.

“Oh, I would be happy to wait here. Perhaps I will do some more sparring in a little while.” He turned to Faina.“If you wouldn’t mind, I have some... business to discuss with you.” Nodding when Raith says that he prefers to wait at the Tower, Faina says, "Of course, and then turns to tell Konstantyn, Comm me when you have finished, and I will let you know where to find the Commander."
Konstantyn bows to Faina and Raith, and then makes his way towards a staircase nearby to head for his quarters, where he will be performing the purification of the lightsaber.
After Konstantyn has left them, Faina arches an eyebrow inquisitively as she asks Raith, "You said you had some business to discuss, Commander?" Yes, of course I will come with you . . . I'm afraid that I might have to kill more than one friend before this is over, but I will come with you Fai. . .How many are we going after, and is this an execution or an arrest? Faina nods when Brock says that he is willing to stand beside her as he has so many times in the past, unable to take as much comfort in that fact as she has due to the grim nature of what they must do, and feeling more than a little guilty that must ask him to share the burden of what she feels must be done with her, no matter how willingly he does so.
"Seventeen, Faina answers the first of his questions, her usual dry tone laced with equal measures of disgust and sadness; disgust that so many of their comrades have proven disloyal and cast a shadow over the Imperial Knights as a whole, and sadness that it has fallen to her to be the one who has been chosen to decide their fates. There is only a cold resolve in her tone, however, when Faina answers his second question with a single word, her eyes revealing that nothing will sway her from the finality of her decision now that it has been made, Execution."
In some ways the decision had been made for her, for the Supreme Commander's mandate was crystal clear where the matter of how any traitors she discovered were to be dealt with, and yet it is ultimately Faina who must bear the burden of the decision; for it is she that chooses to follow the mandate, and to carry it out by her own hand in this instance, as she already has in others. Brock, Commander Foresi, and the other Imperial Kinghts and Shadowtroopers will be there to aid her in carrying out the sentences that Faina has handed down, but they do so at her behest, and Faina knows that, however justified the punishments, she will bear the weight of each and every death that will result from her orders tonight to her grave.

“Indeed.” Taking a holoprojector out of his pocket, he entered a code into it, activating it. This projector itself displayed the distribution of First Order resources between the three Force-Using factions: the Knights of Ren (displayed in yellow), the Sith (displayed in red), and the Imperial Knights (displayed in silver). The slice allocated to the Imperial Knights was less then that of the other two. “As you can see, the amount of manpower and resources devoted to the Imperial Knights is... not reflective of the organizations true value. With your approval, I have assembled a unit that I would like to use to assist the Imperial Knights and Commander Forsei.”

There is only a cold resolve in her tone, however, when Faina answers his second question with a single word, her eyes revealing that nothing will sway her from the finality of her decision now that it has been made, Execution." Brock's momentary shock at the number is sobered in the next breath by the inevitable second answer. Seventeen Knights had betrayed their oaths, seventeen... That is almost half the order, or at least would have been almost half the order before Brock had left. Any sense of joy from the usually upbeat Imperial Knight is completely gone. Replaced by sober acceptance. He would do this, he could do this, and it was his duty to do this. Beyond the request coming from his most trusted friend, it was also his duty as an Imperial Knight, by his own oath, to carry out the will of the Supreme commander. The crimes, either committed or just talked about, were acts of treason. He would be Faina's sword in this matter, taking as much of the burden as he could manage, small though that part may be. Unable to bring a smile to his face he instead pauses for a moment locking his brown eyes on hers, just looking at her for a moment before speaking. I will help you with this task. He pauses for a moment. But I have a couple conditions. Yes this wasn't exactly a negotiation and it was probably improper to give terms to your superior, but Brock takes this entire mission as a special case. You give me a side and I will hold it... alone.Although he hadn't gotten the full details of the mission he assumed it involved a building or some other structure that could be surrounded. You may position soldiers with me if you feel that I can't hold it on my own or if you feel like you can't trust me not to let anyone get away, but they will be under strict orders only to engage if I fall. Yes, this was absolutely not the way one should speak to their commander, but there was no way he was watching Imperial Knights, even oath breakers, be gunned down by soldiers. He had decided to do this, and he would let their blood be on HIS hands, it was the least they deserved.

“As you can see, the amount of manpower and resources devoted to the Imperial Knights is... not reflective of the organizations true value. With your approval, I have assembled a unit that I would like to use to assist the Imperial Knights and Commander Forsei.” Nodding that she has understood what the data indicates, which is not surprising to Faina if her expression is any indicator, Faina nods a second time, indicating that she has understood what he has offered without revealing any hint as to her thoughts about the subject, after Raith has made his proposal. That the Imperial Knights have less resources and manpower than the other Force Sensitive allies of the First Order is of less concern to Faina than the possible reasons for the disparity; and while she hopes that the recent culling of the disloyal and treacherous from the ranks of the Imperial Knights will prove to the recently declared Emperor that they exist to protect and serve that he can trust and rely on the Imperial Knights implicitly, Faina cannot deny the allure of adding to the resources of the Imperial Knights, for anything that strengthens them will, in turn, strengthen th Emperor.
Her tone, for once, indicating interest rather than little at all about her thoughts or feelings, Faina says, "Tell me more about this unit, Commander. How large is it, what assets does it have at its disposal, and what would you need from the Imperial Knights were I to accept your proposal?" I will help you with this task. . .But I have a couple conditions. . . Aside from an inquisitively arched eyebrow accompanying the rise of her left hand to invite Brock to make his conditions known, Faina has no discernible reaction to, in essence, being told what Brock will permit in terms of support from Commander Foresi and her fellow Shadowtroopers; her trust in him and his abilities so great that she takes no time at all in determining her reply, a simple, "Done."
Looking towards Commander Foresi, Faina says, "No changes then, Commander. You and your team will cover all of the exterior exit points while we go in and deal with the traitors. If any attempt to escape, and there is no immediate sign of pursuit, shoot to kill. Aside from Brock rounding out the number of Imperial Knights executing the traitors to an even four and relieving Faina of the task of covering the entire south wall on her own, little needs to be adjusted in the overall plan; Commander Foresi and her team never intended to aid in the executions, and only present to prevent any cowards from fleeing the warehouse before their sentences can be carried out. Returning her attention to Brock, Faina says, Once inside, you will hold the south east corner while I hold the south west. Velia and Savin will hold the north. The plan is that we will all try to lead the battle to the center of the room so that we can, together, deal with any traitors who survive to that point."
Trained, as most Imperial Knights are, in Praetori Vonil and Praetoria Ishu, Faina anticipates the traitors will also attempt to work as a team when and wherever possible; and as much faith as she has in her own abilities and those of Imperial Knights she has selected to stand with her, Faina knows that, in the face of such odds as those they will be facing, their chances of success will greatly increase if they control the battle enough that they are near enough to one another to fight as a team rather than as individuals.

The plan is that we will all try to lead the battle to the center of the room so that we can, together, deal with any traitors who survive to that point." Brock visibly relaxes as Faina accepts his terms, sitting back in his chair as the Grandmaster of the Imperial Knights lays out the basics of the plan to purge their order of traitors. He had been pretty sure that Faina would exceed to his demands but a part of him had been afraid she would not. He was surprised to discover that fear came from not wanting to be left out of the mission. While it would have made things easier if he was not present for such a difficult deed he knew that he would never have let Faina go into that without him present, even if she hadn't agreed to his terms. He had no doubts about her capabilities as a warrior, having seen them first hand more times than he could count, but he would always have a drive to protect her, and he knew her chances were better with him there than they would be if he stayed behind. Four against seventeen though, those weren't very good odds though, even if it was four of the best fighters the Imperial Knights had ever produced. The other side was bound to have ringers as well. Even so he believed they could do it, even if some of that was residual belief from days gone by when he believed he and Faina could take on the galaxy on their own if they were asked to.It will be as you command. He manages only the barest ghost of his usual smile as he puts every bit of good humor he has left after talking about such a grim subject into making his tone as supplicating as possible. It would be one of the hardest missions he had ever managed, both from a militaristic and ideological standpoint, but he would do it. He would execute as many traitors as he could, and he'd keep Faina alive, his own life was inconsequential so long as those goals are met.

Ferrum's agreement, after he gets some clarification and does a bit of haggling with Nikulin about what conditions he imposes on his agreement, seems to conclude the mission planning, and so Nicolina stands up and sketches a quick salute to both Imperial Knights as she says, "I'll go brief my team, let 'em know we have a new addition to the op. We'll be in our positions at 22:00 as planned. Good to meet you, she tells Ferrum, circumstances notwithstanding."
Rolling her neck from side to side after the goodbye for nows are all wrapped up and she has left the room, Nicolina starts heading towards the exit. While she can understand why Nikulin, Ferrum and the other Imperial Knights that are part of the op are all dead set on handling the elimination of the operation's targets by themselves from a purely philosophical standpoint, Nicolina herself would think increasing the op's chances of success by utilizing her team for more than just dealing with any traitors that try to run would come before personal philosophical aesthetics. Not her call, Nicolina thinks, not wanting to go down the rabbit hole that worrying about things that won't change no matter how much you worry about them opens up. Having been in the military since she was eighteen, Nicolina knows that sometimes defending the Empire means doing things that leave a bad taste in the mouth for one reason or another, and has made peace with the fact that doing her job will sometimes involve things that are liable to haunt her if she dwells on them. Which is why, Nicolina thinks to herself with a mental chuckle, she avoids all the navel gazing and tortured introspection she can. Alcohol helps too.
Once outside the tower, Nicolina gets into her speeder and sets out for where her team is assembling before the op.

Nodding without smiling when Brock affirms his understanding of the plan, the nature of their task preventing her from permitting a smile of gratitude that he will be with her as it is carried out, Faina inclines her head in a bow as Commander Foresi takes her leave, "Until tonight then, Commander."
Watching the gloved prosthetic fingers of her left hand curl and unfurl, the restless compulsion to move the fingers almost as though to verify that they are hers to command one that Faina has yet to rid herself of after her arm was replaced with the prosthetic, Faina tells Brock, "You should get some rest, and then, willing herself to stop clenching and unclenching her fingers, sighs heavily and laughs without any amusement as she adds, If you can rest, that is. She is not sure that she can still her thoughts long enough to rest, no matter how sound the reasoning that resting before what they must do is, and Faina knows Brock well enough that she cannot see him doing so either. Reaching for a datapad laying on her desk, Faina brings up a schematic of the shipping warehouse the meeting of the traitors will be held in and then slides it across the desk for Brock, explaining, That is where the meeting is taking place. The ground floor has a large clearing in the center of the main storage area, and that is where Velia and Savin have told the traitors to meet them. Walking around the desk to point out the areas she mentions as they come up, Faina continues, Velia will hold the northeastern corner here, and Savin the northwestern here. There are two exits on the ground floor, one at the northeast and the other to the southeast, but reaching them requires getting past one of us and then moving through the hallways beyond the central area. Commander Foresi and her team will be covering the exits, however, so even if anyone manages to make it past us one way or another, they will not make it far if they make it outside the warehouse."

Brock nods to the commander as she makes her way out of the room before turning back to Faina as she explains the plan.It was a grim task to be sure, but at least it was well thought out. He had a feeling it wouldn't last very long, but it'd be bloody for sure. They weren't going to just cruise through this one.As she finishes going over the plan with him he stands up and starts making his way toward the door.Until tonight. He pauses for a moment before turning back to her.It really is good to see you again, even if it is under these circumstances. He nods to her before he makes his way out of her office. She is right about him not being able to take any rest before such a task, far too much weighs on his mind so instead he resolves to make his way back to his ship and prepare his kit for this unfortunate mission.

"Even if," Faina echoes, managing a small smile to make up for her brevity. While it would have better for him if Brock had returned a day or more later than he has, Faina is grateful that she will have him at her side for what is to come, as guilty and selfish as she feels for the thought.
Walking back to the window, Faina looks outside of it without really seeing the city below, mentally preparing herself, inasmuch as it is possible to do so at all, for what she must do.
Only when the time arrives for her to leave for the shipping yards where Velia and Savin have arranged to meet with the traitors does Faina turn from the window and, her expression icy and grim yet resolved, leaves the Tower to meet with Commander Foresi and Brock.

“I would not need anything extra, seeing as a complete unit has already been assembled. It is big enough to fit any need you might have.” He pulled up some readouts displaying the strength of his forces. Letting Faina examine them, he spoke after she had been given ample time. “Is it to your liking?”

Striding into the tower, Korr was greeted by the familiar sight of the entrance area. Oddly enough, instead of heading to the training area for a few hours, she headed towards her quarters. The trip and mission had taken their toll on her. Stripping off her armor, clothes, and undergarments, she stepped into the shower and turned on the water, letting the cool liquid flow over her bare skin. The Temptress had bathing facilities, but water needed to be conserved on long trips, and she could not take the time she needed to unwind in the few minutes afforded for showering. Each drop of the clear liquid gave her an increased feeling of clarity, something she hadn’t possessed fully for possibly the last month. After about 20 minutes, she stepped out of the shower and, donning a towel, stepped into her room. Selecting a simple outfit consisting of a black training unitard that covered her full body and a set of trainers, she stepped out into the hallway, her hair still damp, and began to simply roam the tower again, getting reacquainted with the space that she held so dearly to her.

“I would not need anything extra, seeing as a complete unit has already been assembled. It is big enough to fit any need you might have.” He pulled up some readouts displaying the strength of his forces. Letting Faina examine them, he spoke after she had been given ample time.“Is it to your liking?” Taking a few moments to study the readouts before answering, lifting her right hand and resting her chin atop the fingers after curling it into a loose fist, Faina reviews the information about the unit Commander Tagge proposes to use to assist the Imperial Knights. Once she has thoroughly reviewed the readouts and concluded that the unit, comprised of troops with skill-sets and training that suggest the unit is flexible enough to suit multiple types of operational needs ranging from simple assault to covert, Faina says, "Very much so, Commander. Lowering her right hand, looking down as she tugs her glove on more tightly and then adjusts the straps of her gauntlet, Faina says, With the recent signing of the peace treaty, it may be some time before the unit is needed, but it would be ideal to have at least a few joint training exercises. Foster a sense of team unity, she explains in her usual dry tone, relatively certain Commander Tagge will understand the reasoning without the need for her to spell it out but not wanting to court the all too common mistake of equating assumption with confirmation, and lay the foundation for learning to work in concert with one another." The sort of relationship and ability to work as a well oiled machine Faina has in mind takes time to build, and considerable effort to maintain, and it is her belief that beginning the endeavor as soon as possible would be ideal.
Tilting her head to the side at an inquisitive angle, Faina asks, "Will you be leading the unit personally, Commander?"
As she awaits Commander Tagge's reply, Faina observes . . .. . . Korr. . . began to simply roam the tower again, getting reacquainted with the space that she held so dearly to her. Recognizing Knight Korr after a moment due to her recent efforts to familiarize herself with the dossiers of all prominent, active Imperial Knights stationed on Muunilinst, Faina can recall little of Knight Korr's background save that her homeworld is Raxus Secundus. Nodding a silent greeting to Knight Korr, Faina remembers that Korr has been away from Muunilinst, deployed on missions taking her to other worlds for some time, and so adds a verbal greeting as well, "Welcome home, Knight Korr."

“Thank you, Grandmaster. It is an honor to see you again.” Faina had always been the sort of person that Korr respected for their efficiency and ability to detach themselves from emotion. She was never capable of full detachment, and often was somewhat jealous of others who could. She didn’t let that get in the way of friendships. She had lucky not neglected to carry her lightsaber with her, since she always maintained the appearance of being on guard to other people. A disciplined, cool headed individual, she would always maintain her composure, never being knocked off her feet. And yes, the day would come when she would face an adversary who could defeat her. But when that day came, she would be ready for them. Today was probably the only day in her career that she had dropped her extreme training in favor of enjoying the simple pleasures of returning home and seeing old friends again. “What events have occurred here on Muunilist in my absence?”

Faina arches an eyebrow when Knight Korr asks what has occurred while she was away, the question one that might, depending on what Charratha did or did not learn while away or since her return to Muunilinst, require a lengthy answer given how many significant events have occurred. With no way to ascertain what Knight Korr has or has not heard of, Faina elects to answer with her customary brevity at first, expanding on her descriptions of any of the events she mentions if Charratha indicates it is necessary to do so.
Leading with the most significant events, Faina begins by saying in her usual even, somewhat dry way, "I imagine that the news of the First Order being declared an Empire with Nicademus as our Emperor reached you even before your return? We have also signed a peace treaty with the Galactic Alliance that ends open hostilities. The slight tightening of her jaw is the only indication that Faina finds her next news far less palatable than what she has just shared, Closer to home, we recently uncovered several traitors in our ranks that have since been executed." As with her other news, Faina suspects that Knight Korr will have already heard of her discovery and subsequent elimination of the Imperial Knights that betrayed their oaths, but just as she saw no need to go about that distasteful task in the shadows, and was upfront with the Imperial Knights who upheld their oaths and honor despite the fact she knew not all of them would understand or support her decision, she sees no need to do so now.
After giving Knight Corr time to ask any questions or to request additional details, Faina asks after Knight Korr's recent activities prior to her return to Muunilinst, "I trust your endeavors while away met with success?"

Although she had trained specifically to repress such emotions, Charratha felt a surge of anger flow through her briefly at the mention of traitors. So the rumors were true. She knew very well of the dissent amongst the ranks; not in the least because of the traitorous Grandmaster. Even so, she couldn’t help but feel this anger. They were disgraces to the Imperial Knights, violating the honor which they so fought to defend. They had violated their oaths, and had tarnished the name of the Imperial Knights. If there was any upside to this news, it was that the traitors had been killed. She had always shown a devotion to the Imperial Knights, she owed her life to them. So such stories would always anger her, that the pathetic creatures could throw away everything that they stood for just like that. These were the sort of things that made her loose the cool that she kept about her in almost every aspect of her life. “I have not disappointed you, my mission was a success. Admittedly, we did face several complications that drew out the mission, leading to my belated arrival here on Muunilist, and I apologize for that. However, overall the mission did complete its ultimate objective.”

After a particular loud discussion with the Emporer Brock had spent nearly a day in one of the tower's training rooms, doing everything from weapons training to just running circle, anything to work his frustrations out. Eventually he was able to center himself at least partially and he made his way to the showers. After a long hot shower only mostly filled with dark thoughts he dried himself off and put on a clean set of crimson Imperial Knight armor on, since his more usual white and gold armor was still sitting in a pile in the corner of his borrowed rooms, still bloody and dirty. He hadn't been in a good place when he cast it aside before his extended gym session and he wasn't exactly looking forward to going back there and taking care of them, so instead he began wondering the halls.
After a quick stop for some food he didn't even taste he spotted Faina. He couldn't help but feel a pang as memories started to flood into his mind, ones he'd rather not live again. It was unfortunate that that was his reaction to seeing his friend but the wounds were still too fresh to avoid that, but he'd be damned if he'd star avoiding her just because of something they both had to do. As he makes his way over he is distracted from his unusually dark mood as he recognizes the woman she's talking too.Well that's an unexpected surprise, how have you been? He interrupts the conversation, not intentionally being rude, but as always forgetting to give proper respect and decorum. It had been before his own extended mission to the Unknown Regions that he had seen Charratha Korr but it was definitely nice to see a friendly face, especially one that he isn't in the middle of removing from the person it belongs to.An involuntary shudder goes through him as that thought passes through him and his usually jovial smile disappears as his brown eyes momentarily fade out from the two woman as if seeing a ghost behind them, which in his own head he almost was.

Charratha had just finished explaining what had happened on her mission to Grandmaster Nikulin when a familiar brown-eyed Knight interrupted them Brock Ferrum. He had always been a forward one, speaking his mind, never bothering with formalities. That forwardness is what made him such a good friend. She saw it in him the moment they had met all those years ago. How things had changed since then. Yet even still, the man stood as a beacon for everything the Imperial Knights stood for. It was good to know that even in these times, she could count on like minded individuals that she would be proud to have stand by her side any battle. And that they could be counted on to triumph, no matter the difficulty. Yet... he seemed perturbed. As though he had seen a ghost. This hurt her, and she decided that she would do her best to help him out in his time of sadness. "Knight Brock? It's certainly been a while. How have you been?"

Faina shakes her head with a rare, albeit brief smile when Charratha apologizes needlessly for her belated return, reassuring her, "There is nothing to apologize for. You did your duty, and that is not always accomplished within the time frame allotted for doing so." Not known for being particularly verbose, her verbal style tending towards the concise, Faina is grateful when Brock's arrival relieves her of the need to question whether or not something more needs be said to Knight Korr to congratulate her on the success of her mission.
Understanding all too well how her presence is, and may always be, an unwelcome reminder of the odious task they saw through together, Faina inclines her head in a silent greeting to Brock when he joins them, even managing the ghost of a smile intended to convey to him that she shares the sentiments she can sense within him and can see in his expression, including the refusal to permit their shared traumatic experience from coming between them even if, for now, they may need some time apart to come to terms with their own emotional responses to it.
Taking a step back and bowing at the waist to bid Brock and Charratha farewell, gathering from their interaction that they know one another well and not wanting to intrude upon their reunion, Faina says, "You two have some catching up to do no doubt, so I will leave you to it," and then, not one to dwell upon partings that are sure to be only temporary, turns and makes her way towards the personal quarters she maintains in the Tower even though Nicademus has recently assigned her quarters and office space in High Port so that she can more easily coordinate the efforts of the Imperial Knights and Commander Foresi's Shadowtroopers, with whom she has worked closely ever since becoming an Imperial Knight.
