The Third Galactic Civil WarPlanning and Discussion Thread The Republic is no more. The Empire is gone. The galaxy has been left to the designs of local rulers across the stars. Coruscant is no longer the capital of a galactic spanning nation. The Republic, bastion of democracy and freedom, was forced into dissolution by the first and only act of Supreme Chancellor Standash Thul. Their remnants fragmented and scattered among the various systems of known space. The Empire, a centralized authority that struck fear across the galaxy, wither and declined until the last reincarnation was dissolved by its second and final Emperor, who vanished into the Outer Rim. There is no central authority, no galactic government to see to the needs of the people who live among the many stars. The stars are left to fend for themselves. Out of the ashes of these two nations, new shapes have begun to form. Gears have started to turn the engines that drove them to motivate successors. The Jedi Order, centralized for the first in generations by the Felucian Enclave, have begun the great task of once more becoming peacekeepers to the galaxy and seeking to knit back the many stars that have grown distant from one another. Through the machinations of Jedi Master Aerandir Calmcacil and by the support of those who are like-minded, an old flag has been lifted high upon the planet of Mon Calamari. An Alliance, formed out of the fragments of the Republic, supported by Jedi and augmented by others like-minded, has been forged to quell a great darkness that looms on the horizon. In the most remote sector of the Outer Rim, in an area bordering the Unknown Regions, the Imperial Sector, fresh standards have been revealed. By the designs and efforts of Nicademus Delvardus - the Last Emperor - who in using his cultivated influence to marshal the Imperial Armed Forces, has declared the formation of the First Order. Supported by the mysterious sect known as the Knights of Ren and most prestigious Imperial Knights, the First Order erupted forth from the Imperial Sector. Their armies and fleets striking at neighboring systems and forcing all to kneel before their rule or die at the hands of their invaders. The Unknown Region has been carefully invaded by the reorganized Imperial forces as system after the system is brought, by force, under the regime of the First Order. They seek order by force, an end to defiance and the destruction of their enemies. The sudden appearance of the Knights of Ren concerned the Jedi. Reports over HNN of systems being attacked around the Imperial Sector and warlords across the galaxy becoming emboldened by the successes of this Imperial resurgence have further brought concerns and uncertainty to the Jedi, forcing Aerandir and his fellow Jedi to act quickly. Even as the Jedi and the Alliance begin the foundations of their resistance and actions against the First Order, Imperial forces encroach closer and closer to Jedi-controlled space within the Outer Rim. The Supreme Commander's eyes have set upon Dantooine, a solitary target that is slowly being cornered and surrounded by the expansionist policies of the Imperial faction. War is on the horizon. A war unlike any other since the Second Galactic Civil War, and the preceding Yuuzhan Vong Invasion. Not since those days has galactic authority crumbled and new factions rose to challenge one another for dominance over the stars. There are doubts and uncertainties of what is to come. Will the Jedi and their Alliance prevail over the darkness and bring back peace once more or will the First Order conquer all before them, bringing a new era of Imperialism and Order to the galaxy? ================================================ Welcome one and all to the forum-wide event that has been brewing since before the release of Episode VII, the Force Awakens. This war has been the cooperation of many players, many who know who they are and those who have helped directly and indirectly. At this moment, I would like to thank all who have helped and those who will participate for making this possible. It has been a long time since we have had such a large portion of the community support this idea and seek a means to bring this war plot closer and closer. Now, we are still in the planning stages. There are still a few things that need to be discussed and agreed upon (although there will be some regulations that will be brought forth immediately). Please, take your time, everyone who is participating. We want this war to start as badly as you want, but we wanna make this start off on the right foot and propel us down a long storyline that will shape the future of the galaxy as we know it! Remember everyone, we are here to have fun and enjoy a grand event together! Cooperation is key to the success of this forum storyline and we want you all being on the same side (not same side of the war that is, but you get what I mean!). I will update this post and a couple reserve spots below as more information pours in.

Basic Need-to-Know 1. This war can only be successful if writers on both sides cooperate. That means all must be respectful to one another. Please PM appropriate writers for anything. Disputes must be done in a civilized manner either in this thread or through a PM with someone to act as a mediator (myself or Aer are good choices as we are the leaders of both factions).
2. I am sorry to those who may have desired to act as a third party or neutral side of the war, but it has been decided that this cannot be allowed. Writers must either side with the First Order/Knights of Ren or the Jedi/the Alliance. Anyone who does not participate in this war shall be consider neutral. Anyone who is neutral (that means not a part of this war) may still interact with either side in terms of daily interaction or specific storylines.
However, We may allow a short term neutrality to new players who are undecided on which side to join, but you must either be Imperial-aligned or Jedi/Alliance-aligned. Anyone who holds off on choosing a side will be asked, politely, to rejoin when a decision is made.
3. There will be an etiquette to this war and among the community who participate. - No unnecessary or rude comments to one another, constructive criticism is welcomed. - Please, don't be an OOC dick. If you wanna be a dick OOC, then find another group. - PM people and remain cooperative and flexible. Anything can happen and sudden changes should be discussed. - COOPERATION IS KEY!! This war will not last without either side cooperating OOCly. If you are gonna lose a battle, don't be stubborn. Accept the loss and try better next time. - Please obey the rules on Common OOC Courtesy to one another. Let's be civil OOC and keep the belligerence for the IC side of us.
4. There will be some regulations/rules on a number of things to come, but they will be reasonable.

The Quincy throw their name into the hat - though we're still somewhat undecided as to who we will support, or whether we'll be a more third party type.

We're keeping it simple between the Rebels/Jedi and the First Order/Knights of Ren. Sorry, but there won't be any third party factions/sides involved in the conflict. Business-wise? Most likely.

*Shrugs* Then business-wise we will participate. Perhaps joining the Alliance considering their multi-cultural nature.

If there are any disputes in regards to combat the GBA judges will gladly become involved, and together can figure out the best way to proceed.

Right, I have characters on both sides of this. For the FO I have Marcos. With the Alliance I have Mig. undecided or not involved are Resi (soon to be former, so no point picking a side), the admiral himself (leaning RA), & Aya (business is Business, maybe leaning FO but could go either way).

Something I want to throw out there real fast to clear up any confusion hopefully: Neither side is aware of each other's existence yet. The most the Rebel Alliance has on the First Order is that the Imperials are attempting some kind of resurgence, but the name "First Order" isn't known. On the other end of the coin, the First Order knows pretty much nothing of the Rebel Alliance. So I wanted to get that out there because there've been a few minor misconceptions and I'm hoping to clear further ones out before they show up.
Once the Dantooine engagement happens, however, then we'll know each other by name.

I wish to be involved. Although not IC knowledge Steffo is on the road to becoming a Jedi Shadow and remaining listed as MIA/KIA is bedrock to this. So I will be operating in a more stealthy manner. I am sure we can discuss some insurgent type of scenario or attempting to discover more and gather Intel.

I posted in another thread about my mando character but I'll post here again. My alt Kaalin Karr is looking to team up with some Rebel special forces for some small strikes on Imperial Targets, or anything similar to that. Nothing to big, maybe 3-4 Rebel writers. If there are any Imperial members who would like to oppose this conflict, feel free to PM me or reply here.

Okay kind of feel like I have to reiterate this again. Even though its been said numerous times before.
The First Order name is not known yet. It has been decided that the faction's name, First Order, will become public knowledge after their attack on Dantooine.
Please, we ask that any and all future posts do not state knowledge of the First Order name as we are still in the pre-Dantooine stage. The whole point is to surprise the galaxy, IC, with the First Order's declaration of war and their first galactic appearance as the successor of the Galactic Empire.
Thank you.

I wasn't planning on attacking FO targets until after they've established themselves. Otherwise whats the point, I would have no knowledge IC of what the FO is doing.

Actually, Nic....SOME of us know the First Order name, and that it exists. The Wayward Son Crew, along with Adi, were on Bastion when they annexed the place. It was a planetwide broadcast, and our crew was most certainly there. Its not totally unknown, but our crew isn't exactly broadcasting things out, either. They just see the First Order as another group trying to make a name for themselves. Not to mention, Adi doesn't really give a hoot about galactic politics atm anyway. Its going to take something close to home to pull him into the Galactic Civil War...which is in the works right now.

Adi, I am already aware that you guys know about the FO. That's been established and discussed about at length. Your group has already been made as an exception.
I am talking about everyone else who DOESN'T know about the FO. All they can tell is that there is some Imperial activity within the Outer Rim.

Some good news! We are getting much closer to the beginning of the Third Galactic Civil War. With the Garqi Heist approaching its end, it will take only days to finish the necessary preparations on both sides before the first contact between the First Order and the Jedi/Alliance on the planet of Dantooine.
Wanted to take this opportunity, in advance, to thank all who have given their effort to make this a reality! Give yourselves a pat on the back for your hard work and determination to bring this civil war alive.
