So, in light of the fact that a number of planet's are being archived based on the fact that JvS is now operating in the Legacy Era of the Legends timeline, with Byss, Ojom, and Sernpidal being the first to go, and the Whills working with a number of people to work out which planets should feel the chop, I figured now was a good time to get this thread going.
As it stands, JvS has had the same set of planets for close to a decade now, with very little change bar one or two planets. Now, what I am asking about, isn't an entire overhaul of all the planets, but perhaps a reshuffle of some planets that dont quite get a whole lot of use on JvS. There is already a number of candidate worlds, which could be switched out for new ones. But just what exactly those new ones are, is something I think would make for an interesting discussion, and if it gets enough support, could influence what happens.
With a few new comers trickling in with the release of Episode VII, I think it's important to take this moment to kind of 'cash' in a little on this new wave of interested writers. I want to make it clear, I'm not suggesting we switch over to movie canon entirely, because that would be extremely restrictive and we'd lose a lot of what we have. What I am suggesting though, and what some other like minded people are also suggesting, is an incorporation of a couple planets from 'Movie Canon', to help provide something more akin to a launching point for people. As it stands, we've already brought up our own versions of the First Order, Knights of Ren, and the Alliance/Rebel Alliance (the resistance is still a shitty name and everyone knows it). Now, the ones that would/should be considered, are Jakku, Takodana, and Lothal, specifically because they all are recognizable planets for new writer's who might be coming off of Episode VII or even Star Wars Rebels.
Now, we certainly have quite a list of planets from the EU, that we could use (like Zakuul, or Raxus Prime, etc), but I honestly think it might be good to have some of these newer places added. Honestly, it would be nice to hear what people's thoughts are (in a call and collected manner), and have some feedback from some of our recent acquisitions who might have found us are seeing episode VII or rebels.
