Hey! I'm new to this board (but not to RP), and the storylines that have been progressing here seem really interesting so far. Anyway, when I made my character I was interested in being a Councillor of Dantooine but I've since lost faith in the idea since the Enclave is already torn apart and it's not a good starting point for someone like me. I don't mean to get ahead of myself, but I feel that my character (a senior, more judgmental sort of Jedi) would work best in a position of relatively high authority. I'm not looking to be put on the High Council and I don't think I have the credentials, but if there's a vacant seat for a local Jedi Council for a planet that you guys could point me to/accept me in, that'd be appreciated. As far as what I've noticed goes, there's Telos IV, which seems to have almost no exposition (not even a planetary guide that I could find) despite having a Jedi Academy there (again, no exposition on its history) which only has one post and it's from three years ago. I was thinking I could be involved in trying to start things up again over there, but only if there's any other Jedi that would be interested in going there (RP'ing by yourself is lonely, after all).
If there's anything else to fill me in on or another RP role that you'd like to suggest to me, please feel free to do so.

The more active locations at the moment where the Jedi Order is concerned are probably Felucia, the central HQ for the Order, and Corellia. There are also Jedi temples or enclaves where smaller writing teams are established on the Forest Moon of Endor, Honoghr, Dantooine, and Umgul as well.
If jumping into the thick of things on Dantooine is not what you are looking for, you are welcome to write on Corellia at the academy there. To be honest, at the moment I believe I am the only one really active there, so if you are looking for something more hopping in terms of activity it might not be your cup of tea, but I would also be happy to write with you there as a means of getting your character set up for other things elsewhere if you'd like to just get your feet wet and your have your character get a background established and filled in on current events, etc. I don't see any problems with your idea to have your character start out in a leadership position of some kind, so we could also say your character has been invited to be a headmaster at the academy (Corellia doesn't have a council per se, rather a group of headmasters that manage the academy), and then have him assigned to wherever you might eventually decide you want to have him head, be it Telos IV as you suggested, or elsewhere.
In short, just let me know where you'd like to go and what you'd like to do and I will do my best to see that you get there and do it!

Thanks! I'm interested in being active here for the forseeable future.
Is there any specific about any of these temples/enclaves other than Felucia, or is it just location?
Well, how active you are and what type of story you're interested in may have an influence, but in general, absolutely, I'm willing to RP with anyone.
I know you said you're the only active person on Corellia, but if you could PM me some details about who else is involved and the type of characters there so I can get a good idea into how I should be RP'ing with them, that'd be great.
I'm fine with that. I do need colleagues for my character to be effective as well, of course. Telos seems nice because of its location but its pretty empty at the moment, so I'm only willing to go over there if there are other Jedi who are also interested in going there.

Well, as far as Honoghr is concerned, we're not a pure Jedi location. We don't owe any allegiance to the Jedi Order as a whole, we are just on friendly terms with them. We are more of a Grey Jedi/lightsider location. We don't follow the stringent teachings of the Jedi. We are an Order unto ourselves.

Welcome to JvS,
Considering that you have been wondering about those locations, while I will not speak for the others but just one, in this case Umgul, what I can tell you about Umgul;
- The Mist Order, and its Academy, is not part of the Unified Jedi Order, but consider the members of the Jedi Order as 'allies' and will come to their aid, and might call for some of its members aid whenever necessary.
- Umgul is factually neutral despite having its own Jedi Order there, a government runs the planet.
- Umgul as a whole, and its writers, is more into character development, one that you can read about on Umgul's Traveler's Guide, which is up to date.
Everything above is all IC wise standpoint and the last point is more leaning towards OOC and how we deal with RP.
OOC wise, considering that all of its writers are busy IRL, and I can definitely attest to that for knowing most intimately and IRL, we have a relaxed pace, and do not rush into posting at all, it's all about "post when you have the time" and more often than not, some plots/ SL drag on for a long time because again, we have a no stress policy. Conflict may happen, or whatever, but everything we do, it's more often than not into character development.
This may be a long winded explanation, and perhaps me stressing a lot of important points here about RP, and it is in no way to discourage anyone from RPing with us, but more us (the majority of the writers, if not all, of Umgul) expecting people to comprehend that we have RP in the backseats, and also us asking people that if they do want to join there, they will have to abide to certain rules that we have imposed on Umgul as being the ones who write there all the time.
That being said, I do hope that you find what you are looking for, and as such happy RP'ing when the time comes, also knowing from experience, if you do choose that route, you'll be in good hands with Serrin Roma too
