Fire and Ice During the First Order's conquest of the Chiss Ascendancy homeworld of Csilla, High Admiral Viox Savage initiated a daring micro-hyperspace jump into the planet's atmosphere. Trusting his apprentice, Cain Dracus and a handful of loyal First Order Stormtroopers, the High Admiral launches only two Gamma-Class Assault Transports to the surface. Shot down, outnumbered and trying to turn the tide of the battle, Cain released the virulent parasitic life form known as the Dracus on the frozen surface of Csilla in order to combat dwindling numbers. This is an archived entry of the events that took place on Csilla's surface.

First Order Mission Log: Dracus, Cain/Inspection/Service#C465546 Time: 0530 hours (Standard Military Time) Location: Chiss Capital Csaplar, Csilla, Unknown Regions. In the span of fifteen minutes, the Dracus Combat Forms had raced across the gap between the downed Gamma and the first line of Chiss Defenders. Despite taking several killing blows from a Charric, the Combat Forms merely staggered, but kept pressing. Some dozens of yards behind the Dracus line, the First Order Stormtroopers were pushing forward as well, backed by the air support of the lone Gamma-Class Assault Transport. With the greater majority of the Chiss spacecraft engaged with the First Order, there wasn't much in way of air support for the Chiss on the ground. Which suited Cain just fine. The red blade of his lightsaber wavered as he cut down another Chiss soldier. As he strode away from it, a small tentacled sack of flesh wandered up to the fallen Chiss. After crawling over the corpse, it pierced the flesh at the nape of the neck and slide a small, hollow bone spike into the cluster of nerves. The corpse began to twitch. As the Infection form took hold of the corpse's nervous system, it brought up three of its tentacles and began to burrow into the chest of the corpse. Had the soldier still been alive, it would have been a horribly painful process. The Infection form began to burrow under the flesh. As it did so, it began to shrink in size, crawling in between the ribs and finally taking up residence next to the heart. The corpse began to violently twitch now. As it did so, the Infection form secreted a green-brown sludge. The tentacles of the Infection form rapidly began spreading the sludge across the rib cage and over the now open wound in the chest. As the corpse rose up as a Dracus Combat form, the sludge hardened. This formed a protective cocoon around the relatively fragile Infection form, making it impervious to all physical trauma as well as any sort of blunt force. The cocoon was also highly resilient to blaster fire, especially small blasters. The Chiss Charric, however, would be able to punch through the cocoon. However, if one didn't know where to shoot, one could easily miss. Out of the ten infected Stormtroopers, three had fallen in the assault. Regardless, two of them had still held sufficient biomass to morph into a handful of Infection Forms. As this happened, Cain made sure that the Chiss were the targets, not the Stormtroopers. Even the fallen ones. He hadn't wanted to pervert the corpses of those who served him, but the infection needed to start somewhere. Now that there were enough fallen Chiss, Cain had a decently sized group of Combat Forms. Numbering at twenty eight in total, thirteen had been in good enough shape to still retain the host's ability to wield a blaster. Two had been operating one of the Megamaser batteries, which now had been turned against the Chiss. So out of the original force of eighty troopers, Cain had fifty-five still fighting, not counting the ten he had turned. Combined with the Gamma Transport and his twenty eight Dracus Combat Forms he actually had eighty-three infantry units on the ground right now. And the entrance to Csaplar was nearly under their control. With the ferocity and pure, unrelenting drive of the Dracus, Cain knew this wasn't going to take much longer. All he had to do was find the Chiss responsible for coordinating the defense of the capital.A massive explosion brought his attentions back to the battle at hand. One of the Megamaser batteries had just gone up, taking the gunnery crew with it. Beneath his helm, Cain grinned malevolently. He always enjoyed the rush and thrill that controlling the Dracus had brought him. With renewed vigor, Cain pushed harder against the collapsing Chiss defense. Soon he would have access to the capital. Soon.

First Order Imperial Navy Mission Log: High Admiral Savage/Inspection/Service#V1158969 Time: 0545 hrs (Standard Military Time) Location: Csilla's Orbit, Unknown Regions. Legacy of the Void engaged with Right Flank of Chiss Fleet. The battle-scarred and weary Legacy of the Void continued to press against the Right Flank of the Chiss Expeditionary Fleet. With the reformation of Void Command as well as the aid of Xakire's few ships, they had managed to push the line and slowly break it apart. With the arrival of reinforcements, the fresh and rested ships were able to press forward with an intense ferocity. This gave the worn and weary ships a small reprieve. It may not have been much, but it was enough to be exploited."Keep pressing the attack. Do not let up on the Chiss. Take from them everything and give them nothing in return!"The A.I knew that keeping morale and resolve high was a benefit. It kept the officers motivated to continue fighting.Meanwhile...Savage listened to the Supreme Commander speak. And unfortunately he didn't have a plan to get through the Chiss lines. Or more appropriately, his ship wouldn't take another one of his insane plans. He spoke to the Supreme Commander once more.Regardless of our situation in orbit, I am making you aware that once I can safely get to the surface, I will be taking my leave from orbit. My A.I has command of the Void and will continue to issue commands as I would in my absence. And with that, Savage terminated the link. As he strode over to his bunk, unbuttoning his uniform as we walked, the holo-pedestal near the desk sprang to life. Rampant's ghostly visage shimmered to life."Forgive the intrusion, sire. But it appears as though our reinforcements have arrived. If you wish to take your leave to the surface, now is the time."Savage, now donning his tunic and cloak, nodded in approval."Then I will be taking my leave. You have the helm. Inform my Special Operatives team that we are leaving the ship, and have a fighter squadron pulled to run as escort."The A.I bowed respectfully."I have already taken the liberty to do so sire. Six AAL's have been prepped as have 240 Sith Troopers of your Special Operatives Division. They will be waiting and ready by the time you arrive."Savage merely grinned malevolently, while striding out of his quarters and to the lift that would take him to the hangar bay. Things were about to get very interesting.

First Order Mission Log: Dracus, Cain/Inspection/Service#C465546 Time: 0630hrs (Standard Military Time) Location: Chiss Capital Csaplar, Csilla, Unknown Regions.
Within an hour of fully engaging the Chiss Defenses outside of the entrance to Csaplar, the First Order had secured the entrance. Drawing heavily on the dark side of the Force for sustenance, a weary Cain took a field report from Sergeant Marek.
Cain Dracus:"Status update, Sergeant."
There was a brief pause, and then the Sergeant spoke.
"Sir, we have successfully secured the entrance to the Capital. However, losses sustained during the engagement have left us short handed. The men we have left are barely enough to keep this entrance secured, should the Chiss mount a counter-offensive."
Beneath his helm, Cain frowned sourly. He had expected better than this from the First Order Stormtroopers.
Clearly the First Commissar needed to revise her training methods in a harsh environment. But that was something he would bring up at a later time, should he survive that long. Thinking quickly, he replied to the Sergeant's report.
Cain Dracus:"Understood Sergeant. This entrance is the focal point of this entire operation. Hold it at all costs. I will take my remaining Combat Forms and push into the city. Do not fail me, Sergeant, or death will be the least of your worries...do I make myself clear?"
If the trooper was concerned or worried for his well being, his helmet hid any traces of it. The Sergeant snapped to attention and saluted Cain.
"Understood sir! We will give our last breaths to keep this entrance secured in the name of the First Order."
Cain nodded in approval.
Cain Dracus:"I expect nothing less."
And with that, Cain trudged to the entrance of the city. A large tunnel leading down to a bank of turbo lifts sheltered from the elements would be the only way in. And the remaining two tech specialists in the group had managed to keep the Chiss forces below from jamming them. As Cain walked, he spoke the the Dracus parasite.
Your job isn't finished yet. Come slate your hunger with the bodies of our enemies! To me! We press forward for the First Order!
Cain reached the lift as a dozen Combat Forms and multiple infection forms greeted him there. The doors slid open. Cain and his entourage entered the lifts and rode them down to the city below the surface. That's when all hell broke loose...

First Order Imperial Navy Mission Log: High Admiral Savage/Inspection/Service#V1158969 Time: 0630hrs (Standard Military Time) Location: Csilla. Unknown Regions. En route from Legacy of the Void to planet's surface.
High Admiral Savage stood in the trooper bay of the leading Atmospheric Assault Lander carrying his Sith Trooper Commandos.
He was furious with his apprentice. And with good reason. He knew how much the Dracus infection meant to his apprentice, however he also knew how catastrophic an outbreak could be. If one single spore could spark a massive conflict in the desolate desert wastes of Rhommamool, it would have no problems finding a way to survive here. Sure it was under control by his apprentice at the moment, but what would happen if he lost control? No one would be able to reign the Dracus infection in. Now it was a matter of dealing with Cain and doing damage control.
The lead AAL shot through the debris field, escorted by a squadron of TIE Fighters. The fighting had lessened, but still wasn't completely over yet. Word of a cease fire between First Order and Chiss Forces were trickling through, though none of it was confirmed at this time. And then the ships entered the atmosphere. The craft rocked and bucked as it fought against gale force winds of the upper atmosphere. Savage stood firm, preparing for his upcoming encounter with his apprentice.

The lift slowed and came to a halt. The doors parted and that's when all hell broke loose. Charric and blaster fire rained into the lift as the Dracus attempted to surge forward. Over half of the Combat Forms were gunned down. The much smaller Infection forms were able to skitter out of the lift and find suitable targets. As the blaster fire continued, Cain's uncompressed red lightsaber was in his right hand, his silver bladed saber his his left. He spun and moved with the grace honed by years of training. Each blade deflected shots away from him. As the blaster fire became less focused on him, he was able to take the time to redirect the shots back from where they originated, felling multiple Chiss soldiers.
He had to admire their tenacity and determination. They would certainly make for excellent test subjects, should he ever take the Supreme Commander up on his offer of having Nirauan as his base of operations.
With the resistance lessening further, Cain was able to return the silver blade back to his belt. His red blade wavered as several more shots were deflected back at their targets. As the Chiss fell, the infection forms would take over the corpses, swelling the ranks of the Dracus once more.
He had lost eight of the original twelve Combat Forms that had accompanied him down. But with the defeat of the Chiss team waiting for him, he had gained twelve back. Four of the fallen Chiss were a mangled mess, incapable of hosting an infection form for the purpose of becoming a Combat Form. There was enough biomass that allowed the Infection Forms to mutate and alter the mangled Chiss bodies into a gooey pile, using the corpses as an incubator for more Infection Forms. The pile of corpses seemed to shiver and pulse as the Infection Forms grew inside. Within the time span of thirty minutes, the former pile of corpses would pop, sending twenty or so Infection Forms out into the city.
Explosions, terrified screams and blaster fire near by brought Cain out of his thoughts. He raised his blade and marched forward, slicing down any Chiss to cross his path. His goal was the city's main capitol building. He wanted to end this before more of the First Order's resources were wasted on this needless conflict.

First Order Imperial Navy Mission Log: High Admiral Savage/Inspection/Service#V1158969 Time: 0650hrs (Standard Military Time) Location: Csilla. Unknown Regions. Entrance to Csaplar.
Sith Lord Viox Savage strode down the ramp of the AAL as the other Landers set down and dispersed their troops. The bone chilling wind, normally fatal to any normal individual, caught his cloak and caused it to billow out behind him. He was ablaze with fury now. The fallen, frozen corpses of both Stormtrooper and Combat Form littered the entrance to the city. The few remaining troopers left from Cain's incursion into the city were stationed in defensive positions. The Sergeant in charge marched forward to greet him.
Lord Savage, sir! Sergeant Marek of the four-oh-five. Am I glad to see you sir-
Savage rounded on him, fierce yellow eyes flashing with anger, before he could finish.
"Get out of my sight, before I flay you alive before your compatriots!"
The trooper halted in his tracks as Savage marched on to the lift, stepping inside and spinning around as the doors closed. The few minutes it took for the lift to reach its destination wasn't enough to even temper the rage building within him. As the doors parted, revealing the chaos being wrought by the First Order Stormtroopers and the Dracus Infection, Savage stepped out of the lift and paused, listening. After a few seconds of orienting himself, Savage marched off towards the city's main government building. After about ten minutes of ducking in and out of the shadows, Savage approached the steps leading inside. He surveyed the scene. Bodies of Chiss and infected were strewn about. Several bore evidence of lightsaber wounds. A clear indication that Cain had come this way. Savage strode up the steps, pulling his lightsaber off of his belt with his left hand. As he entered the building, two Combat Forms acting as sentries, jumped, startled by the arrival of the Sith. The twin orange blades sprang to life and with a flick of his wrist, he cut both of them down. He extinguished the blades and continued forward, coming to the main lobby of the building. Cain was below, slicing down several Chiss soldiers as his infection threw itself against the makeshift barricade. On the other side of the barricade were over a dozen Chiss soldiers as well as a high ranking official. Savage focused on the largest part of the barricade. He closed his eyes and extended his perception outwards, gripping the barrier. With one almighty push, he shoved the barricade backwards, on to the Chiss using it as cover. This sudden movement caused Cain to glance up at where Savage stood. Savage merely glared at his apprentice. With one surge of energy, Savage leaped from the platform overlooking the main lobby and landing softly on the stone floor below, with nothing more than the rustling of his cloak. As he stood, he extended his right hand, forming a vise with his thumb and index finger. A startled Cain began to squirm and gasp, his metallic rasps echoing within the room. As Cain wiggled and clutched at his throat while he floated above the floor, Savage marched closer.
"You had one objective! ONE! And you couldn't even accomplish that without resorting to that... abomination! You are a sad, pathetic excuse for a Sith."
With a flick of his wrist, he threw Cain into a sparkling glass display case holding various trophies and plaques. The armored Zabrak smashed through the case with little resistance. Knowing that he'd be furious, Savage allowed him to get to his feet. As Cain wheezed for air, he spoke.
"You are blind, master. Blind and stupid. The Dracus can excel where the normal infantry fails. All you see is a galaxy consuming parasite, where as I see a limitless resource, just waiting to be exploited."
Savage gritted his teeth and spat back at Cain, angrily.
"You wheezing bag of pus. You'd be dead now if it wasn't for me! I gave you everything you have, and I can just as easily take it away!"
As Cain walked over to him slowly, he chuckled.
"You can certainly try, my master..."
And with that, Cain summoned his lightsaber to his hand and ignited it. The wavering red blade sprang to life. He spun the blade in his hand and then held it behind him. Now it was Savage's turn to chuckle.
"You wish to stand against me? Then you shall die like everyone else!"
And with that, Savage lunged at him with reckless abandon. His apprentice had crossed the line and was trying to justify setting the parasite free. And he was defiantly standing against his master. Now he would pay. As Savage charged forward, he ignited his lightsaber. The twin orange blades sprang to life seconds before they met Cain's red blade. The connected blades sparked and sputtered as the were held against each other. Cain pushed back, despite his fatigue. Savage grinned malevolently. He gave in just enough to thing Cain was beginning to overpower him, then he shoved back with all his might. The blades unlocked as Cain staggered back. He regained himself and pressed against Savage once more. Savage deftly parried his swings, toying with his apprentice. As Cain came forward to lock blades with him once more, Savage switched hands and spun his blade and batted Cain's blade to the side. He then reached out with his mechanical left hand and grabbed Cain by the throat. Using his own raw strength as well as the Force, Savage picked Cain up off his feet. Cain's clawed hands instinctively reached for his master's hand wrapped around his throat. But before his clawed fingers could find purchase in Savage's arm, Cain was slammed up against the wall as Savage lifted him higher, fully extending his reach. His fierce yellow eyes staring into the visor of Cain's helmet.
"You arrogant little worm. You truly think you can defeat me, don't you". Said Savage, sounding almost amused at the notion. "You don't stand a chance. Why? Because I never intended to be bested by an apprentice, especially one as useless as you. You've had your uses and perhaps after this, you still will. If I allow you to live...tell me, my dear apprentice, what makes you deserve another chance at life, hmmm?"
Nothing but metallic gurgles escape from Cain's helmet. At this point, Cain drops his lightsaber, which deactivates and clatters to the floor. Savage frowned.
"I must say, I am disappointed in you, Cain. Surely you learned your lessons from me better than this? Oh, right I forgot, you were to busy focusing on your beloved abomination..."
As Savage trailed off, he could sense his apprentice slipping in and out of consciousness. And then several squads of Stormtroopers filed into the main lobby. Savage released his grip on Cain's throat. As Cain slid down the way and was about to fall to his knees, Savage brought up his knee, catching Cain in the ribs. Cain doubled over and began to fall over. As he did so, Savage clenched his left hand and swung down as hard as he could into the side of Cain's helmet. A loud metallic CLANG rang out as Cain's head snapped down and he slumped over, unconscious. As Savage turned away, he deactivated his lightsaber and returned it to his belt. A Stormtrooper Sergeant jogged passed him.
"Lock him up. And burn every single blasted piece of this damned infection!"
As the trooper carried out his orders, Savage marched through the rubble of the barricade he had destroyed. After a few minutes of searching, he found the high ranking official. He reached down and picked the blue-skinned being up with his left hand, by the throat. The panicking Chiss began to protest.
"No..please...I can....I can he...he...help you..."
Savage grinned.
"I'm afraid I've already helped myself..."
And with that, Savage clamped his hand shut with a wet squelch. The Chiss' body went limp as blood ran down his metallic fingers. He tossed the body aside and opened his hands, releasing the bits of bloody blue flesh in his grasp.
"Sergeant, finish cleaning up here and lock down this building. Inform the Supreme Commander of the new development. Csilla is now ours."
And with that, Savage marched back out of the building. His apprentice had been dealt with and the First Order was one step closer to galactic domination. And soon, they would be making themselves know to the entire galaxy. And when that happened, no one would stop them. Not the Jedi, not the decaying Republic, no one. And then order would be restored to the galaxy. It would be a glorious day for the First Order when that happened.
