What are we allowed to share with fellow users of JvS? As far as personal blogs, websites, youtube channels etc? If this has been addressed anywhere else I'm sorry, just thought I'd ask.
Also If anyone else wants to add to this sentiment, please by all means!
Thanks! Loki.

Hiya Amlu/Loki, So long as the blog/website/youtube channel/etc in question doesn't contain sexually explicit content, promote bullying, or anything else explicitly stated in Rule 2 of the General Rules, then you are more than welcome to post it freely within the open boards. Obviously, if you write some where with sexually explicit content (eg: A Game of Thrones writing site, Archive Of Our Own), and someone is completely fine with you sending them a link via PM, then I believe that is fine. As far as sharing links to other RP sites go, I believe it is a fairly common sense thing to do it within reason. Can't remember whether the site rules have changed or what they specifically are on the matter, but I imagine so long as discussion for it was kept to one thread, and you weren't going around spamming/poaching people, you wont get in much trouble. But I would have to check with Shaman Chill just to confirm that one.

Definitely not something for the public boards, especially since people under the age of 18 can access these boards. Again, you are more than welcome to PM such a link to people, if they express interest in finding out more. But yeah.

I think Becca has answered Amlu's question from a content standpoint, but for anyone else who might be wondering about more general rules, or find this thread in the future: We take a reasonably hard line on spam, due to past problems, and that line is outlined in our Spam Policy. This isn't aimed so much at people who post a link once, or who share links within their existing group of friends. It's primarily aimed to prohibit the repeated posting or sharing of unsolicited/unwanted content or links. There is also a difference between promoting a personal site (e.g. a blog or YouTube channel) and promoting a larger site (such as another RP site, or a site which you're not a primary contributor). If someone wants to share an (appropriate) personal project, that's generally ok so long as you're sharing it in a limited way. Acceptable examples would be sending PMs to existing friends (whom you know would be ok with receiving the info), or posting the link one time in an OOC thread that is only used by your writing group, or by starting a single thread in the Non-Star Wars forum. What's not ok is sending unsolicited PMs to large numbers of people, or posting the same link many times, or posting referral links solely to get any type of bonus for referring people. Jedi vs Sith has long discouraged the promotion of larger, non-personal sites such as other RP communities. There were valid political reasons for this at times, and there were also spammy abuses that took place in the past which required a crackdown. However, very soon, we will be taking the wraps off a dedicated place for submitting advertising-type links.
