Hello! I haven't played JvS in a long time, but I used to back when it was on Facebook and transferred over to 1.5. I haven't played in years. I never got too incredibly involved, but I want to now. This planet looks like a cool place to start. I am looking to start my character here and build him with this place in mind. He is force sensitive, but has no involvement with the Force yet. I want him to start with nothing at all, and no real power, and work his way up from there.
Any suggestions on where to start? Anything I should know about this planet before I build my character? Anyone interested in RPing with me? I am not at all opposed to being a weak side-kick sort of character in the beginning.

You are more than welcome to RP here on Vandelhelm, and with us here in Sanctuary as well. Sanctuary is a relatively new branch of the Order, where individuals wishing to pursue a more purist approach to the Jedi may come to develop their character. The planet itself is more or less uninhabited save for Rimma city, with Sanctuary itself being a praxeum tower several hundred miles removed from the city. Besides this, it should be noted that the whole of the planet, and even the solar system, is encompassed in an incredibly dense asteroid field - this is field is canonically so dense as to allow nothing above a freighter to pass through it.
Currently, we have *just* arrived to the planet, and entered Sanctuary - which has grown to a state of disrepair over the time it has been abandoned. So, if you wish, you are more than welcome to join the class of padawans that I am currently teaching in the training room. Or, if you desire to be discovered or make your own way to our facilities, you are more than welcome to start in the city. Likewise, if you wish a different approach separate from our Order, you are more than welcome to RP in the city, and we can coordinate some SL's with you in the future!
Anyways, welcome to Vandelhelm - be sure to bring sunscreen.

I would love to discuss at length with you about what you'd like to do, I'm gonna PM you here momentarily, also Jashin had some great ideas for a start out.

I see. Well, I wasn't planning on getting into the Force until my character is a bit more developed and I've gotten some experience. Perhaps I will start as a lowly commoner in the big city, and we can meet in the future IC! Good luck with the training and the Sanctuary reconstruction.

Well you could be a humble a shopkeeper too, we will have to visit the city at some point and set up deliveries and such for the Sanctuary, like food, medical supplies etc as there are often accidents when training young Jedi
